Cotten

Charles Raymond Cotten, 71, of Batson, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday October 11, 2013.

Born in Cleveland, Texas, he lived in Batson most of his life. He was a member of the Mt. Belview United Pentecostal Church. He worked as a Millwright for U.S. Steel in Baytown. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Frederick and Edna Cotten; brother, Travis Cotten; sister, Edna Joyce Lewis.

He is survived by his fiancé' of 12 years, Peggy Johnson of Batson; sons, Raymond Cotten and wife Cheryl of Batson, David Wayne Cotten of Batson, Anthony Gregg Cotten and wife Jennifer of Freemont, CA; and Tommy Trahan of Winnie, and daughter, Patricia Gail Cotten of Livingston. Brothers, Sherman Richard Lewis of Batson, Jerry Wayne Lewis of Batson, George Walter Lewis of Saratoga, Carlton Ray Lewis of Batson; sister, Pamela Sue Lewis of Saratoga; first wife, Mary Francis Oberg and husband Ted of Batson; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

His family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday October 13, 2013 at the United Pentecostal Church of Batson. A service of remembrance will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday October 14, 2013 at the United Pentecostal Church of Batson, officiated by Reverend Johnny Nelson. Internment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Corey Cotten, John Cotten, Josh Bowman, Robert Caruthers, Richard Zwahr and Sam Lewis. Honorary pallbearers are Jake Caruthers and Ross Jordan.

Brothers

William Travis Brothers, 47, Born on April 9, 1966 to parents of Robert Gaylon Brothers and Virginia Lee Brothers in Liberty Texas.

William (Billy) died in a tragic train accident on October 8, 2013 In Beaumont Texas. He was an avid hunter and fishermen who loved the outdoors. He was an awesome painter that could never get enough painting done for his sister.

He is proceeded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister Robin Linville whom he adored, and his brother in law "Big Dave" as he affectionately called him. David Linville was more than a brother in law. He was a true brother that was always supportive, showed him kindness, and loved him unconditionally. He leaves behind two siblings. Robert Brothers and his family. Eric Brothers and his family. He also leaves behind a niece Shana Fulmer and her children Sheldon, Darby, and Keely Strother. A nephew Jimmy Fulmer and wife Hannah and their children Blake, Kaylin, Savannah, Macie, and Preston. Another nephew Justin Fulmer and his wife Karen and their children Blake, Dylan, and Payton. He also leaves behind a host of family and friends whom loved him.

Two of Billy's favorite scriptures that he read often and kept close to his heart are Revelation 22:7 and Revelation 22:20-21.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Humane Society or a homeless shelter of your choice. There will be a memorial service announced at a later date. Cotten

Holbrook

June Elaine Cole Holbrook, 87, of Dayton died Thursday, October 10, 2013.

She was born June 7, 1926 in Dayton to parents Walter and Mary Ann Smith Cole. A lifelong resident, she attended and graduated from Dayton High School in 1943. June was a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and shopping. Most of all she took loving care of her family.

Service for Mrs. Holbrook will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 14, 2013 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Piatt officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park cemetery under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Holbrook was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years, A.C. Holbrook, Jr., four brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her son: James Aaron Holbrook and wife Deirdre of Atascocita; her daughters: Mary Ellen Holbrook Conner and husband Alan of Dayton and Victoria Marie Holbrook Johnson and husband Sam of Virginia; grandchildren: Alan “Ardist” Conner, Caroline Alana Conner, Christy Alane Ackerman, Brett Peveto McQuhae, Tracy Marie McQuhae, Cullen David McQuhae, Aaron T. Holbrook; great-grandchildren: Roman Darington Conner, Duncan Ardist Conner, Charles Allen McQuhae, Maggie Grace McQuhae, and Aspen Alani Addison; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family request in lieu of flowers memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 202 East Houston, Dayton, Texas 77535.

David

Amber David, Sr. of Ames, Texas passed away Tuesday, October 08, 2013.

There will be a visitation on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 1:00 pm-6:00 pm at Wells Funeral Service Chapel in Liberty, Texas. Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 12, 2013 . He will lie in state from 1:00pm -2:00pm at St. Miles Baptist Church at 120 Highway 90 in Ames, Texas with funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor John Walker officiating.

Interment will be at Wells Memorial cemetery, Liberty, Texas .

Wells Funeral Services at 300 Alabama in Liberty, Texas has been entrusted with the final arrangements.

Terrell

JoAnn Southerland Terrell, age 63 of Liberty, died Monday, October 7, 2013 at Liberty-Dayton Regional Hospital.

JoAnn was born October 21, 1949 in Tallasse, Alabama, daughter of the late John Edd Hammonds and Nellie Gates Hammonds. She graduated from Beauregard High School in Opleka, Al and was in the house cleaning business. She loved to sing but mostly loved going to garage sales.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband; Thomas Terrell of Liberty, daughter; Pamela Felice of Baytown, sisters; Johnie Hobdy and husband Harrell of Pasadena, Marie Miranda of Arkansas, Dorothy Hutchings and husband Wayne of Kentucky, Wanda Meir and husband Russell of Georgia, Kimberly Mowery and husband Jackie of Alabama, brothers; Albert Hammonds and wife Kolana of Alabama, Steven Hammonds and wife Dianne of Alabama and Tim Hammonds of Florida.

Memorial services for JoAnn Southerland Terrell will be Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 10am at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX. Cremation services have been entrusted to Allison Funeral Service.

Riecher

Teresa Riecher, former Liberty County law officer and wife of magazine editor Anton Riecher, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, in Hearne, TX, after a lengthy illness. She was 60.

Plans for a graveside memorial services in Liberty, TX, are pending. Creamation will be done by McNutt Funeral Home in Conroe.

Born Virgie Teresa Wheaton in Baytown, TX, on Dec. 11, 1952, Teresa's parents were Guy and Thelma Wheaton. The family later moved to Liberty, TX, where Teresa attended school. A graduate of the University of Houston, Teresa became a certified peace officer working for the Dayton, TX, police and the Liberty County Sheriff's Department under Sheriff Buck Eckols.

After marrying in March 1981, Teresa moved with her husband who worked as a newspaper journalist in the Texas cities of Paris, Palestine, Ennis and Bryan-College Station. Since 1996, her husband has been editor of Industrial Fire World magazine, specializing in industrial fire fighting.

Teresa worked most recently for the Texas Agricultural Extension Service. In 2006, she suffered a stroke that left her wheelchair bound. She continued to live at home with her husband until further illness last year required nursing home care.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Anton. The couple had no children. Memorials should be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Hendrix

Annah Lee Hendrix, 79, of Sour Lake, died Saturday October 5, 2013.

She had a career as a photographer for Larry Robinson's Photography Studio in Beaumont. She enjoyed singing and playing the piano. She was a great cook. She loved taking care of her animals.

She is preceded in death by her husband Olie Ray "Buck" Hendrix; parents, John and Maysel Parker; sister, Olia Fay Milstead.

She is survived by her nieces, Maudine Lancaster of Sour Lake, Katie Thomas of Nederland, Mildred Hatton of Bridge City; nephews, Johnny Milstead and wife Cindy of Sour Lake, Danny Milstead of Amarillo; cousin Bernadette McClain of Houston.

Her family will receive friends at Faith and Family Funeral Services on Wednesday October 9, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday October 10, 2013 at Bumstead cemetery in Lumberton, officiated by Reverend James Votaw.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Faith and Family Funeral Services, 40847 HWY 105 E., Batson, TX, 77519, (936) 262-2100 or (936) 336-2222.

Parks

Barbara Little Parks, 81, of Dayton, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013, at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Dayton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with burial following at Magnolia Park cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.

Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Barbara was born March 29, 1932 in Broaddus, to parents; Theodore and Lovie E. Sheard Jamison, a former resident of Kirbyville and Baytown, but has resided in Dayton since 1960.

She was a graduate of the Broaddus High School class of 1948, a retired manager and clerk of Norcross Grocery, and of the Assembly of God faith.

She also enjoyed gardening, collecting, cooking, and when possible she attended the Assembly of God Church.

Mrs. Parks was preceded in death by her father: Theodore Jamison, mother: Lovie E. Sheard Jamison, husband of 21 years: Bill Parks, daughter: Lizzie Westerman Elmore, son: Kenneth Westerman, great great-grandson: James David Huckabay, sister: Joyce Mae Francis, and brother: Grover Cleveland Marse. She is survived by her sons: Archie Remmers and wife Lizzie of Dayton and Darrell Westerman and fiancé Sheila Hightower of Baytown, daughter: Joyce Anna Webb and husband Jack of Dayton, sister: Merle Rainwater of Dequincy, LA, grandchildren: Bobby, Rhonda, Nicholas, Theresa, Yvette, Michael, Dawn, Miranda, and Angela, 13 great-grandchildren, six great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Graham

Belvin L. Graham 73, of Seattle, WA, died Sunday, September 22, 2013, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 7, 2013, at the Magnolia Park cemetery with burial following thereafter. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Belvin was born September 3, 1940 in W. Columbia, to parents; Reecy C. Graham, Sr. and Willie H. Broadway Bellard, and has resided in Seattle for the past 30 years. He graduated from Brazoport High School in 1958 and attended the Alvin Junior College and College of the Mainland. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, was an engineer for Smith Berger Marine, former employee of NASA under Brown and Root Northrop on the Apollo 11 and 14 missions, and enjoyed travel, inventing, drawing, working with engines, and boating. Mr. Graham was preceded in death by his father: Reecy C. Graham, Sr. and Willie H. Broadway Bellard, brothers: John Graham and Reecy C. Graham, Jr. He is survived by his sons: Cameron Graham of Dayton and Coleman Graham of Lake Jackson, grandchildren: Ty Justin William Graham, Kaytlyn Frankum, Reagan M. Graham, and Brendon A. Graham, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Price

Uhl Eugene Price, age 63 of Hardin, died at his residence on October 3, 2013 in Hardin, TX.

Eugene was born, October 4, 1949 in Chula Vista, CA, son of the late Uhl Price and Imogene Gass Price. Eugene worked as a night watchman most of his life.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, brothers; Bill Price, Ronnie Price, Richard Price and Jimmy Price, sisters; Eula Penske and Phyllis Price and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation services are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX. Visitation will be Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Allison Funeral Service from 5pm to 8pm in the chapel.

McNeil

Ralph Henry McNeil, 69, of Dayton, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 6, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Ralph was born February 11, 1944 in Tuskahoma, OK, to parents; James M. and Iris M. Smith McNeill, a former resident of Liberty, and has resided in Dayton for the past 20 years. He was a retired truck driver for Enterprise Trucking, and enjoyed playing dominoes, fishing, and travel. Mr. McNeill was preceded in death by his father: James M. McNeill, mother: Iris M. Smith McNeill, son: Donald Tanner, daughter: Carolyn Earp, brothers: Jim, Russell, and Paul McNeill, and sisters: Pearl Lucas and Roxie Jacobs. He is survived by his daughters: Diane Giddens and husband Gary of Dayton and Lessia Tanner of Dayton, sister: Brenda Irons of OK, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
