Cody Fredrick Fremont Deville, Sr., 28, of Baytown, Texas died Monday, November 21, 2016 in Houston, Texas.

Services for Cody will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Interment will follow at Reeves cemetery.

Cody was born June 7, 1989 in Baytown, Texas to parents, Fredrick Deville and Julie Ann Thibodeaux Deville. He was a 2009 graduate of Dayton High School. He loved spending time with his family and especially taking care of his boys. Cody enjoyed fun times and gambling.

Cody was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joyce and Fremont Deville.

He is survived by his parents, Johnny and Julie Vestal and Fredrick Deville; his grandparents, Howard and Ruth Thibodeaux; sons, Cody Deville, Jr. and Jackson Deville; brothers, Ty Vestal, Justin Vestal, and Ray Vestal, Jr. and wife Brittany; sisters, Mechell Hicks and husband Brad and Kimberly Ardoin and Keith, Sr.; nephews, Keith Ardoin, Jr. and Jadin Vestal; nieces, Baylie Deville and Rebecca Hicks; numerous other relatives and friends; also his pets, KC and Nibbles Deville.

Spurgeon

Buster Spurgeon, Jr., 57, of Dayton, Texas died Thursday November 17, 2016 with his beloved wife by his side.

Buster was born June 30, 1959 in Seminole, Texas to parents, Buster Spurgeon and Lois Carter Spurgeon. He was a long time resident of Dayton and Liberty. Buster had worked as a crane coordinator/supervisor for Mammoet, USA. Buster enjoyed woodworking, grilling and, working in his yard. He especially enjoyed his roses and rose trees. He loved his family and spoiling his grandchildren when they were young.

Mr. Spurgeon was preceded in death by his father, Buster Spurgeon; brothers, Thomas Spurgeon and Bruce Spurgeon and, his sister, Brenda Jordan. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ladonna Brantley Spurgeon of Dayton; mother, Lois Spurgeon of Dayton; daughters, Leslie Renea Hutchins and husband, Rex, Jr. of Dayton and Adrian Dawn Meche and husband Joey of Dayton; sisters, Sharlet Seamon and husband Terry of North Carolina and Rhonda Spurgeon of Liberty; grandchildren, Tyler, Todd and Tiffanie of Dayton; as well as his fur baby, Silver Bullet; numerous other relatives and friends

Service for Mr. Spurgeon will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be, Tyler Rolirad, Todd Rolirad, Scott Meche, Cole Meche, Joey Meche, Doug Allen, Bubba Seymour, Anthony Dues, Brett Taylor and, Pete Balbas.

Haidusek

Gertrude “Trudy” Novelene Haidusek, 97, resident of Liberty, Texas died Saturday, November 19, 2016 in Liberty, Texas.

She was born on October 18, 1919 in Cleveland, Texas one of eight children to Robert and Emma Lang Brock. Trudy was a former member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Dayton. She used to love to sew and was once a seamstress.

Trudy was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 32 years Charlie Haidusek; her son Charles E. Haidusek; her great-grandson Garrett Haidusek; her 7 siblings and adopted sister Bobbie Jean Hutchinson. She leaves behind to cherish her memory hers sons Paul E. Haidusek and wife Bette of Devers and Don Haidusek and wife Cathy of Devers; her daughter-in-law Shirley Haidusek of Devers; her grandchildren Lee Chambers and husband Tommy, Andy Haidusek and wife Harribeth, Anya McInnis and husband Kevin, Gigi VanDeventer and husband Dan, Sonya George and fiancé Jeff Naizy, Cammie Beasley and husband Dwight, Charlotte Rainwater and husband Wade, Paul Haidusek and wife Dana, Jennifer Miller, Joey Haidusek and wife Jessica and John Haidusek and wife Nicole; her 21 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Trudy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Honoring the family and serving as pallbearers will be Andy Haidusek, Paul Haidusek, Joey Haidusek, John Haidusek, Dan VanDeventer, Dwight Beasley and Tommy Chambers.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5pm until 7pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home located at 601 N. Main Street in Dayton with a rosary beginning at 6:30pm. A graveside service and Rite of Committal will be held at 10am on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. In lieu of the usual remembrances, memorial contributions may be made in Trudy’s honor to the American Heart Association, P.O. Hardin

Lydia C. “Cathy” Hardin, 67, of Dayton, died Thursday, November 17, 2016, in Baytown.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2016, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with services concluding at the funeral home.

Cathy was born March 6, 1949 in Beckley, West Virginia to parents; Leonard and Betty Light Prater, a former resident of Channelview, and has resided in Dayton for the past 10 years. She was a retired document controller for the oil and gas industry and a former volunteer for the March of Dimes. She also enjoyed her dogs, computers, and especially spending time with her family.

Mrs. Hardin was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter: Faith Neault. She is survived by her husband of 44 years: Ted Hardin of Dayton, son: James “Jimbo” Prater and wife Crystal of Kenefick, daughters: Catrina Neault and husband Jamie of Dayton and Tonya Prater of Channelview, stepdaughter: Dawn Allbritton and husband Brit of Arizona, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, numerous other relatives, and friends.

Jaynes

Beth Ann Jaynes, 56, of Dayton, Texas, died Monday, November 14, 2016 in Conroe, Texas.

She was born on August 1, 1960 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Rollie and Flo Lynn Hall Jaynes. Beth Ann graduated from Alvin High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and her Master’s degree from Prairie View A&M. Beth Ann most recently worked for Cleveland ISD, where she spent the last 6 years of her career in education. She relocated 15 years ago to the Dayton area from College Station, Texas.

Beth Ann had many hobbies, some of which included her cats, flower gardening, quilting and crafting, baking and cooking. She was a member of the First Baptist Church Dayton, a member of the church’s quilting club and was active in their Youth Pumpkin Patch.

Beth Ann was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sister Karen Holcomb and husband Ron of Dayton; her brother Derrel Jaynes and wife Elizabeth Marion of Houston; her nephews Ryan Jaynes and wife Catha of Houston, Stuart Jaynes and wife Courtney of Houston and Brent Jaynes; her nieces Holly Jaynes-Prude and husband Hunter of Houston and Jessica Holcomb of Dayton; her great-nephew and great-niece Henry and Lily Jaynes; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Beth Ann will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Honoring the family and serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Jaynes, Stuart Jaynes, Brent Jaynes, Hunter Prude, Alex Barton and Grant Stoesser.

A graveside service and committal will be held at 10am on Saturday, November 19, 2016 in Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 11am at First Baptist Church, 202 E. Houston Street, Dayton, Texas.

Keener

Mr. Lutcher Keener was born of Ed Keener and Emma Keener on December 7, 1924 in Hardin, Texas, he later moved to Liberty, Texas. He was the youngest of thirteen children. He attended Hardin School.

Lutcher Keener united with the Olive Bethel Baptist Church at an early age. Later, he became a member at the Mt. Rose Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher, Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School, and Deacon. He was very devoted to the church.

He was a loving husband to the late Annabelle Keener and an outstanding father to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to cook for everyone. He was a hard worker who provided for his family. He had a great way of making you smile through any situation.

Lutcher departed this life on November 12, 2016 and is survived by one son: Dr. Robert Moore; two daughters: Jean Moore and Sandra Jackson (Ronald); seven grandchildren: Dr. Robin Moore, Robert Moore Jr., Cassandra Morrison (David), Alex Morrison (Ruth), Rhonda Moore, Micah Johnson, and Anna Jackson; eight great grandchildren Tyler Booker, Sierra Morrison, Kayl Morrison, Trey Booker, Tristan Morrison, Duante Johnson, Raina Moore and Cameron Thornton; two godchildren Reggie Swift and Jeremy Swift and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Wells Funeral Services in the Althea P. Gibson Chapel on Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.. He will lie-in-state Monday, November 21, 2016, at 10:30 AM – Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church, 808 Washington St., Liberty Texas, Services begins 12:00 noon.

Rev. L. C. Speights is officiating.

Interment: Live Oak Memorial Park cemetery - Beaumont, Texas.

Wells Funeral Services at 300 Alabama Street, Liberty, Texas has been entrusted with final arrangements.

Thompson

S.V. Thompson Sr., of Daisetta, died on Wednesday November 16, 2016 at Liberty Health Care Center. He was 78.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday November 19, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at First Assembly of God Church of Daisetta, with Reverend Lamar Shane officiating. Interment will follow at Hardin Chapel cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are James Holman, Nicholas Radacy, Buddy Thompson, Tyler Martin, Layson McCallon, Timmy Slusher.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday November 18, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. also at First Assembly of God Church in Daisetta.

S.V. was born June 5, 1938 in Pitkin, Louisiana, to Hadley Thompson and Nellie Perkins. He had been part of the Hull-Daisetta community since 1974 and was retired from the oilfield and attended the First Assembly of God Church of Daisetta.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, D.C. Thompson and sisters, Annie Mae Willis and Doris Mae Blanchard.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara "Bobbie" Thompson of Daisetta, son, S.V. Thompson Jr. better known as "Buddy" of Daisetta, daughters, Cindy Gail Martin of Pitkin, LA, Norma Jean Carroll of Pitkin, LA, and Claudette Marie Thompson of Hardin.

Grandchildren are Jennifer Martin, Haley Martin, Brett Martin, Chastity Carroll, Amber Martin, Tyler Martin, Nicolette Carroll, Katlin Martin, Landin Martin and Anna Turney.

Great grandchildren are Kennon Ordner, Hadlee McCallon, Hunter McCallon, Braeyson McCallon, Raeanne Martin, McKenna Nowlin, Kyleigh Nowlin, Brilynn Carroll, Jevfinn Nolan, Vallynn Radacy and Evangelynn Radacy.

Howell

Evelyn “Carol” Keck Howell, 71, of Dayton, died Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at the Magnolia Place Nursing Home in Liberty.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2016, at the Pace-Stancil funeral Home Chapel with services concluding thereafter. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Carol was born January 3, 1945 in Liberty, to parents; Chester and Hattie Keck, and has been a lifelong resident of Dayton. She was a neonatal nurse’s aide at the Memorial Hermann Hospital, and nanny for the Holste family. She also enjoyed cooking and animals.

Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Dean Keck and John Keck, nephew: John L. “Joker” Keck, and great-nephew: Codi Keck. She is survived daughter: Lori “Brooke” Chance and husband Cody Sears, sisters: Dana Ruth Keck Gillen of Tarkington Prairie and Glynn Rains of Dayton, grandchildren: Ryland and Skylar Sears, nieces and nephews: Dean, Susie, Patrick, Jodie, Kim, Charlie, and Dana, 10 great-nieces and nephews, 14 great great-nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mifflin

Carlton Lee Mifflin, 74, of Dayton died Monday, November 14, 2016 in Houston after an extended illness.

Graveside service for Mr. Mifflin will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2016 at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton with Rev. Mike Blackburn officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

Carlton was born October 7, 1942 in High Island, Texas to parents Cecil G. Mifflin and Myrtle Razor Mifflin. He was a lifelong resident of Dayton and attended Dayton High School. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Carlton loved cooking and being with his family. He proudly served in the United States Navy.

Carlton was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Harold Mifflin, and his sisters, Lillie Flowers and Naomi Ripkowski. He is survived by brothers, James Mifflin and wife Jeanette of Dayton; sisters, Georgia Daniel of Livingston, and Frances Turner and husband George of Conroe; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Williams

Linda Ruth (Pinky) Williams, 70, died peacefully on November 12, 2016, at her home in Ames, Texas.

Visitation will be a Wells Funeral Services in the Althea P. Gibson Chapel on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 1:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.. She will lie-in-state Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 9:00 AM – Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, 101 Donatto St., Liberty, Texas. The Rosary will begin 10:00 AM, mass will begin at 11:00 AM.

Father Ayo Efodigbue MSP is officiating.

Interment will be at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic cemetery, Ames Texas.
