Shiver

Erik Dewayne Shiver, 28, died Sunday, November 24, 2013 at his home in Oak Island, Texas. He was a loving son, father, brother, uncle and friend.

Erik was a commercial fisherman and worked as a crane operator for Kiva. He was a talented man, always doing some type of activity. Very well liked, big and strong, a great son with the softest heart who loved his family. "Gentle Giant".

Erik is preceded in death by his grandparents; Jimmy Lee Shiver, Mary Elizabeth Pelt, brother; Ronald Stacy Shiver, and sister; Sandy Shiver Barwick.

Erik is survived by his parents; Steve and Margaret Shiver, son; Kaleb Blaine Simon, brother; Ronald Len Shiver, sister; Brianna Desiree Shiver, and many other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held in the Community Christian Fellowship Church in Oak Island at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 30, 2013. Interment will follow in Jackson cemetery. A gathering of Erik's family and friends will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, November 29, 2013 in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, Anahuac, Texas.

Jones

Billy Jack "B.J." Jones died Sunday November 24, 2013.

He is preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Vinnie Jones; daughter, Deborah L. Jones; son, Jimmy Jones; sisters, Ernestine Northcot and Bobbie Barrow.

He is survived by his son, Donald Foreman; daughters, Penny Mishio and husband Richard of Hudson, Maine, Joy Matlock of Hardin, Melissa King and husband Timmy of Hardin; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday November 27, 2013 at Hardin Chapel cemetery, officiated by Reverend Bill Campbell.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Faith and Family Funeral Services, 40847 HWY 105 E., Batson, TX, 77519, (936) 262-2100 or (936) 336-2222.

Durham

Mickie Stout Durham of Sour Lake, TX died November 25, 2013 in Winnie, TX with her loving family by her side.

Mickie was born March 20, 1948 in Corsicana, TX, daughter of the late Billie and Virginia Meadors Stout. Mickie was a housewife most of her life but was also employed at Wal-Mart in the retail industry. She loved puzzles, collecting Hot Wheels and Barbies, gardening, dancing, Blue Bell Ice Cream, Dr. Peppers but mostly loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Mickie was preceded in death by her parents.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, son; John Durham of Beaumont, daughters; Sandy Higginbothan and husband Perry of Sour Lake, Christi Kersh and husband Robert of Hardin, brother; Billie Stout of Livingston, grandchildren; Travis Kersh, Josh Taylor, Amber Taylor, Taylor Kersh, Jessa Higginbothan, Maggie Higginbothan and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for Mickie Stout Durham will be Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 10am at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX with burial to follow at Hardin-Chapel cemetery in Hardin. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm in the Chapel at Allison Funeral Service.

Cerda

Rosendo "Ross" Dela Cerda, 59, of Anahuac, Texas died Sunday, November 3, 2013 at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown, Texas with his family by his side.

He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Ross was a very giving and unselfish man with an unbelievable amount of faith. He was a member and very involved with the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Mount Belvieu. He loved cars, sports, movies, fishing, BBQ, and drinking. He was constantly fixing things.

Ross is preceded in death by his parents Irene and Baldemar Dela Cerda.

Ross is survived by is sons; Marcos Dela Cerda, wife Tanya, Anthony Dela Cerda, wife Michelle, daughter; Adrienne Mason, brother; Roland Dela Cerda, sister; Susie Mcillwain, husband Loyde, Priscilla Phillips, Seven grandchildren, and host of other family and friends.

Parks

George Reuben Parks, 78, of Dayton, Texas, died on Friday November 22, 2013 at Harbor Hospital in Beaumont, TX, surrounded by his loving family.

There will be a graveside service on Tuesday November 26, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Linney cemetery of Dayton, TX, with Steven Kinney officiating. The family will be receiving friends on Monday November 25, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Chapel.

He was born on May 30, 1937 to Bernard Parks and Maudie Rae Fuquay in Silsbee, TX, and had lived in Groesbeck, TX, twenty-two years before moving to Dayton, TX, where he lived for six years. George was a retired Engineer with Dowell Chemical, and was also a U.S. Army veteran and also a Mason with Dayton Masonic Lodge# 825.

He was preceded in death his parents; one sister; Billie Johnson, two sons; Guy Lynn Lindsey and Wayne Lindsey.

Survivors are his wife of forty years Judith Parks of Dayton, sons; Roy Bray and wife Dawn of Deer Park, TX, Paul Parks and wife Julia of Austin, TX, daughter; Shawni Carroll and husband Michael of Dayton, TX. Brothers; Archie Parks of Groesbeck, TX, Lester Parks of Silsbee, TX, Sidney Parks of Silsbee, TX, Joe Parks of Beaumont, TX, Charlie Parks of Kingwood, TX, and sister Anita Carol Leonard of Groesbeck, TX. Grandchildren are Cody, Lacy, Sophie, Katy, Kathy, Skye, Garrett, Hayden, and Tracy, and great grandchild Zoe. Special friends Larry Hargrove and Green Miller and also numerous nieces nephews and a host of loving friends.

Memorial Contributions may be made to charity of choice. Serving as pallbearers are Paul Parks, Roy Bray, Cody Tillman, Michael Carroll, Joe Parks, and Travis Smesny. Honorary pallbearers are Green Miller, Garrett Parks, Hayden Parks, Larry Hargrove and Reuben Wayne Parks.

Goudeau

Joseph Patrick Goudeau died November 19, 2013 in Houston, Texas.

Memorial Service for Joseph Patrick Goudeau will be Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Wells Funeral Service Chapel 300 Alabama, Liberty, Texas with Rev. Ronnie Henderson, officiating.

Wells Funeral Services at 300 Alabama Street, Liberty, Texas has been entrusted with the final arrangements.

Johnson

Frances Louise "Fran" Johnson, 67, of Liberty, died Friday November 22, 2013.

She started modeling at an early age. Due to her petite size and quick responses, she became involved with drag racing. She worked for The National Hot Rod Association for 20 years. Later in life, she moved to Liberty to be closer to family. She then went to work for, and retired as a Jailer for Liberty County Correction Center.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Marie Rooks; brother, Fred Rooks.

She is survived by her son, Christopher Williams and wife Lisa of West Columbia, TX; Granddaughter, Grace Williams of Hardin; brother, Jim Partan and Wife Marie of San Diego, CA.

Cremation services have been arranged through Faith and Family Funeral Services.

Duvall

Lily Maxine Duvall 69, of Batson, Texas died on Wednesday November 20, 2013 at her residence.

She had lived in Batson all of her life. She was a homemaker and loved her needle point, embroidery and quilts. She had a true fondness for gardening. Lily was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brothers; Billy Jack Duvall and wife Charlotte of Moss Hill, Texas and John Wayne Duvall and wife Tonya of Dickinson, Texas. Sisters; Mary Wood of Batson, Texas and Elizabeth Duvall of Batson, Texas. Nephews; Joseph Wood and wife Brandy of Silsbee, Texas, Robert Wood and wife Kim of Vernon, Texas, Joseph Duvall of Port Arthur, Texas and Dusty Duvall of Dallas, Texas. Nieces; Mary Suzanne Groggins of Silsbee, Texas. A grave side service of remembrance will be held on Sunday November 24, 2013 at 3:30 P.M. at Guedry cemetery in Batson, Texas with Reverend Bill Campbell officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Sunday November 24, 2013 at Faith & Family Funeral Services Chapel.

Edmonds

Ruby Lee Edmonds, 78, of Liberty, died Tuesday November 19, 2013.

She worked for Gerlands Home Health. She was a very generous and helpful person. She was a true giver.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Joanna Fregia; brothers, Alvin Fregia and Vivian Fregia.

She is survived by her special friend, Daniel Clayton; children, Gail Scott and husband Rick of Channelview and Clarence Edmonds and wife Patricia of Liberty; grandchildren, David Edmonds and wife Angela of Liberty, Kevin Edmonds and wife Kelly of Liberty, Robert Edmonds and wife Amanda of Hardin, Jessica Edmonds of Liberty and William Edmonds of Liberty; multiple great grandchildren; siblings, Clarence Fregia and wife Claudene of Hull, L.T. Fregia of Liberty and Katherine Pastoric of Batson; numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends at Faith and Family Funeral Services on Monday November 25, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 12; 00 p.m. A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday November 25, 2013 at Oakdale cemetery in Daisetta.

Serving as pallbearers will be Keven Edmonds, Robert Edmonds, David Edmonds, Gary Fregia, Clifford Fregia and Brandon Gary.

The named honorary pallbearer is Connie Edmonds.

McCraw

James McCraw 78, of Shreveport, LA, formerly of Batson, TX, died on Tuesday November 19, 2013 in Shreveport, LA.

A native of Burkeville, TX, he had lived in Batson, TX, most of his life and was an Oilfield Consultant for Tanner Construction of Dayton, TX, and was also a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents Courtney Lavelle McCraw and Ethel Marie Rice McCraw, sister; Courtney Marie Horton. Four sons, James Lavelle McCraw, Donald Ray McCraw, Robert Thomas Moody, and John Wesley McCraw.

He is survived by daughter; Kathy Franks and husband Eddie of Lumberton, TX. Sons; Paul McCraw and wife Jodene of Shreveport LA, Tim Moody of Saratoga, TX, Alvin Moody of Houston, TX, John Coleman of Dayton, TX, Randy McCraw and wife Misty of Beaumont, TX, Sam McCraw and wife Stacey of Centerville, TX. Sisters; Cassie Mae Shelley of Leesville, LA, Sylvia Maxine Cole and husband Steve of Gainesville, TX, Melba Spears of DeRidder, LA, and Dale Fiesel and husband Frank of Leesville, LA, daughter-in-law, Cheryl Hobbs McCraw of Batson, TX. He was blessed with 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he cherished.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday November 23, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services Chapel, with Reverend Lloyd Carroll officiating, interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson. The family will be receiving friends on Friday November 22, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Faith & Family

Braxton

Roger Braxton, Sr. departed this life at home Friday, November 15, 2013 in Liberty, Texas.

Visitation will be Friday, November 22, 2013 from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Service Chapel at 300 Alabama, Liberty, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Mt. Rose Baptist Church at 808 Washington Street in Liberty, Texas at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be held from 09:30 A.M. until the time of service, with Reverend L.C. Speights officiating.

Interment will follow in Wells Memorial cemetery in Liberty, Texas.

Wells Funeral Services has been entrusted with final arrangements.

Landrum

Earnest W. “Junior” Landrum, Jr., 71, of Dayton, died Monday, November 18, 2013, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 23, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial at a later date. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Junior was born August 20, 1942 in Laurel, MS, to parents; Earnest W. “Sharp”, Sr. and Vicie “Vickie” Holifield Landrum, and has been a lifelong resident of the Dayton area. He was a retired truck driver, member of the First Assembly of God Church, and former youth sports coach. He also enjoyed fishing, watching the Astros, playing guitar, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Landrum was preceded in death by his father: Sharp Landrum, mother: Vickie Holifield Landrum, son: Gary L. Landrum, son-in-law: Jimmy Baugh, and parents-in-law: Pearl and Dorothy Croft. He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Louise Croft Landrum of Dayton, daughter: Terry Baugh of Baytown, brothers: David Landrum and wife Laura of Cleveland and Paul Landrum and wife Nancy of Kenefick, sisters: Gloria Roper of Grangerland and Emilie Landrum of Killeen, grandchildren: Mellisa Wall and husband John, Kimberly Fregia and fiancé Stephen Wendel, Kristopher Landrum and wife Linda, Eric Landrum, Holly Landrum and fiancé John Burns, IV, Shelbie Baugh, and Kristianne Baugh, great-grandchildren: Kaylie, Hannah, Jacob, Preston, Jordyn, Blaine, Kyndal, and Jaidyn, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
