Tanner

David Ernest Tanner, age 80 of Liberty, died at his residence on December 23, 2015 with his loving family by his side.

David was born May 18, 1935 in Hardin, TX, son of the late Ernest Tanner and Grace Owens Tanner. He graduated from Hardin High School and was a millwright for Mobil Chemical for twenty-five plus years before retiring. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. David loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. His children and grandchildren were the love of his life. It was also said that David never met a friend of his children that they didn’t call him Daddy. He will be missed dearly.

David was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Louetta Tanner, son; David Stewart Tanner, daughter; Lura Jane Hanks, and grandparents; Dave Anderson Tanner and Martha Francis Tanner. He leaves behind to cherish his memory; daughters; Diane Horton and husband Steve, Martha Sue Neve and husband Don, sons; James Leroy Williams, Bruce Tanner and wife Cindy, grandchildren; Chad Hanks and wife Kaitlynn, Jamie Williams, Josh Parsons, Donny Neve, Ciara Tanner, Brittany Stavinaha and husband Jared, Cassi Albro and husband Danny, Codi McGowan, Emily Tanner, Jamie Neve, Thomas Moseley, Andy Tanner, David C. Neve, Donald Hunt, Joshua Hunt, Kaitlyn Chavez, and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

Services for David Ernest Tanner will be Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 10am at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX with burial to follow at Williams cemetery in Liberty. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm in the chapel of Allison’s.

Holley

Robert Nelson Holley, 28, of Kenefick, died Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, December 26, 2015, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Linney cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, prior to services. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Robert was born August 24, 1987 in Baytown, to parents; Gary and Lela Addington Holley, and has been a lifelong resident of Kenefick. He was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 2005, an electrician, and member of the NRA. He also enjoyed drawing, writing poetry, and especially spending time with his son.

Mr. Holley was preceded in death by his grandparents: Edwin and Lucille Holley and John and Alma Lee Addington. He is survived by his parents; Gary and Lela Addington Holley of Kenefick, son: Ethan Wade Holley of Kenefick, sister: Wendy Bode and husband Rodney of Dayton, brother: Wes Holley of Dayton, nieces: Nikki McMahan and Matt, Brittany Holcomb, and Angelica Holley, special friends: Jeff and Cindy Sims, numerous other relatives and friends.

For those who desire, donations may be made to Ethan Wade Holley Scholarship account at Security State Bank, in Robert’s name.

Haidusek

Charles E. Haidusek, age 77, died at his home in Devers, Texas, surrounded by his beloved family, on December 22, 2015, after a long illness.

Charles E. Haidusek was born on July 8, 1938, to Charles (Charlie) Haidusek and Gertrude Haidusek, who operated a rice farming business in Dayton, Texas. He was soon followed by his brothers, Paul E. (Bubba) and Donald L. Haidusek. Charles graduated from Dayton High School in 1957, where he was an All-District member of the Bronco football team as well as Student Body President. He joined the United States Navy in 1959, where he served on the U.S.S. Saratoga aircraft carrier as Petty Officer 3rd Class. After his Honorable Discharge in 1963, Charles began a rice farming business with his brother, Bubba, near Devers, Texas. His brother, Don, joined Haidusek Brothers Farms in 1979, and the Brothers grew rice and other crops in the Devers area for more than 43 years. After Hurricane Rita in 2005, Haidusek Brothers Farms converted to a turf farm which continues to operate in Devers to this day.

Charles E. Haidusek was a Volunteer Fireman for the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department for more than 12 years. He served on the Board of Directors for Liberty County Farm Bureau, American Rice Growers Co-op, Southeast Texas Farm and Ranch, and the Beaumont Production Credit Association. He also served on the Liberty County AgriLife Extension Service Committee. Charles enjoyed working on machinery, deer hunting and playing dominoes with his Czech relatives in Hallettsville, where his grandparents from the now Czech Republic settled.

Charles married another 1957 Dayton High School graduate, Shirley D. Meacham, in Dallas, Texas, on December 18, 1959. Their daughter, Lee, was born in Dayton, Texas, on December 17, 1960. Their son, Andy, was born in Dayton, Texas, on June 27, 1963. Charles and Shirley resided in Dayton and Kenefick until 1994, when they moved to Devers, Texas.

Charles E. Haidusek is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Haidusek; his daughter, Lee Haidusek and her husband, Judge Thomas Chambers; his son, Charles Andrew (Andy) Haidusek and his wife, Harrabeth; his grandchildren: Colin Edward King; Charles Andrew Haidusek, Jr., and his wife, Adrienne; Adrienne Rosanne Haidusek Adams and her husband, Jeffrey; Julianne Elizabeth Haidusek; and Thomas Andrew Chambers and his wife, Sherry; his great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Haidusek, Charles Andrew Haidusek, III, and Allan Jaxon Chambers; his mother, Gertrude Haidusek; his brothers: Paul E. Haidusek and his wife, Bette; and Donald L. Haidusek and his wife, Cathy; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charles Andrew Haidusek; his infant son, Charles Randolph Haidusek; his in-laws, Alfred E. (Red) and Wilda Meacham; his great-nephew, Paul Garrett Haidusek; and his cousins, James Haidusek, Jesse Klimitchek, Richard Klimitchek, Alton Klimitchek, and Stanley Friedel; his in-laws: Melbourne Meacham; Drue McGinty; and Winston Padgett; and many aunts and uncles.

The rosary vigil for Charles E. Haidusek will be Monday, December 28, 2015, at Allison Funeral Home in Liberty, Texas, at 7:30 P.M.. Visitation is from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M.. Funeral services will be December 29, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dayton, Texas, at 10:00 AM, followed by interment at Magnolia cemetery in Dayton, Texas.

The Charles E. Haidusek family would like to thank Texas Home Health for taking such good care of Charles the last year of his life, especially Laurin Morgan and Stephanie Dais, and those family members and friends who shared their love during Charles’ illness.

Autrey

Marjorie J. McDaniel Autrey, 63, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, December 21, 2015, at her residence.

Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas.

Marjorie was born April 3, 1952 in Birmingham, Alabama, to parents; Frank and Mae Bell McDaniel, and has resided in Cleveland for the past 32 years. She was the owner and operator of Dependable Mobile Home Service and a former Assistant Cub Scout Leader. She also enjoyed scrapbooking, photography, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Autrey was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Frankie, and sisters: Mary and Pat. She is survived by her husband of 30 years: James C. Autrey, Jr. of Cleveland, son: James C. Autrey, III and wife Crystal of Splendora, brothers: Bobby McDaniel of Alabama and James McDaniel of Alabama, sister: Mildred Patchen of Alabama, grandchildren: Joseph, William, Cherish, Alexis, and Brandy, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mitchell

Oliver Simpson Mitchell "Bird" 61, of Dayton, TX died Dec. 19, 2015.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015 at Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church, 808 Washington St. Liberty, TX. Visitation will begin at 9AM until Funeral at 11AM. Interment will be in Acie cemetery.

Oliver Simpson Mitchell was born October 2nd 1951 in Houston, Texas. He was the oldest of five children born to Oliver and Alberta Simpson, who both preceded him in death. He was raised and adopted by his grandparents, William and Rosa Mitchell. Oliver attended Colbert and Dayton High School in Dayton, Texas where he grew up. Oliver (Bird) as everyone called him, graduated in 1969, he married the love of his life Claudette Marie Mitchell shortly after graduating and to this union three children were born.

After High School he found his true calling, and begin working as a “Truck Driver”. Bird drove trucks for fifteen years and retired. Bird accepted Christ at an early age. In his early years he attended Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, he later united with Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully until God called him home. Bird loved singing gospel music. For many years he was Base Singer for various Quartet Groups, most notable “The Silver Lights”. The Silver Lights traveled many places singing songs of Zion all over the state, Bird was so inspired by gospel quartets, he never missed a Lee Williams Concert. Lee Williams concerts was one of the highlights of his life. He made sure that he would be best dressed for the concert, there he even won first place for “Best Dressed”. He was most known for the assortment of colors that he loved to wear. During his tenure at Mt. Rose “Bird” was ordained a Deacon and he was accepted as a Mason for Lodge #146. Bird loved his family and he always made everyone laugh, he was the life of every party. Uncle Bird and Paw Paw as the kids called him, gave everyone a unique nickname.

Oliver was preceded in death by his Wife: Claudette Marie Mitchell; Siblings: Caroline Felder and Robert Simpson.

He leaves to cherish his memories Children: Vicki Brown (Heith) Sr., Alondra Mitchell, Brandon Mitchell; Sisters: Rose Simpson Goree (Charles), Sarah Wright (James); Brother: Darrin Hannibal; Grandchildren: Danielle Mitchell, Weldon Mayfield, Alexis Mitchell, Robert Ford, Jr., Heith Brown II, Lyric Brown, Baylei Mitchell, Micah Sias; Great- Grandchildren: Robert Hawkins, Jr., RaShard Hawkins, Romello Hawkins, Ra’kelle Hawkins; two Aunts, One Uncle, A Special Sister In Law: Lois Sandles, a close friend Mary Conway, Life Long Friends: J.B. Lofton, Sam Sandles, Louis Baldwin, Rodis Briggs and a host of Nieces, Nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Mitchell’s services have been entrusted to Proctor's Mortuary (Location in Anahuac, Beaumont, Silsbee and Woodville, TX.) ;

Coleman

Nolen Pope Coleman, 83, of Conroe, died Monday, December 21, 2015, at the Elmcroft Senior Center in Conroe.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 26, 2015, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Garden Park cemetery in Conroe. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, prior to services. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland.

Nolen was born April 5, 1932 in Athens, to parents; Charles and Helen Hopkins Coleman, a former resident of Cleveland, and has resided in Conroe for the past three years. He was a graduate of the Athens High School, attended Sam Houston State, and received his Associate from the North Harris County Community College. Nolen served his country in the Army National Guard and Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the Dolen Baptist Church, the American Legion, and was a retired bookkeeper. He also enjoyed fishing, metal detecting, and especially spending time with his family.

Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 49 years and mother of his children: Mary Lesley Coleman, second wife: Dottie Gibson Coleman, daughter: Brenda Oliver, and sons-in-law: Rayford Morrow, Sr. and Ernest Oliver, Sr., and grandson: Eddie Oliver. He is survived by his children: Barbara Morrow of Conroe, Mike Coleman and wife Gayle of Spring, and Debbie Grisham and husband Tom of Huntsville, brother: John Coleman of Pennsylvania, grandchildren: Rayford Morrow, Jr., Ernest Oliver, Jr., Tabatha Phillips, Rachel Freestrom, Michelle Coleman, Rebekah Atkinson, James Coker, Lisa Namken, Trisha McCaffety, and Tiffany Grisham, 23 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Parker

Isma Jane Van Etta Parker died December 20, 2015 in Rosharon, Texas.

She was born on July 7, 1921 in Mansfield, South Dakota, the daughter of Vernon W. and Bertha Burns Van Etta. Isma was said to have been fun-loving and full of life as a child. However, she lost her mother at eight years old, and it was left to Isma to raise her siblings. Isma’s father moved around from place to place working in the oilfield business, leaving her to be raised by an aunt. She finished the eleventh grade in New Mexico before moving to Texas, where she married the love of her life, Donald E. Parker, Sr. They moved to Liberty, TX in 1947.

Isma worked as a retail clerk for many years with Montgomery Wards, Hampton Hall Jewelry, Nana’s Bo Peep Shoppe and Brookshire Brothers in both Liberty and Dayton. She was so loving and giving; truly a servant to others, cooking and working with the senior citizens center in the Liberty area. Isma was baptized at First Baptist Church in Liberty and later moved to First Presbyterian Church in Liberty. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the PTA, and was a Girl Scout Leader when her daughters Joyce and Jean were young.. And she never missed one of Donnie’s football games.

Isma was classy, a proper lady, yet down to earth with a wonderful sense of humor. She was a protector of the innocent; generous and selfless to a fault. To her children she was the “perfect mother.” She spent as much time as she could with her children and grandchildren, whom she greatly adored.

Isma was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of fifty years, Donald E. Parker, Sr.; her brothers, James, George and Henry Van Etta; and her sister, Laverne Smith. She is survived by her daughters, Jean Heathman of Rosharon, Texas and Joyce McClain and husband Charles of Houston, Texas; her son, Donnie Parker and wife Mary Beth of Liberty, Texas; her grandchildren, Amanda and Daniel Heathman, Shannan McClain, Jay Parker and wife Chandra and Seth Parker and wife Kayla; great grandchildren Cory McClain, Cortney Neil, Joshua, Jeremie, Parker, and Shanan Rebecca McClain, and Ellis Frazier, Hunter and Ashleigh Parker and great great grandchildren Camden Neil and Abigail Jade McClain, as well as a host of other loving relatives and friends. Isma was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 1pm on Saturday, December 26, 2015 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 North Main Street, Dayton, Texas. Funeral service will follow at 2pm at Sterling Funeral Home. A graveside service and committal will be held in Cooke cemetery in Liberty, Texas.

Honoring the family and serving as Pallbearers will be Mike VanEtta, Will VanEtta, Mark VanEtta, Charles Moritz, Jerry Swerengen and Millard Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers are Ron Kubala, Bill Kyle, Elvi “Jug” Mangum, Bill Edwards, Charles McClain, Edward Moritz, Byron Burns and Lyle Burns.

Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Sterling Funeral Home, located at 602 North Main Street, in Dayton, Texas. .

Love

Eddie Vonzell Love, 74, a resident of Dayton, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015,
at his residence. Born May 13, 1941, to Clyde and Blanche Dorothy Weeks-Love, in Klondike Texas.

Mr. Love was a long time employee of Burnham Chevrolet, in Liberty Texas. He enjoyed his animals as well as watching NASCAR.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Elizabeth Ann Burnett-Love and brothers, Glenn and Joe Love.

He is survived by his son, Michael E Love, and wife Raquel, daughter, Kimberly Ann Love-Hathaway and husband Leonard, grandchildren, Michael Love Jr., Kealy and Kamden Hathaway.

Loved, remembered and missed by, the Love family and the Bowen Family-Brenda Bowen, Stephen and Jennifer Bowen, Darryl and Melissa Bowen, the many children and grandchildren of both families.

Wells Funeral Services at 300 Alabama Street, Liberty, Texas has been entrusted with final arrangements.

Fregia

Travis Gene Fregia 66 of Daisetta, Texas died on Friday December 18, 2015 at St.Lukes Hospital in Houston.

A service of remembrance will be held on Monday December 21, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services Inc. with Reverend Nolan Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Dale cemetery in Daisetta.

The family will be receiving friends on Sunday December 20, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Faith & Family.

A native of Liberty, he had lived in Daisetta, most of his life and had worked as an operator with Oil Well Production of Daisetta for 30 years, and for Key Energy of Liberty for 10 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Celena Ann Fregia, parents, Joseph Dittman Fregia and Mora Theresa Young. Brothers, Douglas Earl Fregia, Randolph Fregia, Rudolph Fregia, Robert Lee Fregia, John Paul Fregia, and Roland Fregia. Sisters, Mary Elizabeth Nudd, Edwina Able, and Alma Jo. Fregia.

Survivors are daughters, Sharlet Musselwhite and husband BoBo of Pitkin, LA, and Stacy Ann Fregia of Daisetta. Brothers are Richard Fregia and wife Martha of Hull, and Charles Fregia of Daisetta.

Grandchildren are Justin Musselwhite and Nicholas Musselwhite both of Pitkin, LA. Nieces 18, nephews 14, great nieces 24. Great nephews 37, great- great nieces 24, great- great nephews 29, and great- great- great niece, Rose Elizabeth - Renee Camancho of Lufkin.

Serving as pallbearers are Joe Musselwhite, Tommy Musselwhite, Daniel Fregia, John Addison, Tony Taylor, and Bryan Fregia.

Honorary pallbearers are Justin Musselwhite, Nicholas Musselwhite, and Donald Starke Jr.

Service of remembrance under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Services Inc. 40847 Hwy 105E. Batson, Texas 77519. .

Rich

George Clinton Rich II, age 82 died Saturday December 19, 2015 at Magnolia Place Nursing Home.

George was born in Wharton, Texas March 10, 1933 the son of the late Albert Rich and Valta Wheeless Rich. George graduated from El Campo High School and went on to attend at the University of Texas. In his third year at UT, he volunteered for the Army and served during the Korean Conflict. After his years of service he started his career at Raytheon and later joined NASA until his retirement. While at NASA he worked as a Design Engineer and developed numerous designs used on the Apollo as well as space shuttle projects. His specialty at NASA was in Vibroacoustic, an important aspect for the reentry into the earth atmosphere.

George leaves behind to cherish his memory his sisters; Gerry Crossky of Colmesneil, TX and Jo Ann Gunter and husband Pete of Liberty, TX. He also leaves his nieces and nephews; John Dearman, Gary Dearman, Sherry Jordan, Randy Gunter, and Kelly Cooper. In addition he leaves numerous great and great-great nephews and nieces as well as a special group of children he considered almost as his own; Theresa, Bridgette, Karen, Kelly, and Roger Chapman. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held 11AM Tuesday December 22, 2015 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas with a visitation to be held on hour prior to the service. Burial will be held privately.
