Robert E. Lee

Services for Robert E. Lee, 90, of Buffalo, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Buffalo Funeral Home with Thomas Middlebrook officiating. Burial will follow in Lummus Cemetery under the direction of Buffalo Funeral Home.

Mr. Lee died Monday in Palestine.
He was born Dec. 24, 1910, in Deposit, N.Y..

Mr. Lee lived in the Flo community for 25 years and lived in Buffalo for the last three years. He worked as a dredge equipment operator, building rivers and canals all over the United States. He was a charter member of the AARP.

He is survived by wife, Gertrude Lee of Buffalo; stepson, Paul Jacobs of Houston; stepdaughter, Mildred Rayborn of Buffalo; nine stepgrandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren and stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

Murry Stovall

Services for Murry Stovall, 84, of Elkhart, were at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Bailey & Foster Chapel with Mark Lombard officiating. Burial followed in Garden of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.

Mr. Stovall died Saturday night at Spring Seasons of Elkhart.

He was born Dec. 5, 1916, in Anderson County to William and Docia Stovall.

Mr. Stovall was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was a broommaker.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia Stovall of Elkhart; daughter, Sharon Montgomery of Cleburne; son, Bobby Stovall of Elkhart; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bryon Davis, Buel Grigsby, Johnny Brown, Johnny Lipscomb III, James Vick and Mark Ives.

Honorary pallbearers were John Davis and J.D. Malone.

Inez Pegoda Jenkins

Services for Inez Pegoda Jenkins, 93, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Garden of Memories Cemetery with the Rev. Floyd Peterson officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Jenkins died today at Cartmell Home for the Aged.
She was born Nov. 8, 1908 in Huntsville to Frank and Lula Burnett Pegoda.
Mrs. Jenkins was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Elkhart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Jenkins Sr., in 1994; and a son, Wayne Jenkins.
Mrs. Jenkins is survived by a son, Earl Elton Jenkins of Elkhart; sisters, Birdette Alexander of Huntsville, Charlene Gorman of Arlington and Erie Cotton of Corpus Christi; a brother, Joe W. Pegoda of Houston; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Harold Denson, Wayne Curry, David Jenkins, Cody Jenkins, Jerry Pegoda and Ray Pegoda.
Condolence calls will be received by the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Sammie “Jack” Graham

Services for Sammie “Jack” Graham, 69, of Longview, and formerly of Canton, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Tennessee Colony Union Church with the Rev. Lyle Huntress officiating. Burial will follow in Tennessee Colony Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Graham died Tuesday at his home.
He was born April 19, 1933 in Tennessee Colony to R.C. Graham and Bernice McKenzie Graham.
Mr. Graham worked as an installer-repairman for GTE Telephone Company. He served the U.S. Army.
Mr. Graham was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ethel Perry Graham, in 1981.
He is survived by sons, James Bradley Graham of Plano and Perry Ray Graham of Rockwall; brothers, Stanley Graham of Tennessee Colony and Fred Graham of Henderson; and five grandchildren.

Clarence C. Bailey

Services for Clarence C. Bailey, 86, of Toxaway, N.C., and formerly of Palestine, were at 2 p.m. today at All Saints Episcopal Church in Winter Park, N.C. Burial was at 3 p.m. in Palm Cemetery under the direction of Carey Hand Cox-Parker Funeral Home in Winter Park, N.C.
Mr. Bailey died Sunday.
He was a medical doctor and a World War II veteran.
Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Jewel D. Bailey of Toxaway, N.C.; sons, Lloyd Francis Bailey II of Lakewales, Fla., Joel Griffith Bailey of Alpharetta, Ga., and Robert C. Bailey of Augusta, Ga.; daughters, Jewell D. Williams of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Donie Lessie Harrison

Services for Donie Lessie Harrison, 89, of Bethesda, Md., and formerly of Dallas, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Harrison died Tuesday in Maryland.
She is survived locally by granddaughter, Cynthia McCollough of Palestine.

James A. Shaw

Services for James A. Shaw, 81, of Huntsville, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Huntsville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Grand View Memorial Park.
Mr. Shaw died Thursday in Huntsville.
He was a veteran of World War II and served throughout Europe. He earned a Bronze Star, Silver Star and Purple Heart for his service.
Mr. Shaw was a member of Hawthorn Baptist Church in New Waverly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwen Shaw; a daughter, Joyce Townsend; a sister, Nellie Gray; and a grandson, Jimmy Shaw III.
Mr. Shaw is survived by a daughter, Linda Maywald, of Onalaska; son, Jim Shaw of Big Sandy; sisters, Mae Thigpen and Nell Fowler, both of Alabama; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Fund.

Rayburn F. “Jack” Hollingsworth

Services for Rayburn F. “Jack” Hollingsworth, 80, of Frankston, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the First Assembly of God of Frankston with the Rev. J.A. Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Frankston City Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.
Mr. Hollingsworth died Friday at a Jacksonville hospital.
He was born Dec. 1, 1921 in Frankston.
Mr. Hollingsworth retired as maintenance foreman for TxDOT after 25 years of service. He was a member of First Assembly of God in Frankston. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Frank Hollingsworth.
Mr. Hollingsworth is survived by his wife, Thelma Hollingsworth of Frankston; son, Rayburn Reed Hollingsworth of Palestine; sisters, Ruth Nolen and Wanda Beth Henderson, both of Frankston; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Cecil Hobbs

Services for Cecil Hobbs, 71, of Livingston, were held Sunday at the family residence with the Rev. Layne McAdams officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home in Palestine.
Mr. Hobbs died Thursday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 6, 1931, in Houston to Charley and Lillie Mae Hobbs.
Mr. Hobbs was retired from the  Texas Highway Department in Houston. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Coast Guard.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
Mr. Hobbs is survived by his wife, Wilma L. Hobbs of Livingston; children, Tracy Hobbs of Houston and Kelly Hobbs of Louisville, Ky.; stepchildren, Donnie Dillard, Larry Dillard and Kaye McAdams; one granddaughter; 11 step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Jeremy Wade Moore Sr.

Funeral Arrangements for Jeremy Wade Moore Sr., 22, of Palestine, are pending at Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
Mr. Moore died Monday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.

Byron McFarlane

Funeral arrangements for Byron McFarlane, 78, of Grapeland, are pending at Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
Mr. McFarlane died Monday night.

Edward Stanley

Services for Edward Lee Stanley, 62, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Land of Memory Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Smith officiating. All arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Stanley died Sunday at the V.A. Center in Temple.

He was born March 6, 1939, in Groveton to Ben and Elsie Webb Stanley.

Mr. Stanley attended Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown and was employed as a carpenter. He was baptized at Calvary Christian Center in Oakwood. He served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his mother and son, Michael Stanley.

Mr. Stanley is survived by his father of Mount Belvieu; wife, Pat Stanley of Palestine; sister, Margie King of Baytown; brothers, Bobby Gene Stanley of Highland, Jimmy Ray Stanley of Center and Jerry Dean Stanley of Mount Belvieu; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Billy Conklin, Donny Conklin, James Conklin, Scott Holmes, Jason Russell, Steve St. Clair and Joe Wiltrout.

Honorary pallbearers will be Harlan “Penny” Conklin and Richard Conklin.

Marcus E. Tyer

Services for Marcus E. Tyer, 79, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Cemetery in Percilla with the chaplain of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3907 officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Tyer died Sunday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 16, 1921, in Percilla, to Bryan and Essie Mae Thornton Tyer.
Mr. Tyer was a mechanic and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the VFW.

Mr. Tyer is survived by niece, Rhonda Higginbotham of Arlington; and nephews, Jim Waits of Caddo Mills and Kirt Thomas of Palestine.

Condolence calls will be received from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
