Maddox
Carolyn Maddox, 69, of Liberty, died Sunday, April 5, 2015 in a local hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
Carolyn was born on April 14, 1945 in Port Arthur, Texas to Carl and Mertie Bracewell. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, fishing, reading and was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sisters, son David King and grandson Kyler King.
She is survived by her sons Wes King and wife Robbie and Tony King and wife Darla; sisters Louise and Dorothy; brothers Buddy and Carl; grandchildren Cari Trahan, Weston, Jessica, Devin King and four great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main St., in Anahuac, Texas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, with Pastor Danny Biddy officiating.
Serving as Pallbearers for Mrs. Maddox will be D.R. Peddy, Mike Wheat, Mike Bracewell, Leon Moulton, Chris Reioux and E.J. King.
Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery.

Richard Lowe 68, of Saratoga, Texas died on Friday April 3, 2015 at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas-Beaumont.
A service of remembrance will be held on Monday April, 6, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. at West End Baptist Church, 13189 Cotton Road Saratoga, Texas with Reverend Bill Fabriguze and Reverend Nathan Hendrix officiating. Interment will follow at Felps cemetery in Thicket, Texas. The family will be receiving friends also on Monday April 6, 2015 from 11:00A.M. until time of service at the church.
Richard was born March 24, 1947 in Buna, Texas to Lonnie Lee Lowe and Ida Lee Boyd. He had lived in Saratoga, Texas most of his life and worked in the oilfield as a Roughneck, and was a member of the Grayburg Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, George Lowe and Lonnie Lowe and one sister, Delores Jackson.
Survivors are his wife of forty-eight years Elaine Lowe of Saratoga, Texas, son, Walter Lowe and wife Dawn of Thicket, Texas. Daughter, Robin Johnson and husband Jeff of Water Town, Tennessee, brother, Lewis Wayne Lowe of Oak Grove, Louisiana. Sisters, Belinda Parsons of Saratoga, Texas, Sara Lee Boyd of Jasper, Texas. Grandchildren are Justin Johnson and wife Kelsi, Caleb Johnson, Lucas Lowe, and Janet Lowe, and one great- grandchild, McKenna Grace Lowe and Brantlee Shuster. Melvin Daniel Alford 62, of Liberty, Texas died on Tuesday March, 31, 2015 at his residence in Liberty.
A native of Dayton, Texas he had lived in Liberty, and was Warehouse Manager for D&D Systems of Liberty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas Alford and Juana Padon, his sisters, Lynn Ramos, Linda Alford, and brother, Robert Alford.
Survivors are his partner, Karen Peak of Liberty, son, Robert Daniel Alford of Liberty, daughter, Misty AL-Mahdawi and husband Mohammad of Houston. Brothers, L.C. Alford and wife Lynn of Liberty, and Sam Alford and wife Barbara of Hardin. Sisters, Gail Foxworth of Galveston, and Alma Villarreal of Dayton. Florence Beatrice Rives Kaufman, 92, of Liberty, Texas died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
She was born on January 12, 1923 to Wallace Oliver Rives and Ella Pet Cessna Rives in Hardin, Texas.
Florence (Flo) was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George Richard Kaufman, sons Murry Gene Kaufman and Allen Kent Kaufman (infant), grandson Curtis Brian Kaufman, brothers Allen Rives and Bennie Rives, and sisters Ruby Lee Price and Janell Hunt.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Kelly Reynolds and husband David, Justin Kaufman and fiancé Tiffany Davis, and Kyle Kaufman; great grandchildren Kassie Watson and husband Raymond, Hannah Thomas, Tyler Kaufman and Kayli Kaufman; brother James Rives and wife Bobbie; sister Annie Jo Davis; brother-in-law Dowell Hunt; sisters-in-law Letha Rives and Norma Rives; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends, including her very best friend Mildred Hadley whom she loved dearly.

Matheson
Permelia Ann Stanley Matheson, at the age of 75, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Houston Hospice following a brave battle against thyroid cancer.
A lifelong resident of Anahuac, Texas, born on September 19, 1939, to Octavia Elizabeth Fahring and Jack E. Stanley.
Permelia is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jon Matheson, her sons Jerry Matheson and Ed Matheson, grandchildren Brittany Matheson, Josh Matheson, Blake Matheson, and Summer Matheson, sisters Carolyn Plato, Georgia Clapper and husband, Rob, and brother Jack Stanley and wife Carol and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jon Mark Matheson, her grandparents, G. H. Fahring, M.D., grandmother, Permelia Octavia Fahring, mother, Octavia Fahring Stanley, father, Jack Edwin Stanley, Sr., and brother, George Lloyd Stanley.
She graduated from Anahuac High School and received her Masters of Science in Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics, and Superintendent’s Certificate from Lamar University.
Permelia taught Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics at Gilmer ISD, Anahuac ISD and Goose Creek ISD. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Anahuac, Texas and a dedicated church pianist most recently for Trinity Baptist Church in Arcata, California and Oak Island Baptist Church.
She was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ, a Rainbow Girl, Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Daughters of the American Revolution, Texas State Teacher’s Association, and a proud member of the conservative Republican Party.
Her joys included traveling with her children and grandchildren, gardening at her California summer home, and being with her family and friends. Music was her great talent for which she will be long remembered.
The family extends its appreciation and thanks to the doctors and staff of M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Houston Hospice for their care and support and to Carolyn Plato who was with her from the beginning of the battle against cancer that has now ended.
A visitation with the family will be on Friday, April 3, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main St., Anahuac, Texas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 4, 2015 in the Sanctuary of the First Baptist Church, 400 S Magnolia Ave., with Rev. Larry McCain officiating.
Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery.

Dunagan
Susan Kaye Dunagan age 59 died suddenly at Dunagan Ranch in Nome, Texas.
Susan was born in Laurel, Mississippi the daughter of Burkitte Lavonne “Pee Wee” Downs and Mae Joyce Smith Downs. Susan enjoyed anything outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and being at the beach. She also enjoyed golf, dancing, and being with her beloved friends and family. Susan was a caring, warm, and a generous individual who had a way of making everyone around her feel comfortable. A graduate of Liberty High School she went on to attend Sam Houston State.
She was preceded in death by her father as well as her husband Baxter Willis Dunagan Sr.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son B.W. Dunagan Jr., mother Mae Joyce Downs, sisters; Brenda Taylor and husband Garland, Patti Russell, and Peggy Downs. She also leaves her nephews; Zachary Taylor, Keith Russell, and Kevin Russell. In addition she leaves a host of other family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation for Susan will be held Thursday April 2, 2015 from 5-8 P.M. at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. A funeral service will be held 10AM Friday April 3, 2015 at First United Methodist Church of Liberty with burial to follow in Cooke Memorial cemetery.

Betty Louise Jacobs Nabors, 72, of Kenefick, died Monday, March 30, 2015, at a family residence in Huntsville.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Ryan cemetery in Tarkington Prairie. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Betty was born March 21, 1943 in Moultrie, Georgia, a former resident of Mobile, Alabama, and has resided in Kenefick for the past 35 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, as well as decorating.
Mrs. Nabors was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Judy and Shirley, and brother: Willie. She is survived by her husband of 57 years: William “Bill” Nabors of Kenefick, daughters: Lynn Satterwhite of Dayton and Teresa Dearman and husband William of Alabama, sons: John Nabors and wife Angela of Huntsville and Ken Nabors and wife Sonia of Huntsville, sister: Freda Morris and husband Berry of Alabama, 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Darlene Fay Otto Batchelor, 85, of Dayton, died Friday, March 27, 2015, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 2, 2015, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton. Darlene was born November 23, 1929 in Rosenberg, to parents; Anson James and Dora Elizabeth Coffelt Otto, and has been a lifelong resident of the Dayton area. She was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 1947, a homemaker, member of the Rural Shade Baptist Church, and former member of Kenefick Southern Baptist Church. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, oil painting, and puzzles.
Mrs. Batchelor was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Dale Batchelor, daughter: Glenda Abshier, two brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her daughters: Patsy White and husband Norman of Dayton and Linda Batchelor of Jasper, brother-in-law: Nick Carlisle of Jewett, grandchildren: Rachel Carr and husband James, Julie Slack, Bonnie Lorraine, Steve Rives, Norman White, Jr. and wife Cynthia, and Pamela McClure and husband Allen, great-grandchildren: Amanda, Kent, Jessica, Keagan, Ashlynn, Keaton, Presley, Leah, Devin, Brian, Hannah, David, and Sarah, great great-grandchildren: Blaine and Jackson, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Carmen Mobley Catlin 26, of Victoria, Texas, died on Wednesday March, 25, 2015, at Citizens Medical Center in Victoria, Texas.

Carmen was born February 15, 1989 in Silsbee, Texas, to Jessie Bailey Mobley Sr. and Helen Fregia Shaver. She had lived in Mobile, Alabama, since 2001 before moving to Victoria where she lived for three years and was an homemaker,

Tillman
Florence Tillman, 81, of Kingwood, Texas died March 27, 2015. She was surrounded by family when she died.
Florence spent most of her life in Dayton, Texas, where she was born September 1, 1933 to parents, Harold Steve Matelski and Pearl Martha Seigle. A graduate of Dayton High School, she went on to operate an ARCO bulk fuel plant in Liberty, Texas, and retired from Houston Vacuum in 2010.
Florence most recently resided at a senior living community in Kingwood. She had a profound love for flowers and animals of all kinds, but was most renown for her creative culinary skills where her Sunday dinners were often capable of feeding a small army.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday March 31, 2015 at Saint Anne’s Catholic cemetery in Eastgate. Father Richard Zawadzki will officiate. Visitation will be Monday March 30, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with the rosary at 7:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Pearl Matelski. She is survived by her daughters: Sharon Laine and husband John, and Laurie Smesny and husband Frank, as well as many relatives and friends.
Florence will be missed.
