Geneva Bell Bailey 91, of Daisetta, died on Saturday October 3, 2015 at Allen Brook Health Care Center of Baytown.

She was born January 4, 1924 in Hawkins, Texas to J.D. Wilabay and Lessie Hester Young.

She had lived in Daisetta most of her life and had worked a Postmaster for the Daisetta post office for many years. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Daisetta.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Broom, her son Gerald David Broom and numerous brothers and sisters.

Survivors are her son, Jimmy Broom and wife Barbara of Hull, daughter, Cathy Grand and husband Louie of Nacogdoches.

Grandchildren are Angela Costlow and husband Ronnie of Batson, David Broom and wife Amy of Dayton, and Melissa Varnon and husband Stuart of Liberty.

Great grandchildren are Kelly Costlow, Cole Costlow, Tyler Varnon, Dylan Varnon, Cody Broom and Lawson Broom.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Tuesday October 6, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services.

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday October 7, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Guedry cemetery in Batson with Reverend Tony Hines of Hardin Baptist Church officiating.

Service of remembrance under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Services Inc. 40847 Hwy 105E. Batson, Texas 77519.

Mitchamore

Margaret Beatrice Mitchamore of Galveston, formerly of Livingston, died Tuesday September 29, 2015 at U.T.M.B. Hospital in Galveston. She was 73.

She was born December 07, 1941 to Albert Fowler and Viellena Vanderslice in Galveston, and was a homemaker

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, David Carrol Mitchamore; mother, Viellena Vanderslice; father, Albert Fowler, sister, Lillie Mae Shively and brother, Albert J. (Bubba) Fowler.

She is survived by her sister, Elouise Albonetti and husband Tony of Galveston, sons, Clarence Mitchamore and wife Carolyn of Corrigan, David Clyde Mitchamore of Lufkin, Albert J. Mitchamore of Livingston, and Hayden Mitchamore of Galveston.

Daughter, Delores Meehan and husband Frankie of Fannett. Sister in law, Delores Gilbert and husband Ken of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Grandchildren are Melissa Smith and husband Derrick of Lufkin, Matthew Enloe and wife Monika of Batson, Chantal Foyil of Port Acres, Bryan Allen Rogers of Spring, Tony Mitchamore of Minot, N.D. Justin Mitchamore of Lufkin, Cheyenne Mitchamore of Saratoga, Misty Brown and sister Melinda of Livingston.

Great Grandchildren are D.J. Smith, Brandon Smith, Hailey, Laci and Paisley Enloe of Batson. And a host of other relatives and loving friends.

A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday October 6, 2015 at New Life Assembly of God Church in Batson, with Pastor Bill Campbell officiating.

Hashaw

Matthew Ian Hashaw infant son of Matthew and Lindsey Parks Hashaw of Batson, died on Tuesday September 29, 2015 in Beaumont.

Graveside service will be held on Sunday October 4, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Guedry cemetery in Batson, with Reverend Tolbert Hudspeth officiating.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Saturday October 3, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family.

Survivors other than parents, are grandparents, Annette and Michael Hashaw of Batson, and Kenneth and Theresa Parks of Honey Island, and other great grandparents and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Service of remembrance under the direction of Faith & Family Funeral Services Inc. 40847 Hwy 105 E. Batson, Texas 77519.

Jones

Lillian Jones 81, of Tampa, Florida, formerly of Liberty, Texas died Sept. 22, 2015.

Services will be Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church 2812 N. Cleveland St. Dayton, Texas. Visitation will began at 9AM until funeral at 11AM.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents: Rosavella Hill Grays and Robert Carter. Siblings: Robert Carter, Jewel Tarver, Evelyn Newman.

Cherishing her memories are her children: Wendell E. Hubert, Sr. (Sharon), Margaret Churchwell (Billy), Thomas Ford III (Karen), Earnest Ford (Robbin), Terri Ford. Grand Children: Shannon, Wendell Jr, Denise, Marcus, Tammy, Thomas IV, Abril, Jalen, and Mariah. Aunt: Alice Green. Sister-In-Law: Beatrice Payne. 12-Great Grandchildren, 3-Great Great Grandchildren. Special friends: Mrs. Pamela Lindsey and Mrs. Bertha Lotte. A host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.

Mrs. Jones’s services have been entrusted to Proctor's Mortuary (Location in Anahuac, Beaumont and Silsbee, TX.)

Neal

Wayne Neal, age 84 of Hardin, died at his residence on October 1, 2015.

Wayne was born February 11, 1931 in Liberty, TX, son of the late John Mayfield Neal Jr and Zeffie Irene Myrick Neal. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1954. Wayne worked as an electrician most of his life. He worked as an engineer on tug boats and then went to work for Wolferson Electric for ten years. After that he continued as an electrician for U.S. Steel for ten plus years before retiring. In his leisure time, Wayne loved the outdoors and hunting. He especially loved his cows as well as talking to his cows. He will be missed by all.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, mother of his children; Barbara Jean Neal, and step-brother; Travis Reed. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of forty-four years; Margie Burnice Neal of Hardin, sons; Mark Neal and wife Leigh Ann of Hardin, Gregory Neal of Pasadena, TX, daughters; Kathy Green and husband John of Old River, Nancy Neal of Baytown, step-daughters; Kathy Radel of Hardin, Terri Baker and husband Jim of Houston, brothers; Roy Reed and wife Marilyn of Hardin, Tommy Reed and wife Pattie of Fredericksburg, TX, fifteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Kathy Radel and Linda Morgan for the care that was giving to Wayne during his final days of life.

Services for Wayne Neal will be Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 2pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service from 1pm to 2pm. Burial will follow at Hardin Chapel cemetery.

Wages

William Wesley Wages Jr Age 75 died Tuesday September 22, 2015 in Liberty.

Bill was born in Houston, Texas August 25, 1940 the son of the late William Wages Sr. and Geraldine Reives Wages. A graduate of Crosby High School class of 1957. He went on to join the Air Force, later he worked as truck driver for Balckgold in Liberty.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife Bobbie Wages, step-daughter Jeanette Garness, and a grandson Gerald Potts.

He leaves behind his daughter Brenda Wages Carpenter, grandsons Harvey Potts, and Doug Garness, granddaughter Sherri Caudell, great-grandchildren Charlton Caudell and Lane Garness, as well as two brothers Pat Faulkner and Mike Faulkner.

A graveside service was held Sunday September 27, 2015 at Corinth cemetery in Kennard, Texas. Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas was entrusted with the arrangements.

Slaton

Lillian Catherine Slaton, age 89 of Liberty, died September 28, 2015 in Houston, TX.

Lillian was born January 2, 1926 in Amityville, NY, daughter of the late Franklin Stark and Emma Cook Stark. She married Clyde P. Slaton in 1952 and was married thirty-four years until his death in 1986. Lillian was in the cleaning business and moved to Liberty from New York in 2007. She was a diehard New Yorker and never lost her accent. Lillian enjoyed crocheting blankets, watching birds and tending to her plants. She loved her grandchildren and especially her great-grandchildren.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son; William Hall, and brothers; Frank and George Stark. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, son; Clyde P. Slaton Jr, daughters; Peggy Slaton, Kathleen Higgins, Evelyn Rodriguez, Suzanne Bernard, sister; Anna McGuire, eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Services for Lillian Catherine Slaton will be Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 11am at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX. Visitation will be Friday, October 2, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be October 5, 2015 at 1pm at Maple Grove cemetery, 127-15 Kew Gardens Road, Kew Gardens, NY.

Petters

Jimmy Gene Petters, 89, of Eastgate, died Sunday, September 27, 2015, at the Liberty Healthcare Center in Liberty.

Mass of Christina Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 1, 2015, at the St. Anne’s Catholic Church with burial following at St. Anne’s Catholic cemetery in Eastgate. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, with rosary services at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Jimmy was born August 29, 1926 in Wichita Falls, to parents; Adolph D. and Vincie Snasel Petters, a former resident of Crosby, and has resided in Eastgate for the past 41 years. He was a veteran of the US Army with service during WW II, a retired pipefitter, and member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Mr. Petters was preceded in death by his parents, grandson: Devon Anderson, six brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by his wife Evelyn Kovalcik Petters of Eastgate, sons: Vincent Petters and wife Donna of Eastgate and Jeffrey Petters and wife Deleta of Crosby, daughter: Katrina McNeely and husband David of Kingwood, brother: William Petters and wife Louise of Crosby, grandchildren: Paul Petters and fiancé Taylor Webb, Sarah Petters, Brice Petters, Savannah Petters, and Eric McNeely, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Lamb

Dennis Leroy Lamb, 68, of Anahuac, Texas died September 24, 2015 at home. He was surrounded by family and friends at the end of his courageous fight with Cancer.

Dennis was born in Phoenix, Arizona on June 25, 1947 to Travis Leroy Lamb and Pauline Fern Terrell. After Graduating School, he went into the US Army, worked in the oilfield as a roughneck in Southern Louisiana...... Afterwards, he was a Train Engineer for US Steel and Amoco Chocolate Bayou for 30 plus years.

Dennis was a loving father that taught his children many lessons of strength, endurance, and even when to be stubborn. His passion in life was raising, training and riding American Quarter Horses which he did for over 40 years.

He is preceded in death by his mother: Pauline Fellers and stepfather: Douglas Fellers of Odessa, Texas, brother: Randy Brown of Palmer, Alaska and sister: Phyllis Jones of Odessa, Texas.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years Lou Ann Lamb, his daughter: Laurie Lamb and husband Jerry Watts, his granddaughters: Stormie Watts of Anahuac, Texas and Kayla McMahon of Bryan, Texas, his sons: Quade Lamb of Houston, Texas and Clayton Lamb of Anahuac, Texas. He is also survived by his siblings: Marvin “Butch” Lamb and wife Helen, Sandy Stanley and husband Marvin, and Linda Dorsett and husband Kenneth all of Odessa, Texas, along with many nieces and nephews.

Dennis' Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, October 3, 2015 10:00 AM at Hankamer Community Fellowship, 2844 FM 1663 Hankamer, Texas 77560. Interment will be in Barrow cemetery, Hankamer.

Venegas

Brenda Joyce Venegas nee Winthrop of Liberty, died Friday, September 25, 2015 in Liberty.

Services for Mrs. Venegas will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 29 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton. Visitation will be Monday, September 28 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Brenda was born January 22, 1957, in Lufkin, Angelina County, Texas, to parents: Charles David and Lena Lane Winthrop. Brenda was a wife, mother and homemaker. She took great joy in her family, especially her grandchildren. Brenda loved to sit outside with a cup of coffee and watch the birds that came to visit her lawn.

Mrs. Venegas is survived by her husband, Gerardo “Jerry” Venegas of Liberty; sons, Jason Finley and wife Bethany and Aaron Venegas; daughters, Katie Thornton and husband, Dustin and Ashley Gruver and husband, Austin Grandchildren: Colton Gruver, Madison and Maci Thornton, Easton and Avery Venegas, Jayce, Savanna, Mickayla and Brandon Finley; Brothers : Charles Winthrop and wife, Mary Ronnie Winthrop and wife, Connie, and Larry Winthrop and wife, Tammy; Sister: Elaine Winthrop Modisette and numerous other relatives and friends

Brenda was preceded in death by Parents: Charles and Lena Winthrop; Sister: Donna Kay Winthrop and Niece: Vanasa McCallister.
