Rodriguez

Socorro Rodriguez, 76, of Dayton, died Sunday, January 17, 2016, at a family residence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial following at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Socorro was born June 7, 1939 in Mexico, to parents; Julian Salinas and Fidela Pena, a former resident of Alamo, and has resided in Dayton for the past seven years. She was a homemaker and attended the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She also enjoyed playing games, cards, and walks with her husband.

Mrs. Rodriguez was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Abelardo Rodriguez, siblings: Eulogio, Socorro, Enedelio, and Margarita Salinas, and grandson: Eduardo Garza. She is survived by her daughters: Guadalupe Rodriguez of Dallas, Silvia Rodriguez of Roman Forest, Josefina Rodriguez of Dallas, Yolanda Rodriguez of Dayton, Sonia Leal of Dayton, and Araceli Rodriguez of Dayton, sons: Xavier Rodriguez of Dallas and Gerardo Rodriguez of Galena Park, numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Sutherlin

Robert Jefferson Sutherlin, age 88 of Liberty, also known to many as Coach, died January 15, 2016 in Baytown, TX.

Coach was born October 27, 1927 in Haughton, LA, son of the late James B. Sutherlin and Lucielle McAnn Sutherlin. After graduation from high school, Coach served in U.S. Marines from 1946 to 1952 where he obtained the ranking of Sergeant. He served during WWII and Korea. Coach then went on to receive his bachelor degree in agriculture from Northwestern State College in Louisiana and then his masters in agriculture and education from Stephen F. Austin University. He then moved to Liberty in 1954 where he started his career in coaching and teaching with Liberty ISD. Coach retired after serving 40 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Liberty as well as a member of the Men’s Bible Class. Coach was also a lifetime member of the Lions Club, the VFW, Elks Lodge and a member of the Magnolia Ridge Men’s Golf Association. He was a man that gave you your passion in life and was truly such an amazing and kind man. The community has lost a wonderful man.

Coach was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Jimmie Jo Beaty Sutherlin, son; Mark Worthy, brothers; James William Sullivan and Ross G. Sullivan. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, son; James Earl “Jimbo” Worthy, sisters; Dale Jones, Marjorie Steele, Nadine Morgan, Elaine Cornette, special friend; Nan Roberts, former daughter-in-law; Allison Rouse, grandchildren; Josh Worthy and wife Denise, Kelby Worthy and wife Danielle, Kolby Worthy and wife LaChelle, Robert Worthy, Kelcy Worthy, Hannah Blanchard and husband Toby and five great-grandchildren.

Services for Robert Jefferson “Coach” Sutherlin will be Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 10am at First United Methodist Church in Liberty with burial to follow at Worthy cemetery in Liberty. Visitation will be Monday, January 18, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX. In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made in Coach’s memory to the Lions Club Cripple Children Camp or The First United Methodist Church Maintenance Fund in Liberty.

Frazier

Edith Alene Frazier 87 of Batson, died on Wednesday January 14, 2016 in Rockport, TX.

A service of celebration will be held on Monday January 18, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at New Life Church of Batson, with Reverend Bruce Frazier, Reverend Garrett Frazier and Reverend Bill Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Sunday January 17, 2016 from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at New Life Church.

Edith was born August 9, 1928 in Winters, TX, to T.E. Brothers and Sarah Price. She had lived in Batson, for 55 years and had worked at the Senior Citizen Center in Batson. She had owned and operated Frazier Kream Kup in Batson for many years. She was a faithful and charter member of New Life Assembly of God Church of Batson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Lee Frazier, daughter, Janet Frazier Bearden.

Brothers, Raymond Brothers, and Bob Brothers. Sisters, Edna Glen, Audry Woodcock, and Inez Raymond.

Those left to cherish her memory is son, Reverend Bruce Frazier and wife Deborah of Rockport. Brothers, Glen Brothers of Rosenberg, TX, James Brothers of San Antonio, TX, and Bill Brothers of San Angelo, TX. Sisters are Janie Brothers of Austin, TX, and Geralene Shed of Mathis, TX.

Grandchildren are Heather Frazier of Rockport, Garrett Frazier and wife Hannah of Ontario, CA, and Ashlee Frazier of Los Angeles, CA. Great- grandchild is Kaden James Fearless Frazier.

Thompson

Betty Thompson 75, of Hankamer, TX; died Jan. 10, 2016.

Services will be Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016 at St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church, 213 Albritton Gully Rd. Hankamer, TX. Visitation will begin at 1230 P.M. until funeral at 2 P.M.. Interment will be in Mayes cemetery, Hankamer, TX.

Cherishing her memories are children: Robert L. Thompson and Leroy “Jr” Thompson II; Grandchild: Ebony Thompson; Other Grandchildren: Michelle Banks, Rochell Williams, Betty Thompson, Jr; Leroy O’Neal Thompson III and Christopher Banks. Siblings: Lorna Haskins, Henry Mayes (Alma), Lavine Mayes, Effie Lewis, Linda Whittington, J.H. Mayes (Clara) and Mary Roy (Allen), Nieces, Nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Thompson’s services have been entrusted to Proctor's Mortuary (Location in Anahuac, Beaumont, Silsbee and Woodville, TX.) ;

Speights

On May 22, 1938 the Lord blessed Alvin and Madie V. Speights with a bundle of joy named Camilla Mae Speights.

She was united with God at the early age of 7 years old and became a member of Sunlight M.B. Church. In her early years she attended George Washington Carver after graduating from B.O. Davis. She also attended Lee College School of nursing, received her LVN degree and worked at the hospital and nursing home in Anahuac.

She was united in marriage to Herbert L. Carrington, to this union two children were born, Sandra and June.

During her travelling to Port Neches daily for nurse work, she would often recall how it was the Lord that kept her from dangers seen and unseen. She was a faithful member to Sunlight, choir president, song leader, Sunday school teacher, mission teacher, serving in all aspects of servitude for the Lord. She was an active member until January 4th, 2016 after suffering a broken leg, ending it all on January 13th, 2016.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Alvin Speights and Madie V. Richardson, three brothers; Calvin Speights, Jeff Vernel “JV” Speights, and Roy Evans Speights, one sister, Winnie B. Speights. One grandson, Brodrick J. Daniels, and a host of other relatives.

She leaves to cherish her memories with, sister, Madie O. Speights, one brother Ross C. Speights “R.C.” Two children, Sandra Daniels Speights (Estus), Camilla J. Raymond (Walter Jr.) Five grandsons; Lamasio Daniels, Rickey L. Coates Jr., David A.R. Coates, Cody D.E. Speights, and Wyatt O. Raymond and many other beloved nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Camilla passed Jan. 13, 2016. Service will be Jan. 18, 2016 at Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church, 1016 Speights RD. Hankamer, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10AM until funeral at 11AM. Interment will be in Richardson cemetery, Hankamer.

Strancofski

Emily Olive Strancofski, age 76 of Raywood, died at her residence on January 13, 2016.

Emily was born January 1, 1939 in Eagle Lake, Maine, daughter of the late Ben and Delia Theriault Madore. Emily spent most of her life in Connecticut and was a waitress most of her life. She moved to Raywood just a short time ago to live with her family. She loved to garden, play cards and loved her red cardinals.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Joseph Strancofski and several brothers and sisters. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons; Mark and James Fowler, daughters; Lori Mingus, Cheryl Curtis and Traci Simpson, sisters; Viola, Betty and Edith, brothers; Billy, Norman and George, grandchildren; Joann Brown, Kris Mingus, Jr Ansel, Stephanie Gardoni, Chase McFarland, Stephanie Daniels, Mark Fowler Jr, Brandon Fowler, Stephanie Pichler, Ginny Pilcher, Justin Fowler, Devin Cochran, Derek Cochran, Ira Timmons and Scotty Mingus and several great-grandchildren.

Cremation services have been entrusted to Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, Tx.

Proctor

Tex Ritter Proctor 75 of Saratoga, died Saturday January 9, 2016 at his residence with his family at his bedside.

A service of remembrance will be held on Wednesday January 13, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services with Reverend Nathan Hendrix officiating.

Serving as pallbearers are Kurtis Proctor, Kris Proctor, Bruce Fregia Jr. Justin Proctor, Brad Fregia, and Dwight Jeanes Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Clint Hendrix Jr, Tyler Fregia, and Johnny Scott Jr. Interment will follow at Oakdale cemetery in Daisetta.

The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday January 12, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family.

A native of Dayton, Texas, he had lived in Saratoga, most of his life and was a retired Derrick Hand and a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eber Pete Proctor and Judine Dempsey, wife, Rose Proctor and son Tex "P.J." Proctor Jr. and sister Shirley Ferguson.

Survivors are son, Virgil Proctor of Dayton. Daughters, Tamye Fregia and husband Bruce of Daisetta, Debra Hendrix and husband Clint of Saratoga, Rebecca Jeanes of Votaw, Anna Proctor and Ivan Arceneaux of Moss Hill, and Rose Proctor and David Willey of Gist. Brother, Joe David Taylor and wife Thelma of Saratoga. Sisters, Lenora Lee of Sour Lake, Bessie Trahan of Saratoga, Irma Watson of Moss Hill, and Martha Mae.

Grandchildren: 16 and great grandchildren; 13.

Ducote

Betty Anne Ducote 51, of Batson, Texas, died on Sunday January 10, 2016 at her residence. A service of remembrance, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday January 16, 2016 at Faith & Family Funeral Services.

The family will be receiving friends also on Saturday January 16, 2016 at Faith & Family Funeral Services from 10:00AM until service time.

Betty was born December 27, 1964 in Madrid, Spain to Fred Lee Marberry and Amelia Abegzel. She had lived in Liberty before moving to Batson where she lived for 1 year. She attended the United Pentecostal Church of Batson and was a homemaker.

Betty is preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred Daniel Marberry and Gertrude Francis Marberry and Mercedes Abegzel and Albert Abegzel.

She is survived by her parents, Fred and Amelia Marberry of Liberty., husband, Daniel Ducote of Batson., son, Ryan Dean Birdwell of Raywood., daughters, Shelby Marie Fountain of Dayton, Crystalin Faye Birdwell of Ajax, Louisiana, Kaitlyn Nicole Morrow of Daisetta and Laura Anne Birdwell of Houston., brothers, Fred Lee Marberry II of Raywood, Daniel Albert Marberry of Hamburg, Germany and Robert David Marberry of Liberty., grandchildren, Asjia, Jesse, Braleigh, Railee, Brenton and Garrison.

Votaw

Ronald James Votaw, 59, of Kenefick, died Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 15, 2016, at the French cemetery in Dayton with burial following thereafter. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Ronald was born October 18, 1956 in Baytown, to parents: James J. and Loretta L. Gilmore Votaw, and has been a lifelong resident of Kenefick. He attended the First Assembly of God Church. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Mr. Votaw was preceded in death by his parents and wife: Wanda K. Edwards Votaw. He is survived by his brothers: David Votaw and wife Theresa of Tarkington Prairie and Richard Votaw and wife Tina of Kenefick, sister: Cynthia Ann Votaw of Denton, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Youngblood

Roy E. Youngblood, 85, of Liberty, TX, died in Twin Falls, Idaho Thursday, January 7, 2016.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2016, at the Cooke Memorial cemetery in Liberty with burial following thereafter. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to Noon, Saturday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Roy was born November 2, 1930 in Pasadena, Harris County, Texas to parents, Wesley Olen Youngblood and Jessie G. Welch Youngblood. He moved to Liberty as a child and lived there with his mother after the death of his father.

Life was not easy in those days as Roy had to drop out of school to support himself and his family. Roy married the love of his life, Maxine Jackson, on October 1, 1949. They soon started a family and Roy left his job and started into business for himself. Roy would remain self-employed and self-sufficient the rest of his life. In his early career he founded Youngblood Farms and was one of the largest local egg producers in Liberty County where Youngblood Eggs were a staple in local grocery stores. In later years the business grew, evolved and became Youngblood Wholesale known for its beef, catfish and other fine foods and supplies.

Roy is survived by two sons, Jerry Youngblood of Edmond, OK, Allen Youngblood of Liberty, TX and one daughter, Sharon Keeter and husband Andy of Twin Falls, ID; three grandsons, Sam Keeter and wife Chelan of Yakima, WA, Tommy Keeter and wife, Elaina of Olympia, WA, and Will Keeter and wife Harley of Minneapolis, MN. He also leaves behind one great-granddaughter, Claire Keeter of Yakima, WA; one sister, Marylou Turbyfill of Dallas, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Foreman

Charles Wade Foreman, 82, of Dayton, died Monday, January 11, 2016, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 16, 2016, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Charles was born August 21, 1933 in Rose Bud, Arkansas, to parents; Earl H. and Myrtle M. Plant Foreman, a former resident of Port Arthur, and has resided in Dayton for the past 44 years. He was a high school graduate, a clock smith, and member of the National Watch and Clock Association. He also enjoyed spending time with family and fishing.

Mr. Foreman was preceded in death by his parents and brother: James Foreman. He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Helen M. Brown Foreman of Dayton; son: Dennis Foreman and wife Irene of Richardson; daughter: Becky Jackson and husband Lynn of Corinth; sister: Blanche Ball and husband Derwin of Arkansas; grandchildren: Stephanie Brady and husband Kevin, Daniel Jackson, Timothy Foreman, Stephen Jackson, Joshua Mondares, Aaron Foreman, and Matthew Foreman; great-grandchildren: Sarah Jackson and Michelle Foreman; also numerous other relatives and friends.
