Flurry
Ira Ford Flurry, Jr., 79, of Dayton, died Saturday, July 25, 2015, at The Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2015, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Ford was born February 29, 1936 in Dayton to parents Ira Ford Flurry, Sr. and Ethyl Christine Hamilton Flurry, and has been a lifelong resident of Dayton. He was a graduate of Dayton High School class of 1954. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University, and was a farmer and rancher. His involvement with Texas A&M included serving in the Corps of Cadets and membership in the Association of Former Students, the Century Club, the Texas A&M Heritage Society and The 12th Man Foundation. Mr. Flurry served on the board of directors of the Liberty County Farm Bureau, American Rice Growers, Dayton ISD Board of Trustees, Soil and Water Conservation, Liberty County Executive Board, Dayton State Bank, and was an honorary member of the Dayton FFA. He also enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, raising cattle, hunting, fishing, gardening, reading, and Texas A&M sports.
Mr. Flurry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald E. Flurry. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Reidland Flurry of Dayton, daughters: Debbie Arnold and partner Amy Downey of Dayton, Sharon Wilson and husband Jim of Sugar Land, and Peggy Smesny and husband Jim of Dayton. Grandchildren: Todd Arnold and wife Alaina, Andrew Arnold and wife Larissa, Mark Arnold and partner Brad Madrid, Sarah King and husband Raymond, Patrick Wilson and wife Stephanie, Ford Smesny, Kathleen Wilson, Frank Smesny, and Ellie Conn and husband Matt. Great-grandchildren: Emma Arnold, Ava Arnold, Eli Arnold, Caroline Conn, and Boyd Conn. Ford is also survived by brothers, James W. Flurry of Houma, Louisiana and Robert O. Flurry of Dallas Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Smith
Anthony R. Smith, 62 of Anahuac died July 16, 2015.
The second son born to Josephine and Comidore Smith on August 14, 1952, Anthony attended school at G. W. Carver. He graduated May 28, 1971. After high school, he moved to Houston where he attended several trade schools, eventually becoming a certified Air Conditioner installer and repairman. He practiced his craft in Houston for several years in Houston before returning to Anahuac in the mid 1980’s. Anthony spent the remainder of his life working as a self-employed craftsman and devoting time and attention to the welfare of his mother: Josephine Smith .
Anthony is preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother: Josephine Smith, sister: Katherine Hatton, brothers: Barney W. Smith and Eugene Humphrey, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Viewing will be from 9:30AM to 10:30AM. Funeral services will be held 10:30AM, July 25, 2015 at Proctor’s Mortuary, 518 Miller Street, Anahuac, Texas.

Caldwell
Nathan Lawrence Caldwell, age 52 of Shepherd, Texas, died Friday, July 17, 2015.
He was born January 20, 1963 in Salina, Kansas to parents Joe Henry Caldwell, Jr. and Nancy Caldwell. He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Henry Caldwell, Jr.
Survivors include his mother, Nancy Caldwell; sisters, Sharon Caldwell, Sherry Caldwell, and Jo Ann and husband John Nowicki; and nephews, Ron and wife Megan Anderson, Justin Korson, Drew Nowicki, and Tristan Nowicki; numerous other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Farley Chapel, Shepherd, Texas.
Rabon
George Madison Rabon, Jr., 83, of Willis, died Sunday, July 19, 2015, at the Conroe Regional Medical Center in Conroe.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2015, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with services concluding thereafter. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland.
George was born March 12, 1932 in Greenville, Alabama, to parents; George M., Sr. and Awilda Broughton Rabon, and has been a resident of Texas since 1971. He was a veteran of the US Army with service during Korea, a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Alabama, and owner/operator engineering consultant in the oil and gas industry. Mr. Rabon held numerous trade certifications through N.A.C.E. He also enjoyed genealogy, gardening, fishing, country and bluegrass music, and University of Alabama football. He also belong to the veterans associations of B Battery, 711 AAA Gun Battalion, and the 196th Regimental Combat Team.
Mr. Rabon was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Lester and Johnny; and sisters, Lorene and Jewel. He is survived by his wife he married
63 years ago, Juanita Stewart Rabon of Willis; sons, Jim Rabon and wife Joie of Haymarket, VA, and Terry Rabon and wife Dianna of Willis; brother, James Rabon; sisters, Irene Bowersock and Frances Garner; grandchildren, Kristin, Jason, Justin, and James; great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives, and friends.
Miller
Lois Morine Miller, age 91 of Cleveland, Texas, died Saturday, July 18, 2015.
She was born July 20, 1923 in Leon County, Texas to parents Willie and Levia Walker who preceded her in death along with her husband, Howard Miller; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her sons, Herbert Miller and wife Cynthia, Jake M. Patterson and wife Phyllis; brother, Charles Walker and wife Wanda; grandchildren, David Miller and wife Rachelle and Laurie Smith; great-grandchildren, Quintin Smith and Chloe Smith; numerous other relatives and friends.

Burke
Velda Lorene Burke “Smoky”, age 82 of Pasadena, Texas, died Friday, July 10, 2015.
She was born February 18, 1933 in Liberty County to parents Sallie Mae Feazell and Reeder Rice who preceded her in death along with her daughter, Sherry Burke; and step-father, A.W. Feazell.
Velda loved old black and white western films and movies from the 1930’s. Her uncle nicknamed her “Hollywood” because she loved cinema. She also loved her grandchildren and her furry babies.
Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda Calhoun; grandchildren, Angela Murphy, Michelle Calhoun, and Rachel Derkowski; great-grandchildren, Jillian Calhoun and Olivia Derkowski, numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held 12:00 noon, Tuesday, July 21, 2015 with services staring at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Ryan cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.

Marvin Baldwin, 62 of Liberty, Texas died Sunday, July 12, 2015, in Houston, Texas.

Nancy Mae Collins, age 81 of Cleveland, Texas, died Saturday, July 11, 2015.
She was born December 6, 1933 in Waco, Texas to parents Joyce William Crockett and Francis Mae Allen who preceded her in death along with her husband, James Cunningham.

Thompson
Harold Buford “H.B. Rusty” Thompson age 83 died Friday July 17, 2015 in Wallisville with his loving family by his side.
Rusty was born October 13, 1931 in Decker Prairie, Texas the son of the late L.J. Thompson and Pearl Adams Thompson. Rusty enjoyed reading, especially his Louis L’amour novels, and watching the western channel. He loved his horses, saddles, guns, and all his animals. As a contractor he built roads and bridges and was the co-owner in Twister Construction. He also worked for numerous years as a State Inspector for the State of Texas, as a bridge and road inspector.
Rusty was preceded in death by his parents as well as a brother Jerry “Sonny” Thompson.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his four daughters, Darlene Stalbaum husband Gil, Valarie Childers husband Donnie, Idalynn Boykin husband Johnny, and Laura Lou Sylvia husband Jimmy as well as their mother Juanita Terrell. In addition he leaves his brother James “Tommy” Thompson wife Paige, ten grandchildren; Colby Morris, Adrienne McGill, Nathan McGill, Hilary Otto, Seth Childers, Jesse Childers, Kara Dentler, Kristina Kinney, Bo Sylvia, and Kalli Malone. He also leaves eleven great-grandchildren, five nephews, and a niece.
Visitation will be held Sunday July 19, 2015 from 5-8 P.M. at Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main Anahuac, Texas. Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday July 20, 2015 at Magnolia Baptist Church, 811 Lilly Yeager Loop N. Cleveland, Texas with burial to follow in Thompson cemetery.
Jeanes
Terry Wayne Jeanes, 54, of Onalaska, formerly of Batson, died Tuesday July 14, 2015 at his residence.
A service of remembrance will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday July 18, 2015 at Faith & Family Funeral Services chapel with Reverend Don Hinklin and Mike Jeanes officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery of Batson. The family will be receiving friends on Friday July 17, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. also at Faith & Family.
Terry was born December 20, 1960 to Yulless Jeanes and Bennie Nell Runnells in Saratoga, TX. He moved from the Batson area to Onalaska where he lived for 12 years and was a Manager for Polk Co. Propane.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents, A brother, Dwight Jeanes and one sister, Kathy Nell Daniel.
He is survived by his wife, Susie Jeanes of Onalaska., sons, Michael Jeanes and wife Elizabeth of Orange and T.K. Jeanes and wife Sarah of Moss Hill., daughter, Betty Cheri Jeanes of Bryan, TX., brothers, Keith Jeanes and wife Nita of Saratoga, TX and Mark Jeanes and wife Suzette also of Saratoga., sister, Sharon Marshall and husband Nat of Conroe, TX., One grandchild Waylyn Michael Jeanes of Moss Hill, TX.
