Willcox

Ben T. “Tommy” Willcox, died Monday, April 11, 2016 in Anahuac, Texas.

He was born on February 2, 1945 in Anahuac Texas. He grew up in Anahuac and was raised farming rice and raising cattle. After high school he attended Sam Houston State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1967. That fall he began a 30 year teaching career at Anahuac Middle School where he taught Life Science and Aerospace Education. He also coached athletics for a period of time early in his career and always drove a school bus.

In 1968 he married his high school sweetheart, Marsha Mayes and they made their home in Wallisville. Together they have 3 children, Landis, Ben and Lee Lee. They have 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Tommy later went back and completed his master’s degree in education. Tommy had a servant’s heart and had been involved in many organizations throughout his years. He served on the Bayside Community Hospital Board from 2001 until 2005 and was nominated as board chairman where he served from 2008 until 2016. He was also involved with the Chambers County Youth Project Show for many years and served as YPS livestock chairman as well as assisted with the auction and being an announcer for the shows. He was a member of the TVE Board of Directors for many years. Served on the Chambers County Go Texan Committee for the Houston Livestock Show, with some of those years as committee chairman. He also served on the Waterborne Education Committee, the Wallisville Heritage Park Board of Directors, Chambers County Airport Advisory Committee and served on the Civil Air Patrol Unit.

Tommy touched the lives of so many people in this community including all the students he taught throughout the years. He was respected by many, as a person who is very caring and genuine. He had a witty sense of humor, as well, that always makes you feel at ease around him. He always made time for family, friends and co-workers, and as many know, he loves to talk. He could always make light of any situation and is a great mentor and problem solver. He helped a many a person deal with hardships in their lives and could always make them see the silver lining. He had many hobbies which included traveling, raising cattle, baling hay, deer, duck and alligator hunting, flying his airplane and gardening to name a few.

Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Carroll Willcox. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Marsha Mayes Willcox; his children, Landis Moss and husband Clint of Wallisville, Ben Willcox and wife Sherry of Wallisville and Lee Lee Witherspoon and husband Coy of Anahuac; his grandchildren, Lauren and Hayden Barbeaud, Erin, Brinlee and Maylee Willcox and Fischer and Adelyn Witherspoon; a great-grandson Hudson Hillyer; his mother, Alice Lee Kight Willcox of Anahuac; his mother-in-law, Evelyn Mayes of Wallisville; his brothers, Jesse Willcox and wife Shirley of Beaumont and George Allen Willcox and wife Kay of Anahuac; dear friend, Peggy Armbrister of Wallisville; his dogs, Khloe his head dog, Lady, Spot, Blackie and Puppy; his ranch horse, Scooter; and numerous other extended family and friends.

Honoring the family and serving as pallbearers will be Chris Stephenson, Hayden Barbeaud, Larry Lawrence, Bubba Laskoskie, John Adell, Lonnie Selman, Pete Barbeaud and Allen Willcox. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. John Redman, Dr. Leonidas Andres, Dr. Clay Brown, Dr. Hossein Yazdani, Dr. Anthony Capili, Dr. Ben Beaoui, PA-C, David Jeoffroy, James Bricker, Sylvester Milam, Steve Gularte, Clay Dye, Carroll Richter, Thomas Catchings and Frankie Sullivan.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5pm until 8pm on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home located at 1201 South Main Street in Anahuac. Funeral service will begin at 2pm on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at White’s Park, 225 White Park Road in Anahuac, Texas. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Wallisville cemetery.

Spencer

Arthur Lee Spencer Jr. “Heavy” 68, of Anahuac died Apr. 08, 2016.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, Apr. 12, 2016 from 1 P.M. until 7 P.M. at Proctor’s Mortuary Anahuac, TX.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, Apr. 13, 2016 at St. James United Methodist Church, 1003 Houston St. Anahuac, TX. Visitation will begin at 10AM until funeral at 11AM. Interment will be in Bayshore cemetery.

Cherishing his memories are spouse. Mary Jane Spencer and a host of other family and friends.

LeJeune

Michael Ray “Boudro” LeJeune age 52 died Saturday, April 9, 2016 in Anahuac, Texas.

Boudro was born in Lafayette, Louisiana on August 13, 1963 to Leroy LeJeune and Lillie Mae Richard LeJeune.

He loved to fish, hunt, and anything that had him out on the water. Boudro was a huge fan of NASCAR where he made weekly bets. He loved to spend time at his camp house on the Trinity River.

Everybody on the River knew Boudo and his airboat. He was the “Big Block” on the river. His devotion was too his beloved family.

Trent was the light of his life. He was the best dad a little boy could ask for. He so enjoyed his friends.

He never met a stranger and most of the conversations were about his pitbull in the back of that green dodge truck, Gator will miss him terribly.

He started his career working for American Rice Growers in Louisiana then transferred to Raywood, Texas. He met Tisha in 1991.

She loved him very much and was by his side every single day. In 1994, he went on to work for Warren Petroleum as an I/E Tech for Nesco.

For a short time, he worked for VanLeer Containers in LaPorte as an Electrician.

He left VanLeer and return to Mont Belvieu to become an Analyzer Technician at Targa Midstreams for 15 years.

Then in 2011, he went to work for Energy Transfer as an Analyzer Technician. He made many friends thought out his career.

Everyone knew Boudro the Coonass. In 2012 he suffered a stroke and was unable to return to work. He was heartbroken, but spoke often about the good times and friends from work.

Boudro is preceded in death by his nephew Zachary Armentor, brother-in-law Steve “Steve-O” Menard, and his father-in-law James Anderson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife and best friend Letitia “Tisha” LeJeune of Wallisville, his “Little Booger”, Trent Michael of Wallisville, Parents Leroy and Lillie LeJeune of Welsh, LA, Sisters – Debra Ann Menard of Welsh, LA, Celida Faye “Blacksheep” Armentor and husband Byron of Jennings, LA. Mother-in-law, Linda Anderson of Liberty, Numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. This man made his mark on this Earth and we will forever be grateful for knowing him.

Visitation for Boudro will be held Monday April 11, 2016 from 5-9 P.M. with a Rosary Service to be held at 7 P.M. at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral Services to be held 10AM Tuesday April 12, 2016 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Norris cemetery.

Neal

Margie Burnice Neal, age 87 of Hardin, died at her residence on April 8, 2016.

Margie was born June 20, 1928 in Baytown, Texas. She was the daughter of the late George Washington Golden and Lavada Lee Hicks Golden. Margie and her three sisters were all known as the “Golden Girls”. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and Nursing School at Lee College Nursing School. As an LVN, she was a passionate care-giver working in homes and hospitals, mostly as a private duty nurse. God and family was the highest priority in her life. As a member of Hardin United Pentecostal Church for forty plus years, she served the church as food coordinator for events and funerals. She loved sewing, gardening, cooking and spoiling her fur babies Lady and Lucky. She was known for her amazing pies. Home on “Neal’s Hill” was her favorite place to be.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of forty-four years Wayne Neal, brother; Jack Golden and sisters; Evelyn Barber and Leona Reed. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters; Theresa (Terri) Wilkerson Baker and husband Jim of Houston, TX, Laura (Kathy) Wilkerson Radel of Hardin, TX. Step-sons; Gregory Neal of Pasadena, TX, and Mark Neal and wife Leigh Ann of Hardin TX, Step-daughters; Kathy Green and husband John of Old River, TX and Nancy Neal of Baytown, TX, Sister; Ruth Allen of Crosby and Sister-in-law; Lucy Golden of Northshore, TX. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A service will be held for Margie at 11 AM, Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis, Liberty, TX. A time for visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the Hardin Chapel cemetery, Hardin, TX.

Cruse

Frederick Wayne Cruse 54, of Dayton TX; died Mar. 31, 2016.

A wake Service will be Friday, Apr. 8, 2016 from 6-9 P.M. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 801 S. Colbert St., Dayton, TX.

Funeral will be held Apr. 9, 2016 at First Baptist Church, 202 E. Houston St. Dayton, TX. Visitation from 10AM until funeral at 11AM. Interment will be in Palms Memorial Park, Dayton, TX.

Cherishing his memories are Wife: Ethel G. Cruse. Children: Michael and Kamirra Grays of Dayton, TX. Brothers: Otis Cruse Jr. of Houston, TX; Carl Cruse of Cleveland, TX. Sisters: Deborah (Lovincent) Richard of Houston, TX; Linda (Marvin) Searles of Cleveland, TX; Jacqueline Harris of Houston, TX. Uncles: Phillip Comeaux Sr. of Rayburn, TX; Cecil Comeaux of Houston, TX. Aunts: Gloria Burrell of Cleveland, TX; Carolyn Comeaux of Cleveland, TX; Bertha Cleveland of Cleveland, TX, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Cruse’s services have been entrusted to Proctor's Mortuary (Location in Anahuac, Beaumont, Silsbee and Woodville, TX.) .

Dickens

George W. Dickens, 83, of Dayton died Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at home in Dayton.

Services for Mr. Dickens will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2016 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Palms Memorial Park cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.

George was born April 28, 1932 in Collins Mississippi to parents Corley and Lessie Hatcherson Dickens. He was a former resident of New Orleans before moving to Dayton where he has lived for the past 30 years. A truck driver by trade, George loved his job, motorcycles, and the tending the family plant nursery. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. George read his bible every day.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Corley Dickens, Jr., Norman Dickens, and Dick Gillis; sisters, Irene Britton, Jewel Dickens, Virgie Shoemake, and Louvinia Gillis. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Wanda Joe Dickens of Dayton; daughter, Sharon Bedgood of Collins, Mississippi; grandchildren, Landry and Tiffany; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Presley, Caden, and Carson; sisters, Iris Barrier and husband Darth of Collins, Mississippi, Ella Burnham and husband Stacy of Collins, Mississippi, Alene Welch of Laurel, Mississippi, and Willie Russell of Petal Mississippi; step-sons: Bill Dinsmore and wife Gay of Kenefick and Joe W. Dinsmore and wife Janet of Crosby; step-grandchildren, Leeann, Aaron, Lacy, Daniel, Brandon, Brandie, and Erica Jo; also numerous step-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Rubash

Jim Rubash, age 93, died peacefully while sleeping on April 6, 2016 in Liberty, TX.

Jim was born on September 17, 1922 in St. Andrews, Florida, son of the late John and Mary Rubash. He graduated from Bay County High School and received a degree in civil engineering from University of Florida in 1948. He entered the US Army in July 1943 and served in Europe until honorably discharged in 1946, during which time he received 2 bronze service stars. Jim worked as a field engineer with Atlantic Richfield before entering the public works department for the City of Houston where he served with distinction for 34 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Liberty where he served as deacon. In retirement Jim regularly volunteered at the Spirit of Sharing Food Pantry and the city library, as well as served as an adult reader for young school kids. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid reader, and especially loved his grandkids and great grandkids. Jim’s kindness, generosity and self-sacrifice will be much missed.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Grace Kent, grandson-in-law Mike Savage. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of sixty-six years; Joyce Rubash of Liberty, his sons Mark Rubash and wife Ginger of Friendswood, Texas and Brad Rubash and wife Page of Ackworth, Georgia, his grandchildren Heather Savage of Liberty, Michael Rubash and wife Tressa of Friendswood and Haley Rubash of Ackworth, Georgia, and five great grandchildren: Austin, Addie, Brianna and Justin Savage all of Liberty and Whitney Rubash of Friendswood.

Services for Jim Rubash will be Friday, April 8, 2016 at 10am at First Baptist Church in Liberty with burial to follow at Fairlawn cemetery in Liberty. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 5pm to 7pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX.

Thomas

Theresa Ann Nugent Thomas of Winnie, died on Saturday April 2, 2016 at her residence.

She was 54. A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday April 7, 2016 at 10:00A.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church cemetery in Quitman MS.

The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday April 6, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family.

A native of Meridan, MS, she had lived in Winnie, and was a cashier for J&J Chevron in Liberty.

She is survived by her father Charles Beckman of MS. Husband, Jason Nugent of Liberty, son, John Thomas of Quitman MS. Daughters, Angelia Mitchell of Winnie, Shea Nugent of Winnie, and Martha Thomas of Quitman, MS. Brother, Wayne Beckman of Quitman, MS, and sisters, Brenda Beckman and Carolyn Beckman both of Quitman MS. and numerous grandchildren.

Lee

Gwyn Hulda Dean Lee 81, of Saratoga, died Monday April 4, 2016, at her residence.

A service of remembrance will be held on Friday April 8, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services with Reverend Nathan Hendrix officiating. Interment will follow at Old Hardin cemetery in Kountze.

Serving as pallbearers are Ollie Hendrix III, William Deets Jr. Brian Taylor, Clint Hendrix Jr. Robert Hendrix Jr. David Chase Hendrix and Charles Sigger.

The family will be receiving friends on Thursday April, 7, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family.

She was born November 26, 1935 in Saratoga, to Sam Gerald Walker and Marguette Rynes. She had lived in Sour Lake, most of her life before moving to Saratoga. She had worked as a Nutritionist at Kountze Nursing Center for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lee. Son, Robert Hendrix Sr. and sister, Carolyn Stutts.

Survivors are sons, Ollie Ray Hendrix Jr. and wife Rhonda of Saratoga, Clint Hendrix Sr. and wife Debra of Saratoga, Quint Hendrix and wife Miranda of Saratoga, and David Hendrix and wife Sandra of Kountze. Daughter, Margie Bellair of Rye. Sister, Eddalee Brown and husband Russell of California.

Grandchildren: 13 and Great grandchildren: 16.
