Willoughby

Ellen (Jo) Willoughby, 98, went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2016, surrounded by her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory her three sons and their families, Mike and wife Kay, Gary and wife Linda and Pete. Grandchildren are Wendi, Ellen, Jill (Norm), Julie (Kevin), Suzanne (Donald), Robert, Amy (Jay), and Becky (JJ). Fifteen great-grandchildren brought her so much joy- Jack, Mollie, Cooper, Annie, Taylor, Gavin, Kyle, Josh, Kaylie, Macy, Luke, Loren, Sydney, Baxter and Casey. Other family members include numerous nieces and nephews.

Known as “Mimi” to many, she was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Liberty where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She also volunteered in the schools by reading to young children.

She is preceded in death by her husband C.M. Willoughby Jr.; and daughter-in-law Jo Beth Willoughby. The family would especially like to express their gratitude to Dr. Don Callens and the staff at the Liberty Dayton Medical Center for providing such wonderful care. Special thanks to Megan from Gentiva Hospice for her care and compassion during Mimi’s final days. Mimi’s family finds comfort knowing she was greeted in heaven with love and told well-done, good and faithful servant.

As an expression of sympathy, contributions may be made to the Liberty First United Methodist Church or to the Jo Beth Willoughby Teaching Grant through the Liberty ISD Education Foundation.

Services for Ellen Willoughby will be Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at 2pm at the First United Methodist Church in Liberty. Visitation will be Monday, September 26, 2016, from 5pm to 7pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX.

Ellis

William Robert Ellis, 57, of Wharton, died Friday, September 16, 2016, in Rosenberg.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Services will follow starting at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Pace Stancil Chapel with burial following at Evergreen cemetery.

William was born July 23, 1959 in Pasadena, to parents; Joe and Elizabeth Dagley Ellis, a former resident of Kemah, and has resided in Wharton for the past eight years. He was a truck driver for Mid-State Packaging and former truck driver with Enterprise Trucking and A&R Trucking. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing golf, and was a proud member of AA with 29 years of sobriety.

Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of eight years: Edith Kempf Rowlands of Wharton, her children: Caroline York and husband Jeff of El Campo and Patricia Cullar and husband Jared of Wharton, brother: Michael Ellis of Palacios, sister: Jody Sellers of Fulshear, his animal companion: Precious, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Hahn

Jessie B Hahn 87, of Anahuac, TX. died Sept. 20, 2016.

A Memorial Service will be held 2 P.M., Friday, Sept. 23, 2016 at First United Methodist Church, 204 Trinity St. Anahuac, TX. 77514. Pastor Kelly S. Krone.

Jessie B Hahn was born April 16, 1929 to Reverend James Cleveland Monk and Ethel Maybelle Monk. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years Guerry L. Hahn Sr., three daughters: Rene Sloan, Leighanne Cobb, and Sherri Hahn Garvin.

She is preceded in death by son: Guerry L. Hahn Jr; who is survived by widow: Deanna Hahn Anderson. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren are Trina Mata, husband Jaime, and sons Matthew and Micah; Randy Sloan and children Zara, Cassandra, Dalton and Charles; Amy Pickens and son Trevor; John Cobb, wife Robin and son Nicholas; Errick Hahn, wife Marlana and children Makenzy and Camryn; Brittany Boccher, husband Adam and children Harper and Blake; Laura Delz and husband Jess; Tyler Garvin and girlfriend Rebecca Chachere and a host of family and friends.

She will be remembered as everyone’s Grandma. There was never a time that she didn’t have a smile on her face, an embracing hug and a hot meal for anyone who walked into her kitchen. When you were with her you felt how much she loved you. She and Grandpa showed us all what true love really meant. She will be dearly missed by many.

Vann

Kimberley Ashton Vann, 48, died Wednesday, September 21, 2016, in Liberty, Texas.

She was born February 6, 1968 in Winchester, Massachusetts to Richard Edward Ashton and Diane Silva Ashton. Kim was the third child in a family of five girls. She was a 1986 graduate of Liberty High School, where she excelled in tennis. Kim graduated from Lee College with a degree in Medical Records. She worked many years in the Medical Center in Houston, for Magnolia Place in Liberty, and for the City of Liberty.

Kim was very proud of her boys Christopher and Jonathon Vann. She was able to see both of them graduate from college and find the love of their lives. Kim was a Christian, and attended Heights Baptist Church at an early age and later joined North Main Baptist Church. She led her family through her strength and selflessness. Kim was always thinking of others, caring for her family and putting others first, even during her illness.

Kim was a devoted Astros and Texans fan, and loved being outside. During the cooler months she could be found fishing, hunting, and camping with her husband Randy and her boys. She enjoyed watching her children play sports. During their high school years you would find her behind home plate taking pictures of her boys. She loved the few years her family lived in New Mexico, spending time in the mountains skiing or riding snowmobiles with her family. Most recently, Kim and her husband were able to venture to Alaska on her dream vacation. Her loving spirit will be greatly missed.

Kim is preceded in death by her father Richard Edward Ashton. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 29 years Randy Vann, her children Chris Vann and his wife Katie Biehunko Vann, Jonathon Vann and Kali Davenport, her mother Diane Ashton, her sisters Victoria Norville and her husband Joseph, Susan Peters and her husband Sam, Cindy Hugaboon, Pamela Bond and her husband Chris, sister in law Norma Herrera, brother in law Riley Vann; nieces and nephews, Sarah Norville, Brianna Peters, Colton Peters, Matthew Hugaboon, Ashton Hugaboon, Kyle Hugaboon, Cody Bond, Emily Bond, Claire Bond, Melissa and Chris Horn, Eric and Lacie Wisdom, Jennifer Clifton, Tiffany and John Nye and numerous great nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to caregivers Ruth Benton, Ashton Hugaboon, Dr. Vanessa Holland, Dr. Stanly Appel along with his Neurology team and Gentiva hospice.

Visitation for Kim will be held Friday September 23, 2016 from 5-8 P.M.. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Saturday September 24, 2016. Both services will be held at North Main Baptist Church, 4709 N. Main St. Liberty, Texas. Burial to follow at Cooke Memorial cemetery in Liberty, TX. Donations can be made in memory of Kim Vann to the ALS Association TX Chapter, which can be mailed to 1213 Hermann Dr. Suite 525, Houston TX 77004, or online at alstexas.org. Gradney

Magdalen Sterling Gradney, age 77, of Raywood, TX died September 19, 2016 at her residence.

Magdalen was born September 18, 1939 in Liberty, TX, daughter of the late Leo Sterling SR and Eva Stelly Sterling. She attended Woodson High School in Raywood and then went on to receive her degree and license as a nurse. Magdalen worked as a nurse’s aid at Mercy Hospital and then worked as a nurse at Yettie Hospital for thirty plus years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Ladies Auxiliary for fifty-two years, Rosary Group and worked the election polls for thirty plus years. Magdalen was all about family and church. She loved her Louisiana trips and loved cooking for her family. She was famous for her pecan candy, cowboy stew, bread pudding and her crawfish boils.

Magdalen was preceded in death by her parents, and sister; Sherline Meyers.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of fifty-nine years; Vernon Gradney Sr of Raywood, daughters; Grezelda Ligons and husband Lloyd of Dayton, Trina Lemond and husband Fred of Raywood, son; Vernon Gradney Jr and wife Angel of Mt. Belvieu, sisters; Pauline Caballero, Evangelin Bell and husband Joseph, brothers; Leo Sterling Jr and wife Lorita, Louis Sterling and wife Gloria, Lawrence Sterling and wife LaDell, sister-in-law; Annette Scott and husband Richard, brother-in-law; Robert Gradney Sr and wife Marva, grandchildren: Randy (Sidnee), Meghan (Shelby), Lloyd Jr (Kim), Justin (Megan), Andrew, Kristin (Joshua), Vernon III “Trey”, and ten great-grandchildren, John Lane Freeman and Fredrick Freeman (sons to us).

Services for Magdalen Sterling Gradney will be Friday, September 23, 2016 at 11am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Raywood with burial to follow at Sacred Heart cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service from 9am to 11am with a rosary being said at 10am. Services are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX.

Mosley

Ieshea Lawana Mosley age 47 died Tuesday September 13, 2016 in Houston.

Ieshea was born in Houston, Texas August 1, 1969 the daughter of Sidney Mosley and Carlon Mallett. Ieshea was a graduate of Hull-Daisetta High School class of 1989. Throughout her years she worked for several home health agencies in Medical Billing.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Ethel Mallett and Walter Mallett Sr.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters Marquita Patton (Ronald) and Chincia Caddie, sons Wil Caddie and Chaz Caddie, mother Carlon Papillion, father Sidney Mosley, sisters Dawn Papillion and Alicia Papillion, and a brother Damian Willis. In addition she also leaves two grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A funeral mass will be celebrated 11Am Saturday September 24, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Raywood, Texas. Rosary service to be held at 10AM and visitation will begin at 9am. Burial will be held in Mosley cemetery.

Skrabanek

Michael Glenn Skrabanek, 60, of Dayton, Texas, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 17, 2016.

He was born on July 19, 1956 in Baytown, Texas to Vernon E. and Alice Roeder Skrabanek.

Mike graduated from Sterling High School in Baytown. He was a carpenter who loved motorcycles and dirt bikes. Mike also loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed sports, coaching and was also a member of an Over 55 Dirt Bike group, racing dirt bikes.

Mike was preceded in death by his father; and his brother Donald Skrabanek. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter Janna Flynn and husband Austin of Ankeny, Iowa; his sons Tyler Skrabanek and Casey Skrabanek of Dayton; his grandchildren Ethan Jett and Evie Flynn and Bentley Grace and Easton Lane Skrabanek; his mother Alice Skrabanek of Highlands, Texas; his siblings Kay Corrigan and husband Kent, Jim Skrabanek and wife Mary and Kenneth Skrabanek and wife Mary Alice; his sister-in-law Ann Souby Skrabanek; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Mike will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Mullinax

Mary L. Henderson Mullinax, 64, of Dayton, died Sunday, September 18, 2016, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2016, at the Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Mary was born December 10, 1951 in Little Rock, Arkansas, to parents; Floyd J. and Jacqueline Bolt Henderson, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Dayton for the past 34 years. She was a graduate of Reagan High School class of 1969 and was a homemaker. She also enjoyed painting, gardening, canning, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Mullinax was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 35 years: Tony Mullinax of Dayton, son: Nolan Eugene Harper of Magnolia, daughters: Robin Rene Roseman and husband Robert of Dayton and Misty Mullinax of Dayton, sister: Linda Graves and husband Bubba of Dayton, grandchildren: Shelby, Colton, Ryan, Tyler, and Reese, nephews: Mike Graves and wife Jana and Chris Graves, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Stone

Angele Yvonne Stone loving mother, daughter, and wife, age forty died Thursday September 15, 2016 in Houston.

Angele was born in Liberty, Texas January 22, 1976 the daughter of Robert Walters and Beryl Taylor Walters.

Angele had an infectious personality; you were drawn to her warm smile and her amazing laugh. Angele was always willing to help in any way that was needed.

A graduate of Hardin High School she was named a two time All State Basketball Player and was active in the band as well as the flag core.

As a volunteer she was active every year with the Burnham Classic and the Invitational golf tournaments.

She also was the Captain of the Houston Metro Go Texan Committee of Liberty County.

Angele worked as the Office Manager for Dr. Muhammad Athari in Baytown for the past eight years, prior to that she worked as an Office Manager for Dr. Reece Brown and for Dr. Dale Brock.

Angele’s passion and life was for her family and her friends. She could always be counted on in good times and bad.

Her one thing that she cherished more than anything else was her son Cameron.

She was so proud of the young man he is and is becoming. She also was the ultimate golf caddie, beach goer, and crawfish eater.

She loved her Longhorns and her Texans, and amongst friends and family many a Football Sunday Fun Day or Saturday was held.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Although she left this world entirely too soon her presence will last forever for those family and friends who had the honor and privilege of having been with her. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Joey Stone of Liberty, son Cameron Bird of Liberty, mother Beryl Walters of Liberty, father Robert D. Walters and his wife Lynn of Houston, sister Stephanie Secada of Moss Hill, and her brother David Walters and his wife Tiffany of Atascocita. She also leaves her nieces Savanna Dawn Secada and Mattie Secada, as well as a nephew Oscar Secada III. In addition Angele leaves a host of other relatives, friends, co-workers, committee men and woman, and her beloved chocolate lab Axl Rose.

Visitation for Angele will be held Monday September 19, 2016 from 5-8 P.M. at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral Services to be held 2 P.M. Tuesday September 20, 2016 at North Main Baptist Church 4709 N. Main St. Liberty, Texas. Burial to follow the funeral service in Moss Hill Community cemetery. The family requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the Cameron Bird Scholarship Fund, C\O Liberty County Teachers Federal Credit Union 3712 N. Main St. (at Hwy 146) | Liberty, Texas 77575 or to First Liberty National Bank 1900 Sam Houston Liberty, Texas.
