Ledbetter

Maurice Ledbetter, age 72 of Liberty, died October 7, 2013 at his residence in Liberty.

Maurice was born January 18, 1941 in Liberty, TX, son of the late Albert Ledbetter and Marie Freeman Ledbetter. He graduated from Kisser High School in California. Maurice was an Electronic Engineer for Hughes Aviation.

Maurice was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, aunts; Doris Singleton of Crosby, Mary Lou McDowell of Chicago, IL and uncle; O’Neal Freeman of California.

Cremation services have been entrusted to Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX.

Butler

Ronald Gene Butler Sr. was born in Arcadia (Bienville Parish), Louisiana on July 16, 1950.

He was the fourth child born to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Butler who preceded him in death. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Norma Houston for 22 years. Through there union they were loving parents to three children Kim Butler Showers (Willie), Ronald G. Butler Jr. (Cynthia), and Trevor Butler Sr.(Regina). He was a selfless man who was a respected member of the community and will be greatly missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory twelve grandchildren, three sisters, Betty Dever (John Barnes), Sharyn Dever, and Venessa Dever; five brothers Milton, Kennith (Theresa), Alvin (Heather), Clifton (Kathy), and Efrem (Charlotte). As well as, a host of relatives and faithful friends.

Services for Ronald Gene Butler Sr will be Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 11am at the 1st Baptist Church in Dayton with burial to follow at Wells cemetery in Liberty. Visitation will be two hours prior to service from 9am to 11am.

Compton

Mary Elizabeth "Abby" Stutes Compton died October 18, 2013.

She was born in Baton Rouge, La. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Abby retired from the Chambers County Treasures Office where she worked as a bookkeeper for over twenty years. She loved gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Abby is preceded in death by her parents; Laura and Enos Stutes and husband Jesse Woodrow Compton.

Abby is survived by her daughter; Joanie Simpson, husband Benny, son; Michael Compton, wife Jill, Grandchildren Shannon Misiaszek, husband Bill, Lori Tharp, husband Darrin, Jennifer Compton, Amanda Simpson, Jeff Simpson, Eight great grandchildren, and host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be Sunday, October 20, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery. A gathering of Abby's family and friends will be Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Simpson, Neil Greene, Mike Wheat, Rick Neill, Paul Jolly and Chipper Sherman.

Rainey

Joseph E. “Joe” Rainey, Jr., 78, of Dayton, died Friday, October 11, 2013 at his residence.

Memorial services will be held 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2013 at the St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Liberty. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

Joe was born February 24, 1935 in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey to parents Joseph, Sr. and Adeline Vay Rainey. He was a former resident of Houston and has resided in Dayton for the past 33 years. Joe was a graduate of Booton High School class of 1955, a volunteer fireman for 7 years in Mt. Tabor, NJ, a veteran of the US Army serving in the Army Band, a salesman by trade and member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church. He was most recently employed by Franks Collision Repair in Dayton. Joe also enjoyed playing drums with numerous bands, woodworking and was know for his bargain shopping skills. He never met a stranger and his sense of humor stayed with him until his last day.

Mr. Rainey was preceded in death by his father: Joseph Rainey, Sr. and mother: Adeline Vay Rainey. Joe is survived by his wife of 34 years: Sharon Wagner Rainey of Dayton; daughters: Kim Rainey of San Leon and Nancy Kerensky and husband Mike of Houston; brother: Les Rainey and wife Sharen of NJ; nephew: Matthew Rainey; niece: Kristen Rainey; also numerous other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a children’s charity or a local animal shelter of choice.

Mainor

Braiden Anthony Mainor, age 4 of Hardin, died October 14, 2013 in a tragic motor vehicle accident.

Braiden was born January 27, 2009 in Humble, TX, son of Bobby and Teresa Mainor.

Braiden was a bright and smart kid and always had a smile on his face. He loved fishing, anything to do with the outdoors but mostly loved his mom and dad being their “Cuddle Bug”. Braiden was always full of joy and will be missed by all.

Braiden was preceded in death by his grandfather; Bobby G. Mainor, grandmother; Teresa D. Rollins, great-grandmother; Ellen Johnson, great-grandfather; Glover J. Rollins.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, parents; Bobby and Teresa Mainor of Hardin, sisters; Victoria and Alexis Mainor, grandparents; David W. Rollins of Hardin, Barbara Herring of Ace, David & Dianna VanTassell of Moss Hill, great-grandparents; Joan Mainor of Shore Acres, Eldon & Janell Mayo of Rye and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services for Braiden Anthony Mainor will be Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 2pm at North Main Baptist Church in Liberty. Visitation will be Friday, October 18, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX.

Enerson

Myra Jerlene Enerson, 66, of Dayton, Texas, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at Solara Hospital with her family by her side.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Jeri was a christian lady that always saw the good in people. She was the caregiver of the family no matter where she had travel to help others. Above all else, she lived for her children and grandchildren. Jeri enjoyed playing games, crocheting, her dogs, and the Texans.

Jeri is preceded in death by her parents; Mittie and Jack Morris and her husband; Richard John Enerson.

Jeri is survived by her sons; Richard Gene Enerson, wife Amanda, Randall Thomas Enerson, Vance Wolcik, grandsons; Chance Ashton Enerson, Cason Thomas Enerson, brothers; Jay Morris, Don Morris, Nick Morris, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 19, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. at the First Assembly of God church in Dayton, Texas. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton, Texas. A gathering of Jeri's family and friends will be Friday, October 18, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Pallbearers will be Richard Gene Enerson, Randall Thomas Enerson, Chance Ashton Enerson, Don Morris, David Morris, and Wacey Ray.

Adams

Leonard Adams, Sr, died October 13, 2013 in Stafford, Texas.

Visitation is Friday, October 18, 2013 from 09:00 am to 11:30 am with funeral services to follow at 11:30 am at Sugarland Mortuary.

Interment will follow at Houston National cemetery.

Wells Funeral Services at 300 Alabama in Liberty, Texas has been entrusted with the final arrangements.

Lowrie

Douglas Glen Lowrie, 25, of Sour Lake died Sunday October 13, 2013.

He attended Hardin Jefferson High School. He was a student at Lamar University studying in the medical field. He loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed reading and studying history. He was a member of Grayburg Baptist Church. He never met a stranger. He loved to joke and pull pranks. He cherished his time spent with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Grover H. and Eva Lowrie, E G and Elnora Gaskey.

He is survived by his parents, Odell and Dorothy Lowrie of Sour Lake; siblings, Dwayne Lowrie of China, TX, Renee’ Prasnicki of Port Neches, Robert Lowrie and wife Julie of Hardin and Michelle Jou and husband Yadi of Houston; nieces and nephews, Clinton Prasnicki, Kayla Prasnicki, Michael Nugent and wife Stephanie, Craig Cantrell, Neil Jou and Andy Jou and wife Vy; great-nieces and great-nephews, Britanie Nugent, Chris Nugent, Princeton Jou and Kelbi LaBlanc; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

His family will receive friends at Faith and Family Funeral Services Chapel Thursday October 17, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A service of remembrance will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday October 18, 2013 at Faith and Family Funeral Services Chapel, officiated by Reverend Byron Sanford and Reverend Jay Thomas. Internment will follow at Rosedale cemetery in Sour Lake.

Serving as pallbearers will be Alex Stelly, Clinton Hill, Clinton Prasnicki, Eugene Griffin, Harold Biano, Jr., Jimmy Engleman and James Kinter.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Faith and Family Funeral Services, 40847 HWY 105 E., Batson, TX, 77519, (936) 262-2100 or (936) 336-2222.

Bagwell

James Mitchell Bagwell, Sr., 76, of Anahuac, Texas passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 at Bayside Community Hospital in Anahauc, Texas with his family by his side.

He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. James was a good christian man who loved the Lord, very dedicated to his family and determined to be the best Father possible. Always looking at the glass half full, not half empty. He worked as a Draftsman. Being very active in his community, he umpired and coached baseball and softball games, was instrumental in creating and distributing the"Don't forget to Pray" Bracelets and instrumental in reinstating the baccalaureate services in the schools. James was a member of the Christian Caring Center, Ministerial Alliance, and served on the Anahuac Hospital Board. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and above all else his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. James is preceded in death by his parents; Opal Estel and Leonard Bagwell, wife; Ruthie Bagwell, and sister; Mary Tulley.

James is survived by his son; James Bagwell, Jr., wife Marcia, daughters; Cheryl Sanders, husband Ken, Theresa Greco, husband Pete, Margaret Bennett, husband David, grandchildren; Reese Bagwell, wife Hannah, Christin Bagwell-Hyde, husband CJ, Justin Sanders, wife Kaitlyn, Jessica Hawthorne, husband Paul, Russell Greco, wife Sara, Will Davis, wife Gina, Angela Greco, Megan Harrison, husband Brian, Paul Joe Greco, Kaitlyn Bennett, Maci Bennett, Ashley Bennett, Four great grandchildren, brother; Gerald Bagwell, wife Nan, sister; Betty McCluskey, husband Eugene, and host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 2:30 P.M. at the Methodist Church in Anahuac, Texas. Interment will following at the Anahuac cemetery. A gathering of James' family and friends will be Monday, October 21, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac, Texas. Pallbearers will be Reese Bagwell, Justin Sanders, Will Davis, Russell Greco, and Paul Joe Greco and Jace Bagwell.

Cooley

Allen Oliver "Butch" Cooley, 61, of Anahuac, Texas died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at his home.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Butch was a gentle, kind, and compassionate man, always putting his family first. He was a man of many trades. Worked as an electrician, mechanic, and surveyor throughout his life. He was also an EMS for Anahuac for many years. Butch enjoyed tinkering with his tools, had a passion for cars, loved animals and hunting.

Butch is preceded in death by his mother; Patsy Jo Cooley, mother in law; Christine Pryor and nephew; Josh Cooley.

Butch is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Charlotte Gayle Cooley, father; Walter K. Cooley, son; Micheal Cooley, daughter; Kaye Cooley Cormier, husband Willis, grandsons; Brett Cooley, Kyle Cormier, brother; Mike Cooley, wife Pat, nephew; Justin Cooley, aunt; Polly Gaby, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, October 17, 2013, at 1:00 P.M. in the Hankamer Community Fellowship Church in Hankamer, Texas. Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery. A gathering of Butch's family and friends will be Thursday, October 17, 2013, from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. in the Hankamer Community Fellowship Church.

Pallbearers will be Micheal Cooley, James Westin, Eric McNaughton, David Hatfield, Roger Abshier, and Brett Cooley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kyle Cormier, Willis Cormier, and Craig Stengler.

Rossell

Joanne E. Rossell, age 73 of Daisetta, died October 11, 2013 in Baytown, TX with her loving family by her side.

Joanne was born May 30, 1940 in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late Robert and Florence Burgerson. She was retired from the Sears Credit Union and was self-employed in the janitorial industry. She loved to sew and was a big NASCAR fan. She will be missed by all.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Raymond L. Klugh.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter; Bonnie Bishop and husband Hugh of Hardin, son; Bill Rossell of Daisetta, brother; Ronald Burgerson of Dallas, grandchildren; Justin, Jonathan, Amanda, Lindsy, Sara, Ryan and Ian, great-grandchildren; Kylee, Brayden, Bryce and Carson.

Services for Joanne E. Rossell will be Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 1pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX. Cremation services have been entrusted to Allison Funeral Service.
