Van Deventer

Shelley J. Van Deventer, 61, of Anahuac, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014. She was born August 8, 1953 in Dayton, Texas to John and Jimmie Swensen.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Anahuac, Anahuac Athletics Booster Club and Department of Public Safety Officers Association. She graduated from Hull-Daisetta High School.

Shelley enjoyed Garner State Park, fishing, hunting, camping, jet skiing, the beach, her dogs and spending time with her family and most of her two grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Jimmie Swensen.

Shelley is survived by her husband of 33 years, Randy Van Deventer; sons Cody Van Deventer and wife Lauren and Cade Van Deventer and wife Terrin; grandsons Rhett Van Deventer and Lane Van Deventer; sister Janie Swensen Mayfield and husband Alan; brother Roger Swensen and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

A visitation with the family will be on Thursday, November 13, 2014, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main St., in Anahuac.

Funeral services will be on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the Sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Anahuac, 405 Magnolia Ave., with Pastor Kyle Roberts and Pastor Gary Hillyard officiating.

Green

Deloris Ashby Green, 76, of Dayton, died Monday, November 10, 2014 ather residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born February 27, 1938 in Topeka, Kansas to Carl and Virginia Ashby.

Deloris met her husband Daniel Green at a McGinty’s Drug Store in Dayton when she was working as a “soda jerk” serving sodas and floats to customers around 1953. She retired after 20 plus years of service for Goose Creek Independence School District as a school bus driver. She loved cooking big meals, baking and cake decorating for friends and family. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend.

Deloris was preceded in death by her father Carl Ashby, step father Joe Palermo, mother Virginia Ashby Palermo, her husband Daniel F. Green, her brothers Glen Dickson Ashby, Eddie Ashby, and Larry Ashby and daughter Deborah Green Arthur.

Deloris is survived by her daughters Cyndi Green Carroll and husband Cecil, Carla Green Hunt and husband Wesley; son in law Eddie Arthur; and son Glenn Dixon Green and wife Cheryl. Along with grandchildren: Donna and Kenny Johnson, Leean West, Seth Green, Charlie and Michelle Neal, Christopher Lowe, Amanda and Jonathan Johnston, Glenn Green Jr., Samantha, Daniel Trenary and numerous great grandchildren as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, from 9:00AM until 11:00AM in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St., Dayton, where funeral services will follow at 11:00AM in the Chapel with our dear family friend and Pastor Rev. Wayne Hardin officiating of Grace Community Baptist Church.

Interment will follow in Palms Memorial Park.

Osborne

Jaci Gail Osborne, 14, of Dayton, died Sunday, November 9, 2014, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Magnolia Park cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Jaci was born October 25, 2000 in Humble, to parents; Joshua Osborne and Amber Byford, and has been a lifelong resident of Dayton. She was a seventh grade student at Woodrow Wilson Junior High School. She also enjoyed being read to, the outdoors, and watching The Wiggles.

Miss Osborne was preceded in death by great-grandparents: Jennie Pecorino, Gail and Nathan Addison, Bill and Opal Osborne, and grandfather: Ivan Byford. She is survived by her mother: Amber Byford and companion Thomas Fields of Dayton, father: Joshua Osborne of Dayton, grandparents: Elizabeth Byford of Dayton, David and Dinah Mitchell of Dayton, and Roger and Mary Osborne of Colmesneil, aunt: Amanda Byford of Houston, uncles: Ryan Osborne of Lumberton, Jonathan Osborne of Lumberton, Addison Mitchell of Houston, and Davis Mitchell of Houston, great great-grandmother: O. J. Addison of Groves, and numerous cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Welch

Irene Clark Welch, 82, of Dayton, died Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at the Conroe Regional Medical Center in Conroe.

Memorial services are scheduled for a later date in Georgia. Local arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Irene was born April 15, 1932 in Orlando, Kentucky, to parents; Berry and Bessie Sharp Clark, a former resident of Georgia, and has resided in Dayton for the past 37 years. She was a retired restaurant manager, former employee of Brookshire Brothers and Lewie’s, and a member of Eastgate Church as well as the Dayton Noon Lions Club. She also enjoyed music, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Welch was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Austin Clark and Ray Clark. She is survived by her husband of 37 years: Reval G. Welch of Dayton, children: Robert L. “Bob” Cox and wife Donna M. of Colorado, Carlos “Duke” Cox, Jr. and wife Peggy of Colorado, Debbie Sherod and husband Dennis May of Georgia, Steve Cox and wife Michelle of Georgia, Reval G. Welch, Jr. of Georgia, Pamela Sue Gauntt and husband Timothy of Georgia, and Robert Welch of Georgia, brother: William Clark of Ohio, sister: Glenna Rogers of Ohio, 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Tanner

Louetta Tanner, age 89 of Liberty, died November 6, 2014 in Beaumont, TX.

Louetta was born January 6, 1925 in Liberty, TX, daughter of the late Alfred Nugent Jr and Florence Dagle Nugent. She was a housewife all of her life. Louetta loved her dogs and cats and enjoyed cooking for everybody, especially her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all.

Louetta was preceded in death by her parents, daughter; Lura Hanks, son; Stewart Tanner, sisters; Lucille Fregia, Hattie Chapman, Mattie Fregia and brother; Alfred Nugent II. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of twenty-eight years; David Tanner of Liberty, sons; James Leroy Williams of Liberty, Bruce Tanner and wife Cindy of The Woodlands, TX, daughters; Martie Enve and husband Donald of League City, TX, Loretta Clymer of Liberty, brothers; Wilbur Nugent and James Nugent, grandchildren; Chad Hanks, Jamie Williams, Codi McGowan, Josh Parson, Andy Tanner, Cassi Albro, Ciara Tanner, Emily Tanner, Brittany Stavinoha, Donny Neve, Jamie Neve, David Neve, Thomas Moseley, Chandler Villyard and Patrick Chapman and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Services for Louetta Tanner will be Monday, November 10, 2014 at 2pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX with burial to follow at Williams cemetery in Liberty. Visitation will be Sunday, November 9, 2014 from 5pm to 8pm at Allison Funeral Service Chapel.

Hunter

Ezoline Frances Hunter, 70, of Dayton died Wednesday, November 5, 2014 in Beaumont, Texas.

She was born October 4, 1944 in Golden Meadow, Louisiana to parents Mayfield and Georgina Verdin. Mrs. Hunter had lived in Dayton for only one month after moving from Alabama. Mrs. Hunter was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church. Francis earned her high school diploma from Lafourche High School. She loved baking, cooking, sewing and tending her flower beds and plants. Francis had lived in Dayton for only one month after moving from Alabama.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 10, 2014 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Dayton. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park cemetery.

Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by: Her parents, Mayfield and Georgina Verdin; Sister, Ezola Verdin; Brothers. Frankie, Leo and Harris Verdin; Niece, Bella Guidry; Nephew, Ebdon “T-Don” Verdin; Son-In-Law, Kenneth Adams: Grandparents, Octave Verdin, Genevieve Billiot, Ernest Verdin and Justilia Verdin

She is survived by: Her husband: Huey Hunter; Daughters: Kelly Tamiggi and husband Patrick and Betty Adams; Sons: Huey J. Hunter and wife Ange, Gary Hunter and wife Poopsie, and Joey Hunter; Sisters: Bridget Naquin; Brothers: Ebdon Verdin and Willis Verdin; Grandchildren: Trey Tamiggi, Cobie Smith, Blaise Tamiggi, Alexandria Hunter, Olivia Hunter, Elliot Hunter, Jasmine Sultan, and Nazareth Hunter; Great-Grandchildren: Skyler Renee Smith, Elijah Frazier and Logan Terrebone; Nieces and Nephews: Karen Adams, Tammy Theriot, Layman Verdin, Kirk Verdin, Carter Verdin, Lacie Verdin, Charlene Verdin, Donald Guidry and John Guidry; Other relatives and friends.

Kelley

Deborah Janette Kelley, 61 of Sour Lake died Sunday November 2, 2014 at her home.

She lived most of her life in Sour Lake. She attended Calvary Baptist Church of Beaumont.

She is preceded in death by her son, William Kurt Schroeder and brother, Roland Wayne Buckley.

She is survived by her son, Darryl Kyle Schroeder of Nome; parents, Darryl and Flora "Flo" Massey of Sour Lake; brother, Ronnie Lynn Buckley of Beaumont; grandchildren, Karlea Lynn Schroeder, Madison Gail Schroeder and William Kurt Schroeder, Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday November 8, 2014 at China cemetery in China, TX, officiated by Reverend Woody Sonier.

Terrell

Marvin Terrell, 62, of Liberty, Texas died Tuesday, November 04, 2014 at a hospital in Houston, Texas.

Visitation is Friday, November 07, 2014 at Wells Funeral Services Chapel at 300 Alabama Street in Liberty, Texas from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Funeral Service is Saturday, November 08, 2014, at Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church in Liberty, Texas with Rev. L.C. Speights officiating.

Interment will be in Wells Memorial cemetery, Liberty, Texas.

Arthur

Deborah "Debbie" May Arthur, 58, of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born August 13, 1956 to Daniel and Deloris Green.

Debbie was a member of Grace Community Baptist Church and was currently employed with Sterling Funeral Home since 2007. Debbie was a very well loved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Debbie and her husband moved into her father and mothers home in 2006 to help her father who was terminally ill. After her fathers’ death she has lived with and was taken care of her mother. Debbie never hesitated to help anyone in need. She loved spending time with all her family and friends especially her grandchildren. Debbie is very much loved by all who met her.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father Daniel F. Green, grandparents Jeff and Polly Green and Joe and Virginia Polermo.

Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, William E. (Eddie) Arthur; sons, Charles W Neal and his wife Michelle, Steve Arthur, Scott Arthur and his wife Yuki; daughters, Donna Neal Johnson and her husband Kenneth, and Chrisy Arthur Harriman and her husband Mark; mother, Deloris Green, sisters, Cyndi Green Carroll and her husband Cecil, Carla Green Hunt and her husband Wesley; brother, Glenn Dixon Green and wife Cheryl; sister-in-law, Virginia Arthur Truitt and husband Ronnie; brother-in-law, Wallace Arthur and wife Martha, grandchildren: Brittany Arthur, Briannah Farmer, Raven Farmer, Mike Arthur, Haley Harriman, Breeze Harriman and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family whom she loved very much.

Visitation with the family will be on Friday, November 7, 2014, from 9:00AM until 11:00AM in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St., Dayton, where funeral services will be held at 11:00AM with our dear family friend and Pastor Rev. Wayne Hardin of Grace Community Baptist Church.

Graveside services and interment will be on Friday, at 3:00 P.M. in Palms Memorial Park in Dayton, Texas. Pallbearers will be brother-in-law Ronnie Truitt, great nephews Blake Green, Caeden Hunt, Justin West and very close family friends Kade Bailey, Jerry Yarborough and Les Abner.

Nelson

Patricia Jane Hooks Nelson 79, of Dolen, Texas died November 1, 2014 at her residence. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Texas Silver Haired Legislature, Cleveland Women’s Center, Dolen Baptist Church, Houston Association of Retired Teachers, as well as numerous other clubs and organizations.

She is survived by her son David Kirkham and step children Darcy Nelson Shackelford and Lance Edward Nelson; Grandchildren Angela Kirkham Sheets, J.W. Kirkham, Hayley Kirkham, Jon Nelson Shackelford, Cara Margaret Shackelford, Jeff Shackelford, and Barrett Eugene Shackelford; Great Grandchildren Austin Sheets, Alyssa Sheets, Wyatt Sheets and Layten Sheets.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 13, at 2 pm at Pace Stancil Funeral Home of Cleveland, Texas, 281-592-2641.

Trahan

Joseph Raymond Trahan, 81, died October 29, 2014. He was born September 30, 1933 to Gilbert Trahan Sr. and Lorena Arceneaux Trahan.

He was a 1955 graduate of Woodson High School and an Army veteran. A 21 year Brown & Root employee and a long time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Visitation is Thursday, November 06, 2014 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Wells Funeral Service Chapel at 300 Alabama Street in Liberty, Texas.

The Funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3730 FM 160 North Raywood, TX on Friday November 7, 2014. Visitation will begin at 9am with the Rosary starting at 10am. The celebration of his life will start at 10:45am, the funeral mass at 11am. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart cemetery in Raywood, Texas

Wells Funeral Service at 300 Alabama Street, Liberty, Texas has been entrusted with final arrangements.

Gerardo

Michael Anthony Gerardo, infant son of Jesus and Zoila Castro Gerardo, died November 1, 2014 in Kingwood, TX.

Michael was born, October 29, 2014 in Kingwood, TX and angels came and took him to be with the Lord.

Michael is survived by his parents; Jesus and Zoila Castro Gerardo of Liberty, sisters; Dulce Gerardo of Dayton, Cynthia Gerardo and Clarissa Gerardo, brothers; Edwardo and Oscar Gerardo, paternal grandparents; Jose and Amelia Gerardo, maternal grandparents; Gaudencia Aguilar and Refugio Castro.

Services for Michael Anthony Gerardo will be Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 1:30pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic cemetery in Liberty, TX. Services have been entrusted to Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX.
