Duty

Donald Eugene Duty, Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, died August 8, 2015.

He was a piping designer over forty years for Brown and Root, Halliburton and lastly K B R. Donald was born on January 12, 1941 in Liberty, Texas; one of seven children born to William and Katy Duty. A Mason for 50 years and past Master of Temple Lodge #4 and he was a past Patron of Houston Chapter #385 O E S.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Billy, Chaffy, Kenneth, Harley and sister, Pat.

Donald is lovingly survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley A. Duty.; sons, Gene Duty and wife Cindy, Glen Duty and wife Heather; grandchildren, Amanda, Brittany, Laura, Hunter and Morgan; great granddaughter, Kinsley; numerous, nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12th 2015 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home 6900 Lawndale Houston, Texas 77023. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13th 2015 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home Colonial Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale cemetery.

Buchanan

Ronald “Ronny” Allen Buchanan, 70 passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015 at home in Dayton after an extended illness.

Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Magnolia Park cemetery under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.

Ronnie was born September 28, 1944 in Bradford, Pennsylvania to parents, Ivan Andrew Buchanan and Norma Janet Halliday Buchanan. He was a previous resident of Houston and had lived in Dayton for the past 20 years. Ronnie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dayton and the Nolan D. Pickett VFW Post #5621. He enjoyed doing woodworking and the company of his dogs.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Patty Buchanan of Dayton; his sister, Linda Shaffer and husband Loren; his step-children, Eleanor Rosenberger and David Etling; also other relatives and friends.

Thank you to all my friends and a special thank you to Rudy and Casey.

Brents

Jewel Marie Perkins Brents age 85 died Sunday August 9, 2015 at her home in Liberty.

Jewel was born March 16, 1930 in Merryville, Louisiana the daughter of the late Clyde Perkins and Viona Smith Perkins. Jewel enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her plants and flowers. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. A devout Christian, Jewel was a lifelong member of the Heights Baptist Church, where she was sure to bring her children and grandchildren. The mother of seven, Jewel was surely a homemaker. In the mid-seventies, she was known to all as one of the ladies working in the World of Fabric in Liberty.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Thomas Boyd Brents, daughter Colleene McCoy, brothers Lester Perkins and Jerry Perkins, and her sisters Adas Spikes and Maxine Harwell.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children: Yvonne Rodgers, Stephen Brents and wife Margaret, Jeff Brents and wife Lee Ann, Jerry Brents, Rocky Brents, and Rodney Brents; sister: Barbara Nelson; brother: Lee Perkins and wife Delores; seven grandchildren: Shonna Osborn, Tommy Brents, Tara Rodgers, Jerry Frank Brents, Jeffery Brents, Michael Brents, and Meghan King. In addition she also leaves five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family, including her loving caregiver Brenda Jannise.

Visitation will be held Tuesday August 11, 2015 from 5-8 P.M. at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral services to be held 10AM Wednesday August 12, 2015 at Heights Baptist Church with burial to follow in Fairlawn Memorial Park.

Smith

Dorothy Marie Smith age 81 died Friday August 7, 2015 in Hull, Texas.

Dorothy was born in Hull, Texas July 24, 1934 the daughter of the late Marion Flowers Sr. and Mary Myers Flowers. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and tending to her flowers. She was a fantastic cook and anyone who ate her chicken and dumplings would certainly agree. She worked over the years in numerous jobs, but will be remembered for her time working as a head cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Louis Smith, brother Kelly Flowers, sister Lottie Roach, and her son Michael Fregia.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Beverly Fregia husband Delbert, daughter Lois Fregia, brother Marion E. Flowers wife Jean, brother George L. Flowers wife Velma, grandchildren; Kris Fregia, Kasie Fregia, Brian Adams, Stacy Hohensee, Amber Waits, and Shelly Abel. In addition she leaves eleven great-grandchildren and host of nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation for Dorothy will be held Monday August 10, 2015 from 5-8 P.M. at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral services to be held 10AM Tuesday August 11, 2015 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Guedry cemetery.

Jewell Wilcox Key died Thursday August 6th, 2015, in Houston, Texas.

Jewell was born in Anahuac, Texas, on July 26, 1927, the daughter of the late Desire Wilcox and Callie Belle Jenny Wilcox. Jewell had the privilege to serve the public as a Clerk for the United States Postal Service for over twenty-eight years spending nearly half of her career in Anahuac, Texas, and the other half in Liberty, Texas. She also interacted with her community as a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and supported the local Fine Arts. Jewell was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Anahuac. She was known by many as someone who never met a stranger, and she spent her free time researching genealogy and local history, or working in her yard caring for her flowers that she dearly loved.

Jewell was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Donald Wilcox and Dickie Wilcox.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved daughter Jeanie D. George and husband Michael; Grandchildren Gina King, Michael George Jr. and wife Donna, Chad George and wife Michelle, Christie Farris and husband Michael; and Great-Grandchildren Jessica King, Devin King, Jonathan George and wife Maggie, Julia George, Jenae George, Wyatt George, Cheyenne Farris, Logan Farris, Makenna Farris, and Ashton Argo. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday August 10, 2015, at the First Baptist Church of Anahuac. Visitation will be held from 5-8 P.M. on Sunday, August 9, 2015, at Sterling Funeral Home, located at 1201 S. Main in Anahuac, Texas.

DeHay

John Thomas DeHay, 79 of Dayton died Wednesday, August 5, 2015 in Liberty, Texas.

Visitation for Mr. DeHay will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. Services are 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with interment to follow at Palms Memorial Park cemetery.

John was born September 27, 1935 in May, Texas to parents Cecil and Emma Lancaster DeHay and graduated from May High School. He was a long time resident of Dayton and was loyal and active member of Trinity Baptist Church. John retired from A & M Machines in 2005. Enjoyed being with his family and traveling. He loved his dogs Weenie, Ginger and Angel.

John was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, John and Trecie Lancaster. He is survived by his wife, Eva Faye DeHay of Dayton; daughters, Lorie Reed, Denita Robertson and husband Leslie, Jodie Laza and husband Mike, Marcie Hill and husband Richard, Elaine Mathews and husband Jeff, and Edana Shoemaker and husband Billy; sons, Rick DeHay and wife Wendy, Thomas DeHay and wife Tammy, Johnny DeHay and wife Mandy, William DeHay, and Eddie Crawford; brothers, Jim Flemming and wife Linda; 24 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; also numerous other relatives and friends.

Morris

Carolyn Morris 62, of Ames, TX died Aug. 04, 2015.

Services will be Saturday, Aug. 08, 2015 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, 101 Donatto Rd., Ames, TX. Visitation will begin at 9AM, Rosary at 10:15AM and funeral at 11AM. Interment will be in Our Mother of Mercy Catholic cemetery, Ames.

Carolyn Marie Young - Morris was born November 12, 1952 in Liberty, TX to the late Hebert Young and Doriska Walters. She united in holy matrimony to Donne Morris in 1977. To this union one child was born. Carolyn later remarried Joseph Walker and this union her youngest son was born.

Growing up she attended Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church where she was an active member. She graduated from Liberty High School in 1971 and later continued her education where she obtained her LVN license. She touched many lives and had a very kind spirit.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents: Hebert Young and Doriska Walters, sister: Margaret (Bertha) Redmond, brother: James (Russell) Young.

She leaves to cherish her memories sons: Donne Morris Jr. and Justin T. Walker Sr. (Lastacia), granddaughter: Ja'Lesa Morris, grandsons: Lattrell Howard, Justin Walker Jr., Aderian Walker, Ja'Quarian Walker, sister: Judine Morris; god children: Jamie Young and Lawanda Arrington, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Morris’ services have been entrusted to Proctor's Mortuary (Location in Anahuac, Beaumont and Silsbee, TX.)

Mosley

Willie Ray “Pep” Mosley, 77, of Raywood, Texas died Saturday, August 1, 2015.

He was born in Liberty, Texas on October 9, 1937, to Eddie and Effie Mosley. He was number eight of thirteen children.

Willie Ray better known as “Pep” lived most of his life in Raywood, Texas. He attended Woodson High School. Later he was in the military, a soldier of the United States Army. Pep’s occupation was truck driving. He loved every minute on the road.

Pep was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings.

Pep was deeply loved and treasured by his family. He leaves to cherish many happy memories, for fifty-two years, his loving wife, Rose Mosley; daughters: Wanda Smith (Tony), Jackie Mosley Ozan (Steve) and Charlotte Lavine Coward (DelMar); sons: Michael Lavine (Robin), Earl Lavine (Lena), Paul Wayne Lavine (Gwen) and Marcus Lavine (Sonja); one sister: Lillian Lee; two brothers: Richard and Herbert Mosley. He also leaves to cherish many fun memories thirteen grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, along with a special friend, Tammy.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, . August 8, 2015, 10:00 AM, at Olive Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 5830 FM 1011, Hardin, Texas 77561. Rev. Greg Bellard, Officiating.

Wells Funeral Services at 300 Alabama Street, Liberty, Texas been entrusted with final arrangements.

Furguson

Mildred Lois Furguson of Saratoga, Texas, died Monday August 3, 2015 at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont. She was 89 years of age.

Mildred was born on February 7, 1926 in Saratoga, to Granville T. Rose and Elsie Ewing Rose. On October 8, 1945 she married Sam L. Furguson, and raised 4 daughters and had lived in Saratoga the remaining days of her life.

Mildred was a member of West End Baptist Church since her childhood where she served as nursery keeper for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Sammy Furguson, brother, Carl Rose and sister Lillian Morse.

Survivors are her husband of 69 years Sam L. Furguson of Saratoga, daughters, Darlene Graham and husband Andrew of Kerrville; Vivian McMullen and husband Scott of Tomball; Terri Hinton and husband Chuck of Livingston; and Lisa Vanya and husband Gary of Jasper.

Grandchildren are John Prater and wife Ursala of Portland OR, Chris McMullen and wife Amy of Trinity, Casey Rosenbaum and husband Zac of Austin, Cassidy McMullen of Houston, Adrianne Murphy and husband Gary Don of Livingston, Ashley Evans and husband Andy and Adrianne Murphy both of Livingston. Garison Vanya of Huntsville, Chad Hinton and wife Jesse of Longview, and Houston Vanya of Conway Ark.

Great grandchildren are Graham Samuel Prater of Portland OR, Judah Rosenbaum of Austin, Melanie Murphy, Allie Rose Evans, and Ace Evans all of Livingston. Also Charlie Hinton, Corinne Hinton, and Cate Hinton all of Longview.

A service of remembrance will be held on Friday August 7, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at West End Baptist Church of Saratoga, with interment to follow at Felps cemetery in Thicket.

The family will be receiving friends on Thursday August 6, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at West End Baptist Church.

Service of remembrance under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Services Inc. 40847 Hwy 105E. Batson, Texas 77519.

Lossie

Jason William Lossie, 34, of Dayton, died Tuesday, August 4, 2015, in Dayton.

Jason was born august 26, 1980 in Pasadena, to parents; Richard W. and Patsy Stewart Lossie, a former resident of Carrolton, and has resided in Dayton for the past five years. He was a truck driver by trade and former construction worker. He also enjoyed fishing, barbecues, and auto racing.

Mr. Lossie was preceded in death by his grandparents. He is survived by his parents: Richard W. and Patsy Stewart Lossie, wife: Caryn Johnston Lossie, sons: Jason Lossie, II, Dacotah Lossie, and Charles Lossie, brother: Grady Lossie and wife Nicole, nephew: Nathan Lossie, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
