Rodriguez

Abelardo Rodriguez, 76, Galena Park, died Friday, March 14, 2014, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston.

Abelardo was born February 7, 1938 in China Nuevo Leon, Mexico to parents Miguel Rodriguez and Josefina Gonzalez He has been a resident of Galena Park and Dayton. He was a retired carpenter, catholic by faith, and enjoyed singing, dancing, and the outdoors.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 17, 2014, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Liberty, Texas with burial following at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday and from 10:00 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Pallbearers will be Xavier Rodriguez, Gerardo Rodriguez, Felipe Garcia, Francisco Alvarez, Fernando Leal, Alejandro Gonzalez, Antonio Garza and Efrain Garza.

Mr. Rodriguez was preceded in death by his father: Miguel Rodriguez, mother: Josefina Gonzalez Rodriguez, brother: Abel Rodriguez, and grandson: Eduardo Garza. He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Socorro Salinas Rodriguez of Galena Park, children: Guadalupe Rodriguez of Dallas, Xavier Rodriguez of Dallas, Silvia Rodriguez of Houston, Josefina Rodriguez of Dallas, Gerardo Rodriguez of Houston, Yolanda Rodriguez of Houston, Sonia Rodriguez of Houston, and Araceli Rodriguez of Houston, sisters: Arbelia Rodriguez of Mission and Armandina Rodriguez, 26 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Rodriguez

Adolph Trigo Rodriguez, 69, of Houston and Smith Point was born April 12, 1944 and died in the loving arms of his wife Nancy, on Thursday, March 13, 2014.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Joice Rodriguez, mother: Candelaria Rodriguez De Alonso; 3 sisters, 2 brother, 9 children, 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; mother-in-law: Lily McClure, father-in-law: Paul McClure, sisters-in-law: Debbie Kritikos and husband Nick and Shari Brady and husband Steve and 4 nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Adolph C. Rodriguez, sister Carmen Rodriguez and his beloved Tia Eva Belanga.

Adolph was in the transportation business for many years. He enjoyed working, fishing, gambling, and traveling with his wife. The man that could make something out of nothing. He touched many lives, and will remain in our hearts forever.

A visitation with the family will be on Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main, in Anahuac and Monday, March 17, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M..

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, in Anahuac, Texas.

Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, family request memorial be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.

Services are under the directions of Sterling Funeral Home, in Anahuac, Texas.

Joy

Wesley E. “Wes” Joy, 54, of Dayton, died Friday, March 14, 2014, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with services concluding thereafter. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Wes was born October 1, 1959, to parents; Randy R., Sr. and Katherine Daniels Joy, a former resident of Baytown, and has resided in Dayton for the past seven years. He was a graduate of Lee High School class of 1977, a material handler for Arkema Chemical of Houston with 35 years of employment, and will be remembered as a caring and helpful person to all. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, wood working, and tinkering.

Mr. Joy was preceded in death by his father: Randy R. Joy, Sr. and brother: Randy R. Joy, Jr. He is survived by his wife of seven years: Karen Westphal Joy of Dayton, daughters: Katherine L. Joy of Dayton and Jessica A. Powell of Baytown, mother: Katherine Daniels Joy of Batson, sister: Maura Joy of Baytown, granddaughter: Kaylyn Lambert, nephew: Trey Joy, special friend: Eddie Foote who gave lifesaving aid prior to Wes’ hospitalization, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association at PO Box 841125, Dallas, TX 75284-1125.

Huey

Nettie Ann Huey, age 82 of Liberty, went to be with the Lord on March 13, 2014 in Liberty, TX.

Nettie was born December 25, 1931 in Henderson, TX, daughter of the late Felix Huey and Lorene Cowen Huey. Nettie attended Henderson High School and was a housewife all of her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all.

Nettie was preceded in death by her parents, great-grandchild; Alyssa Duff, and brother-in-law; H.E. Boothe. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons; Monte Davis of Morgan City, LA, Jerry Davis of Liberty, TX, daughters; Katrina Antu and husband Roy of Somerville, TX, Penny Hohenstein and spouse Rick of Houston, sisters; Mona Fajkus and husband Frank of Hardin, Dottie Boothe of Moss Hill, brother; Sonny Huey of Moss Hill, twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Services for Nettie Ann Huey will be Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 1pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX with burial to follow at Boothe cemetery in Moss Hill. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service from 11am to 1pm at the funeral home.

Shavers

Jimmie Lewis Shavers, age 47 of Rye, TX, died March 11, 2014 in Marlin, TX.

Jimmie was born April 30, 1966 in Conroe, TX, son of the late Walter Shavers and Lucille Walker Shavers. Jimmie worked for MDS as a truck driver. He was a hard worker and loved his job. Jimmie was always a big joker and story teller. Jimmie enjoyed fishing, working on vehicles, going mudding but mostly loved his family and trucks.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife; Genny Shavers of Rye, TX, sons; Christopher Norris and wife Janis of Clinton, AR, Jimmie Lee Shavers and wife Katie of Choctaw, AR, daughters; Destiny Shavers, Dillian Shavers, Lucille Shavers, Samatha Parks, brother; Walter Shavers and wife Deborah of Rye, TX, step-brother; Dale Emmons of Trinity, TX, grandchildren; Jacqulynn, Jaelynn, James Lee and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation services are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2104 at Allison Funeral Home from 5pm to 8pm.

Hoffart

Louise Hoffart, age 93 of Liberty, died Thursday, March 13, 2014 in Liberty with her loving family by her side.

Louise was born May 7, 1920 in Nicholsville, AL, to parents Drury N. Singleton and Lillie Wilkerson Singleton. Louise’s mother died when she was only four, she was then raised by her sister Birddee and husband George W. Hill.

Louise lived in the Liberty area for the past fifteen years and was a homemaker. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the New Work Family Worship Center. Louise loved to garden and was a fabulous cook and seamstress. Louise was a good wife and mother and she loved her husband, church and family. She will be missed by all.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Birddee and husband George W. Hill, who raised her, and son; Gilbert Lee Wiggins Jr. and three grandchildren. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband of thirty-five years; Sylvester Hoffart, daughters; Don Ella Chesteen and husband H.E., Judy Odom and husband Glenn, sons; Ricky Joe Hoffart and wife Barbara, Alan Hoffart, sisters; Nellie Lea Corneilus, Letha Williams, Sharon Lusk and husband Steve, Ellen R. Hodges, brothers; Drury Lee Singleton, Jimmy J. Singleton and wife Anna, Alford Singleton and wife Linda, ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Louise considered Barbara Hoffart as her own daughter and Rebecca Lenert, and David Hoffart as her own grandchildren. She also considered Mary Strahan and Arthur “Bub” Strahan, not only a niece and nephew, but as a sister and brother.

Services for Louise Hoffart will be Monday, March 17, 2014 at 2pm at New Work Family Worship Center, 2512 Grand Street, Liberty, TX with burial to follow at Cooke cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service from 12noon to 2pm. .

Jones

Cathy Lynn Traywick Jones 41 of Devers, Texas died on Wednesday March 12, 2014 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital of Beaumont.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday March 15, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Devers, with Reverend Rick Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at the Ricebelt cemetery in Devers. The family will be receiving friends on Friday March 14, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. also at First Baptist Church in Devers.

Cathy was born September 26, 1972 in Conroe, TX to her parents Lee Traywick and Jean Traywick both of Devers, TX. Cathy had lived in Devers, most of her life and was a Dispatch Supervisor with the Dayton, police department. She had also had worked for The Liberty County Sheriff Department for over eight years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Devers.

She was preceded in death by her brother; Vernon Traywick and her grandparents. Cathy is survived by her husband who loved her very much, Anthony Jones of Devers, her father; Lee Traywick of Devers, and mother; Jean Traywick of Devers, mother -in-law; Pam Donatto Walker of Ames. Daughters; Cortney Jones of Devers, Alisha Jones of Devers. Sisters; Donna Traywick of Devers, Donna Scott Smith of Devers and Heather Van Tassel Howard. Sister-in-laws; Patty Traywick of Devers, Staci Jones of Ames, Kasey Jones of Baytown. Sons; Tevin Mouton of Devers, Fabian Galvan of Devers. Nieces; Colleen, Chelsi, Shanna. Nephews; Kevin, Joseph, Seth, Luke, Joshua, and Adam. Cathy had numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of loving friends. She was also nanny to Raegan, Anthony Lee, Alizabeth, Sabrina, and Thomas.

Serving as pallbearers are Joseph Rayon, Seth Traywick, Luke Hughes, Kevin Patterson, Tevin Mouton, Fabian Galvan, Mike Jones, Kevin Theiss and Darrin Traywick. Honorary pallbearers are Sam Lemelle, Todd Rayon, Wade Rayon, Roland Rayon, John Scott, Chris Sanders, Chad Johnson, Clinton Ayers, Adam Percy, Joshua Percy, Klayton Carter, Kris Scott, Darrick Traywick, Kent Bautsch, Steve Bautsch, Robbie Traywick, Keith Lee, Wayne Traywick, "Uncle Bub" and members of the Devers Volunteer Fire Department and also her law enforcement family.

Torres

Blanca O. Espinosa Torres, 36, of Dayton, died Monday, March 10, 2014, in Dayton.

Prayer services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, March 13, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, March 14, 2014, at the funeral home, with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m., and burial following at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Blanca was born April 28, 1977 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, to parents; Antonio Espinosa Ventura and Lucina Pineda Guerrero, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Dayton for the past two years. She was a cook for Edgar’s Meat Market in Dayton, attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and enjoyed walking and cooking.

Mrs. Torres is survived by her husband of 18 years: Miguel Torres of Dayton, daughter: Mikeila Torres of Dayton, sons: Miguel Torres, Jr. of Dayton, Manuel Torres of Dayton, and Jose Torres of Dayton, father: Antonio Espinosa Ventura of Mexico, mother: Lucina Pineda Guerrero of Mexico, brother: Francisco Javier Espinosa of Mexico, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Hardin

William R. "Bro. Bill" Hardin, 91 of Dayton, died Sunday, March 9, 2014 in Liberty, Texas.

He was born on April 29, 1922 in Springfield, Kentucky to parents, William Raymond Hardin and Iva Rae Durr Hardin.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Hardin; son, Daniel Gene Hardin; brothers Leon Hardin and Eugene Hardin and sister, Edith Brentzel.

He is survived by his children, Rev. Wayne Hardin and wife Donna, Brenda Smith and husband Curtis, Nola Loving Weaver, Jimmy Hardin and wife Pam, and Randy Hardin; grandchildren, Kathy Barber and husband Jerry, Danny "Bubba" Hardin, Billy Hardin, Sherry Hardin, Jennifer Hardin, Christy Oliver and husband, Jason, Raymond Hardin and wife Amy, Stacy Cline-Sanders and husband Willie, Penny E. Proske and husband PJ, James "Bo" Hardin and fiancée Cassie Cavazos, Laura Hardin and Chad Bays, Jason Hardin, Courtney Durham and husband Clay, Randa Nibert and husband Travis, Robert Rose, Christopher Rose and Richard Weaver; great-grandchildren, Joshua Barber, Danielle Hardin, Ashley Hardin, Amber Hardin, Brittany Tenorio, Craig Tenorio, Tristan Oliver, Gage Oliver, Ashton Oliver, Lucas Hardin, Cason Hardin, Ashley Lloyd and husband Shelby, Brandon Rainwater and wife Lauren, Zachary Emerson, Zayne Emerson, Anthony Ramirez, Caleb Cline, Landyn Cline, Jules Sanders, Evan Sanders, Ryan Hardin, Ryleigh Nibert, Karleigh Nibert, and Ethan Durham; great-grandchildren, Maleigha and Kinsley Rainwater; brothers, Joseph Hardin and wife Loraine and Pierce Hardin and wife JoAnn and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.

Bro. Bill and his wife Joyce pastored the Community Baptist Church in Humble from 1959 until 1965 when they moved to Houston and pastored the Hartley Street Baptist Church from 1965 until retirement in 1996.

He surrendered to preach the gospel when he was a young man in Springfield, KY. and was proud that he had served the Lord since he was a young boy.

He joined the United States Army at the outbreak of World War II and upon completion of his duty, he joined the United States Marine Corps.

He was a house builder and brick mason by trade for most of his life, a trade he had learned from his father. He was very, very faithful to the church and was extremely saddened when the time came to retire. He continued telling everyone that crossed his path about Jesus and his love, even after suffering a debilitating stroke which eventually led to his being placed in a nursing facility. A very grateful patient, we would always hear him thank his caregivers even when they caused him pain to make him feel better. He was known as "Pop" to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Dad to his children and Bro. Bill by so many that he had pastored, baptized and all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 1 o'clock in the afternoon until 8 o'clock in the evening at Grace Community Baptist Church, 8073 FM 1960, Dayton, TX, 77535. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 11 o'clock in the morning at Grace Community Baptist with his son, Rev. Wayne Hardin officiating. Bro. Bill Hardin will be laid to rest beside his wife Joyce, at Rosewood cemetery in Humble, TX. His family would treasure your thoughts and memories of him and encourage you to leave those messages here.

Fancher

Florene Curry Fancher, 88, of Anahuac, died on Saturday, March 8, 2014. She was born May 17, 1925 in Buna, Texas to Garland and Viola Curry.

Mrs. Fancher enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening, visiting with friends, and most of all she loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Anahuac.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Nelson Fancher, daughter-in-law Dana Fancher and two grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter: Cynthia Tidwell; sons: G.B. “Butch” Fancher and Clint Fancher and wife Becky; grandchildren: Alissa Swonke and husband Todd, Marcy Green and husband Adam, Kimberly Pye and husband Brandon, Jaime Fancher, and Piper Bott; great grandchildren: Alex, Abigail, Emma, Eli, Aaron, Casey, Cody, Kristina, Kerri, and Eric and three great great grandchildren.

A visitation with the family will be on Monday, March 10, 2014, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac, Texas.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Anahuac, with Pastor Gary Hillyard officiating.

Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac, Texas.
