Winnie F. Woolverton

Services for Winnie Frank Woolverton, 93, of Tennessee Colony, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Herrington Land of Memory Chapel with the Rev. Ken Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in Land of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory.
Mrs. Woolverton died Wednesday afternoon at her home.
She was born Oct. 15, 1909 in Palestine to Frank and Winnie Jameson Griffith.
Mrs. Woolverton graduated from Palestine High School in 1926 and then from Nixon Business School in Palestine. She worked for the IGN Railroad offices, for Nathan Royall, a cotton broker, for Bob Reeves, the county attorney, and for Ben Greenwood, the district attorney.
She married B.G. Woolverton in 1932 and traveled and worked with him in the oil fields of several Gulf Coast states until returning to Tennessee Colony in 1948 to open a dairy business.
Mrs. Woolverton worked closely with Anderson County extension agent Doc LaRue in getting many state community improvement and activity awards for Tennessee Colony.
She was hired as postmaster for Tennessee Colony in 1956 and served 23 1/2 years before retiring in 1979. She was a member of the Christian Church of Tennessee Colony.
Mrs. Woolverton was preceded in death by her husband; and a sister, Mary Louise Griffith.
She is survived by two cousins and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell Ely, John C. Ely Jr., Johnny Belcher, Tom Griffith, Hugh Dublin and Stanley Graham.
Honorary pallbearers will be L.C. Mehaffey, Ed Wilson, Vivian Ivy, Kay Rogers, and other nieces and nephews.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Cal Farley Boys’ Home.

Reginald “Reg” Dean Teddlie

Services for Reginald “Reg” Dean Teddlie, 65, of Buffalo, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church with the Revs. Don  White, Doc  Jones and Craig Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Buffalo.
Mr. Teddlie died Wednesday in Buffalo.
He was born Dec. 5, 1936, in the Concord community, to Reginald Teddlie and Nora Bess Graham Teddlie.
Mr. Teddlie was a retired industrial hygienist for TU Electric. He was a member of Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church.
He was a founding member of the local Smokie the Bear for the Forestry Service. He was a cattle rancher and worked with youth at the Leon County Livestock Show.
Mr. Teddlie was a member of the Buffalo Masonic Lodge, Waco Shrine Temple, Volunteer Fire Department, National Rifle Association and Ducks Unlimited.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Darla Chevalier of Fairbanks, Ala.
Mr. Teddlie is survived by his wife, Billie Janice “Susie” Teddlie; son, Stephen Teddlie of Irving; daughters, Carolyn Ferguson of Keechi and Charlotte Sessom of Lubbock; and three grandchildren.

H.C. Ward

Services for H.C. Ward, 88, of Jacksonville, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with the Rev. Grady Higgs officiating. Burial will follow at Meador Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Mr. Ward died Thursday in Tyler.
He was born Sept. 27, 1914, in Cherokee County.
Mr. Ward formerly worked at Cherokee Hardware in Jacksonville for 35 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maurine Ward.
Mr. Ward is survived by son, Danny Ward of Jacksonville; daughter, Ann George of Jacksonville; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Packer, Kyle Vanover, Jerry Rhone, Dewie Welch, Roddy Packer, Philip Welch and Michael Welch.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

O.A. “Bert” Wood

Funeral arrangements for O.A. “Bert” Wood, 82, of Mesquite, and formerly of Pert, are pending at Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Wood died Wednesday afternoon at Plano Specialty Hospital in Plano.

Michael A. Shumate

Funeral arrangements for Michael A. Shumate, 30, of Palestine, are pending at Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Shumate died Thursday in Palestine.

Iris Marie Posey Gross

Services for Iris Marie Posey Gross, 72, of Rusk, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Renfro Memorial Chapel at Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Jacksonville with the Rev. Jerry Neff officiating. Burial will be at West Shady Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Gross died Wednesday in College Station.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Linda Davis

Funeral arrangements for Linda Davis, 52, are pending at Emanuel Funeral Home, Crockett.
Mrs. Davis died Thursday at Spring Season Nursing Center in Elkhart.

Ina Jo Adams Colvert

Services for Ina Jo Adams Colvert, 93, of Palestine, and formerly of Texarkana, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Texarkana under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.
Mrs. Colvert died Sunday morning at Cartmell Home for Aged.
She was born July 10, 1909, in New Boston to William Troy Adams and Ollie Lee Newsum Adams.
Mrs. Colvert graduated valedictorian from New Boston High School. She was a retired inspector at Lone Star Ammunition Plant. She was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Troy Allen, James Howard, Robert Newel and Jewell William Adams.
Mrs. Colvert is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie Ruth and Tom Mack Connor of Emory and Jo Ann and William Robert “Rob” Davidson of Palestine; grandchildren, Mark and Shelly Davidson of Palestine and Kimberley and David Premo of Rowlett; great-grandchildren, Courtney Davidson of Palestine, Mack Dean and Jack Patrick Premo of Rowlett; nephew and wife, Troy Allen and Betty Adams Jr. of Slidell, La.; and nieces, Sue Post of Texarkana and Wanda Clevenger of Rockwall.

Laura Leona West

Services for Laura Leona West, 88, of Buffalo will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church in Buffalo with Revs. James Vermillion and Brett Moreland officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Blair Stubbs Funeral Home in Teague.
Mrs. West died Saturday in Mexia.
She was born Sept. 4, 1914 in Greenville.
Mrs. West is survived by her son, Charles West and wife Juanita of Buffalo; daughter, Joan Long and husband Doyle of Conroe; four grandchildren, William E. West of Buffalo, Jerry Dean West of Robbins, Randy Long of Conroe and Charles Long of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Stovall of Greenville and Johnnie Reeder of Buffalo.
Mrs. West was preceded in death by her husband, C.W. West, in 1995.
Condolence calls will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Blair Stubbs Funeral Home in Teague.

David Eugene Cryer

Services for David Eugene Cryer, 78, of Fairfield will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield with the Rev. Wayne Flowers officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow at Dew Cemetery in Dew.
Mr. Cryer died Saturday in Fairfield.

Cole Hollingsworth

Services for Cole Hollingsworth, 32, of Oakwood will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fairfield Christian Center with Buddy Turner and Bubba Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana.
Mr. Hollingsworth died Friday in Oakwood.

Ima Grace Perry

Services for Ima Grace Perry, 100, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Revs. Tommy Caskey and Bell Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Park.
Mrs. Perry died Saturday at Cartmell Home for the Aged.
She was born Feb. 3, 1902 in Alto to Johnnie Foster and Janie Beasley Foster.
Mrs. Perry was a member of North  Jackson Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elijah Earl Perry; and sons, Thomas Early Perry and Fred Allen “Dick” Perry.
Mrs. Perry is survived by daughters, Eloise Roberts of Poynor, and Ann Perry and Dorothy Henderson, both of Palestine; sons, Troy Perry of Center, Charles Perry of Palestine, Blue Perry of Corsicana, J.L. Perry of Leona, James “Pop” Perry of Madisonville and Jimmy Perry of Ackerly; 37 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren and 51 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Perry, Tommy Perry, Jessie Foster, Johnnie Foster, Jim E. Perry, Ronnie Perry, Bill Roberts and David Roberts.
Honorary pallbearers will be all the grandchildren.

Horace Joe Pool

Horace Joe Pool, 69, of Fairfield, died Thursday at East  Texas Medical Center in Fairfield. He was cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield.
Mr. Pool was born Aug. 18, 1932 in Winnsboro to Frank and Winnie Pool. He was a retired carpenter and painter.
He is survived by a stepson, David Emerine of Malakoff; brothers, Terry Pool of Sulpher Springs and Edward and Floyd Pool, both of Winnsboro; and a sister, Frankie Pool of Como.

A.B. Thornton Jr.

Funeral arrangements for A.B. Thornton Jr., of Gun Barrell City, and formerly of the Blackfoot community, are pending at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.

Alice Smart

Funeral arrangements for Alice Smart, 75, of Grapeland, are pending at Bailey & Foster, Grapeland.
Mrs. Smart died this morning at her home.

Mary Lou Holloway

Services for Mary Lou Holloway, 89, of Oakwood, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Jamie Duplichan officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Holloway died Monday at Cartmell Home for the Aged.
She was born Jan. 7, 1913 in Houston County to Elbert E. Owens and Addie Clark Owens.
Mrs. Holloway was a homemaker and member of the Oakwood Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Holloway; a daughter, Evelyn Campbell; and a sister, Etta Wright.
Mrs. Holloway is survived by daughters, Neta Eldridge of Oakwood and Addie Haydon of Fairfield; sons, Bob Holloway of Fairfield and Joe Holloway of Cayuga; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joe Kevin Holloway, William Campbell, James Robert Eldridge, Randy Haydon and Billy Bob Haydon.

Bertis Lee Baker

Services for Bertis Lee Baker, 74, of Hobart, Okla., will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hobart Rose Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hackey-Gish Funeral Home, Hobart.
Mr. Baker died Friday at his home.
He was born May 29, 1928 to Floyd Edward and Gertrude Mae Fortner Baker.
Mr. Baker lived all but seven years of his live in Hobart. He worked for  White’s Auto, the city of Hobart and at North American Aviation in Los Angeles.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Keith Baker; and a daughter, Terry Lynn Baker.
Mr. Baker is survived by his mother, Gertrude Freels of Weatherford, Okla.; daughters, Koleta Gail Hooper and Yulonda Kay Starr, both of Palestine; sons, Andy Baker of Idaho and Mark Raymond Baker of Hobart; sister, Charlene  Jackson of Weatherford, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
