Kinsley Emma Watkins, infant daughter of Carl Watkins Jr and Callie Flowers Watkins, died January 9, 2016 in Houston, TX.

Kinsley was born January 6, 2016 in Houston, TX with her twin brother Carl Watkins III.

Kinsley leaves behind to cherish her memory, her parents; Carl Watkins Jr and Callie Flowers Watkins of Dayton, brothers; Leland Watkins, Gunner Watkins and twin brother Carl Watkins III, paternal grandparents; Carl Watkins Sr and Dawn Watkins, maternal grandparents; Bruce and Tina Flowers, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services for Kinsley Emma Watkins will be Friday, January 15, 2106 at 2pm at Sterling Funeral Home, 602 North Main, Dayton, TX with burial to follow at 3pm at Palms Memorial cemetery.

Thornton

Jo Anne Reeves Thornton, 80, of Dayton, died Saturday, January 9, 2016, at a family residence in Baytown.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Jo Anne was born February 5, 1935 in Old River to parents; Ellis W. “Monk” and Willie Mae Dugat Reeves, and has been a lifelong resident of Dayton. She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church of Pasadena. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, and gardening.

Mrs. Thornton was preceded in death by her parents and husband: J.L. Thornton. She is survived by her son: James Eaton, Jr. and wife Lori of Liberty, daughters: Joan Johnson of Dayton, Tania Glover of Baytown, and Melanie Sanders of Dayton, two brothers, five sisters, grandchildren: Jennifer Steadham, Jeff Johnson, Kari LaFargue, Marc Anthony Glover, Kaci Miles, Todd Sanders, and Tyler Sanders, 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Frazier

Charles Edward Frazier of Kountze, Texas died on Wednesday January 6, 2016 at Christus Southeast Texas Health System in Beaumont. He was 80.

A service of remembrance will be held on Sunday January 10, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Old Hardin cemetery in Kountze, with Reverend Mark Ainsworth officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held also on Sunday January 10, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services Chapel.

A native of Honey Island, Texas he had lived in Kountze most of his life and was a Oilfield Worker with Petroleum Well Service. He is survived by his daughter, Connie Robinson and husband Jerrod of Sour Lake, and sister Annette Langston of Winnie.

Grandchildren are Jasmine Regalado and fiancé Jeremy Goldman of Sour Lake, Lydia Stanley and husband Steven of Sour Lake. Great grandchildren are Jerrod Stanley, Alexis Stanley, and Karlie Goldman.

Johnson

Craig Alan Johnson 45 of Houston died at his residence.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday January 9, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at New Life Church in Batson, with Reverend Bill Campbell officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

Serving as pallbearers are Todd Floyd, Seth Floyd, Philip Archer, Fritz Crump, Greg Owen, and Dismas DiCicco.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday January 8, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at New Life Church.

A native and lifelong residence of Houston, he was a Car Salesman for Humble Hyundai and a U.S.Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his father, Danny Ray Johnson, step grandfather, Gilbert Hinze, uncle Bobby Taylor, Nanny, Allie Victoria Taylor. Paw Paw, William Leon Taylor and grandfather W.L. Taylor Jr.

Survivors are mother and stepfather Betty and Larry Battenfield of Batson. Brother, Todd Michael Floyd of Crosby, step-brothers, Larry Steven Battenfield of Batson, James Stacey Battenfield of Pasadena, and nephew Seth Floyd of Crosby.

Emmons

Edith B. Emmons 98 of Liberty, died Wednesday January 6, 2016 at Magnolia Place Health Care LLP in Liberty.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday January 9, 2016 at 10:00A.M. at North Main Baptist Church of Liberty, with Reverend Dick Lintelman officiating. Interment will follow at Old Home cemetery in Center, TX.

The family will be receiving friends also on Saturday January 9, 2016 from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at North Main Baptist Church.

She was born April 12, 1917 in Springhill, LA, to Adolph Ambrose Poissoit and Josephine Vasco. She had lived in Liberty, since 1984 and was a member of North Main Baptist Church. She was retired as a plant worker for Center Plywood Company.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Virgil Emmons, daughter, Beatrice Fleming. Son, Autry Virgil Emmons and one brother and six sisters.

Survivors are daughters Sharon Green and husband Dave of Liberty, and Sherri Graham and husband Roger of Springfield, LA, and numerous grandchildren, great - grandchildren, great - great grandchildren and great -great -great- grandchildren.

Ganson

Eugene Ganson 61 0f Daisetta, died on Sunday January 3, 2016 at Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center.

A service of remembrance will be held on Friday January 8, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Guedry cemetery in Batson. The family will also be having a gathering from 12:00 P.M. until time of service at Guedry cemetery.

He was born February 21, 1954 in Mamou, Louisiana, to Thomas Ganson and Joyce Barr. He had lived in Daisetta 27 years and was a self employed carpenter.

He is survived by his mother Joyce Barr of Simmsport, LA, his partner, Patricia Smith of Daisetta.

Sons, Eugene Montes Ganson of Zavalla, Thomas Neil Ganson of Virginia Beach, VA, Jonathan Cedric Ganson of Zavalla, and Jackie Duane Smith of Daisetta. Brother, Billy Dupont of Minnesota.

Sisters, Carolyn Dupont and Catherine Turner both of Louisiana.

Grandchildren are Owen Ganson, Alyssa Ganson, Reatha Hollingsworth, Christian Tanner lee Ganson, Nevaeh Lareatha Hope Ganson, and Xander Jaxon Walker Ganson.

Futrell

Yolanda Leveck Futrell of Hull, Texas, formerly of Corpus Christi, died Saturday December 26, 2015 in Houston. She was 65.

A service of remembrance will be held on Friday January 8, 2016 at 11:00A.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services Chapel.

She was born May 21, 1950 in McAllen, TX, to her parents Federico Leveck and Julia Leveck.

She graduated from Roy Miller High School of Corpus Christi, and was a homemaker. She loved to travel and cook, but above all else, she loved her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Federico Leveck and Julia Leveck and grandmother, Elodia McDonald.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are her husband, Charles Futrell of Hull. Daughters, Christina Cortez Arnold and husband Roger of San Antonio, Theresa Leveritt and husband Clay of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Hopie Oakes and husband Charles of Cypress. Son, Jason Morris Futrell, and Denise Futrell Chavers and husband Ronnie of Monticello, MS.

Brothers, are Richard Villarreal and Gilbert Leveck. Sisters, Lupe Escobedo, Norma Torres, Mary Alice Leveck, Bertha Leveck, Cynthia Leveck-Orta and Debbie Leveck Berryhill.

Grandchildren, Felipe E. Deleon, Faith Deleon, Jake Bennett, Elliott Oakes, Joey Arnold, Ava Arnold, Clare Leveritt, Cara Mae Leveritt, Devin Morris Futrell, Wyatt E. Futrell, Cameron Cole Futrell, Kenlee J. Clark, Tyler Foster, Meagan Chavers and Chris Chavers.

Bankhead

William Bankhead, 74, a resident of Liberty, Texas, died Saturday, January 2, 2016, at a hospital in Houston. He was born on October 23, 1941, to Henry and Affie Deblanc Bankhead.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Bennie Bankhead and Henry Bankhead, sister: Lessie Bankhead Julius.

He is survived by one sister; Victoria Bankhead, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Wake Services, January 8, 2016, 5 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., at Liberty Church of Christ, 3201 North Main, Liberty, Texas.

He will lie-in-state Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow. Brother Rod Tate, Officiating. Interment at Wells Memorial cemetery, Liberty, Texas.

Wells Funeral Services at 300 Alabama Street, Liberty, Texas has been entrusted with final arrangements.

Dugat

Frances Ann Shaver Dugat, 77, of Old River, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2016, at the Old River Baptist Church with services concluding thereafter. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday, at Old River Baptist Church. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Frances was born August 15, 1938 in Palestine, to parents; Graydon L. and Mattie Dell Allen Shaver, a former resident of Baytown, and has resided in Old River for the past 62 years. She was a graduate of Barbers Hill High School class of 1955 and a retired administrative assistant for State Farm Insurance after 30 years of employment. Frances was a member of the Old River Baptist Church, Order of Eastern Star #634, and the Barbers Hill Scholarship Association. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Dugat was preceded in death by her parents and grandson: Jacob Sidney Dugat. She is survived by her husband of 59 years: James Sidney Dugat of Old River, son: Jim Dugat and wife Cindy of Mt. Belvieu, grandchildren: Jordyn, Calyn, and Paden Dugat, special nephew: Michael Gresham of Lantana, her beloved yorkie: Ellie Mae, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

For those who desire, donations may be made to the Barbers Hill Scholarship Fund at P.O. Box 904, Mt. Belvieu, TX 77580, or the Old River Baptist Church at 12948 FM 1409, Dayton, TX 77535, in Frances’ name.

Thornton

Douglas Eugene Thornton, 88, of Kenefick, died Tuesday, January 5, 2015, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 7, 2015, at the French cemetery with burial following thereafter. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Douglas was born March 12, 1927 in Veach, to parents; Paskel and Addelia Bryan Thornton, and has been a lifelong resident of Kenefick. He was a veteran of the US Army with service during WWII, a retired owner/operator of Thornton Logging, and sawmill operator. He also enjoyed reading Louis L’Amour novels, gardening, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Thornton was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Maxine Roundtree Thornton, son: Henry “Spike” Thornton, two brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by his daughters: Eva Psencik and husband Edwin of Eastgate and Jackie Allen and husband Glen of Kenefick, sons: Ray Thornton and wife Kathy of Hardin and Johnnie Nicar and wife Tammy of Liberty, 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, eight great great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Weston

Dedra “Janice” Weston, 82, of Anahuac, Texas died Friday, January 1, 2016 in Baytown, Texas.

She was born on November 7, 1933 in Era, Texas to Albert and Thelma Reichle. Janice spent her life as a homemaker and foster parent for fourteen years, spending as much time as she could with her beloved children and husband. She spent time working in various retail shops, Wilcox Drug Store, Senior Care home assistant, and then worked with the Caring Center Outreach Program in her later years. Some of her hobbies included crossword puzzles, reading, watching golf and Houston Astros Baseball. Her favorite hobby of all was her family. Janice was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Anahuac.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Clark Weston; sister, Naomi Finger; and sisters-in-law, June Weston and JoAnn Weston. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Donald Murray Weston, James Weston and wife Michele; brothers, Lee Reichle and wife Eva and Karl Reichle; brothers-in-law, Don Weston and Jim Weston; grandchildren, Jacob Weston, Dillon Lastovica and Mia Weston; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. Janice will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6pm until 8pm on Thursday, January 7, 2016 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home located at 1201 South Main Street in Anahuac. Funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday, January 8, 2016 at First United Methodist Church of Anahuac, 204 Trinity Street, Anahuac. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Anahuac cemetery.
