Voddie R. Arnold
Services for Voddie R. Arnold, 90, of Palestine, will be at 4:30 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Drs. Lee Evans and Wes Massey officiating. Burial will follow in Guiceland Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mr. Arnold died Thursday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 26, 1910, in Bosque County to Eddie Andrew and Hessie Cotton Arnold.
Mr. Arnold was a member of Southside Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World. He was a mechanic and the owner of Arnold Auto Sales.
He was preceded in death by wife, Lucy Lambright Arnold; daughter, Wanda Evans; and an infant daughter.
Mr. Arnold is survived by daughter, Christene Scarborough of Palestine; sisters, Mattie Ott and Blanche Castro, both of New Braunfels; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Edward Castro, Arnold Ott, Troy Arnold, Harold Denson, Frank McMullen, Darwin Mitchell, John Scarborough and Earl Scarborough.
Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Williams, Jackie Steadman and Ed Hendon.
Carl B. “Pappy” Harris
Services for Carl B. “Pappy” Harris, 98, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Waco Memorial Park in Waco with the Rev. Lloyd Lane officiating.
Mr. Harris died Sunday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Italy, Texas.
Mr. Harris was the great-great-great-grandson of Isham G. Harris, governor of Tennessee during the Civil War.
He is survived by his son, Bobby Ray Harris of Buffalo; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home of Buffalo.
Jackie Hamby Sessions
Services for Jackie Hamby Sessions, 58, of Elkhart, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Atoy Cemetery in Cherokee County.
Mrs. Sessions died Saturday at her residence in Elkhart.
She was born Oct. 10, 1943, in Palestine to Vollie V. and Naomi Hamm Rapier.
Mrs. Sessions was a Baptist and member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 3907. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Dorothy Homan; and brothers, James Rapier and Billy Rapier.
Mrs. Sessions is survived by her husband, James Sessions of Elkhart; daughters, Lee Ann Shelton of Palestine and Charlotte Winkler of Houston; sons, Gary Hamby Jr. of Pearland, Billy Hamby of Elkhart, Mike Sessions of Dallas; sister, Sheila Henderson of Pearland; brothers, Hugh Will Rapier of Mesquite and Gene Rapier of Naples; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charles London, David London, Dustin London, Kenneth Honeycutt, Kennie Honeycutt and David Sarkeys.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Lucile Keeling
Services for Lucile Keeling, 90, of Palestine, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Dr. Tom Rousseau officiating. Burial followed in Tennessee Colony Cemetery.
Mrs. Keeling died Friday morning at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 4, 1911 in Tennessee Colony to James Albert and Eula May Wofford DuPuy.
Mrs. Keeling was a teacher in the Palestine Independent School District for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, the Palestine Eastern Star and the William Findley Chapter of DAR.
Mrs. Keeling was preceded in death by her husband, Guy William Keeling Sr., in 1985; a sister, Jonibel Tompkins; a brother, James Albert Dupuy; grandchildren, Leeann Pierce and Robert Pierce; and a great-grandchild, Lee Michael Smith.
She is survived by daughters, Carol Joyce Carson and Marilyn Landers, both of Tyler; and a son, Guy W. Keeling Jr. of Dallas; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were David Keeling, Brandon Smith, Matthew Smith, Bryan Dietz, Hunter Dietz and David Starcher.
Honorary pallbearers were Jared Starcher, John Dietz, Andrew Dietz, Vickie Williamson, Robert Williamson, Katharine Keeling, Denise Starcher and Zachary Smith.

Fannie Mae Kimbrough
Funeral arrangements for Fannie Mae Kimbrough, 85, of Palestine are pending at Emanuel Funeral Home.
Ms. Kimbrough died Sunday morning at Cartmell Home for the Aged.
Johnny “Hoyle” Childs
Services for Johnny Hoyle Childs, 91, of Fairfield, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield with the Revs. Glenn Montgomery, Eston Turner and Floyd Gray officiating. Burial will be in Day Cemetery in Freestone County.
Mr. Childs died Thursday at Teague Nursing Home.
He was born Nov. 14, 1910 in Coleman, Okla. to Otha and Lottie Childs.
Mr. Childs was a retired self-employed carpenter. He was a member of New Life Assembly of Fairfield.
He was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Clayton Childs.
Mr. Childs is survived by his wife, Faye Childs of Fairfield; daughters, Cora Sue Lambert of Fairfield and Janice Ivy of Rowlett; sons, David Childs and Bruce Childs, both of Waco; a brother, Willie Childs of Waco; a sister, Irene Cox of Fairfield; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Marc Ivy, Larry Childs, Leldon Childs, Jon Bruce Childs, Geoffrey Childs, and Aaron Bennett.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Charles Wayne “Chuck” Tidrow
Services for Charles Wayne “Chuck” Tidrow, 46, of Bryan, will be at 2 p.m. today at Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Frank Prater and Johnny Emerson officiating.
Mr. Tidrow died Thursday at a San Antonio hospital.
He was born Aug. 12, 1955 in Rusk. He was a resident of Bryan for 10 years.
He was a Baptist and a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his father, James W. Tidrow Jr.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Tidrow Jimenez of Charlotte; daughters, Jaye Conice McKamie of Hearne, Jodye Tidrow of Hearne and Jennifer Vivero of San Antonio; brothers, Jim Tidrow of Bryan, Kenneth Tidrow of Fairfield, Randy Con Tidrow of Bryan; sister, Linda Harris of Rusk; four step siblings and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jim Tidrow, Kenneth Tidrow, Randy Tidrow, Kenny Wayne Tidrow, Dennis McKamie, Alan Thompson and David Lightsey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby McKamie, John T. Thompson and Arthur Vivero.
Rufus Dean Middleton
Services for Rufus Dean Middleton, 53, were at noon Sunday at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Centerville with the Rev. E.C. Emanuel officiating. Burial followed at the Burton Cemetery in Centerville under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home, Crockett.
Mr. Middleton died Tuesday at the Methodist Hospital in Houston.
He was born March 6, 1949 in Centerville to Leon and Mable Houston Middleton.
Mr. Middleton graduated from Douglass High School in Centerville, and accepted Christ at an early age.
He served two years in the United State Army, after which he made his home in Houston. He worked for Local No. 80 Labor Union for many years.
Mr. Middleton was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Michael Middleton; and a sister, Yvonne Middleton.
He is survived by his mother; brothers, Wayne Middleton and Don Middleton, both of Houston, and Kenneth Middleton and Doris Middleton, both of Memphis, Tenn.; sister, Margrett Middleton, of Houston; and 14 nieces and nephews.
Patricia Jean Cordell
Services and visitation for Patricia Jean Cordell will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Cordell died Sunday.
She is survived by her husband, Dan Cordell; mother, Jean Pantel; daughter, Ricki Cagle; sisters, Judy Scogins, LaRae Pantel and Robbie Pantel; brother, Him Pantel; and two grandchildren.

Lucille Parker
Services for Lucille Parker, 77, of Hobbs, N.M. were at 2 p.m. today at Herrington/Land of Memory Chapel with the Rev. Buford Stockard officiating. Burial followed at Land of Memory Cemetery.
Mrs. Parker died Friday at Lea Regional Medical Center in Hobbs.
She was born March 9, 1925, in Elkhart to Milton and Mammie Poole Powell.
Mrs. Parker was reared in Palestine and moved to Hobbs in 1948. She was a housewife and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by a son, Maurice Parker.
Mrs. Parker is survived by sons, David Parker of Fort Worth and Buddy Parker of Alvarado; daughters, Renee Henry and Lu Rita White, both of Hobbs; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Thelma Etta Helm
Services for Thelma Etta Helm, 86, of Elkhart were at 2 p.m. today at Antrim Cemetery with the Rev. Howard Huhn officiating. Burial was under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Helm died Saturday at Spring Season of Elkhart Nursing Center.
She was born May 1, 1916, in Anderson County to Willis Hudnell and Bessie Lawrence Hudnell.
Mrs. Helm was a Baptist and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ima Dell Hassell and Lola Marie Hudnell; and a brother, George Hudnell.
Mrs. Helm is survived by her husband, Hyman H. Helm of Elkhart; and a brother; W.L. “Buck” Hudnell of Houston.
Pallbearers were Darrell Brown, Wade Brown, Chris Brown, L.B. Pierson, Adolph Kolb and Reeves Kolb.
