Chester Ray Ewing 80, of Daisetta, Texas, died on Monday March, 23, 2015, at Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center.

A native of Saratoga, Texas, he had lived in Daisetta, Texas, for nine years and was a Welder and Shop Formen for Croft Construction in Kennefick, Texas. He was also a graduate of Saratoga High School.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Lee Ewing and Ruth Taylor. Sisters, Blanchie Dee Jackson, and Annie Lee Eastham. Brother, J.B. Flowers, stepdaughters, Regina, Deeya, and Debra, and one great-grandson, Cameron Carter.

Chester is survived by his wife Shirley Ewing of Daisetta, Texas, son, Ronald Ray Ewing of Huffman, Texas, and step-son, Dean Majors and wife Nina of Daisetta, Texas. Daughter, Linda Diane Arnst of Baytown, Texas. Step-daughters, Carla Moore and husband Robert of Daisetta, Texas, Colinda Carbaugh and husband Robert of Daisetta, Teas, Constance Sangco and husband David of Houston, Texas, and Christel Roach and husband Doug of Temple, Texas. Niece, Mary Ann Vanek and husband Frank of Tomball, Texas. Nephews, Earl Adrain Eastham of Kansas City, Kansas, Wilbert Lee Eastham of Tomball, Texas, and James Edmon Eastham of Sugar Land, Texas. Grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 31 and 1 great great grandchild.

Moore

Robert Douglas Moore 18, of Baytown, Texas, formerly of Liberty, Texas, died on Wednesday March, 25, 2015 in Raynes, Louisiana.

A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday March, 31, 2015 at 2:30 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services Chapel. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson, Texas. There will be a gathering of family and friends also on Tuesday from 11:00A.M. until time of service at Faith & Family.

A native of Cleveland, Texas, he had lived in Baytown, Texas, and had worked for ATW Detailed Solutions of Channelview, Texas.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Richard Moore and Vicki Hart of Daisetta, Texas, mother, Belinda Kay Nugent of Hardin, Texas, Stepfather, Virgil Johnson of Crosby, Texas. Sister, Ashley Nugent of Hardin, Texas, and girlfriend Cynthia Muirheadd of Crosby, Texas. Other stepmother is Teresa Moore and boyfriend, Nathaniel Edwards of Baytown, Texas. Cousins are Amanda Ott of Abilene, Texas, Randy Tanner and wife Mandi of Daisetta, Texas, Natasha Moore of Daisetta, Texas, Tela Ballinger of Daisetta, Texas, Tyler Powell and wife Arita of Crosby, Texas, Tabitha Hargraves of Hardin, Texas. Other cousins are Madison Johnson of Crosby, Texas, La'Naiya Edwards of Baytown, Texas, Nathaniel Edwards II of Baytown, Texas. Uncles are Douglas Allen Moore and wife Donna of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Robert Moore and wife Carla of Daisetta, Texas. Aunt, Judy King and husband Charles of Jersey Village. Additional cousins are Tori Hargraves of Hardin, Texas, Jacquelyn Hargraves of Hardin, Texas, McKaiden Tanner of Daisetta, Texas, Austyn Tanner of Daisetta, Texas and McKall Tanner also of Daisetta, Texas.

Robert loved muddin, hunting, fishing and being around friends. He was always fun to be around. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Karr

Mary Analene Gibson Karr, age 86, died peacefully at her home in Dayton, Texas, on Tuesday, March 24, 2015.

She was born on September 12, 1928 in DeRidder, Louisiana, to Annie Laurie Gripon and William Otis Gibson.

During high school she was an Observer with the Civil Air Patrol, watching for enemy planes and ships from atop the Anahuac courthouse. She received her pilot’s license at age 16, and loved to recount the story of flying a plane from Anahuac to High Island, and landing in the grassy fields there to spend the day with friends at the beach.

After graduating from Anahuac High School in 1945, she attended Sam Houston State Teacher’s College where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Her students in Devers, East Chambers, Anahuac and Houston were like her second family, and many returned to thank her for her encouragement; one graduate gave her his track award, saying he never would have finished school without her support. Her students were consistent winners at science and history fairs, and she accompanied one of them to the National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.

To her friends and family, Analene will always be remembered for her passion for sports. She worked for the Astros, Rockets, Texans, and the Houston Livestock Show for more than 20 years, she seldom missed a game or event, made many lifelong friends, and was a devoted fan. She was also an avid supporter of the Houston Police Department.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Anahuac and she also enjoyed her yearly camp meetings with the Jimmy Swaggart Ministries. One of her favorite memories was her trip to the Holy Land where she was baptized in the Jordan River.

She is preceded in death by her parents Annie Laurie Gripon and William Otis Gibson, two brothers Calvert Gibson and W.O. Gibson, Jr., and a grandson Tanner Karr.

Analene is survived by her two brothers Leroy Gibson, of Aurora, Colorado and Ronald Gibson, of Whitney, Texas as well as her three children Sheryl Shaw, of Anahuac, Texas, Terrie Karr, of Dayton, Texas, Kenneth Karr, of Delray Beach, Florida, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a multitude of friends who will miss her dearly.

A visitation with the family will be on Monday, March 30, 2015 from 11:00AM until 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main St., in Anahuac, where funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., with Bobby Scherer officiating.

Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery.

Pallbearers for Mr. Karr will be Justin Shaw, D.J. Malone, Rico Karr, Cruz Karr, Layne Moon and Zac Mercer.

Taylor

Shattie Racheal Taylor, age 96 of Raywood, died in Liberty, TX on March 26, 2015.

Shattie was born November 10, 1918 in Liberty, daughter of the late Silvia and Cora Fregia. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Daisetta for over twenty-five years. Shattie loved to horseback, raise her chickens, sew, quilt and work in her yard. She especially loved her church.

Shattie was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Tom Taylor, son; Tommy Alvin Taylor and his wife Dorothy Marie Taylor, grandchildren; Sherry Cobbs and Preston Taylor, great-grandchildren; Erica Taylor and Kamdyn Taylor, brothers; James Delbert Taylor, Dan Moody Fregia, Jay Fregia, Lawrence Fregia, Robert Fregia, sisters; Athalea Jordan and Zellia Padon. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, son; Granville Taylor and wife Sharron of Raywood, sisters; Nelda Mae Tousha of Liberty, Doris Kibbe of Pennsylvania, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Shattie Racheal Taylor will be Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 10am at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX with burial to follow at Oakdale cemetery. Brother Lee Gruver will be officiating. Visitation will be Monday, March 30, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home.

Huntley

Joe Huntley, 72, died Thursday, March 26, 2015.

He was born on December 9, 1942, in Rison, Arkansas but grew up in Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Edward and Vivian Lorice Huntley.

Joe graduated from Reagan High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1961-65. He spent most of his naval years on the USS Oriskany. He was stationed two years in Japan and two years in Hawaii. After the service he began a career in law enforcement as an officer in Baytown, Texas and was promoted to detective. Later, he transferred to Seabrook, Texas, where he became Chief of Police.

In 1976 Joe and Sandy moved the family to Dayton, Texas. Joe worked with his dad in the logging business and soon became interested in the oilfield construction business. After many years of hard work and dedication, Joe became Vice President of Tanner Construction in Dayton. He was well respected by employees and people in the oilfield industry.

After a lifetime of hard work, Joe retired in 2007. He and Sandy embarked on new adventures in the world of motorcycles and motor homes. They made amazing friends and memories traveling across America. He fulfilled a lifelong dream in 2013 by taking a family vacation to Alaska.

Joe Huntley was all about hard work, family, and American pride. He was a history buff, admired John Wayne and General Patton. He loved watching classic westerns and listening to Garth Brooks. He enjoyed family gatherings, watching sports, and spending time with his grandkids. He will be greatly missed.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sandra Huntley whom he married on March 1, 1966 at Garth Road Baptist Church, Baytown, Texas; son Kelley Joe Huntley and wife Stacy and their children, Jordan Kelley Huntley and Caleb Douglas Huntley; daughter Kristi Leigh Smith and husband Lenny and their son, Mason David Smith; sister Sarah Peltier and husband David; brothers Jerry Huntley and wife Diane, Jimmy Huntley and wife Rita, Bennie Huntley and wife Elizabeth and Richard Huntley and wife Connie.

A visitation with the family will be on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St., Dayton.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM, in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Piatt officiating.

Interment will follow in Palms Memorial Park.

King

Rosa Mae King age 91 died Wednesday March 25, 2015 at her home in Devers.

Rosa was born in Devers May 26, 1923 the daughter of the late Eugene Mayer Frisbie and Mae Francis Wallace Frisbie. Rosa enjoyed fishing with her late husband Gerald Frank King Sr. as well as her work. She worked for over thirty years as a tax collector and assessor for the Devers ISD. Rosa was also a member of the Devers United Methodist Church and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She was a graduate of Devers High School and attended Lamar University where she studied accounting.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Gerald King Jr. wife Linda, daughter F. Eugenia Catching husband Ronald, grandchildren; Talytha Webb husband Vernon, Patti King, Lori Bender husband Anthony, Sara Murray and husband Aaron. In addition she leaves her five great-grandchildren; Tyler Bender, Jackson Bender, Nora Webb, Brandon Webb, and Collin Webb. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held 2 P.M. Saturday March 28, 2015 in Anahuac cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Allison Funeral Service 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas.

Fingleman

Bernie Lloyd Fingleman age 79 died Wednesday March 25, 2015 at his home in Liberty.

He was born in Dayton, Texas May 14, 1935 the son of the late August Benjamin Fingleman and Ollie Lloyd Fingleman. Bernie last worked for seventeen years for the City of Liberty utilities department. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on his boat, as well as his yard. He attended Heights Baptist Church and served as a Deacon of his church for years. Bernie also served in the US Army from 1958-1960, where he was stationed in Germany and attained the rank of Private First Class.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brothers and sisters; Marcelle Fingleman, Merle Fingleman, J.B. Fingleman, Thelma Shanks, Florence Pringle, Etta Reed, Ruth Jansen, Doris Kaiser, Betty Majors, and Wilva Kozleck.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of almost sixty years, Helen Faye Cornelius Fingleman, his daughter Brenda Martin, sons Walter Fingleman, and Jody Blankenbaker, grandchildren, Emily Howle husband Tyler, Jenna Brown husband Nathan, Krista Colby husband Stephen, and Menda Fingleman. He also leaves six great grandchildren, a sister Frances Carlisle, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Bernie will be held 5-8 P.M. Friday March 27, 2015 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral services will be held 10AM Saturday March 28, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Gruver to officiate, burial to follow in Cooke Memorial cemetery. Bebee

Carol Sue " Nanee " Bebee 69, of Thicket, Texas, died on Saturday March, 21, 2015 at her residence in Thicket, Texas, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

A native of Houston, Texas, she had lived in Huffman, Texas, before moving to Thicket, Texas, where she lived for 18 years and was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn Arnold and Janey Lamp. Husband Paul Bebee, brothers, Jimmy Arnold, and Johnny Arnold, and soul mate, Dusty Rhodes Sr.

Survivors are daughters, Vallery Dishman and husband Dale of Thicket, Texas, Susan Manning and husband Tony of Flippin, Arkansas, and Stephanie Rhodes and husband Dusty Rhodes Jr. of Thicket, Texas. Grandchildren are Leslie Bailey of Jackson, Tennessee, Paula Bailey of Flippin, Arkansas, Keri Williams of Lufkin, Texas, Gabby Rhodes of Thicket, Texas, and Dusty " Trey" Rhodes III. of Thicket, Texas. Curtis Lee Cadoree, 69, of Ames, Texas died March 22, 2015, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.

Visitation: Friday, March 27, 2015, Wells Funeral Services, from 1:00 p. m. to 6:00 p.m.

Funeral Services: Saturday, March 28, 2015, Wells Funeral Services Chapel, 11:00 am.

Speer

Anna Lee Green Speer, 73, of Hardin, died Sunday, March 22, 2015, at the Liberty-Dayton Community Hospital in Liberty.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 26, 2015, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Hardin Chapel cemetery in Hardin. A gathering and meal for family and friends will be held at the Hardin United Methodist Fellowship Hall following graveside. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Anna Lee was born November 29, 1941 in Mt. Belvieu, to parents; Abbie Lee and Evylee Porter Green, a former resident of Dayton, and has resided in Hardin for the past 49 years. She was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 1960, a homemaker, member of the First Baptist Church, and former Dayton State Bank teller. She also enjoyed Sewing, cooking, shopping, and watching birds.

Mrs. Speer was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 49 years: Dale Speer of Hardin, son: Kirk R. Speer of Hardin, daughters: Debbie Beasley and husband Mike of Hardin and Becca Speer and husband Kenny Collins of Hull, brother: Cecil Green of Dayton, grandchildren: Anna Tristan, Dusty Beasley, Dale Eric Speer, and Curtis Speer, great-grandchildren: Emily, Erin, Landon, Jordan, and Clarissa, and numerous other relatives and friends.
