Mary Elder Wickliff, 70, of Liberty, Texas died Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in Kingwood, Texas.

Visitation is Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Wells Funeral Service Chapel, at 300 Alabama in Liberty, Texas from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 11:00 am at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church. She will lie in state from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, and Rosary will begin at 10:00 am. Father George Okeahialam will be officiating.

Interment will be in Wells Memorial cemetery in Liberty, Texas

Wells Funeral Services at 300 Alabama, Liberty, Texas has been entrusted with final arrangements.

Taff

Mary Jane Allison Taff died, Norris, on a beautiful Father’s Day, June 15, 2014. Mary Jane was born April 16, 1930 in Houston to the late Norman and Jewel Allison.

Mary Jane grew up in Liberty, Texas, graduating from Liberty High School in 1948. While attending nursing school in Houston, she met Norris Taff, the love of her life. They were married in August of 1950. Mary Jane, Norris and their children moved to Cleveland in 1961 and opened a dental practice on Bonham Street. She loved her community and her church. She served on the Cleveland ISD Board of Trustees, worked in lots of concession stands, and went to lots of games and marching contests. She was very active at St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she sang in the choir for many years.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, her parents, and her brothers, Billy and Reuben Allison. She is survived by her five children: Brenda Gardner and husband Jim; Janie Prather and husband Don; Norris Taff and wife Julie; Michael Taff and wife Kelly; and Allison Taff. Other survivors include ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; Jimmy Gardner, Jason Gardner, Alan Prather, Michael Prather, Will Taff, Amber Taff, Carson Taff, Kaylee Taff, Madison Taff, and Jackson Taff. Great-great grandchildren are Callie Gardner, Logan Klause, Emma Gardner, and Addison Gardner; many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Also, Jeannette Chapnick and Cynthia Allen were her loyal and loving caregivers for the past several years.

Visitation will be 5:00-9:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, with Rosary beginning at 7:00 p. m. Father Paul will preside over Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Cleveland. Father Paul will be presiding. Interment will follow at Cleveland Memorial cemetery.

Pete-Harvey

Sharon Louise Pete-Harvey “Tweetie”, 48 of Anahuac died June 08, 2014.

Services will be June 20, 2014 at Lily of The Valley Church of God in Christ 1222 N. Main St. Anahuac, TX., Rev. Lloyd Walters, Pastor. Visitation will begin at 10AM until Funeral beginning at 12Noon. Interment will be in Bayshore cemetery, Anahuac.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father: Leonard Gloston Sr., grandmothers: Alice Randle and Idella Gloston and brother: Sylvester Pete.

Cherishing her memories are: spouse: Kenneth Harvey, mother: Regina Pete, children: Pylar Pete (Edward) and European Hearon. Siblings: Annette Washington (Speedo), Mark Pete (Rhonda), Charlotte Simon, Marlon Pete (Keisha) and Tara Pete (Keith). Grandson: Tre’Sean Mayfield and a host of Nieces, Nephews other relatives and friends.

Knobloch

James Edward Knobloch (the “Knob”), 62, of Cleveland, died Friday, June 13, 2014, following a three-year battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Cleveland Memorial Park cemetery in Cleveland. Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 8 pm, Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland.

James was born November 7, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio, to parents James Earl and Louise Adams Knobloch. James has resided in Cleveland for the past 10 years. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps., a retiree of TDCJ after 25 years of service, and attended the Triumph Christian Center of Porter where he was a part of the music department. He had a love for southern gospel music and played the steel guitar, and other stringed instruments. He enjoyed horses and trail rides. His other hobbies included carpentry, hunting, and fishing.

Mr. Knobloch is survived by his wife of 25 years: Melba Ard Knobloch of Cleveland, sons: Jason Knobloch and wife Jacqueline of Gatesville and Jason Smith and wife Dayna of Colorado, daughters: Julie Knobloch Perego and husband Michael of Conroe and Priscilla Smith Martin and husband Garrett of Kingwood, parents: James E. and Louise Adams Knobloch of New Caney, brothers: Tom Knobloch and wife Dianne of Cleveland, Larry Knobloch and wife Bobbie of Kentucky, Don Knobloch and wife Tricia of Cleveland, and Marvin Knobloch and wife Dianne of Ohio, sisters: Kathaleen Whaley of Ohio, grandchildren: Evan, Elaina, and Eli Knobloch, Ethan and Hannah Perego, and Hudson, Ashton, and Aden Smith, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Morgan

Reverend Bob Morgan, 77 of Moss Hill, died Thursday June 12, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family.

A home going service will be held on Saturday June 14, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at New Life Assembly of God Church in Batson, with Reverend Bill Campbell and Reverend Jerry Arnold officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside cemetery in Liberty. The family will be receiving friends on Friday June 13, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.also at New Life Assembly of God Church.

Reverend Morgan was born November 6, 1935 in Houston, to Henry L. Morgan and Mae A. Ruff. He had lived in Tarkington Prairie for fourteen years before moving to Moss Hill where he lived most of his life. He was also a Licensed Assembly of God minister for 52 years and was also pastor of the senior citizens group known as The Golden Heirs at New Life Assembly of God Church where he was a faithful member. He had pastored the Moss Hill Assembly of God church for twenty six years. Reverend Morgan was also past owner and operator of Morgan's tire shop of Houston, and was also a retired Assembly of God minister and a U.S. Army veteran. Reverend Morgan was a spiritual mentor and father who raised up many young ministers under his ministry. He was a loving husband' Christian, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a loving friend.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Arthur Morgan, James Morgan, Johnny Morgan, and Henry Morgan. One sister Jeanette Mitchell.

Survivors are his loving wife and help mate of 57 years Doris Morgan of Moss Hill, sons; Carlos Randall Morgan and wife Loretta Jeanice of Daisetta, John Robert Morgan and wife Rachell Renee' of Tarkington Prairie. Daughters; Jacquelyn Land and husband Malcom of Tarkington Prairie, Connie Brothers and husband Roger of Saratoga, and sister Mary Ann Lowe and husband Melvin of Buffalo, TX. Grandchildren; twelve and nineteen great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are John Robert Morgan, Randy Morgan, John Robert Morgan Jr Randall Craig Morgan, Forrest Land Jr, and Jonathan Brothers. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Brothers and Donald Morgan.

Service of remembrance under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Services, Inc. 40847 Hwy 105 E. Batson, Texas.

Sweeten

Winona Katheryn Boyd Sweeten, age 87, of Houston, Texas, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014.

She was born November 14, 1926, in Anderson County, Texas, to parents, Jeptha Dudley Harris and Julia Katheryn Little Harris.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jot Harris.

Mrs. Sweeten graduated Reagen High School in 1944. She loved to dance, play cards with friends and going on adventures. She was loved beyond measure and will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her best friend and partner, Charles Vaselesque; sons, Rodney Boyd and wife Denise and Gregory Boyd; sisters, Mary Jo Richardson and Betty Ann Mallory and husband Larry; grandchildren Eric, Bryan and Suzette Boyd; great- grandchildren, Jaxon, Greyson and Kevin Boyd; nephews, Steve, Randy and Paul Richardson, Scott and Victor Mallory, Eddie and Jeff Harris; nieces, Julia Stone and Diane Smith.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 13, 2014, 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Gregory Boyd will preside over the graveside service held Friday, June 13, 2014, 11:30 a.m. at Pace Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens, Cleveland, Texas.

Fowler

Cheryl Lynn Mooney Fowler, 43, of Dayton, died Monday, June 9, 2014. Cheryl was born September 13, 1970 in Houston, Texas.

She loved her family, but her grandchildren and niece Gracie were the love of her life.

Cheryl enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts, music, fishing, visiting with family and friends in person and social networking and a good cup of coffee. Her favorite colors were green and purple and she enjoyed collecting Owl figurines.

She is survived by her loving husband, Mark E. Fowler, Sr.; daughter, Jamie Lee Cooper and husband Asa; sons: Mark Fowler, Jr. and wife Julie and Steven Fowler and Megan Mann; parents, Paul and Linda Mooney; father and mother-in-law, Burton and Ida Fowler; brother, Bryan Mooney; niece, Gracie; grandchildren: Ketelynn Fowler, Carter Cooper, Codey Cooper, Kaelee Cooper, Bethany Fowler, Jaidyn Fowler and Annie Fowler; many brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, great aunts, great uncles and a host of friends.

A memorial service celebrating Cheryl’s life will be on Monday, June 16, 2014, at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St., in Dayton, Texas, with Rev. Richard Mooney officiating.

Funeral services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.

Griffin

Ila Pearl “Nuncy” Griffin, 75, longtime resident of Sour Lake died June 11, 2014.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, 2 sisters, 3 brothers, her daughter, Wanda Griffin and granddaughters, Panda Griffin and Melissa Brown.

She is survived by her children, Debbie Tucker and husband Mike of Saratoga, Sharon Fillingame and husband Nicky of Saratoga, Vivian Smith and husband James of Sour Lake, Nelda Lafleur and husband Don of Sour Lake and Dalton Eugene Griffin of Sour Lake; brother, Johnny Presley of Kountze; sister, Roberta Griffin of Kountze; 12 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren and a host of great friends, family and many loved ones.

Her family will receive friends Thursday June 12, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; at Hwy 326 Worship Center located at 5970 TX 326 Kountze, Texas 77625. A service of remembrance will be 2:00 p.m. Friday June 13, 2014 at Hwy 326 Worship Center, officiated by Pastor Ernest Brown and Pastor Cody Morgan. Interment will follow at Sutton cemetery in Honey Island.

Serving as pallbearers will be Eugene Griffin, Roy Brown, Nathan “Rusty” Hendrix, Raymon Freeman, John “Bubba” Leger. Joe Leger, kort Griffin and Brian Presley.

Honorary pallbearers are Mike Fore and Doug Fillingame.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Faith and Family Funeral Services, 40847 HWY 105 E., Batson, TX, 77519, (936) 262-2100 or (936) 336-2222.

Autrey

John A. Autrey, II, 66, of Dayton, died Saturday, June 7, 2014, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

Memorial services are pending at this time with cremation services under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

John was born October 21, 1947 in Dallas, to parents; James Andrews and Delpha Gray Autrey, and has resided in Dayton for the past 30 years. He was a veteran of the US Navy with service during Vietnam aboard the USS Ticonderoga, a retired security guard, life-member of the VFW Post #5621, and member of the American Legion Post #512. He also enjoyed motorcycles, collecting, and camping.

Mr. Autrey was preceded in death by his sister: Vicki Langley. He is survived by his wife: Helen Williams Autrey of Dayton, daughter: Terry Lynn of California, mother: Delpha Gray Autrey of Dallas, father: James Andrews of Burton, sisters: Dee Hohmire and husband Emil of Garland and Sandy Autrey of Arizona, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Gillespie

Frances “Aileen” Gillespie, 93, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, died Saturday, June 7, 2014, in Albuquerque.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 13, 2014, at the Sinton cemetery in Sinton, Texas. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.

Aileen was born October 9, 1920 in San Benito, to parents; Homer and Irma Johnson Adams, a former resident of Kingsland, and has resided in Albuquerque for the past year. She was a graduate of Stuart High School and the Harlingen Business College, veteran of the US Navy with service during WW II. The library of the First Baptist Church of Kingsland was named after Aileen, for which she faithfully served. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery, and reading.

Mrs. Gillespie was preceded in death by her husband: Robert E. Gillespie, Jr., son: Lindsey F. Gillespie, father: Homer Adams, mother: Irma Johnson Adams, and brother: Glen Alvin Adams. She is survived by her daughter: JoElla Kinberger and husband Gary of New Mexico, son: Ted Joiner of Houston, sister: Leta Thomas of Bishop, grandchildren: Lauren Kinberger, Brian Joiner, and Sean Joiner, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Scott

Brendell Scott, 69, formerly of Liberty, Texas died Wednesday, June 04, 2014 in Houston, Texas.

Visitation is Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at Wells Funeral Service Chapel at 300 Alabama Street in Liberty, Texas.

Homegoing services will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 11:00am at Olive Bethel Baptist Church in Hardin, Texas.

Interment will be at Bingham cemetery in Hardin, Texas.

Beeson

Austi Alpha Lee Mead Beeson, 97, of Cleveland died Thursday, June 5, 2014. She was born April 19, 1917 in Tascosa, Texas to parents, Denny Mead and Annie Garrett Mead. A longtime resident of this area she had worked at Meekins Grocery Store.

Graveside Service for Mrs. Beeson will be 1:00 p.m., Monday at Freeman cemetery in Grangerland, Texas.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland.

Mrs. Beeson was preceded in death by her husband Harvey Beeson, her son Harvey L. Beeson, grandson, Harvey L. “Sonny Boy” Beeson, three sisters and one brother. She is survived by her daughters: Barbara Porter and Darlene Wilkinson; her daughter-in-law: Debra Beeson; ten grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren, and twenty one great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other cherished family members and friends.

Williams

Mable Mae Williams, of Dayton, formerly of Buras, LA, died at Liberty Health Care Center on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the age of 75.

Mable is predeceased by Husband Carl O. Williams, daughter Carla Watson, parents Johnny Kervin and Bertha Raymer sister Betty Walters and a nephew Rebel DeVille.

Mable is survived by her daughters: Linda McCraw and Kathy York of Dayton; grandchildren: Carl McWilliams and wife Jacie, of Beaumont, TX; Michael McWilliams and wife Melissa, of Vidor, TX; Amy McCraw, of Dayton; Ronnie York, of Florida and Jessica York, of Dayton, Randilynn Williams, Anthony and Stephan Engle, of Florida; great grandchildren: Corbin and Caleb McWilliams, Trent McCraw, Aden and Oren York, Lucas Myers and Abby Engle and Conner Lyn; sisters: Johnnie Wiegman and Sandra Berry, of Dayton, Jo Sanders, of Baytown and brother Marvin Kervin, of Dayton. Also a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Mable was born in Baytown, TX on January 21, 1939. She attended Robert E. Lee High School and continued her education after moving to Buras, La., in New Orleans, La. studying nursing. She was a retired home health worker.

Mable enjoyed watching her favorite football teams the New Orleans Saints, Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans on television. She loved cooking, gardening and canning her homegrown vegetables. But most of all she enjoyed being with family and friends.

A visitation with the family will be held at Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St. Dayton, Texas on Sunday June 8, 2014 from 2 pm till 5 pm.

A service of remembrance will be held Monday June 9, 2014 at 1:oo P.M. in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Interment will follow at Palms Memorial Park, Hwy 146, Dayton, TX.

Mable was a member of North Main Baptist Church in Liberty.Pallbearers will be Carl McWilliams, Michael McWilliams, Ronnie York, Marvin Kevin, Johnny Berry and Jerry Sanders.
