KENNETH CARR CHAMBLISS, 72, was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi on September 23, 1935 to Clem and Polly Chambliss. Carr moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama at age fifteen where he met Mary when they were 10th graders at Tuscaloosa High School. He graduated from the University of Alabama, served his country in the Korean War as a Captain, and went on to earn a Master’s Degree from University of Alabama. His career in international maritime insurance took Carr and his family from one corner of the world to another before settling in Houston in 1978.
Such a full life was truly made complete when, at age 69, Carr realized that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and His grace were to be his greatest treasures. Carr’s most fervent prayers were that he would know Jesus fully and that his children and grandchildren would know Him, as well.
Others who survive Carr and who will remember him with great affection include his siblings, Gerry Chambliss, Hugh Chambliss, Carol Chambliss Moreland, and Norma Chambliss Newton; and his many cousins, nieces, and nephews, all who have shared a great fondness for Carr over the years and will miss him dearly.
