Duff

Martha Gayle Duff age 69 of Liberty died Monday at Houston Methodist.

Martha was born in Houston, Texas October 28, 1945 the daughter of the late Hershal Howell Bagwell and Virgie Mae Johnson Bagwell. Martha was the owner operator with her husband Jerry of South Liberty Seafood for numerous years. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, gardening, and working on her flowers. She was a great cook who was willing to feed anyone who needed a meal. She taught Sunday school for over twenty-seven years and is a member of the Light House Church of Moss Hill. Her true passion was for her family, she truly loved spending time with them. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brother Hershal Bagwell and her sisters: Gloria Hall; Paulette Goodson; and Delialah Norris.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of fifty-four years Jerry Duff Sr., her six children: Jerry Duff Jr. and wife Tammy; John Duff; Mark Gilbert and wife Chris; Terri Mullenax and husband Joe Mullenax II; Angela Duff; and Rebecca Owens and her husband Rev. Alan Owens; sisters: Mary Duff and husband Billy Sr.; Philis Dugas; Brenda Turner and husband Terry; and a brother Clayton Bagwell. In addition Martha leaves sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Martha will be held 10AM Friday September 4, 2015 at Light House Church of Moss Hill, 17283 Hwy 146 N. Moss Hill, Texas, burial to follow in Palms Memorial Park cemetery in Dayton, Texas.

Page

Earl Page, age 69 of Devers, died August 29, 2015 at his home with loving family by his side.

Earl was born June 18, 1946 in Flora, LA, son of Page and Elizabeth Foshee. He graduated from Provencal High School in 1964, and he joined the US Army in 1965. Earl then moved to the Deer Park area where he worked for Shell Oil Company as a Millwright/Machinist for approx. 25 years. He was an active member of Central Baptist Church during that time, where he was known to raise and donate money for young followers to attend youth camp.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Bummy Page, Buddy Page, and A.M. Page; and his sister Cathryn Neitte. He is survived by his Children, Clinton Page, Percilla Harvey, and Trey Jardina; Step-Children, Todd Grounds, Chad Grounds, and Paul Grounds; Sister, Sissy Page; Niece, Kay Zieschang; Grandchildren, Cody page, Clay Page, Page Harvey, and Kaden Harvey.

Services for Earl Page will be held Wednesday, September 2, at 12 P.M. at Central Baptist Church, 2010 Center Street, Deer Park, TX. Earl will be laid to rest at 1Pm in Weaver cemetery in Flora, LA on Thursday, September 3. The Page family has requested that donations be made in Earl’s memory to Central Baptist Church Student Ministry, in lieu of flowers.

Cain

Ann Pounds Cain, age 81, of Daisetta, TX died peacefully after suffering a massive stroke on Friday, August 28, 2015.

Ann was born in Liberty, Texas the daughter of the late Harold and Aline(Craig) Pounds. Ann was a native of Daisetta, TX and lived the majority of her life in the Liberty County area.

She was a graduate of Hull-Daisetta High School and Lee College. She retired from Tri-County MHMR after numerous years of service, she also sold Tupperware, Avon, and worked at Perry’s and Walmart.

She was an avid historian and was especially interested in documenting the history of the Pounds house and Oakdale cemetery in Daisetta, TX. Her great great grandparents, William D. and Martha Pounds, gave the land to establish Oakdale cemetery. Ann held many jobs throughout the years. The most important was being a mother and grandmother. She was an excellent seamstress and often made her children’s clothes. As her sons grew up she made many a homemade “pimenta” and cheese sandwich that fed their sports teams. She worked very hard to obtain her Associate’s degree in Medical Records from Lee College at the age of 65. For many years she was the pianist at First United Methodist Church in Daisetta. She was currently a member of Central Baptist Church in Daisetta, TX. She was a charter member of the East Liberty County Historical Society. She also was a member of the Red Hat Society.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband, AJ Cain, son, Russell Cain, and a daughter-in-law Jo Cain.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children: Kerry and Donna Cain of Carmine, TX; Carroll and Lesley Cain of Fairfield, TX; Melissa Stengler of Daisetta, TX; and Yolanda Cain of Houston, TX. Her Grandchildren: Kerrah Cain of Cypress, TX; Jon Cain of Dayton, TX; Jacob Cain of Killeen, TX; Aaron Cain of Fairfield, TX; Kandyce Stengler of Daisetta, TX; Garrett Stengler of Daisetta, TX; Sabrina Chrisman of Houston, TX; and Gage Lucas of Spring, TX. Her Great Grandchildren: Breagan Stengler; Rylan Cain; Sisters: Julia Soloman of Chatham, IL; Margaret and Olan Penrod of Sugarland, TX; Dear Friends: Nancy Hale Robertson of Daisetta, TX; Jeanette Williams Davis of Mont Belvieu, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Ann will be held from 5-8 P.M. Monday August 31, 2015 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral services to be held 10AM Tuesday September 1, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Daisetta burial to follow in Oakdale cemetery.

Mitchell

Martha Kay Kervin Mitchell died Friday August 28, 2015 at her home in Hardin with her beloved family by her side.

Kay was born in Dayton, Texas May 6, 1953 the daughter of the late Bill Kervin and Marion “Alice” “Tut” Alexander Kervin. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed puzzles, baking cookies, and watching her favorite shows on television. Kay was an extremely giving individual who would take in anyone in need. She worked as an Office Manager for Main Metal Fabrication, Diamond Shamrock, and other businesses throughout her forty year career.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of forty-two years Billy Mitchell of Hardin, daughter Amanda Mitchell and her companion Eric Rhodes of Dayton, Sisters Rhonda Aldrich and her husband Robert of Hardin, Sheryl Hall of Liberty, and Karen White and husband Tommy of Hardin. In addition she leaves her beloved grandchildren; Austin Rhodes, Morgan Rhodes, Kelton Rhodes, Gracie Mitchell, and Derk Mitchell as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation for Kay will be held Monday August 31, 2015 from 5-8 P.M. at Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St. Dayton, Texas. Funeral Services to be held 10AM Tuesday September 1, 2015 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Palms Memorial Park cemetery.

Gallegos

Kaylee Breanne Gallegos, infant daughter of Martin Gallegos and Laura Villegas Gallegos died Thursday, August 27, 2015 in Baytown.

Graveside service for Kaylee Breanna will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Palms Memorial Park cemetery in Dayton.

She is survived by her parents, Martin and Laura Gallegos; her brother, Martin Gallegos, Jr.; her sisters, Noemi Gallegos and Andrea Gallegos; her grandparents, Luz and Seferino Gallegos and Jose and Margarita Villegas; also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members.

Wooldridge

Brenda Gail Wooldridge, 61, of Liberty died Thursday, August 27, 2015 at her home.

Ms. Wooldridge was born September 11, 1953 in Baytown, Texas to parents, Charles Sylvester and Lois Pauline Nelson Wooldridge. She attended high school in Channelview graduating in 1972 as valedictorian.

Brenda continued her education at Lee College receiving her associate’s in 1974; Texas A&M University receiving her bachelors and master’s degrees, graduating with honors; Strayer College receiving a master’s degree. Brenda was a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Kappa. She was admitted to the National Honor Society for Psychology while at Texas A&M and was in Who’s Who Among American University Students in ’73-’74 and ’94-’95. Ms. Wooldridge was a retired accountant having worked many years in Washington, D.C. for the federal government. She had lived in Houston before moving to Liberty seven years ago. Brenda was a member of the Liberty-Dayton Eastern Star Chapter 634; the Liberty Lions Club, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, the Lost Arts Club, the Low Brow Book Club, the Liberty County Master Gardener Association and the Texas Rural Leadership Program. Brenda loved animals, knitting, crocheting, crafts, cooking and social networking.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother, Marion Wooldridge. Brenda is survived by her brother, Wayne L. Wooldridge and wife Phyllis of Livingston; nephews, Wayne Wooldridge, Jr. and Kevin Wooldridge; grand nieces, grand nephews, great-grand nieces, and great-grand nephews.

No services are scheduled at this time for Ms. Wooldridge. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

For those who desire memorials for Brenda may be made to the Liberty-Dayton OES Chapter 634, P.O. Box 1055, Liberty, Texas 77575.

Walters

Louis Leon Walters, age 57 of Orange, TX died August 25, 2015 in Galveston, TX.

Louis was born January 30, 1958 in Conroe, TX, son of the late Earl George Walters and Charlie Jones Walters. Louis was a heavy equipment operator for Bo-Mac Construction for two years. Before working for Bo-Mac, Louis was truck driver for over twenty years. He always provided for his daughters who he loved so much. Louis was a work-aholic and never met a stranger. He loved his grandchildren and loved going to the beach.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Bruce Walters and sister; Jeannie Hollingsworth. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughters; Latina Walters, Andrea Walters and fiancé’ Zachary Davenport, Melissa Millan and husband Alberto, brothers; Donald Walters, Larry Walters, sister; Patsy Dickey and six grandchildren.

Graveside services for Louis Leon Walters will be Friday, August 28, 2015 at 10am at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 North Main, Dayton, TX.

Seals

Betty Joyce Seals 72, of Liberty, Texas; passed Aug 23, 2015.

Services will be Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 Turkey Creek Missionary Baptist Church 1600 Wallisville Rd. Liberty, TX. Visitation will begin at 11AM until Funeral at 1 P.M.. Interment will be Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, 11:30 Gate Time in Houston National cemetery.

Betty was born in Liberty, Texas to the late Vincent and Katherine Edwards on October 28, 1942.

She was educated at West Liberty High School in Liberty, Teas. She was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents: Vincent and Katherine Edwards, Siblings: Jack Vincent (JV) Edwards, Velma Edwards Cooper and Dorothy Lindsey.

Betty leaves to cherish her loving husband, Robert Seals Sr., son: Gene Robinson, siblings: Mattie Davison, Allma Mallet, James Edwards (Elaine) and Price Edwards (Joyce), grandchildren: Quilla Jackson and Dominique Sauls, great grandchildren: Lanaya Jackson and Mirah Jackson. And a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Seals services have been entrusted to Proctor's Mortuary (Location in Anahuac, Beaumont and Silsbee, TX) ;

Gibson

Linda Marie Gibson, age 70, died Monday August 24, 2015 in Liberty with her loving family by her side.

Linda was born August 15, 1945 in Liberty, Texas daughter of the late W.O. Gibson and Alene Abel Gibson. Linda was an artist, and sold many of her original paintings. She could be recognized by the visor that she wore everywhere. Linda’s most valued treasure was her family. She was a graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1963.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, as well as a brother Larry Wayne Gibson.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sister, Pennie Fullbright, and husband Jimmy Wayne; Nephew, David Fullbright; Nephew, Kris Gibson; and Great-Niece, Monica Fullbright.

Visitation will be held Friday August 24, 2015 from 5-8 P.M. at Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St, Dayton, TX. Funeral services will be held 10AM Saturday August 25, 2015 at Sterling Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Oakdale cemetery.

Remmers

Bobby Dale Remmers, Sr., 46, of Dayton, died Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at his residence.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015, at the family residence. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Bobby was born December 16, 1968 in Liberty, to parents; Archie and Lizzie Dudley Remmers, and has been a lifelong resident of Dayton. He attended Dayton High School and was a former pipeline inspector for Testex Inspections. He also enjoyed playing golf, hunting, and fishing.

Mr. Remmers was preceded in death by his son: Bobby D. “B.J.” Remmers, Jr., and grandparents: Dan and Dorothy Kelley and Barbara Jamison Parks. He is survived by his daughter: Kandis Remmers of Tarkington Prairie, son: Joshua Remmers of Liberty, parents: Archie and Lizzie Remmers of Dayton, sister: Rhonda Wolfe of Dayton, grandchildren: Taytum White and Brodeigh White, nieces: Heather Wolfe and Sara Wolfe, great-niece: Sophia Gomez, great-nephew: Wyatt Bartee, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Roy

Frederick Dale Roy 35 of Houston, Texas; Died Aug. 17, 2015.

Wake services will be Friday, Aug 28, 2015 at Restoration Square Full Gospel Cathedral 5110 Crane St. Houston, TX, from 7 P.M. until 9 P.M..

Funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 29 at Trinity Valley Baptist Church 801 Sam Houston St, Liberty, TX. Visitation will begin at 10AM until Funeral at 11AM. Interment will be in Wells cemetery, Liberty, TX.

Frederick Dale Roy was born on July 2, 1980 in Houston, Texas to the proud parents Sharon Jordan and Michael Cook. He attended Liberty ISD, Houston and Humble public schools.

Frederick accepted Christ at an early age. He completed a number of trades in school such as plumbing, mechanic, HVAC and electrical.

Frederick was a people’s person. He was loving and dedicated to his family and friends. He never met a stranger. Always left a smile and impression on everyone he came across. He is gone home to meet his love ones. He shall truly be missed, but his memories shall last forever.

Preceding him in death Frederick Dale Roy joins his brother: Cederic Roy, nephew: Carl Johnson Jr, grandmother: Ada Warren, uncle: Danny Roy, aunt: Janice Citizen and a host of immediate family.

He leaves to cherish his memories mother: Sharon Jordan (Russell Vaughn), father: Michael Cook, sister: Natalie Roy, brothers: Bryan Boston and Coby Cook, special friend: Twila Bates and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Aunts and Uncles other family and friends.

Mr. Roy's services have been entrusted to Proctor's Mortuary (Location in Anahuac, Beaumont and Sisbee, TX).
