Rebecca J. Nixon

REBECCA J. (WILKINSON) NIXON "O death where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?" 1 Corinthians 15:55 Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57 Born into this world to Billy M. and Francis E. Wilkinson on November 7, 1950 and departed to be face to face with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 12, 2009, having fought a long hard battle with cancer. She had been employed by Spring Branch ISD having taught at Rummel Creek Elementary, Memorial Middle and Nottingham Elementary. She dedicated her service to helping students achieve the highest and best and to reach their potential. Becky knew that our Lord desired the highest and best for His sons and daughters and He gives us all great potential. She cherished learning about her Savior, seeking daily to apply the principles learned in 1 Corinthians 13:4&5 in every area of her life as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, wife, mother, grandmother, friend and teacher. "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. (1 Corinthians 13:4&5) To those of us who remain behind, our dear Becky encourages us to seek His face and come to know Him through the salvation message about the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ on the cross on behalf of the entire human race. God demonstrates his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died as a substitute for us. (John 5:8) But as many as received Him, to them gave He the power to become the sons of God, even to those who believe in His name. (John 1:12) "I give unto them eternal life, they shall never perish; neither shall anyone pluck them out of My hand." (John 10:28) She would then exhort us to fulfill the plan of God for our lives by learning His mandates and growing in Grace as your faith should not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths. Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Tim. 2:15) Becky has lead the way and can say follow me over that high golden bridge to be secure in the Lord's hands... for me, living is Christ, and dying is profit. (Philippians 1:21) Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints (believers). (Psalm 116:15) Remaining behind is her husband, T.H. (Nick) Nixon III; son, Jay Fulbright and wife Jennifer; grandsons, Connor and Trent; as well as Becky's mother, sisters, brother and numerous cousins and their families. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in Berachah Church located at 2815 Sage, directly behind the Galleria. It is Becky's request that in lieu of flowers please make donations to R.B. Thieme Jr. Bible Ministries, P.O. Box 460829, Houston, Texas 77056; Berachah Church, 2815 Sage Road, Houston, Texas, 77056; or to Ovarian Cancer research.
