Case

Micheal Dwayne Case Sr, age 61 of Liberty died April 16, 2014 in Baytown, TX.

Micheal was born February 18, 1953 in Stuttgard, Arkansas, son of Walter Alfred and Addie Phillips Case. Micheal graduated from Hazen High School in 1971. He worked for Liberty ISD as a bus driver for ten years. Before that he was employed by Triangle Petroleum for some twenty years. Micheal was a jokester, loved building glass bird feeders, as well as spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Micheal was preceded in death by his father. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of forty years; Shirley Case of Liberty, son; Micheal Case Jr and wife Marie of Dayton, daughter; Phoebe Case and partner Bryan Wood of West Orange, TX, sister; Sherry Smith of Liberty, grandchildren; Colton Micheal Case, Erika McCracken, Corey McCracken, Brittani Geiser, great-grandchildren; Christopher East, Kooper McCracken, Laina Payne, Bentley Geiser, mother; Addie Phillips Case.

Services for Micheal Dwayne Case will be Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 10:30am at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service from 8:30am to 10:30am.

Brock

Julius Ray Brock, 72, of Liberty, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at his residence.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Julius was born March 3, 1942 in Sulphur, Louisiana and was a resident of the Liberty/Anahuac area for the past 30 years. He was a retired truck and wrecker driver, and enjoyed mechanic work and collecting.

Mr. Brock was preceded in death by his father: John D. Brock, mother: Ellen Duhon Brock, birth mother: Gurty LoBove, daughter: Kimberly Slaughter, son: Jerry Reinier, and granddaughter: Jennifer McDaniel. He is survived by his daughter: Vickie Fatheree and husband Tim of Liberty, son: Daniel Brock of Liberty, sisters: Ann Carlson and husband Ronnie of LaPorte, Eula Deshotel and husband Russell of Louisiana, Dorothy LoBove of Pasadena, and Laura Richard and husband Israel of Louisiana, brothers: Rusty LoBove of Louisiana, Wallace LoBove of Louisiana, and Ricky LoBove of Louisiana, 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

McCullough

Arthur Leroy “Art” McCullough, age 82 of Liberty, died at his residence on April 17, 2014.

Art was born May 14, 1931 in Meade Kansas, son of the late Joseph and Alma Klotz McCullough. He graduated from Meade High School in 1949 and then attended Draham Business College in Amarillo, TX. Art served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953. He worked as a District Accountant for Texaco for thirty-four years and then retired. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a past president of the Magnolia Ridge Men’s Golf Association. Art lived and breathed golf. He also enjoyed yard art and especially loved playing with his grandkids. He will be missed by all.

Art was preceded in death by his parents, and sister; Loretta Gillen. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of sixty-three years; Betty McCullough of Liberty, sons; Johnny McCullough and wife Linda of Brookston, TX, Kevin McCullough and wife Tammy of Harper, TX, daughter; Gloria Rokohl and husband Ross of Pearland, TX, brothers; Charles McCullough and wife Margaret of Virginia, Leewayne McCullough and wife Dorothy of Pennsylvania, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Donations in Art’s memory can be made to the Altar Society Bereavement Committee at Immaculate Conception Church.

Services for Arthur LeRoy “Art” McCullough will be Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 411 Milam, Liberty, TX with burial to follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, April 18, 2014 from 6:30pm to 8pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX. Rosary to start at 7pm.

Nelson

Reverend Johnny Nelson 66, of Daisetta, formerly of Mt. Belvieu, died Tuesday April 15, 2014 in Daisetta.

A home going service will be held on Saturday April 19, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at The Sanctuary of Cleveland Apostolic Church 100 E. Hanson Street Cleveland, Texas with Reverend Lonnie Jordan and Texas District United Pentecostal Church Superintendent, Reverend Kevin Prince and Reverend James Coots officiating. Other ministers that will be assisting will be Reverend Ron Baker, Reverend Wayne Collins and Reverend Aaron De Laughter. The family will receive friends on Friday April 18, 2014 at The Sanctuary of Cleveland Apostolic Church from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with interment to follow at Guedry cemetery of Batson. Reverend Nelson was born July 4, 1947 to John L. Nelson and Faye K. Sales in Conroe, and had lived in Daisetta, nine months after moving from Mt. Belvieu where he lived for twenty five years, and was a member of the Daisetta United Pentecostal Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran where he serve his country during the VietNam conflict. He had pastored the Mt. Belvieu First United Pentecostal Church for twenty years.

He had worked for The Veterans Administration Hospital where he worked passionately for The Disabled American Veterans, he was also past Chaplain for the Baytown Hospital for many years.

He also served the Mt. Belvieu community where he was honored, by receiving the Key to the city of Mt. Belvieu.

He also received the key to Chambers County. He was preceded in death by his parents; John L. Nelson and Faye K. Sales Nelson, son in law; Earl F. Bryant II, mother in law; Rosemary Carouthers and sister; Linda Nelson. Survivors are his wife; Kathy Nelson of Daisetta, daughters; Teri Coots and husband Andy of Dayton, Jami Bryant of Dayton, adopted daughter; Cheryl Fissel and husband Keith of San Diego, CA. Adopted son; Brandon Johnson of Mt. Belvieu, and one brother Joe Nelson and wife Claire of Winnsboro, TX. Grandchildren are Brent Coots, MaKenzi Bryant, and Collin Bryant. Adopted grandchildren; Autumn Singletary, Cody and Sydnee Stringer and Brian Fissel. He considered his former Batson, youth group his own kids who he loved very much.

Reverend Nelson loved the work of God and loved the saints that he pastored, and the many friends and ministers he met along the way of life's journey.

A true man of God, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Dickerson

Yvonne Dickerson 59 of Hull, died on Sunday April 13, 2014 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Houston.

A service of remembrance will be held on Friday April 18, 2014 at the gravesite at Moss Hill cemetery of Moss Hill, at 10:00A.M. with Reverend Gerald Cole officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday April 17, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Chapel.

Yvonne was born October 27, 1954 in Liberty, to Marvin Arnold and Margarett Weaver and had lived in Hull, and Liberty for most of her life and she was an homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Karl Dickerson parents; Marvin and Margarett Weaver Arnold. Brothers; Billy Ray Arnold, David Arnold, J.R. Arnold and one sister Audrey Mae Fore. Survivors are her sons; Marvin Dickerson and Alvin Dickerson both of Hull, sister; Debra Strawn of Liberty. Nephews; Paul Arnold and wife Catherine of Splendora, Clinton Arnold of Batson, Troy Arnold and wife Michelle of Batson, and great nephew; Wade Raymond Morrison of Anacoco, LA. Niece's; Darlene Morrison and husband Ray of Anacoco, LA, Marla Gay Arnold of Livingston, Jennifer Strawn and husband Frank of Liberty. Great niece's; Jennifer, Susan, and Melissa Arnold of Splendora, D.D. Arnold of Batson, Kristen Rae Morrison of Anacoco, LA. Great great niece Raelee Arnold of Batson, and cousins; Frances and Jerry Weaver of Hardin. And a host of other loving family members and good friends.

Bullington

Dorothy Ann Bullington, 65 of Crosby passed away peacefully April 15, 2014 in Houston, Texas after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born May 16, 1948 in Mountainair, New Mexico to parents Milton Alexander and Iola Skinner Bullington and had been a longtime resident of the Houston area.

Service for Mrs. Bullington will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Cleveland with Rev. Ken Smith officiating.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Walter Bullington. She is survived by her husband, Irby Hoot; daughters, Shelly Ostrander and husband Cary, Cheryl Slone and husband Robert, and Shawna Holston and husband Jon; grandchildren, Cory Ostrander, Megan Ostrander, Ryan Slone, Jamie Slone, Abigail Holston, Ethan Blackmore, and Eli Hoot; sister, Wanda Sullenger; step-children, Destany Hoot, Dwaine Hoot and wife Breanna, and Dustin Hoot; nieces and nephews, Thomas Corey, Danny Bullington, Jamie Sharpe, Michael Sharpe, Jeremy Sharpe, Stacey Corey & Gayleen Gifford; also many other family members and a host of friends.

Booker

Marcus Booker, 41, a former resident of Hardin, Texas died in Los Angeles, California.

Visitation will be Friday, April 18, 2014 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Wells Funeral Services Chapel at 300 Alabama in Liberty, Texas.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 11:00 am at Olive Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Hardin, Texas with Pastor Gregg Bellard officiating.

Interment will follow at Bingham cemetery in Hardin, Texas.

Wells Funeral Services of 300 Alabama Street in Liberty, Texas has been entrusted with final arrangements.

Jackson

Vetta Jackson 64 of Double Bayou died Apr. 14, 2014.

Services will be Saturday, Apr. 19, 2014. Visitation from 11AM until Funeral at 1 P.M. at First Missionary Baptist Church, 1110 Hamilton St., Anahuac, TX. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery, Double Bayou, TX.

Cherishing her memories are Spouse: John L. Jackson, father: Harvey Herman, children: Lawrence Lewis (Chundra), Shirley A. Soilaires (Bernard), Claven Lopez and Melvin Lopez. Lisa Marie Brown 44 of Liberty died on Wednesday April 9, 2014 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital Beaumont.

The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday April 15, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Chapel in Batson, with cremation to follow. Lisa was born April 3, 1970 in Prince William, Virginia and had live in Liberty, before moving to Fannett, where she had lived for four years and was an homemaker. She was preceded in death by her mother; Rosemarie Lucas and brother Roger Lee Lucas. She is survived by her husband A.L. Brown of Fannett, son; Brian Brown and wife Bethany of Fannett. Daughters; Julie Wilder and husband Scott of Winnie, Amber Rhine of Sour Lake, Elizabeth Hilton and husband B.J. of Moss Hill, Ashley Dossey and husband Kyle of Liberty, three sisters; Pamela, Angela, and Anita. Grandchildren are Wesley Dossey, Landon, Mason, and Sara Seal, Austin Brown, and Zadon, Zoe, and Zalia Hilton.

Pittman

Wanda Evelyn Pittman 83 of Magnolia, formerly of Hardin and Liberty area died on Saturday April 12, 2014 at Health South The Woodlands, in Conroe, Texas.

Wanda was born January 1, 1931 in Zavalla, TX to Everette Lynn Davis and Clairissa Almeda Harvel. She had lived in Magnolia for Seven years and was formerly of Hardin. Wanda loved knitting, crocheting, watching musical movies, dancing, reading the Bible, gardening, her plants, collecting recipe's, eating out and loved being around her family. Wanda is preceded in death by her husband; Willard Pittman, parents; Everette and Clairissa Davis, grandsons; Ryan Rodriguez, Randall Rodriguez, Larry Dale Erwin and granddaughter; Rhonda Rodriguez, and a sister; Marcell McManus. She is survived by her son; Rodney Evans and wife Shirley of Daisetta, daughters; Charlene Erwin of Highlands and Rhonda Vaught and husband Randy of Humboldt, IA, brothers; Charles Davis and wife Nadine of High Islands, and Jackie Davis and wife Deidre of Liberty. Grandchildren; are Shannon, Curt, Robert, Ricky, T.J., Jana, Malindee, Austin, Bailey, Colten, Blake, Alexandra and Kristen. Great grandchildren; are Tylor, Stephanie, Ean, Macy, Kyle, Hannah, Madison, Cameron, Gretchen, Payton, Reid, Easton, Cody and Holly. Great great grandchildren; are Trenton and Easton. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday April 16, 2014 at Faith & Family Funeral Services of Batson from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. A memorial Service will be held Friday April 18, 2014 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Liberty, at 2:00 P.M with Aaron Davis officiating, interment will follow at Hardin Chapel cemetery of Hardin. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Evans, Ricky Rodriguez, T.J. Brunson, Tylor Middleton, Ean Rodriguez and Kyle Fregia.

Rollins

Mattie Bell Rollins, age 92 of Cleveland, Texas, died Friday, April 11, 2014

She was born April 23, 1921, in Chireno, Texas, to parents, Edell Dan Burch and Lillie Maude Byrd. Mrs. Rollins loved quilting as well as spending time outdoors working in her flower gardens. She was also a long time member of Dolen Baptist Church where she was loved by so many.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Neal Rollins; son, Neal Allen Rollins; sisters, Allene Luce and Viny Burch; brother, Jesse Burch. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Hinson and husband, John; son, James Rollins and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Kelly Garner and wife Wendy; great grandchildren, Gage and Zane Garner; numerous nieces nephews and other cherished family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 13, 2014, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Brother Mike Nix will preside over funeral services held Monday, April 14, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at Pace Stancil Funeral Home with interment following at Shepherd City cemetery, Shepherd, Texas.

Memorial donations may be made to the Dolen Baptist Church. Dolen, Texas.

Wells

Lenora Georgia "Peewee" Wells, 88 of Saratoga, Texas died on Wednesday April 9, 2014 at Kountze Nursing Center.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday April 12, 2014 at 10:00A.M. at West End Baptist Church of Saratoga, with Reverend Bruce Crosby and Reverend Alvin Tomlinson officiating. Interment will follow at Oilfield cemetery in Saratoga.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday April 11, 2014 from 5:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M. at West End Baptist Church. Mrs Wells was born October 27, 1925 in Saratoga, to Thomas Edison Hatcher and Virginia Pearl Laird and had lived in Saratoga. She was a faithful member of the West End Baptist Church and graduated from Saratoga, High School and was an homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Thomas and Virginia Hatcher, son; Roy Gene Wells, three brothers; Jerald Hatcher, Raymond Hatcher and Leonard Hatcher.

Survivors are her husband of 73 years, Leroy Wells of Saratoga, sons; Ronald Wells of Saratoga, Jerry Wells and wife Cindy of Kountze, Billy Wells and wife Mary of Kountze. Daughter-in-law; Rozelle Wells of Thicket, brothers; Billy Joe Hatcher and wife Polly of Buffalo, TX, and Wayne Hatcher of Silsbee. Sister; Myrtie Duffey and husband Johnny of Tomball. Grandchildren; 8 Great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchild; 1. Serving as pallbearers are Rusty Wells, Shawn Wells, Jesse Wells, Jadon Yarbrough, Mitchell Hatcher, and Wesley Thompson. Honorary pallbearers are Chase Wells, and Jaron Benavides.
