Alpers

Ruby Lee "Red" Alpers 83, of Cleveland, formerly of Saratoga, died on Wednesday December 3, 2014 at her residence in Cleveland.

A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday December 9, 2014 at 10:00A.M. at New Life Assembly of God Church in Batson with Reverend Nathan Hendricks officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson. The family will be receiving friends on Monday December 8, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. also at New life Assembly of God Church.

Ruby was born August 17, 1931 in Polk County, (Town of Ace.) Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years John Lamar Alpers, son; Roy Dale Alpers and brothers; J.B. Jordan and Edward Chambliss.

Ruby is survived by four sons; Fred Alpers and wife Barbara of Rye, James Alpers and wife Sharon of Missouri, Brunce Alpers and wife Robin of Batson, Roy Alpers and wife Judy of Rye and John Alpers and wife Brenda of Livingston. Daughters are Judith Rucker of Cleveland, and Freda Morris and husband Roland of Deer Park. Ruby also has four sisters Ophelia King of Lumberton, Mildred Norris of Beaumont, Patricia Fredrickson of Saratoga, and Mary Lou Campbell of Ballington, TX. She had twenty-two grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers are Joshua Alpers, Joel Alpers, Jacob Alpers, Danny Flowers, Eric Flowers, Charles Alpers, John Alpers and Elvis Fregia. "A beautiful and wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her."

Williamson

Bertha Mae Williamson, 93 of Dayton died Friday December 5, 2014, at Liberty Healthcare Center in Liberty, Texas.

Visitation for Mrs. Williamson will be Monday December 8, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Service for Mrs. Williamson will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday December 9, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Dayton with Reverend Mike Blackburn and Reverend Mike Chadwick officiating.

Mrs. Williamson was a born February 28, 1921 in Polk County Texas, to her parents, Charles and Floy Daughtry Taylor. Bertha graduated with Goodrich High School Class of 1939. She later married W. B. Williamson and together, they founded W. B. Williamson Propane in Dayton. Mrs. Williamson was a former member of Trinity Baptist Church and current member of First Baptist Church in Dayton. She was an active member in the Order of the Eastern Star for many years. Mrs. Williamson enjoyed traveling, she and her husband logged many miles together. Bertha also loved to read and looked forward to her daily newspaper. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Bertha loved to play games. She especially enjoyed Dominoes, Scrabble and Bingo. Mrs. Williamson will be thoroughly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Bertha is survived by her sons: Charles “Chuck” Williamson and wife Betty, W. Keith Williamson and wife Linda, Bruce Williamson and wife Karen, Tim Williamson and wife Jeanie; Grandchildren: Wes Williamson, Daniel Williamson, Becky Till and husband Richard, Mandy Wood and husband Chris, Stacey Cole and husband Reagan, Jake Williamson and wife Stephanie, Morgan Williamson, Cole Williamson, Jade Currie Williamson and Justin W. Williamson; Great-grandchildren: Catherine, Sara and Wesley Till, Brayden and Carson Wood and Bruce Cole, Numerous nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends.

Watts

Maxine Green Watts, 76, of Anahuac, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in Anahuac.

She was born in Rotan, Texas on March 18, 1938 to James and Agnes Green.

She was preceded in death by her parents James Barnett and Agnes Green, sister Frances Blanton, brother Ferrell Leon Green and infant son Billy Bowen Watts.

Maxine leaves behind her husband of 56 years, James Bowen Watts, of Anahuac, Texas; sons Melvin Watts and wife Stefanie, of Dayton, Texas and Kelly Watts, of Beaumont, Texas; her beloved grandchildren Kris Watts, of Anahuac, Texas, Josh Watts and wife Lauri, of Cove Texas, Jesse Watts, of Wallisville, Texas and Ashley DeLoach, of Dayton, Texas; special great grandchildren Aaron, Hailey, Zachary, Addison Trace and Hayden; brother Melvin Green, of Victoria, Texas and a host of relatives and friends.

She was an Owner and Operator of Mel’s Chevron in Liberty, Texas and a homemaker. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation with the family will be on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. where funeral services will begin at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main St., Anahuac, Texas, with Bob Scherer.

Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Melvin Watts, Kris Watts, Jesse Watts, Josh Watts, Aaron Watts and Jarod Bettis.

Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main St., Anahuac, Texas 77514

Sangster

Rayburn Leroy Sangster, 89, of Cleveland, died Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at the Kingwood Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Coldspring with burial following at the Houston National cemetery in Houston. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Coldspring.

Rayburn was born November 25, 1925 in Telephone, to parents; Hugh W. and Dolly M. Gaines Sangster, a former resident of Ft. Worth, and has resided in Cleveland for the past 38 years. He was a veteran of the US Navy during WW II with the Seabees, a retired carpenter, member of the American Legion Post #629, and a former background musician for Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, and Willie Nelson. He also enjoyed gardening, playing music, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Sangster was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Cheryl Ann Sangster, grandchild: Branden Ray Sangster, brothers: Weston, Lavoy, and Wayne Sangster, and sister: Valerie Stailey. He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Helen Cullum Sangster of Cleveland, son: Gary Ray Sangster of Beaumont, daughters: Alana Faye Taylor and husband Jimmy of Oklahoma, Elisha May Huff and husband Kenneth of Pasadena, Linda Joyce McIntosh and husband Donald of Conroe, and Jerri LaNelle Parsutt of Evergreen, brother: Glen Ray Sangster of Bonham, sister: Wanda Alene Smith of Oklahoma, 16 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, niece, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Law

James Franssen Law, 37, died Thursday, November 20, 2014 in Thompsons, Texas.

He was born on April 23, 1977 in Fort Worth, Texas. James graduated in 1995 from B.F. Terry High School in Rosenberg, Texas. He already knew that his calling was to be in the military - just like his father. In 1997, he proudly joined the United States Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Franssen Law.

He is survived by his father, James D. Law; sons: Alex Law and James R. Law; sister: Courtney Frayard and husband David; nephew: Coltin Frayard; fiancée: Jennifer Vacek and fiancée's daughter: Callista Vacek and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A visitation with the family will on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 9:30AM until 10:30AM, where services will begin at 10:30AM in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St. in Dayton, Texas.

Interment will follow at Magnolia Park cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St., Dayton, Texas 77535.

Jordan

Harold Clark "BoBo" Jordan 85 of Batson, TX, died on Monday December 1, 2014 at Christus Dubuis Hospital of Beaumont.

A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday December 4, 2014 at 10:00A.M. at Calvary Tabernacle of Batson, with Reverend Billy Wayne Walston officiating. Interment will follow at Jordan cemetery in Batson. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday December 3, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. also at Calvary Tabernacle in Batson.

Harold was a lifelong residence of Batson, and was a self employed farmer where the community enjoyed the fruits of his labor.. He loved farming and always had a garden that would produce plenty. He also loved to trap and was an avid Bible reader.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Weldon Bradley Jordan, and Douglas Wayne Jordan, sister, Laura Nell Blanchard.

Survivors are sons; Morris Glenn Jordan, William "Bill" Jordan and Olen Bradley Jordan and wife Debbie all of Batson. Daughters; Carol McClain of Deer Park, Gaynelle Storey of Bellville, TX, Jan Rangel of LaGrange, TX, Patricia Costner of Willis, TX, and Cheryl Shann of Alvin, TX, and sister, Billie Jean Patton of Batson, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Ross Jordan, Johnny Jordan, Bennie Carouthers Jr, Ricky Patton, Ronald Patton, Ricky Storey, Cole Storey and Bob Guedry. Honorary pallbearer is Jerry Guedry.

Service of remembrance under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Services Inc. 40847 Hwy 105E. Batson, Texas 77519.

Herring

Concetta Lee Buono Herring, 86, of Dayton, died Sunday, November 30, 2014, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

Graveside services are pending for a later date at Linney cemetery in Dayton. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Concetta was born August 19, 1928 in San Diego, California, to parents; Nick Buono and Nola Hittle Buono, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Dayton for the past 68 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Herring was preceded in death by her father: Nick Buono, mother: Nola Hittle Tripp, husband: Henry H. “Pat” Herring, son: Milton W. “Billy” Herring, grandson: Michael Herring, son-in-law: Raymond Fregia, and sister: Beverly. She is survived by her daughters: Lolly Fregia of Dayton, Patricia Williams and husband Dennis of Dayton, Mary Dudley and husband Jim of Henderson, Nola McCulloch of Australia, and Laura Parker and husband Johnny of Baytown, sons: Gary Herring of Frankston and Nickie Herring and wife Pam of Houston, brother: Benny Bain of Missouri, and 25 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 19 great great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Lewis

Zenoba Shari Lewis 35, of Hankamer, TX died Nov. 26, 2014.

Zenoba was born May 5, 1979 to Daniel James Lewis (Hankamer, TX) and Holly Amanda Lewis (Ames, TX). She attended Hull-Daisetta school district. She was an active member of the Sunlight Baptist Church in Hankamer, Texas. She worked in the fast food industry and caring for the elderly in the Hankamer Community.

She was preceded in death by Willie Lewis (Grandfather) and George and Lena Childress (Maternal Grandparents).

She leaves to mourn Quedlus Speights (Boyfriend), Effie Lewis (Grandmother), Danny Wayne Booth, Wayne Lewis, Ricky Whittington, and Michael Childress (Brothers), Clarissa Brooks (Sister), Davondrick Lewis and Cameron Collins (Sons), Shedeya and Kionna Collins (Daughters), a host of Uncles, Aunts, nephews and nieces, other relatives, special friends and friends.

Funeral will be Dec, 06, 2014 at St Mary Missionary Baptist Church 213 Albrittion Gully Rd., Hankamer, TX. Visitation from 9AM until funeral at 11AM. Interment will be in Johnson cemetery, Liberty, TX.

Dollie Spikes 87, of Anahuac died Nov. 21, 2014.

Services will be Dec. 06, 2014 at Bright Light Missionary Baptist Church, Anahuac. Visitation will begin at 11AM until funeral at 12 Noon. Families and friends will cherish her memories.

Banning

Justin Calvin Banning, 29, of Dayton, was a loving father, husband, brother and son, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in Raywood, Texas.

He was born December 18, 1984 in Galveston, Texas.

He is survived by his wife: Carrie Banning; daughter: Harley Banning; mother: Georgia Banning Simon; brothers: George Banning, Tracy Banning, Jeremy Welch, James Banning, and Jarrod Banning.

He is preceded in death by his father George Banning III, grandmother Shirley Goulette Ross, niece Aryan Welch, and best friend Lucas Herndon.

A memorial service will be on December 5, 2014 at 2:00pm in the Chapel Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St., in Dayton, Texas.
