Trahan

Lameka Anne Trahan, age 40 of Baytown, died in Baytown, TX October 31, 2016.

Lameka was born June 18, 1976 in Baytown, TX. She attended Liberty High School and graduated in 1994. Lameka then went on and received a bachelor’s degree from McNeese State University and then attended Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, TX where she received her Doctorate of Jurist Prudence and graduated with honors Cum Laude. She then received her master’s degree in Juvenile Forensic Psychology from Prairie View A&M University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Lameka was a member of the Rotary Club, Chambers of Commerce, President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and a member of the Liberty ISD Education Foundation Board. She loved spending time with her CPS kids, education and loved her law work. Lameka was also a founding member of TAU Beta Sigma at McNeese State University. It was said that Lameka was a tenacious and passionate attorney, as well as a beautiful, compassionate and loving friend. Her presence in the courtroom will be greatly missed.

Lameka was preceded in death by her father; Lloyd Trahan Sr, grandparents; Bernett “Succoon” and Eula Mae Trahan and her loving dog; Meshach. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband; Arthur Henry of Baytown, TX, brothers; Lloyd Trahan Jr and Lance Trahan both of Ames, TX, grandparents; Alvin and Teresa Mallet of Ames, TX, In-Laws; Arthur Henry Jr and Ruth Henry of Ames, TX, sister-in-law; Kandis Henry of Ames, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for Lameka Anne Trahan will be Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 11am at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, Ames, TX with burial to follow at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton, TX. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service from 9am to 11am. Delta Sigma Theta’s Omega Omega Service will be held at 10:30am. Services are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX.

Fregia

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

George Edward “Eddie” Fregia, 67, of Hardin passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016 in Liberty.

Visitation will be 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Batson Prairie Baptist Church. Services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Batson Prairie Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

Eddie was born October 12, 1949 in Liberty, Texas to parents James E. Fregia and Marie Ray Fregia. He graduated from Zapata High School in 1969 and had been a lifelong resident of the Hardin Liberty area. Eddie had previously worked for Potetz Home Center in Cleveland and was a longtime roofer. He enjoyed saltwater fishing and antique cars.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Sorrell Fregia and brother Locke Fregia. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Denni Melancon Fregia of Hardin; son, Jamie Fregia of Devers; daughter, Vicki Tannos and husband Paul of Conroe; sister, Jackie Anderson and husband Jimmie of LaPorte; grandchildren, Hayden Fregia, Dalton Fregia, Mary Alison Tannos, Grace Tannos, and Justin Tannos; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Clevenger

Faye Diana Clevenger age 65 of Liberty died Monday October 31, 2016 at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital.

Faye was born in Chicago, Illinois December 26, 1950 the daughter of the late Raymond Riedy and Arlene McLain Riedy. Faye enjoyed reading, caring for her garden, and craft work. She was a graduate of Lamar University where she received her degree in Earth Science. She worked for numerous years as a Senior Accountant at Service Corporation International and then worked for Carriage Services. She last worked as Life Skills Aide at Liberty High School. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of forty-one years Hoyt R. Clevenger Jr. of Liberty, her daughter Cori Raylene Clevenger of Liberty, sister Ruth Craig of Madison, Wisconsin, and her two brothers Roy W. Riedy of Liberty and Jack Riedy of Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Visitation for Faye will be held Thursday November 3, 2016 from 5-8 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church of Liberty. Funeral Services to be held 10AM Friday November 4, 2016 at the church with burial to follow in Cooke Memorial cemetery.

Biehunko

Barbara Kay Biehunko (Helton), 73 of Humble, Texas died October 31, 2016 in Porter, Texas after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Barbara was born in Houston, Texas to Lilly Mae (Helton) Robinson and Lloyd Helton on February 14, 1943. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin HS in Houston, Texas. She married her high school sweetheart, Frank Biehunko Jr., on October 13, 1961. Frank precedes her in death. She was a book keeper for several companies and retired as the Office Manager from St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Humble, TX in December 2011. She was also a co-owner of Texas Flip Factory All-Star Cheerleading gym in Humble, Texas. She was a member of the daughters of the American Revolution. She was an amazing volunteer in both her community and church. She enjoyed her family and trips with them. She was an extensive traveler, having traveled to the Holy Lands 4 times with St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, along with attending mass at the Vatican. She was blessed to travel to many countries with her church and have many amazing experiences along the way.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Frank Biehunko; mother Lilly Robinson; step-father Charles Robinson; father Lloyd Helton; step-mother Maddie Helton.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Jody Biehunko; and daughter and son-in-law, Kristina and Stacy Williams. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: David Allison, Jr; Katie Biehunko Vann; Kelsie Biehunko Ziriax; Alyssa Williams and step-granddaughter Meagan Sanchez, along with 2 great grandchildren, Myles Ziriax and Cade Vann and 5 step-great grandchildren: Kursten DeLeon; Cameron Young; Maddie Ziriax; Stella Sanchez and Aven Sanchez.

Visitation will be held at Allison Funeral Home, 1101 North Travis in Liberty Texas on Wednesday - November 2nd from 5:00-8:00 P.M.. Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 411 Milam in Liberty Texas on Thursday - November 3rd at 10:00 AM with burial to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association, for research, at www.alz.org.

Berryhill

Jacqueline Allemang Berryhill died peacefully on Thursday, October 20, 2016, in Liberty, Texas, at the age of 90.

Born on September 27, 1926, in Honey Island, Texas, she graduated from Saratoga High School and worked in Houston, Texas, during World War II. After her marriage to Ernest, the two of them worked together to offer a home built on the love of Jesus and a love for each other. Her two daughters were blessed beyond measure to grow up within that circle of love. Jackie greatly enjoyed being a wife and mother. She was a faithful Christian to her Lord and served as a Sunday School Teacher and G.A. Leader for years. She was an excellent seamstress and cook. Her Christmas divinity and fudge were straight from Heaven’s kitchen. She deeply loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren and they loved her in return.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest F. Berryhill, Jr., in 1985 after 40 years of marriage. Also preceding her in death: mother, Pallie Allemang; father and step-mother, Ira E. Allemang, Sr. and Trudie Allemang; brother, Ira E. Allemang, Jr. and sister, Frances Watts.

Those left to carry on and lovingly remember her: Daughters: Mary Frances Badger and husband, Jim of Sugar Land; Rose Marie Giese, and husband, Ross of Liberty. Grandchildren: Matt Giese and wife, Julie; OBrien King, and husband Daniel; Becki Smith, and husband Brad; Miles Melbert, and wife, Allie; and Ryan Giese, and wife, Tori. Great- Grandchildren: Marlee, Mace, Sawyer and Beckham Melbert; Peyton and Mackenzie Bragg; Emily and Heather Smith, Conner Giese, and Mollie Giese. Great-great grandchildren: Spencer and Presley Mollett. She loved her extended family and three special friends: Sammy Stinnett, Dorothy Hajovsky, and Ethel Moor. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Angels Above Us for their years of tender care and more recently to Magnolia Place Health Care and the Gentiva Hospice group, including Megan and Kerry, who helped to take care of our beloved Mother and Grammy.

Services for Jacqueline Allemang Berryhill were held Monday, October 24, 2016 at 11am at Hardin Baptist Church with burial at Hardin Chapel cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX.

Blanton

Ruth Maxine Blanton age 89 of Liberty, died Wednesday October 26, 2016 in Houston.

Ruth was born May 2, 1927 in Liberty, Texas the daughter of the late Richard Lewis Pattillo Sr. and Ruby Lillian Chambliss Pattillo. Ruth was a homemaker, and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Liberty. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, embroidering, and doodling. She was a simple lady who always did for others.

Besides her parents Ruth was preceded in death by her husband A.J. Blanton Sr., brothers Richard L. Pattillo Jr. and Wm. A. Pattillo, and a sister Letha McInturff.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons: Richard Blanton; A.J. Blanton Jr.; Randy Blanton and his wife Donna; and Mark Blanton. In addition she also leaves her five beloved grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation for Ruth will be held Friday October 28, 2016 from 5-8 P.M. at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral Services to be held 10AM Saturday October 29, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Liberty. Burial to take place in Cooke Memorial cemetery.

Elliott

Betty Lucy Rice Elliott, 88, of Dayton, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Methodist Memorial Hospital’s Hospice Unit in Baytown, Texas.

Ms. Elliott was a long time resident of Dayton. She and the late Dr. Shelby M. Elliott moved to Dayton in 1952 to set up his chiropractic practice. Betty was a native of Tennessee and grew up in Paducah, Kentucky where she graduated from Paducah Tilghman High School and Draughn’s Business College. She married Dr. Elliott in 1947. They had four children.

In addition to her business college degree, she received her Bachelor of Science in Teaching and Learning from the University of Houston and her Masters Degree from Sam Houston State University. After receiving her teaching certification, she was an educator in the Liberty Independent School District from 1972 to 1976, Dayton Independent School District from 1976 to 1990, and in the Windham School District at the L.V. Hightower Prison Unit near Dayton prior to retirement. All this after raising her family.

During her 64 years in Dayton, she also taught piano, was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed quilting and ballroom dancing. She was also past president of the Texas Chiropractic Association Auxiliary. Her real passion became teaching Sunday school at the First Baptist Church in Dayton. In fact she taught her seniors Sunday school class as recent at Sunday, October 16th. In addition, over the years, she has researched, cataloged and holds many, many binders of scriptures underlying all the Sunday school lessons over her many years in the church. She was a true Christian who loved and supported her church family.

Betty is survived by three sons: Dr. Steve Miller Elliott and wife Laurie of Liberty, Terry Mark Elliott and wife Wannette (Net) of Houston, and Vance Rice Elliott and wife Heather of Columbus: nine grandchildren, Michael Vinson Elliott, Richard Miller Elliott, Dr. Joshua Byron Elliott, Rebecca Diane James, Stacey Marie Elliott, Blake Allen Elliott, Travis Osborne and wife Mary, Rhonda Kunzler and husband Rick, Kenny Rogers and wife Terri; and twelve great grandchildren, Andrew Lee Elliott, Caleb Dean Elliott, Brycelynn Dawn James, Blake Jordan James, Bridgette Susan James, Blain Elliott James, Mitchell Kunzler and wife Lindsay, Matthew Kunzler and wife Sarah, Patrick Kunzler, Rachelle Kunzler, Elyse Kunzler, Michael Norris and wife Meghan and one great great grandchild, Koby Kunzler.

She is also survived by nieces and nephews; Linda Bucy and husband Edward, Brenda Smith and husband Tony, Frank Rankin and wife Vickie of Tennessee; Laura Thacker, Linda Leary, Jack Glenn Smith, Norma Jill Hobson, Marie Louise Elliott, Shirly Elliott Nevin, Nancy Ruth O’Grady, Allan Joseph Elliott, Mark A. Elliott, Rene’ Lemer, and Rick A. Elliott.

Betty was preceded in death by her daughter Debra Diane. Also by her parents, Rufus and Nellie Rice, and her sister Jenny Rice Rankin of Tennessee, and one great grandson, Cody Norris who was killed in service in Afghanistan.

Visitation for family and friends is scheduled from 5pm to 8pm, Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Dayton on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at 3pm. Burial will follow in Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to First Baptist Church of Dayton Food Pantry, 202 E. Houston St., Dayton, TX 77535

Fillips

Adolf Emil Fillips, age 78 of Alvin, Texas died Monday, October 24, 2016 at UTMB-Jennie Sealy Hospital, Galveston, Texas.

Adolf was born on May 3, 1938 in Liberty, Texas and was a resident of Alvin for 45 years. He was a heavy equipment mechanic at Amoco Chemical Plant for 28 years and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Adolf was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Fillips parents, Adolf and Rosie Fillips, grandchildren, Joy Daniel Nelson and Ashby Fillips.

Adolf is survived by his daughter, Susan Simpson, sons, Karl Fillips, Robert Fillips and wife, Patricia, sister, Audrey Urban, 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Friday, October 28, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with a rosary being recited at 4:30 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 29, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 110 East South Street, Alvin, Texas. Interment will follow at the Resurrection cemetery, Pearland, Texas.

Rubye N. McKaskle Darby, 89, of Dayton, died Saturday, October 22, 2016, at the Oakmont Health and Rehab Center in Humble.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2016, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with burial following at Palms Memorial Park cemetery in Dayton. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Rubye was born March 30, 1927 in Winnsboro, Louisiana, to parents; William H. and Mary M. Sims McKaskle, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Dayton for the past 26 years. She was a graduate of Winnsboro High School, a retired rate clerk for DSI Transport, former president of the Houston Women’s Transportation Group, and a former bowling instructor. Rubye held memberships in the First Baptist Church of Dayton as well as the church choir and Order of Eastern Star. She also enjoyed plastic canvas crafts, reading, travel, and was an avid Houston sports fan as long as her teams were winning.

Mrs. Darby was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 22 years: Enoch T. Darby, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her son: Gary Darby and wife Linda of Humble, daughter: Cheryl Dreier and husband Keith of Dayton, grandchildren: Ronnie Tiemann and wife Dee Anna, Colin Darby and wife Patricia, Randy Dreier and wife Brooke, Sean Darby, great-grandchildren: Mason Moore, Sean Patrick Darby, Ella Moore, Lily Darby, Baldur Darby, Tyr Darby, Violet Colleen Darby, Rose Ember Darby, and one on the way, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Ainsworth

Marilyn Kay Ainsworth of Hardin, died Wednesday October 19, 2016 at Houston Hospice surrounded by her family. She was 61.

A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday October 24, 2016 at Faith & Family Funeral Services with Reverend Bill Campbell and Reverend Jose Flores officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends also on Monday October 24, 2016 at Faith & Family from 11:00 A.M. until service time.

Marilyn was born March 12, 1955, in Dayton, TX, to Sterling Radford Davis and Lucille Fregia. She lived in the Liberty County area since 1980 and worked for the Texas Home Health Care.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Columbus "Littleman" Radford Davis.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are her husband, JD Ainsworth of Hardin, sons, Kayce DeWayne Ainsworth of Hardin and Sterling Ray Davis and wife Ashley of Batson, daughter, Jenice Dawn Kayle Lucille Ainsworth of Liberty and sister, Elaine Ard and husband Lonnie of Batson.

Infant son of Timothy Wayne Moffett and Chelsea Messer, of Rye, TX, died on Sunday October 16, 2016 at Kngwood Medical Center.

He is survived by his grandparents, Dorothy Moffett of Votaw, Delores Messer of Hardin Co., Jack Messer of Hardin Co., Maxine Moffett of Votaw, Ernie Moffett of Votaw and Richard Zwahr of Votaw.
