Benton

Elwood Delano Benton, a lifelong resident of the Dayton area, died Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in Granbury, Texas.

He was born on May 21, 1927 in East Gate, Texas, one of nine children to the late James, Sr. and Prudie McGowan Benton. Elwood graduated from Dayton High School and shortly became a workaholic; working two jobs most of his married life. He worked as an inspector for Hughes Tool Company, he then became a barber and opened his own barber shop in the Highlands area, and he worked for many years as a foreman with National Pipe and Tube and would deliver gas and do any repairs needed with Williamson Propane. Elwood never met a stranger. He and his wife Bessie were members of the Blanchard Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas until August 2015, where he also served as a Deacon. Elwood recently joined the Fairview Baptist Church in Granbury, Texas. He was also a Mason for many years. Elwood enjoyed many hobbies but some of his favorites included hunting, fishing and farming.

Elwood was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Wayne Benton; his grandson, Aaron; two brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Bessie Cora Smith Benton of Granbury, Texas; his daughter, Mitsie Benton of San Marcos, Texas; his grandson, Matt Richeson and wife Brandi of Granbury, Texas; his great-grandson, Wyatt Richeson; his two sisters and a sister-in-law; and other loving family members and friends. Elwood will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A graveside service and committal will be held at 10am on Monday, November 23, 2015 in Magnolia Park cemetery, Dayton, Texas.

Huelesbusch

Willie Jo Huelesbusch age 90 died Tuesday November 17, 2015 in Kingwood, Texas.

Willie Jo was born April 12, 1925 in Hamilton, Texas the daughter of the late Joseph Lowery and Audie Wilhite Lowery. A homemaker, she enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. She also was a member of the Elks Lodge of Liberty with her husband Lawrence.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her sons Lawrence Michael Huelsebusch and Joseph Lynn Huelsebusch, sister Clota Dean Lowery Rough, and a brother Leroy Lowery.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of seventy-one years Lawrence Huelsebusch, grandson Joe Huelsebusch and his wife Misty. In addition she leaves her three great-grandchildren, Emilia, Rice, and Logan, and a host of nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Willie Jo will be held Friday November 20, 2015 from 5-8 P.M. at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. A funeral service will be held 10AM Saturday November 21, 2015 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Fairlawn Memorial Park.

Williams

Willie Mae Williams, 68, died at her residence in Opelousas, Louisiana on Saturday, November 14, 2015.

Visitation: Saturday, November 21, 2015, 9:00 am - 11:00 am, Wells Funeral Services in the Althea P. Gibson Memorial Chapel, 300 Alabama St, Liberty, Texas. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am.

Interment will be in Wells Memorial cemetery in Liberty, Texas.

Wells Funeral Services at 300 Alabama Street, Liberty, Texas has been entrusted with final arrangements.

Garcia

Ismael Colmenero Garcia, 72, of Dayton, died Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at his residence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 20, 2015, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial following at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Ismael was born May 5, 1943 in Mexico to parents; Nolberto Colmenero and Leonarda Garcia, and has resided in Dayton for the past two months. He was a heavy equipment operator in the farming while in Mexico.

Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by his wife: Aracelia Cervantes, his parents, two sisters, and one brother. He is survived by his children: Irma Colmenero, Teresa Colmenero, Mario Colmenero, Ismael Colmenero, Jr., Juana Colmenero, Luisa Colmenero, Lupe Colmenero, Jose Colmenero, Claudia Colmenero, and Carlos Colmenero, two sisters, one brother, numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Everitt

Rufus “Jack” William Everitt, age 74 of Liberty, died at his residence on November 15, 2015.

Jack was born July 13, 1941 in Libby, Mt, son of the late Ernest and Ardith Hudlowe Everitt. After completion of high school, Jack entered into the U.S. Army in 1958 and served for over twenty years until his retirement in 1979. While in the army, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Expert Badge (Rifle) medal. Jack then worked as a truck driver for thirty plus years. He loved his western movies, his animals but mostly loved his family and grandkids.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Barbara Beavers, brother; Orin Everitt, great-granddaughter; Neenah Thompson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of thirty-six years; Kathlyn Everitt of Liberty, sons; Rufus W. Everitt Jr and wife Dot of New York, Michael Repka and wife Sally of Dayton, daughters; Cathy Masters and husband Ronnie of Ohio, Deborah Richards of Waco, Denise Everitt of Houston, Angelina Mitchum and husband Robert of Dayton, brother; Tom Everitt and wife Nettie of Washington, sisters; Sarah Shafer and husband Tony of Maryland, Sue Everitt of Florida, fifteen grandchildren; Joey, Jamie, Elizabeth, Holli, Keannen, Natasha, William, David, Lilyana, Halie, Kathrine, Shane, Angel, Miranda and Emily, four great-grandchildren; Bryant, Blake, Vanessa and Moleigh.

Services for Rufus “Jack” William Everitt will be Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 10am at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX with Rev. Harry Laxton officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the family, 704 Layl Drive, Liberty, TX 77575.

LeBlanc

Wonda Gene LeBlanc, a twenty-seven year resident of the Dayton area, died after a forty-one year battle with cancer on Friday, November 13, 2015 in Baytown, Texas. She was born in Corsicana, Texas, on June 14, 1944, the daughter of the late William and Thelma Shue Ward.

Wonda was a beautiful person, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who was outgoing and loving. She was a collector of angels and she enjoyed talking; most would say she never met a stranger. Wonda was active with her boys in their sports and other activities. She loved and supported the Dayton football games. Wonda also enjoyed fishing with her husband, Alley J. LeBlanc, Sr. at the Bolivar Peninsula, where they lived for a while before moving to Baytown, Texas.

Wonda and her husband moved from the Houston area to Dayton, raising cattle in the country. They were members of Calvary Baptist Church for many years, where Wonda sang in the choir.

Wonda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of thirty-four years, Alley Joseph LeBlanc, Sr.; her son, Alan Christopher LeBlanc; her step-son, Alley Joseph LeBlanc, Jr.; and her brothers William Horace Ward, Jr. and Virgil Davis Ward, Sr.

She is survived by her son, John Eli LeBlanc and wife Suzie of Longview, Texas; her step-daughters, Pat Patterson of Maysfield, Texas and Rhonda Ricks and husband Mike of Maysfield, Texas; her step-sons, George LeBlanc of Buffalo, Texas and Tony LeBlanc of Dayton, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Lynn LeBlanc of Baytown, Texas; her sisters, Peggy Marie Boatman of Shepherd, Texas, Rhoda Levonia Gregory and husband James of Baytown, Texas and Beverly Melinda McAdams of Baytown, Texas; her grandchildren, Daniel, Candice, Lance, Alli and Garrett; her step-grandchildren, Tom, Regina, Renee, Jennifer, Monica, Dianna, Ricky, Betty, Abby and Shelley; her nineteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren; her dearest friend and companion of fifteen years, Frank Villanueva of Mont Belvieu, Texas; and numerous extended family and friends. Wonda will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6pm until 8pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street, Dayton, Texas 77535. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Palms Memorial Park, Dayton, Texas.

Hundley

Samuel Walter Hundley, age 82, died Monday, November 16, 2015, at his home in Hull, Texas.

He was born January 22, 1933, in Covington, Louisiana, to Hillman and Janice Williams Hundley. As a young man, Sam was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He served his country in both the U.S. Army and National Guard during the Korean Conflict. The bulk of his career was spent working for G&G Oil Well Service. Sam was a skilled mechanic, working on engines as a hobby for friends and neighbors. He was a creative handyman who could repair almost anything with next-to-nothing. He also enjoyed playing dominoes and bridge with many wonderful friends who visited his home. He was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church in Daisetta, serving as a deacon and a Bible study leader.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Carolyn Hundley Gilfillian.

He is survived by his wife Janet Williams Hundley; his sisters Hilda Welch, Wilda Beck, and Anne Dischler; his daughters Dianne Hundley Brazell, and Darla Hundley Elder and husband Jason; his son Samuel Hundley, Jr.; his granddaughters Michelle Mangum-Merendino and husband Jared, Jami McKey Watts and husband Clayton, Karah Brazell, and Micaela Hundley; grandsons Cory Elder and wife Leah, Jordan Elder and wife Sami, and Matthew Hundley; great-granddaughters Dani Perkins, Isabella Merendino, and Clara Watts; great grandsons Kendall Merendino, Jonah, Micah, Titus, and Peyton Elder.

Services for Samuel Walter Hundley will be Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 2pm at Central Baptist Church in Daisetta, TX with burial to follow at Oakdale cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX.

McDanel

Mary Louise McDanel, age 89 of Cleveland, Texas, died Friday, November 13, 2015. She was born May 1, 1926 in Houston, Texas to parents Lee and Mamie Roberts who preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, John McDanel; daughter, Kathy Blazek; son, Bruce McDanel and wife Isabell; grandchildren, Tracey McNulty and husband Ronnie, Jill Sanford and husband Michael, Matthew McDanel and wife Kimberly, Shaun Phillips, Kristi Bailey and husband Jimmy, Lindsey Phillips, and Tyler Jones; great-grandchildren, Megan McDanel, Ronnie McNulty, Alton McNulty, Forrest Sanford, Tyler McDanel, Brady McDanel, Macray Phillips, Augustus “Gus” Phillips, Hunter Phillips, Bella Phillips, Layton Bailey, and Bayleigh Watson and Jordyn Bailey; great-great-grandson, Ethan, along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Houston National cemetery, Houston, Texas.

Reeves

Jerrelle Delroy "Tadpole" Reeves Jr.of Dayton died on Wednesday November 11, 2015 at Houston Methodist San Jacinto Hospital of Baytown. He was 59.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday November 14, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Reeves cemetery in Dayton, with Reverend Michael Cotie and Reverend Leroy Stevens officiating.

A native of Dayton, he had lived in Dayton most of his life and was a retired heavy equipment operator for Richie Bros. of Houston.

He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Reeves, brothers, James Ray Reeves, Tommy Reeves and Clinney Reeves.

He is survived by his parents JD and Martha Reeves of Dayton, son, Jason Reeves of Carthage, and daughters Patricia Nail and husband Tommy of Dayton, and Cindy Kirby and husband Joey of Mt. Belvieu.

Brothers, Kenneth Reeves of Dayton, and Charlie Reeves and wife Tina of Anahuac.

Sisters, Linda Reeves of Dayton, Cathy Brown and husband Alvin of Dayton, Anita Brown and husband Jerry of Dayton.

Grandchildren are Austin Nail, Kobe Reeves, AJ Nail, Mikey Reeves, Martha Nail, Kadyn Kirby, Karsyn Kirby, and Konnor Kirby.

Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends.

Serving as pallbearers are Michael Burns, William Brown, Curtis Brown, Timothy Brown, Jeffery Brown, Kevin Brown, Austin Nail, Kobe Reeves, and AJ Nail

White

Jerry Norman White, a sixty-seven year resident of Anahuac, passed away in Houston on Wednesday, November 11, 2015.

Jerry was born in Port Arthur, Texas, on April 29, 1937, the son of the late Tony White and Inez Simmons White. He spent his early career in the oil industry at Texas Gas. In the mid-60’s, Jerry decided to join the family business as a rice farmer, and continued for fifteen to twenty years before deciding to become a truck driver, where he spent about fifteen more years traveling all over the country. He thoroughly enjoyed attending a local men’s fellowship with his son on Tuesday nights. Jerry liked to spend his spare time reading and discussing politics. He was a member of the Methodist church, and a graduate of the Anahuac High School Class of 1956.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Bobby Fisher.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly sixty-one years, Betty Stouder White; daughter, Becky Teems of Richmond; sons, Tom White and wife Becki of Liberty, and Steven White of Anahuac; sister, Linda Maxwell Fisher of North Carolina; granddaughter, Heather Teems of Austin; grandson, Kyle White of Denton; sister-in-law, Carol Prescott of Austin; aunt, Eva of Grand Prairie; nieces, Dawana, and Jennifer; nephews, Troy, Scott, and Ronnie; and many cousins. Jerry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Jerry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 13, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 South Main in Anahuac. Funeral services to be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Anahuac Assembly of God, 1100 Oak Street in Anahuac, with burial to follow in Anahuac cemetery. .

Vacha

Patsy R. Odom Vacha, 62, of Liberty, died Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 14, 2015, at the Moss Hill cemetery in Moss Hill. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Patsy was born November 12, 1952 in Liberty, to parents; Scott Odom and Linnie Alcorn, and has been a lifelong resident of Liberty. She was a graduate of the Hardin High School class of 1971 and a homemaker. She also enjoyed collecting, crossword puzzles, and reading.

Mrs. Vacha was preceded in death by her father: Scott Odom, mother: Linnie Alcorn Key and sisters: Vallie McDonald, Norma “Cooter” Leonard, Sue “Skeeter” McGraw, and Connie Lopez. She is survived by her husband of 19 years: Kevin Vacha of Liberty, son: Larry Smith and wife Angile of Moss Hill, daughter: Odetta Samantha Smith of Moss Hill, stepdaughters: Bambi Brown of Hardin and Sarah Vacha of Florida, stepsons: Bubba Vacha of Florida and Michael Vacha of Missouri, brothers: John Odom and wife Barbara of Liberty and Craig Odom and wife Hazel of Port Neches, grandchildren: Ashley Taylor and Michael Shawn Taylor, step-grandchildren: Cheyenne Brown, Heather Brown, Zachery Davis, Matthew Havener, and Isaiah Lane, great-grandchild: Calli Faye Dickson, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
