Ruth Dehart

May 7, 1916 - January 26, 2008 DR. RUTH S. DeHart, beloved wife of Thomas DeHart for almost 65 years, made her transition on January 26, 2008, after an extended illness. She leaves a cherished daughter, Barbara J. DeHart, son-in-law Lou Hendrickx, sisters-in-law: Doris Hemsworth, Mae Joubert, and Leona Zaboroski, brothers-in-law: Dalton DeHart and Delton DeHart, various nieces and nephews, and many dear and greatly loved friends. She was a Professor, retired, from Houston Baptist University and also served as Adjunct Professor of the University of Texas Medical School, Department of Family Practice and Community Medicine. She served Texas students for thirty-five years as educator and mentor. She was a member of many professional organizations, including the Houston Gerontological Society, of which she was a founding member. Her friends are encouraged to contribute to their favorite charities in her name and to devote their lives to help perpetuate her life's goal: the elevation and enrichment of the human spirit. Special thanks go to the caring and supportive members of her Houston Hospice team, especially Sharon Hempler and Brenda Mayfield. Her caregivers, Fran Roberson and Carolyn Arceneaux were invaluable, and the family greatly appreciates their professionalism and loving kindness. A memorial service in honor of Dr. DeHart will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2008, at 2:00 P.M., in the Belin Chapel, Houston Baptist University, with a reception following in the meeting room at University Place Retirement Community, 7480 Beechnut, Houston, Texas 77074.

Helen Randle, 96, born on January 19, 1912 in Austin, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2008 in Houston, Texas. Helen will be missed by her family and friends.

Harold E. Straub

Harold. E. Straub, 88, born on October 3, 1919 in Carlinville, Illinois passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2008 in Houston, Texas. Harold will be missed by his family and friends.

Ruth M. Levine-Cherubin

Ruth M. Levine-Cherubin, 70, born on June 24, 1937 in Frederiksted, St. Croix passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 in Houston, Texas. Ruth will be missed by her family and friends.

Henry Kiezel

Henry H. Kiezel, 78, passed away January 24, 2008 in Houston. He is preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Kiezel. Henry is survived by two sons, Robert (Bob) Kiezel and wife, Betty; Allan Kiezel and wife Donna; daughter, Kathy Benkenstein and husband, John; six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren as well as numerous friends and relatives. Visitation, Saturday, January 26, 2008, 11:00am-2:00pm in the Chapel of Miller Funeral Services.

Lucille Clarke

Lucille Musgrave Clarke, born January 3, 1924, peacefully passed away January 23, 2008 after a lengthy illness. A lifelong resident of Houston, Lucille grew up in the Houston (Woodland) Heights and attended Rice Institute. Devoted daughter, beloved wife, loving mother and grandmother, Lucille was the widow of Thomas Paschal Clarke MD and grandmother of the late Matthew Harrison Clarke. She is survived by her children and grandchildren: William Paschal Clarke MD, wife Jane, son Christian Paschal and his fiancée Allison Weinnig; Craig Musgrave Clarke DDS, wife Patty and children John Craig and Sarah Clare; and Lisa Clarke Bonner, husband William (Neel) and daughter Lucy Majette. We also remember her lifelong friends Maribel McCleary Adkins, Sara Ann Rain and Dorothy Jean Evershade, as well as her “Rusty Needles” lunch group, the Blue Birds and her many other friends who meant so much to her. We are grateful for the years of loving care and support provided by caregivers in “The Gardens” at the Forum at Memorial Woods and, in her final months and days, by those with Gulf Coast Hospice of Houston. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Tuesday, January 29 at 2 pm, The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, 9600 S Gessner at Bissonnet. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Houston Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of your choice

Theresa C. Riddle

THERESA CAROLYN RIDDLE, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister entered into eternal rest on January 22, 2008 after a courageous battle against cancer. Theresa was born on October 31st, 1941 in Aiea, Oahu, Hawaii. She was the youngest of 13 children born of Manuel and Mary Pregill Pimento. Theresa met and married Douglas Riddle of Marlin, Texas in 1969 and they enjoyed a long and adventurous life together. She was an active member of the Hawaiian Aikane Club, which she dearly loved and always enjoyed. Theresa is survived by Doug, children James, Anthony and Mary grandchildren Amanda, Echo, Allison, Lewis, Hanna and her namesake Terri Sue. She is remembered by her loving brother and sisters, extended family members and others that will always cherish their time with her. Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 26th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church, 10330 Hillcroft Street, Houston Texas 77096-4795 with a gathering to follow at the Church Hall. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the American Cancer Society.

Norma G. Moore

Norma G. Moore, 74, born on August 19, 1933 in Horseheads, New York passed away on Monday, January 21, 2008 in Houston, Texas. Norma will be missed by her family and friends.

Eldrica D. Edwards, 83, born on May 31, 1924 in Panama passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2008 in Houston, Texas. Eldrica will be missed by her family and friends.

Jean A. Williams

JEAN A. WILLIAMS peacefully slipped home to Jesus on January 18, 2008. Jean is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Caryl and Richard Nystrom, grandsons David and Steven Nystrom, nephews, and cousins. Our gratitude goes to the wonderful staff at Odyssey Hospice House. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1st, in the Chapel at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77024. Arline Mueller Hichens, born August 31, 1923 in Houston (daughter of Irene and August Mueller), passed away January 13, 2008. Arline attended Reagan H.S. and the University of Houston. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dr. Hedley C. Hichens, son, Mark and wife Stella of San Antonio; daughter, Paige Pemberton of Beaumont; granddaughter, Jennifer and husband Scott Hermstein of League City; and three grandsons, Travis Pemberton and his wife Amanda of Denver, CO; Hedley G. Hichens and wife Molly of Rio Hondo, TX and Peyton Pemberton of Harlan, OR; and brother-in- law, Dr. Henry S. Hichens and his four children, Rainbo, Rootie, Arthur, and Hugh. The family wishes to acknowledge the love and care neighbors, friends, and family have shown during this difficult time.

A celebration of Arline’s life will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2008, 11:00 AM at West University United Methodist Church, 3611 University Blvd. Houston, TX 77005. REVEREND JAMES MILTON MOEHLE, 59, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2008. Survived by his loving best friend and ex-wife, Kaye Moehle; one son, James Cody and wife Lindsay; four grandchildren, Roderick, Abby, Cameron, and Eddie; sister, Nancy Bryant; and three brothers, James Alfred, Howard and Robert Moehle. Karen Rebecca Huffman, born August 8, 1957, died in Houston on January 11, 2008. Karen's father, Alexander Davenport Cyphers, preceded her in death. She is survived by husband, Hal Huffman; sons, Travis Reese and Austin Blake; mother, June Cyphers; sister, Linda and husband Joe Fielder; and nephew, Dan Fielder. Martha McGraw

MARTHA McGRAW, born on March 27, 1934 in Coffeyville, KS, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2008 in Houston, TX. She was a woman of beauty, grace, determination and honor. Martha is survived by her husband of 49 years, Don McGraw, four sons, Don Jr. and wife Kelly, Mike and wife Anita, David, and Mark and wife Pamela; and grandchildren, Devin, Kyle, Kade, Mackenna, and Elie. Martha graduated from the University of Texas in 1956 with a degree in home economics. In 1977, she returned to school and received her associate of science degree in nursing (RN). Martha utilized her nursing skills at Clear Lake Hospital for many years. She was an active devoted member of the Clear Lake Presbyterian Church for 34 years and went on to continue her devotion at Heritage Presbyterian Church for the past 3 years. A celebration of Martha's life will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 3:00 PM in the Sanctuary of Heritage Presbyterian Church 7934 Hwy 6 N., Houston, TX 77095.

Jocelyn A. Arias

Jocelyn A. Arias, 13, born on August 14, 1994 in Houston, Texas passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 in Sugar Land, Texas. A viewing will be held at Miller Funeral Services Garden Chapel, Friday January 11, 2008 3:00 pm- 9:00 pm. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 12, 2008 Santa Maria Virgen Episcopal Church 11:00 am. Jocelyn will be missed by her family and friends.

Muriel Yvonne W. Williams

MURIEL YVONNE WALKER WILLIAMS went to be with the Lord on January 9, 2008. Born in Knoxville, TN, she grew up in Texas and attended Lamar University and the University of Houston, where she graduated with a bachelor of science in pharmacy. She lived for many years in Mandeville, LA with her husband and two children, where Yvonne focused her time and energy on her family, schools and church. She was an active member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church in Mandeville, engaged in the music ministry, bible study, women's groups and various community outreach activities. Yvonne is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, John Williams, son Thomas Williams, daughter Laura Williams, parents MJ and Muriel Walker, brother Jimmy Walker and sisters Denise Walker Malone and Alecia Walker Mallett. Yvonne was also a wonderful aunt to six nephews and four nieces. A Memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Houston at 2:00 pm on January 12, 2008. A Memorial service will be held at St. Timothy United Methodist Church in Mandeville, LA on February 2, 2008 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Methodist Children Home in Waco, TX or New Orleans, LA.

Eulalie Cook, 86, born on April 28, 1921 in Pulaski County, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 in Houston, Texas. Eulalie will be missed by her family and friends.

Henry W. Hardy

HENRY WALTER HARDY, JR. passed away on January 8, 2008 at 11:40 AM. Celebration of life will be at his home for friends and family on 1-10-08 at 3 pm. Interment will be a private affair for family and close friends at Liberty cemetery in Cameron, Texas.
