Bracewell

Dexter A. Bracewell, 62, of Crosby, died Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 27, 2015, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Ryan cemetery in Tarkington Prairie. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Dexter was born May 8, 1953 in New Orleans, Louisiana, to parents; Raymond J. and Mildred Hazel Taylor Bracewell, a former resident of Duralde, Louisiana, and has resided in Crosby for the past 30 years. He was disabled at a young age and graduated high school in Louisiana. He also enjoyed wood working, fishing, photography, and especially spending time with his family.

Mr. Bracewell was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Paul Bracewell, and grandmother: Georgia Wimberley. He is survived by his sister: Geneva Lynn Greenland and husband Bobby of Dickinson; brothers: Steve Bracewell and wife Sherry of Louisiana, Austin Bracewell and wife Linda of Liberty, Alden Bellow and wife Arleen of Louisiana, and David Bellow and wife Angie of Louisiana; nieces: Megan Culpepper, Wendi Parrish, and Lynn Greenland; nephews: Steve Bracewell, Jr., August Bracewell, Brandon Bracewell, Adam Bellow, Robert Greenland, Allen Greenland, and Joseph Greenland; great-nieces: Chelsea Castor, Emma Parrish, and Kasie Bracewell; great-nephews: Matthew Bracewell, Jeremy Castor, Michael Bracewell, Nathanial Bracewell, Connor Parrish, Collin Parrish, Luke Bellow; extended family: Misty Adams, Misty Michelle Adams and Charlotte Soto; also a host of friends.

Burkett

Hazel Frances Burkett age 80 died Wednesday September 23, 2015 in Humble.

Frances was born in Liberty, Texas, October 10, 1934 and raised in Devers, the daughter of the late James Corbertt Hall and Merle Hazel Ward Hall. She worked for numerous years at an insurance company. She was active in her church, and enjoyed reading and caring for her roses. She especially enjoyed playing her piano.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Hershel Ray Burkett and a daughter-in-law Cathy Burkett.

She leaves her son David H. Burkett, daughter Debra E. Standridge and husband Mark, sister Linda Coombs, brother Allen Hall, grandchildren Sarah Edgar, Cory Standridge, and Andrew Standridge. In addition she leaves her four great-grandchildren Amelia Coella, Scarlett, Willow, and Ashlyn Standridge.

Visitation will be held Sunday September 27, 2015 from 5-8 P.M. at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral services to be held 10AM Monday September 28, 2015 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Stacy cemetery.

Daniels

Lois Marie Daniels, died Monday September 21, 2015 in Beaumont, TX. She was 68 years of age.

She was born March 10, 1947 in Anahuac, TX, to James Everett Lowe and Bessie Laura Bush and had lived in Batson, since 1989 and was a receptionist for Daniel Hearing Aid Service in Liberty, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Everett Lowe and Bessie Laura Bush; brothers, Cleo Lowe, Marlin Lowe and Ancel Lowe and one sister Mamie Fore.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Daniels of Batson, son, Eric Daniels and wife Carrie of Dayton. Daughter, Christine Exline and husband Michael of Sour Lake, TX. Brothers, Perry Lowe and Leon Lowe both of Thornton, TX, and sister Emma Spear of Cleveland TX.

Grandchildren are Emily Daniels, Brandy Exline and Thomas Exline. Great grandchildren 5.

A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday September 24, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Batson Prairie Baptist Church with Reverend Lee Gruver and Reverend Joseph Fregia officiating.

Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery of Batson

The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday September 23, 2015 starting at 5:00 P.M. at Batson Prairie Baptist church.

Serving as pallbearers are David Welch, Hunter Exline, Bo McAnally, Wayne Daniels, Bubba Gordon and Mike Joy.

Kennedy

Janis Lee Jones Kennedy, 63, of Dayton, died Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 26, 2015, at the Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Janis was born February 1, 1952 in Hernando, Mississippi, to parents; Lawrence and Billie Sue Jones. She was a graduate of Hornlake High School, member of Fisher Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. She also enjoyed using the computer.

Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by her father: Lawrence Jones, mother: Billie Sue Sheffield, and brothers: Larry and Ernest Jones. She is survived by her husband of 35 years: Mike Kennedy of Dayton, daughter: Marilyn Fizel of Dayton, son: Russell Scott of Mississippi, grandchildren: Jacob Fizel, Nicole Fizel, Joey Scott, and Josh Scott, great-grandchildren: Conner Large and Elliott Fizel, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Johnston

Lamar William Johnston, age 57 of San Marcos, died at his residence on September 16, 2015.

Lamar was born October 30, 1957 in Liberty, TX son of the late Joseph William Johnston and Carolyn Welch Johnston. Lamar attended Lamar University in Beaumont and then went on and received his law degree from South Texas College of Law. He could get lost in his hobbies from working on his muscle cars, especially his Camaros, to his deer hunting.

Lamar was preceded in death by his parents as well as a sister; Zane Johnston Watkins. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, sister; Jacqueline Johnson, nephew; Kyle Watkins, niece; Jill Meltzer and numerous great nieces and nephews and extended family.

Graveside services for Lamar William Johnston will be Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 11am at Fairlawn cemetery in Liberty. Arraignments are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX.

Rodriguez

Mary Jo Matta Rodriguez, 69, of Dayton, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2015, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with services concluding thereafter.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Mary Jo was born September 18, 1946 in Roswell, New Mexico, to parents; Jose Matta and Rosie Perez Matta, a former resident of Dallas, and has resided in Dayton for the past 14 years. She was a homemaker and had attended both secretarial and beauty colleges. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, puzzles, and especially spending time with her family.

Mrs. Rodriguez was preceded in death by her father: Jose Matta, mother: Rosie Perez Duran, son: Julian Silvas, Jr., and sisters: Sarah Young and Eunice Ramirez. She is survived by her daughters: Gloria Rubio and husband Mark of Liberty and Corine Ruiz and husband Eleno of Liberty, sons: Phillip Silvas and wife DeVonda of Dallas, Joseph Silvas and wife Mildred of Houston, and Ishmael Martinez of Vancouver, sisters: Frances Matta of New Mexico, Ruth Macias of Lubbock, Rebecca Randal of New Mexico, Rachael Martinez of New Mexico, and Lucy Hernandez of Princeton, grandchildren: Carlos Rubio, Orlando Rubio, Raymond Rubio, Emily Conner, Joseph Silvas, Jr., Lawrence Silvas, Christian Silvas, Priscilla Silvas, Taylor Silvas, Phillip Silvas, Jr., Shoshana Martinez, and Jarron Martinez, great-grandchildren: Carlos Rubio, Jr., Jade Savala, Ruby Savala, Paiton Rubio, Isaiah Conner, Ian Conner, Leilah Silvas, and Dominq Martinez, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Holt

Luther William Holt, 95, of Dayton, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at the Heritage Villa Nursing Home in Dayton.

Graveside services will be held at 2:15 p.m., Monday, September 28, 2015, at the Houston National cemetery in Houston. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Luther was born September 9, 1920 in Chunky, Mississippi, a former resident of Livingston, and has resided in Dayton for the past nine years. He was a veteran of the US Army with service during WW II, member of the Livingston VFW Post #8568, and a retired roughneck from Diamond Oil Company. He also enjoyed working on cars, gardening, and fishing.

Mr. Holt was preceded in death by his wife: Velma E. Jackson Holt and son: Jerry L. Holt. He is survived by his son: Billy W. Holt and wife Shirley, daughters: Marilyn D. Young and Roxanne D. Higgins and husband Kevin, grandchildren: Robin D. Fick, Jamie D. New, Denise Aills, Aaron Aills, and Isabella Crockett, great-grandchildren: Kenneth Fick, Dixie Fick, Daisy Fick, Paul Young, Julianne Young, Vince Young, Angel Young, Ryker McClary, and Ashley New, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Stringer

Joe Donavan Stringer age 55 died Saturday September 12, 2015 at his home in Dayton after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.

Joe was born in Columbia, Mississippi June 15, 1960 the son of Billy Joe Stringer and the late Jerry Sue Davis Stringer. Joe enjoyed talking on his CB, fishing, riding his four wheelers, and going camping. He most enjoyed being with his loving family. A graduate of Channelview High School class of 1978 he went on to work for the past thirty-six years for NOV as an Operations Manager.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of twenty years Stacie Stringer. Sons: Robert Allen Stringer; Michael Brandon Stringer and wife Chelsey; daughters: Crystal Ann Blackmon and husband Justin; Jessica Lynn Weathers; Kirsten Renee Stringer; brothers: Bobby Joe Stringer and wife Reena; Billy Darrell Stringer and wife Kimberly. In addition he leaves three grandchildren Rylee Ann Stringer, Marley Faith Blackmon, and Max Wayne Blackmon, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Joe will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation for Joe will be held Monday, September 14, 2015 from 5-8 P.M. at Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Dayton, Texas. Funeral services to be held 2 P.M. Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Palms Memorial Park cemetery.

Gardner

Danny Maxine Gardner age 83 died September 11, 2015 at the home of Bobby and Teresa Abt in Anahuac, Texas.

Maxine was the first of seven children, born to Celey Floyd McIntire and Marjory Erlene Ray McIntire. She was born December 31, 1931 at home in Chester, Mississippi. She lived her formative years in Mississippi and graduated from Chester High School. She was married to William Anderson Gardner and lived in Jackson, Mississippi for twenty years before moving to Palestine, Texas with Connie Jones. She enjoyed fishing, dancing, and most especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked as a waitress in Mississippi at numerous restaurants and raised her three girls.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her sisters Addie Joyce Harvey and Rosalyn Curtis McIntire and a brother Gerald Claxton McIntire.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters; Connie Lynn Jones of Baytown, Teresa Annette Abt and husband Bobby of Anahuac, and Donna Sue Frazier and husband Wayne of Cleveland: sisters; Frieda May McIntire of Flowood, Miss. and Johnnie Pearl Lipscomb of Brandon, Miss. brother; Douglas Hugh McIntire of Flowood, Miss. In addition she leaves her eight grandchildren; Bobbie Lynn Hurtt, Misty Jane Haley, Clinton James Abt, Donna Danyell Trousdale, Clayton John Anderson Abt, Maria Annette Kramer, Danny Wayne Frazier, and Krystina May Frazier. She also leaves fourteen great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and her close friends; Jana Crawford and April McDaniel. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held Monday September 14, 2015 from 5-8Pm at Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main Anahuac, Texas. Funeral service to be held 10AM Tuesday September 15, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Anahuac with burial to follow in Anahuac cemetery.

Parker

Milton Douglas “Doug” Parker, 74, of Votaw died Thursday, September 10, 2015.

He was born August 22, 1941 in Dayton to parents, Robert Parker and Lillian Payne Parker. Doug was a lifelong resident of Dayton where he graduated from Dayton High School in 1959. He served in the United States Army and upon returning Doug graduated from Sam Houston State College.

Graveside service for Mr. Parker will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 14, 2015 at French cemetery in Dayton under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Martha Parker of Votaw; son: Robert Parker and wife Kathy of Liberty; daughter: Paula Parker of Moss Hill; grandchildren: Kaylee Parker, Kamryn Parker, and Keaton Parker; brothers: David Parker of Dayton and Doak Parker of Moss Hill; numerous other family members and friends.

Walker

Dolph Morris Walker, 64 of Lumberton, died on Sunday September 6, 2015 at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont, with his family by his side. He was 64.

A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday September 10, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services Chapel. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Ener cemetery in Hemphill, TX.

The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday September 9, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family.

Dolph was born December 10, 1950 to Edgar Morris Walker and Ella Mae Vaughan in Port Arthur, TX, and had lived in Lumberton, since 1997. He had worked at Gulf States Utility Company many years as a meter reader. He was also a U.S. Marine veteran who proudly served his country.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Morris Walker and Ella Mae Vaughan. Son, Dolph M. Walker Jr. daughter, Misty Lynn Walker and sister Letha Walker.

Those surviving him are wife, Shirley Jean Ener Walker of Lumberton, his ex-wife, Sandy Williams Walker Barrett Basar and husband Frank of Port Neches.

Sons, Daniel Walker of Port Neches, and Glen Teel Jr. of Hopkinsville, KY. Daughters, Kimberly Sue Walker of Port Arthur, and Angela Tomlinson and husband Craig of Baytown.

Brother, Johnny "E.J." Walker of Lumberton, and sister Agnes Walker of Lumberton.

Grandchildren are Mark Daniel Larrocha of Odessa, TX, Michaela Danielle Walker of Nederland, Kristina Mariah Lavergne of Port Arthur, and Stormy Kelsey Kibbe of Nederland.

Serving as pallbearers are Austin Walker, T.J. Lavergne, Chad Cracknell, Donnie Dewees, Michael Dewees, Anthony Walker and Wendel Ener and Robert Christian

Honorary pallbearers are Mark Larrocha, Frank Basar, Ernest Matlock, Glen Teel Jr, William Robinson. Keith Williams and Joe Lavergne.
