RUBY CONNER MERICLE

Ruby Conner Mericle, 87, of Beaumont died Sept. 15, 2000, at The Clairmont Nursing Center.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont with burial at Magnolia Cemetery.

A native of Forrest, she lived in Beaumont most of her life and was a retired resident advisor for Lamar University.

Survivors include her daughters, Wanda Fiorenza of Port Neches and May Culotta of Beaumont; sister, Mollie Wagnon of Austin; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-granddaughters.

Memorials may be made to Epilepsy Foundation of Southeast Texas, 2650 Fountainview, Suite, 316, Houston, Texas 77057.

LOLA PERRY

Lola Perry, 69, of Hardin died Sept. 16, 2000, at Liberty-Dayton Hospital in Liberty.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton with burial at Jacob-Boothe Cemetery in Moss Hill. Visitation began at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

A native of Amarillo and former resident of Pasadena, she lived in Hardin 34 years.

Survivors include her daughters, Marsha Milburn of Salt Lake City, Utah and Christi McCreight of Moss Hill; sons, James Perry of Pasadena and Dana Perry of Hardin; and sister, Louise Snow of Pasadena; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

FERDINAND GUSTAVE SCHAEFER

Ferdinand Gustave Schaefer, 71, of Beaumont died Sept. 1, 2000, at University Texas Medical Branch Hospital in Galveston.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Beaumont Haven of Rest Cemetery under the direction of Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.

A native of Los Angeles, Calif., he lived in Beaumont many years and was a former draftsman. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his daughters, Linda Schaefer of California and Therese Renouf of Phoenix, Ariz.; son, Jackie Schaefer of Texas; and brothers, Ken Schaefer of Sacramento, Calif., and Ralph Schaefer of San Francisco, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

REBECCA FRANCES SMITH

Rebecca Frances Smith, 44, of Port Neches died Sept. 17, 2000, at Park Place Medical Center in Port Arthur.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native and lifelong resident of Port Arthur, she lived in Port Neches several years and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughters, Gayla Murillo of Port Arthur; brothers, Keith Hartsfield, Daniel Renshaw and Ronnie Renshaw, all of Port Arthur and Dale Renshaw of Grady, Ark.; and sisters, Debbie Vercher of Bridge City, Cynthia Bailey of Port Neches and Gloria Crochet of Bossier City, La.; and three grandchildren.

WILLIAM RAYMOND STANCIL

William Raymond Stancil, 58, died Sept. 15, 2000.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at First Assembly of God Church in Coppell with burial at Hilltop Memorial Park in Carrollton.

A native of Buna and former resident of College Station, he was a former process engineer for Signal Oil and Gas Company, in Bakersfield, Calif., and Houston. He was also former employee of Purvin and Gertz, in Canada, London and England. At his departure, he was their vice president in 1984. He later formed two consulting firms Muse Stancil and Company in 1984 and formed a separate company Stancil and Company in 1996. And assisted Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. and British Petroleum.

He was also vice president of refining for CITGO Petroleum, worked for Valero in Corpus Christi, a refinery in Albany, N.Y., NISCO power plant in Lake Charles and in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and recently formed Fuel Links.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Stancil of Coppell; daughter, Jada Ann Stancil of Irving; son, Jason Raymond Stancil of Coppell; mother, Pauline Locke Stancil of Carrollton; brothers, Dan Stancil and Glen Stancil, both of Houston; and two grandchildren.

WILMER YOUNG

Wilmer Young, 87, of Nederland died Sept. 16, 2000, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Broussard’s Mortuary in Nederland with burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.

A native of DeQuincy, La., he lived in Nederland 56 years and was the owner/operator of Young’s Tin Shop.

Survivors include his daughters, Pat Herrington and Gail Jones, both of Nederland and Joyce Hall of Havertown, Penn.; brothers, William Young and Earnest Young, both of Port Neches and Mitchell Young Jr. of Lake Charles, La.; nine grandchildren; and eight grreat-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church Building Fund, 3324 Park Drive, Nederland, Texas 77627.

ANNIE ALBANESE

Annie Albanese, 84, of Beaumont died Sept. 17, 2000, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.

A native of Monroe, La., she lived in Beaumont most of her life and was a retired packaging clerk with Texas Coffee Company.

Survivors include her sisters, Mary Welch of Orangefield, Jo Marie Gross of Slidell, La., and Virginia Smith of Conroe; and one nephew.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 5144, Beaumont, Texas 77726-5144.

YVONNE TABB HICKS

Yvonne Tabb Hicks, 61, of Dayton died Sept. 17, 2000, at her residence.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Dayton with burial at Linney Cemetery under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A former resident of Evangeline, La., she lived in Dayton 50 years and was a retired Central International production foreman.

Survivors include her husband, William L. "Bill’’ Hicks of Dayton; sons, William C. Hicks and Andy Hicks, both of Dayton; daughter, Bernice Rowland of Huffman; sister, Dorothy Logue of Dayton; brother, Kenneth Tabb of Dayton; and nine grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, attn: Children’s Ministries, 105 S. Cleveland, Dayton, Texas 77535.

DOROTHY HIGHT

Dorothy Hight, 90, of Beaumont died Sept. 18, 2000, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home with burial at Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Churchpoint, La., she lived in Beaumont 70 years and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Lowell Hight of Beaumont; son, Douglas A. McCraw of Houston; sisters, Annie Mae Meyers and Jeannette Siau, both of Orange; brothers, John A. Young of Orange, Lloyd Young of Eunice, La., and Perkins Young and Charles Young, both of Vidor; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

LEE GRACE HOUSE

Lee Grace House, 87, of Beaumont died 17, 2000, at Schlesinger Nursing Home.

A graveside will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home in Lubbock. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Jefferson and former resident of Lubbock and Shreveport, La., she lived in Beaumont six years and was a homemaker

Survivors include son, Jack A. House of Beaumont; grandchildren, Laurie Ritchell, Theresa Mathews and Ryan House; and two great-granddaughters.

MERIDITH REBECCA HULL

Meridith Rebecca Hull, 2 months, of DeRidder, La., died Sept. 17, 2000, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles.

Memorial service will be at 5 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in DeRidder, La., under the direction of Washburn and Dorsey Funeral Home in Bostic, N.C.

She was a native of DeRidder.

Survivors include her father, Barry Hull of DeRidder; mother, Christine Hull of DeRidder; brothers, Ryan Hull and Daniel Hull, both of DeRidder; grandfather, Frank Hull of Mooresville, N.C.; and grandparents, Kenneth and Billy Gettys of Hollis, N.C.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beauregard Memorial Nursery, c/o Beauregard Memorial Hospital, P.O. Box 730, DeRidder, La. 70634.

MARY P. JONES

Mary P. Jones, 90, of DeQuincy, La., died Sept. 17, 2000, in Camden, Ark.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy with burial at Miller Cemetery in Starks. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service today at the funeral home.

She was a native and lifelong resident of DeQuincy.

Survivors include her son, Wayne Lyles of Chidester, Ark; and sister, Elise Switzer of Orange; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

DEBORAH JEAN LaBUFF

Deborah Jean LaBuff, 52, of Tarkington Prairie died Sept. 18, 2000, at her residence.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

A native of Eglin, Fla., she lived in the Cleveland area most of her life.

Survivors include her husband, Aubrey LaBuff Sr. of Cleveland; sons, Aubrey LaBuff Jr. and James LaBuff, both of Cleveland; father, Alton B. Sikes of Oklahoma City, Okla.; brothers, Jimmy Georgous and Michael Georges, both of Cleveland; and two grandchildren.

MERISSA DESHAWN LANE

Merissa Deshawn Lane, infant daughter of Christopher and Alberta Lane of Beaumont died Sept. 17, 2000, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Mercy Funeral Home on Gladys.

Survivors include other than parents, grandparents, Norma Mitchell and Charles Ray Alfred of Beaumont, and Cammie Lane of Beaumont; great-grandparents, Alberta Bluitt and Lottie Savoy, both of Beaumont.
