Shannon

Michael Gary Shannon II of Batson, Texas died Friday December 11, 2015 in Alice, Texas. He was 45.

A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday December 15, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Daisetta United Pentecostal Church with Reverend Tolbert Hudspeth and Reverend Glenn Burks officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

The family will be receiving friends on Monday December 14, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Daisetta United Pentecostal Church.

Michael was born November 25, 1970 in Liberty, to Michael Gary Shannon I and Glenda Kay Hudspeth Shannon. He had lived in Hardin, before moving to Batson. He was a Rig Welder for Dayton Lease, and was a member of Calvary Apostolic Church of Batson.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ivy Machelle Shannon and grandfather, Bert Hudspeth.

Survivors other than parents are wife, Christy Darlene Shannon of Batson, sons, Michael Gary Shannon III of Hull, and Tyler Dwain Finn of Batson.

Daughters are Kayla Machelle Shannon of Honey Island, Ashley Nicole Shannon of Hull, Mika Destinee Shannon of Honey Island, and Raelynn Shannon of Batson, and one sister Glenda Kay "K.K ". Mitschke and husband Dwayne of Giddings.

Grandparents are Lorice Hudspeth of Batson, Mickey and Mary Lou Shannon of Hull, and Merle and Lee Charles Taylor of Mt. Belvieu, and grandchild Evan Kade Downs.

Survivors also include In - laws Dwain and Darlene Hart of Batson, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers are Scotty Hart, Redick Smith, Mike Hashaw, Joe Wyatt, Johnny Earl Fregia, and Jeff Frautschi. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Fagan and Marvin Elliott.

Stanley-Frye

Velma Lea Childress Stanley-Frye, 80, of Dayton, died Thursday, December 10, 2015, at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 13, 2015, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with services concluding thereafter. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Velma was born November 8, 1935 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to parents; Robert D. and Rosie L. Gravitt Childress, a former resident of Channelview, and has resided in Dayton for the past 25 years. She was a graduate of the Galena Park High School, a retired pharmacy clerk at Brookshire Brothers, and known by many as the pin lady. She also enjoyed crocheting, dancing, and especially spending time with her family.

Mrs. Frye was preceded in death by her parents, previous husband: John Stanley, and father of her children: Harry Leleux. She is survived by her husband of six years: Jack Frye of Dayton, son: David Leleux and wife Sherry of Springtown, daughters: Sheila Joplin-Huck and husband Edward of Houston and Suzanne Minx and husband Johnny of Dayton, brother: Bob Childress and wife Marvis of Midland, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren, numerous other relatives, and friends.

Johnson

James H. “Jimmy” Johnson, 80, of Hull, died Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at the Clairmont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2015, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Palms Memorial Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Jimmy was born April 21, 1935 in Helena, Arkansas to parents; Emmett and Lacey Lawrence Johnson, a former resident of Liberty, and has resided in Hull for the past 25 years. He was a veteran of the US Navy, a self-employed carpenter, and of the Pentecostal faith. He also enjoyed listening to music, writing music, and animals.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 44 years: Irene Howard Johnson of Hull, son: Van Clifford Johnson and wife Betty of Nevada, brother: Adolph Johnson and wife Lela of Liberty, grandchildren: Harvey John Johnson and Cristy Johnson-Willis, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Wheeler

Hadlee Reese Wheeler died December 5, 2015.

She was born October 13, 2015 to John Thomas Wheeler and Candice Leigh Mathis.

Hadlee is survived by her loving parents; brother, Preston; sisters, Kaitlyn, Kamryn, and Preslie; grandparents, Lysa & Glenn Mathis, Joanna & Ottmar Schimek, and Joan & Scott Wheeler; great-grandparents, Thomas Calhoon, Martha Jane Schimek, Elmo & Karen Peddy, and Norman & Marguerete Mathis; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Carol Ann Peddy, Mary Ann Calhoon, Ottmar Schimek, and John & Jane Wheeler; and great-uncle, Kyle Peddy. Hadlee will be greatly missed by all.

Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Wheeler, and Rusty Hampton. Honorary pallbearers will be Taylor Schimek, Luke Wheeler, Carter Rivon, and Preston Gray. Visitation will be held Friday December 11, 2015 beginning at 5:00 P.M., and concluding at 7:00 P.M., at the Sterling Funeral Home Chapel, located at 1201 South Main Street in Anahuac. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, located at 204 Trinity Street, in Anahuac, beginning at 11:00 AM, Saturday December 12, 2015, with burial to follow in Anahuac cemetery.

Tornatore

Anthony Junior Tornatore age 56 of Dayton died at his home in Dayton on Wednesday, December 9, 2015.

Anthony was born in Liberty, Texas January 25, 1959 the son of Anthony Tornatore and Loraine Rocca Tornatore. Anthony worked for the past twenty years at Kroger in Atascosita. He was devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Church and was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Anthony was preceded in death by his father Anthony Tornatore.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother Loraine Tornatore, sister Teresa McDonald and her husband Daniel, brother Peter Tornatore and wife Caroline, half-brother Jay Tornatore and wife Linda, four nieces and nephews Michael, Christine, Andre and Mary. In addition he leaves his grandnephew Alexandre. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation for Anthony will be held Sunday December 13, 2015 from 5-8 P.M. at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10AM Monday December 14, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Church with burial to follow in Liberty Catholic cemetery.

Dickerson

Bro. Recie “RD” Dickerson Jr. 85, of Liberty died Dec. 01, 2015.

Services will be Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015 at Turkey Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 1600 Wallisville Rd. Liberty, TX. Visitation will be from 9AM until funeral at 11AM. Interment in Lone Star cemetery, Liberty (Moss Bluff), TX.

Recie was born March 6, 1930 to Ellen and Recie Dickerson Sr. in Liberty, Texas. Everyone called him R.D. or Tobe. Recie was united with Mary Lee Cook on June 3, 1954 and God blessed them with five daughters and three sons.

Recie was preceded in death by his parents Ellen and Recie Dickerson Sr., his wife Mary Lee, three sons Joe, Robert and Recie Tommy, a sister Ellen Duncan, a brother Arthur Lee and one great granddaughter Brooke.

Recie is survived by his daughters: Ida Mae (Fredrick Sr.) of Raywood, TX; JoAnn (John Sr.) of Liberty, TX; Ellen of Houston, TX; Helen (Frank) and Connie (Felton Jr.) both of Ames, TX. Eleven grandchildren: Katina (Shun), Monique (Meme), Fredrick Jr.(Pookie Boy), Roger Jr.(Tanka), Chantell (Tootsie), Ervin (Bubba), Kristal, Stacey (Nel), LaCheryle (Sal), Natile, and Sydney. Twelve great grandchildren: Taylor, Carrington, Katelyn, Cierra, Dillion, Laila, Reese, Skylar, Ryan, Amber, Langston and Lauren. Six nieces: Carrie, Claudette, Carolyn, Margaret, Juda, Thelma. Two nephews: Joe Norris and Clyde, and an additional host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Mr. Dickerson’s services have been entrusted to Proctor's Mortuary (Locations in Anahuac, Beaumont, Silsbee and Woodville, TX.). Main # is ;

Westley Anderson 80, of Nome, TX died Dec. 08, 2015.

Service will be Dec. 13, 2015 at First Baptist Church, 1115 3rd St. Nome, TX. Visitation will begin at 10AM until funeral at 12 Noon. Interment will be in Magnolia cemetery, Beaumont

He was preceded in death his wife: Willie Mell Anderson and son: Westley Anderson Jr.

Woods

Clark Samuel Woods was born on January 25, 1954 in Houston, Texas and died on December 4, 2015 at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

He is preceded in death by his mother Colleen Woods, his father Elzie Woods Sr., his grandmother Mabel Lambert and his brother Chris Woods.

he is survived by his wife Elizabeth Woods, daughters Kim griffith, Tammy Woods and Shelby Stephens.

He was blessed with 5 grandchildren Wesley, Trey, Ceci, Sean and Katelyn and many nieces and nephews.

He will be greatly missed by his sisters and brothers, Cathy and Randy Thibodeaux, Julie and Joe Sparks, Elzie Woods, Larry Woods, Michael and Rhonda Woods, and Bruce and Cathy Woods.

Clark will also be missed by his many friends.

His family would like to thank the caring doctors and nurses at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital for the care they provided over these past few months. It is also with enormous gratitude to Dr. Barbandi for not only his care but the friendship he shared with Clark.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services.

Alicia Marie Simmons, 34, a resident of Houston, died Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at her residence.

Ms. Simmons is survived by her parents Kenneth Morris Simmons and Sharon Marie Simmons and a host of other relatives and friends.

Leah B. Penrod Heuszel, 90, of Katy, died Monday, December 7, 2015, at the Heritage Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Katy.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Friday, December 11, 2015 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, December 11, 2015, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Pace Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens in Cleveland.

Leah was born February 28, 1925 in Windber, Pennsylvania, to parents; Roy E. and Delema Z. Herndon Penrod, was a former resident of Livingston, Galena Park, Cleveland, Brenham, Cypress, and has resided in Katy for the past two years. She was a graduate of the Livingston High School, a homemaker, and of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Heuszel was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years: Alvie Heuszel, son: Paul L. Heuszel, brother: Roy E. Penrod, Jr., sister: Delma E. Brock, and her parents. She is survived by her daughter: Sharon Thompson and husband David of Katy, grandchildren: Lane Thompson and wife Necole, Kipp Thompson and wife Kristy, Lauren Adams and husband Brian, and Katie Heuszel, great-grandchildren: Haley and Tyler Thompson, Jordyn and Amanda Thompson, Jaxson Adams, Averee Silva, and Jeremy Silva, Jr., and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

For those who desire donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011, in Leah’s name.
