Morse

Raymond Eugene "Gene" Morse, 77, lifelong resident of Saratoga, passed away Sunday March 17, 2013.

He worked as a roughneck in the oil fields. He enjoyed hunting. His greatest love was tending to cows and horses and he was a member of The Cattlemen's Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joe Ann Morse; parents Ardivelt and Edith Morse; sister, Joyce Morse; brothers, Walter Harold Morse and James Loyd Morse.

He is survived by his children, Patricia Iott and husband David of Warrensburg, MO, Barbara Morse of Holden, MO, Melba Morse and husband Timothy of Saratoga, Ethel Ridgeway and husband Robert of Baytown; grandchildren, Jessica Escajeda and husband Jesse of Bentonville, AR, Kaitlyn Morse of Holden, MO, Paul Matthews of Jacksonville, FL, Benjamin Morse-Matthews of St. Charles, MO, Jason Morse-Matthews of Saratoga, Rebeccah Ridgeway of Baytown; great grandchildren, Cassidi Dowd, Samantha Dowd and Tony Dowd, all of Bentonville, AR, Hunter and Olivia Escajeda, both of Bentonville, AR; sisters, Willie Mae Hart and husband E.C. of Saratoga, Inez Jones and husband Leo of Thicket; uncles, Howard Morse of Vidor and Harvey Morse of Jasper; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

His family will receive friends at Faith and Family Funeral Service on Wednesday March 20, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A service of remembrance will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday March 21, 2013 at Faith and Family Funeral Services Chapel, officiated by Reverend Alvin Tomlinson and Reverend Nathan Hendrix. Internment will follow at Jackson Settlement cemetery in Saratoga.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Faith and Family Funeral Services, 40847 HWY 105 E., Batson, TX, 77519, (936) 262-2100 or (936) 336-2222.

Patrick

Edward L. “Pat” Patrick, 91, of Liberty died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Harbor Hospice facility in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Liberty with burial following at Cooke Memorial cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the First Baptist Church, Liberty. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Pat was born October 1, 1921 in Peason, LA, to parents; George M. and Rehama Cornline Patrick, a former resident of Premont, and has resided in Liberty for the past 37 years. He was a veteran of the US Navy with service during WW II, a retired field mechanic from Sun Pipeline, and a Deacon of the First Baptist Church. He loved his family, was a volunteer for Helping Hands, S.O.S., and the church kitchen crew and also enjoyed wood working, church activities.

Mr. Patrick was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years: Dorene L. Aldridge Patrick, his parents, four brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by his daughter: Debbie Beasley and husband Dennis of Liberty, son: Reginald Patrick and wife Linda of Liberty, grandchildren: Patrick Beasley and wife Tiffany, Troy Beasley, and James Patrick, great-grandchildren, Makayla Beasley and Kristen Beasley, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Landry

Michelle Landry 53, of Hankamer, Texas answered the call to be with the Lord on March 14, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her mother: Dolly Landry and Grandmother: Myrtle Landry:

She leaves to Mourning her departure, yet cherishing her memories are daughter: Lacee Moore, brothers: Billy Landry, Nieces Joycelyn Landry, Jai-Laia Landry, and JaTorian Landry and Nephew, Jaden Landry all of Hankamer and a host of other Relatives and Friends.

Michelle Home Going Service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013, at St. Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church, 213 Albrittion Gully Rd. Hankamer. Visitation will begin at 11AM until Funeral which will begin at 1:00p.m. Rev. David Hudson, Officiating.

Lewis

Claudine A. “NaNa” Jurek Lewis, 71, of Dayton, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Liberty with burial following at Ryan cemetery in Tarkington Prairie. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with rosary services at 6 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Claudine was born December 6, 1941 in Houston, to parents; Arnold A. and Lydia C. Dlouhy Jurek, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Dayton for the past 35 years. She was a graduate of the Incarnate Word Academy class of 1959, attended Lee College, was a Director of Religious Education for St. Jude Catholic Church, and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and the Liberty Art League. She also enjoyed sewing, painting, her plants, playing the piano, and singing.

Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her parents and son: Kenny Lewis. She is survived by her husband of 52 years: Kenneth V. Lewis of Dayton, daughters: Natalie Ripkowski and husband David of Dayton and Jennifer Croft and husband Robert of Hunt, daughter-in-law: Sue Lewis Key of Dayton, sisters: Elizabeth Janak and husband Hubert of Hallettsville, Linda Dierschke and husband Johnny of Moulton, and Judy Humphries of Crosby, brother: Robert Jurek and wife Madelyn of Crosby, brother-in-law: Tim Lewis and wife Anita of Kerrville, grandchildren: Kris Lewis, Nathan Lewis, Ryan Lewis, Amber Wilson and husband Leon, and Lindsey Croft, special companion: Miss Kitty, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Clanton

Kendra Noelle Clanton, age 4, of Baytown, TX died Saturday, March 16, 2013.

Kendra was born January 26, 2009, in Baytown, TX, daughter of Kevin and Courtney Clanton. She was a bright little angel and always put a smile on faces. She loved to dance and especially loved the Liberty High School Prancer Drill Team. Kendra even had a Prancer outfit that she enjoyed wearing. During a spring show, Kendra went on stage with the Prancers without her parents knowing. Kendra loved her Barbie dolls and her makeup.

Kendra was preceded in death by her great-grandfather; Bill Clanton, great-grandmother; Louise Hogg and uncle; Christopher Clanton. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her parents; Kevin and Courtney Clanton of Baytown, TX, brother; Christopher Clanton II, paternal grandparents; Wes and Donna Clanton of Liberty, Kerrye and Van Middleton of Liberty, maternal grandparents; Robbie and Michelle Ware of Minot, ND, paternal great-grandmother; Bethel Clanton of Liberty, maternal great-grandparents; John and Shela Ware of Hankamer, TX, Mike and Nell Murray of Wimberly, TX, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services for Kendra Noelle Clanton will be Friday, March 22, 2013 at 10am at New Journey Church, 8200 North Main, Baytown, TX with burial to follow at Brookside cemetery in Houston. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX.

White

John Adrien White was born December 5, 1968 in Liberty, Texas to the proud parents John and Sarah Ann White.

John was Baptized at an early age at St. Miles Missionary Baptist Church under leadership of Pastor PJ Walker. He later joined Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church. John attended Liberty High School where he was a 1987 graduate. He was employed by ES&H where he was Manager of the Pasadena Location.

He was joined in holy matrimony to Chanella Faye Elzie-White; to this union two children were born. John was a loving father, husband and grandfather. All that knew him loved him.

John was preceded in death by Paternal Grandparents: Alvin White and Betsy M. Provost, Maternal Grandparents: William Vallery and Laurice Mitchell and Uncle: Willie Love Wilson, Jr.

On March 16, 2013, John was home called to be with the Lord. He leaves treasure his memories, Wife: Chanella Faye Elzie-White; Daughters: Sigounery S. White and Diamond C. White; Granddaughter: Kaamil Meyani Williams-White; Brothers: Fabian (Aundrea) and Reggie (Nikki) both of Kingwood, TX; Half Brother: Joshua K. White, Nephews: Fabian Jr., Caleb, R. J., Devon, Deshaun and De'Andre; Nieces: Alyssa, Ironesha and Farrahnique, and a host of Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and Friends.

Neumeyer

Louis Nall Neumeyer, age 92, of Liberty passed away Saturday March 16, 2013 in Conroe, Texas.

He was born on June 14, 1920, the son of William and Jessie Neumeyer of Checotah, OK, where he grew up and went to school. Louis was drafted into the US Army in 1942 to serve in World War II where he fought in North Africa, Italy, France, and Germany. He finished the war as a lieutenant, went to college at Oklahoma A&M, and began work as an agronomist for the Soil Conservation Service. After his retirement, he also worked as city planner for Liberty and city manager in Dayton. During most of these years he also served in the National Guard and retired as a Brigadier General. During a long and distinguished career in the military, he viewed those accomplishments with great pride. During his college years, he met and married Donna Steiner, and together Nu and Donna moved to Texas, settling in Rusk and then in Marshall for the next eighteen years. They moved to Liberty in 1966 where he worked until his retirement. He enjoyed model railroading, politics, and coffee with his buddies at McDonald’s.

Louis is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and his daughter Becky Slade.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of sixty-six years, Donna Steiner Neumeyer, and by his daughter Nancy Gatlin and son-in-law Gerald. He also leaves his two grandchildren, Marsha Stringer and husband Don with their sons Garrett and Gatlin, and Bart Gatlin and wife Tonya with their children Ashley and Joseph.

Visitation for Louis will be held Monday, March 18, 2013 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral Services will be held 10AM Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at First United Methodist Church, Liberty, Texas with burial to follow in Cooke Memorial cemetery.

Kirkland

Robert Allen Kirkland, age 65 of Devers, died March 14, 2013 in Beaumont, TX with his loving family by his side.

Robert was born September 2, 1947 in Silsbee, TX, son of Alfis and Geneva Breaux Kirkland. He attended Silsbee High School where he graduated in 1966. Robert attended Lamar University where he earned two bachelors degrees in Mathematics and Electrical Engineering. He was employed as a master electrician and licensed professional engineer with Allied Electrical Contractors for over thirty years. Robert was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Liberty a member of Tau Beta Ph and a member of the Devers School Board for twenty-five plus years. Robert loved hunting, watching baseball and being with his family and grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his father; Alfis Kirkland. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife of forty-one years; Vivienne Kirkland of Devers, son; Robb Kirkland and wife Jessica of Livingston, TX, daughter; Jana Post and husband Corbett of Pearland, TX, mother; Geneva Kirkland of Devers, TX, brother; Ricky Kirkland and wife Judy of LaGrange, TX, in-laws; Horace and Iris Whittington of Devers, TX, grandchildren; Maggie Allyn Post, Chap Corbett Post, Whit Ellison Post, Laci Brooke Kirkland, Seth Brandon Kirkland, Leyton Carter Kirkland and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for Robert Allen Kirkland will be Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 2pm at 1st Baptist Church in Liberty, TX with burial to follow at Whittington cemetery in Devers. Visitation will be Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Devers Education Foundation, P.O. Box 488, Devers, TX 77538.

Manuel

Mary Dell Vance Manuel formerly of Dayton Tx. died March 13, 2013 in Baytown, Tx.

Mary was born January 26, 1919 in Holcomb, Grenada County, MS. She was married December 3, 1934.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; John and Georgia Vance, husband; Earl Davis Manuel; and daughter, Linda Gail Manuel.

She is survived by her sons; George "Boots" Manuel of Holcomb, MS, Robert Manuel and his wife Carolyn of Dayton, TX, and Fulton Manuel of Remington, VA; daughter Rene Evans and husband Dave of Webster, TX. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton, under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Tx.

Perryman

William Claude Perryman age 71 died March 10, 2013.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years and the love of his life, Cecelia Perryman, his two children and spouses, Doyle and Krissi Perryman of Whitehouse, Stacey and Danny Miller of Conroe, six wonderful grandchildren, Kacey and Jon Averitt of Conroe, Kelcey Miller of Devers, Anthony and Aaron Miller of Conroe, Andrew and Tandy Miller of Spring, Texas, Valerie Bloomquist of Whitehouse, and one great-grandson Tammen Miller, twin brother, Walter and Ruth Perryman of Nederland, sister Sandra and Barney Gaspard of Kountze, numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a grandson Brian Miller, and his parents Mary and Brit Perryman.

Claude was active at the First Baptist Church of Devers, where he was a Deacon and Sunday school teacher for senior men. His first love was for Jesus and then his family. He was and still is an inspiration to all who knew him. He retired with thirty-three years of service to Exxon as a process technician. Claude was also a 32nd Degree Mason.

Visitation for Claude will be held Friday from 5-8PM March 15, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Devers, 106 Ave A Devers, Texas. Funeral services will be held 2PM March 16, 2013 at the church with burial to follow in Cooke Memorial cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Claude’s memory to the First Baptist Church of Devers Youth Department.

Trahan

Lloyd Trahan Sr, age 63 of Liberty, died March 10, 2013 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Lloyd was born August 2, 1949 in Liberty, TX, son of Bernett and Eula Lavine Trahan. Lloyd attended West Liberty High School and was a member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Ames. He was a loving father, grandfather and best friend.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his father. He leaves behind to cherish his memories sons; Lloyd Trahan Jr of Liberty, Lance Trahan of Liberty, daughter; Lameka Trahan Henry and husband Ray of Baytown, mother; Eula Trahan of Liberty, sisters; Margie Williams and husband Alonzo of Prairie View, TX, Angela Brooks and husband Lois of Raywood, TX, partner in life, Winda Gayle Kelly of Beaumont, TX, and six grandchildren.

Services for Lloyd Trahan Sr will be Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 11:30am at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Ames, TX. Visitation will be from 9am to 11am that same day with a rosary starting at 11am. Burial will follow at the Ames Catholic cemetery.

Budro

Tyler Lane Budro 17 of Batson, died Sunday March 10, 2013 at Memorial Hermann Hospital of Houston.

A service of remembrance will be held Friday March 15, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. At Hull - Daisetta High School Auditorium with Leta Storey and special friend Lindsay Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery of Batson. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday March 14, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. also at Hull - Daisetta High School.

Tyler was born in Port Arthur, Texas on August 26, 1995 and lived in Batson, and was a student at Hull - Daisetta High School.

He was preceded in death by his father James "Boo" Storey, great- grandparents J.L. and Helen Budro, Billie and Alma Booth.

Survivors are his mother Janie Budro of Batson, love of his life Kayla Simmons of Devers, brothers Trevor Budro and Kelby Holder both of Batson. Sister Alex Broussard of Orangefield, uncle Garland and aunt Brandi Maughan of Liberty, special friend and mentor Lindsay Stephens of Daisetta, and Bubba Holder of Batson, grandparents Charles and Mildred Budro of Batson, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Tyler loved horseback riding, camping, fishing, hunting. He also enjoyed being around his family and friends and also being "Paw-Paw's" shadow. Tyler loved playing practical jokes, taking care of his family, and he always had a smile on his face.

Serving as pallbearers are Trevor Budro, Raymond Hickman, Kevin Budro, Rick Cook, Garland Maughan, Jim Simmons, and Colby Maughan. Honorary pallbearers are Kelby Holder, Jerry Budro, Ricky Cook, Brody Simmons, Brandon Maughan, Frank Baucum, Jean Babb, Tommy Musslewhite and Bill Deckert.

Nelson

Emily Theresa Nelson, age 58 of Liberty, died March 9, 2013 in Baytown, TX.

Emily was born December 11, 1954 in Liberty, TX, daughter of Whitney and Elizabeth Singleton Nelson. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Daisetta. Emily attended Liberty High School and worked at Liberty Cleaners for several years. She loved to make people happy and loved her grandchildren.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Mark Douglas Lee.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, daughter; Joanna Singh and husband Harinder Pal of Liberty, brother; Whitney Nelson of Liberty, sister; Georgiana Raleigh and husband Larry of Liberty, grandchildren; Faith Singh and Katelyn Singh.

Services for Emily Theresa Nelson will be Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10am at 1st Baptist Church in Daisetta. Visitation will be Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 5pm to 7pm at 1st Baptist Church.
