73 of Saratoga, died Thursday January 24, 2013 at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont.

A service of remembrance will be held Sunday January 27, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services Chapel with Reverend Frank Aragon Hal LaPray and Wade Miller officiating. Interment will follow at the Sutton cemetery in Honey Island. The family will be receiving friends Saturday January January 26, 2013 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family. Pallbearers are Ben Ballard Jerid Bordes, Allan Sauberan, Brian Austin, Gary King, Jeff Parrish, Noel Brown and David Hommel. Honorary pallbearer is Jimmy Davis.

Lillian was born on February 27, 1939 to Buford Ben Parrish and Vera Hortense Carr in Beaumont, Texas. She had lived in Mauriceville and the Vidor area for most of her life before moving to Saratoga where she lived for about 6 years and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of The Latter Day Saints. Lillian had worked for Market Basket in Mauriceville, as a Deli Worker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Wanda Harrelson.

Those who survive her are son Ricky Flowers and wife Connie of Saratoga, brother David Parrish and wife Janie of Junction, Texas. Sisters Binnie King of Mauriceville, Mary Austin and husband Sidney of Vidor, Linda Ballard and husband Herbert of Ragley, Louisiana. Grandchildren Heather Gilley, Karla, Kayla and Alexis Flowers, Dawn Glover, Jaime Holman, Autumn Scott, Lee Scott. Great Grandchildren Kimberlann and Kamryn Gilley.

Service of remembrance under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105 E. Batson, Texas 77519.

Marr

William “T-Tom” Marr, 59, of Dayton, died Thursday, January 24, 2013, at his residence.

Funeral services will held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at a later date. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

T-Tom was born October 29, 1953 in Goodrich, MI, to parents; Norman Marr and Betty Hearns a former resident of Flint, MI, and has resided in Dayton for the past 30 years. He was a veteran of the US Army, a former mechanic for Western Auto in Dayton, and a volunteer for Pals for Pooches in Humble. He also enjoyed yard work, crawfish boils, shuffleboard, and known as the King of Farmville.

Mr. Marr was preceded in death by his father: Norman Marr and brothers: Gary and Rusty Marr. He is survived by his wife of 16 years: Susan Doyle Marr of Dayton, daughter: Kelly Aragon and husband Nathanial of Japan, son: William “Tommy” Marr, Jr. and wife Karen of TN, mother: Betty Hearns Plummer of MI, brothers: Mitch, Norman, David, Robert, Richard, and Dan, sisters: Diana, Debbie, Judy, Kay, Patty, Becky, and Cheryle, grandchildren: Shawn and Emilie Marr, his cherished pets and companions: Daisy Duke, Lil Willie, and Willow, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Nelson

James Franklin Nelson, 92, of Lufkin, TX. died on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 with his family by his side. He was a loving father, uncle, and friend.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 26, 2013 in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Interment will follow in Magnolia cemetery in Dayton. A gathering of James' family and friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Sterling Funeral Home.

James was preceded in death by his son, David Nelson; sisters, Mable Nelson, Esther Nelson, Ellen Holbrook, Ruth Wilson and Hazel Smith; brothers, Joe, Elmer, frank, and Silas Nelson. James was a native of Dayton. James was a heavy equipment operator for S.W. Nelson Construction for many years. He loved football and cruising around town.

James was born of Swedish descent. He was a native of Dayton and played high school football for the Dayton Broncos. He attended First United Methodist Church of Dayton.

James is survived by his daughter, Jo Beth Lambert and husband, Lloyd; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Woods

Judge W. G. “Dub” Woods, Jr. died Saturday, January 19, 2013, at his ranch, surrounded by close friends and family.

He is survived by his daughter Susan and her husband Gary Speer of San Antonio; his son Patrick and his wife Greta of Fort Worth; grandchildren Ryan Woods, Katherine Speer and Tyler Woods; sisters Barbara “Bobbie” Herlitz of Liberty and Norma “Beanie” Rowland of Wallisville; sister-in-law Dr. Molly Woods of Spring and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Frank Ed “Pop Deck” Woods.

Dub was born in Beaumont, Texas on February 18, 1927 to Wilber Glenn Woods and Loda Marie Harrington. He was a longtime resident of Liberty and graduated from Liberty High School in 1943. He attended Lamar College in Beaumont, Yale University and Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri as well as the University of Texas at Austin where he earned his law degree in 1950 . He also served in the U.S Navy during World War II.

Dub was the first Judge of the 253rd district taking office in September 1, 1977 after being appointed by then Gov. Dolph Briscoe. But his career of public service goes back to 1951, when he was appointed justice of the peace in Liberty by county commissioners. One year after being appointed justice of the peace, Dub ran for County Attorney and was elected serving 12 years in that job before election as the District Attorney for Liberty and Chambers Counties in 1964.

Dub retired in January 1999 as the Judge of the 253rd Judicial District with a distinguished career of 47 years of public service. After his retirement he enjoyed many years of visiting judge assignments in the surrounding area. He especially loved his time spent on the bench in Richmond.

There were few things that the Judge loved more than the University of Texas Longhorns, his family, friends, the law and his hometown of Liberty. Dub also enjoyed spending time on his ranch in Moss Bluff where he raised and sold cattle.

Dub was able to spend his last years at his ranch with the loving support of his sister, Bobbie and later with a team of caregivers managed by Ramona Jackson and her family, Dr Don Callens of Liberty and Odyssey Hospice.

A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5 to 8pm at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty. Graveside services will be held at 10 am Friday at City cemetery in Liberty.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Odyssey Hospice, 550 Fannin Street, Suite 1230, Beaumont TX 77701

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Allison Funeral Home at 1101 N. Travis, Liberty Texas 77575, Phone (936)-336-6418.

Brown

Link Brown Sr. age 92 of Raywood, died Thursday January 17, 2013.

Link was born on February 1, 1920 in Chireno, Texas to the late Hulen and Pearlie Ikner Brown. Link was a self-educated man who provided a comfortable living for his family. He retired from Diamond Shamrock after 31 years of service. He was so proud of never being late or missing a day of work.

In 1948 he married Wilma Guyton and to this union nine children were born. Link accepted Christ at a very early age. He was a dedicated member of Mount Rose Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for over thirty years. He was also a member of the Masonic Pettigrew Lodge #127. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and family gatherings.

Link was preceded in death by his parents, Hulen and Pearlie, loving wife, Wilma, sisters, Lillie Stanfield and Louise DeBlanc, brothers, Osborne and Leonard Brown, son-in-law, Wilson Pickens and grandson, Lance Pickens.

He leaves to cherish his memories: mother-in-law, Lola Martin, his sister, Dorothy Brown, Houston, Texas; his daughters: Lola Herman of Raywood, Texas, Pearlie Brown (Eric) of Ames, Texas, Gloria Pickens and Tracy Brown of Highlands, Texas, Wilma Elaine (David) Moore and Connie (Lonnie) Webb of Beaumont, Texas, Gloria Coleman of Richmond, California; his sons: Larry (Maria) Brown of Port Arthur, Texas, Link Jr. (Cynthia) Brown of Liberty, Texas and Thaddeus Brown of Raywood, Texas. He also leaves 21 grandchildren: Tonya, Nina, Arkesha, Linc, Ashari, Tommy Jr., Kenya, Larry, Trina, Link III, Kenrick, Krystal, Juan, Hailey, Jalyn, Evan, Sydney, Azeem, Malik, Ruben, and Link Dante’; 26 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11AM Tuesday January 22, 2013 at Mt. Rose Baptist Church, 808 Washington Ave. Liberty, Texas. Visitation will be held from 9-11AM the morning of the service. Burial will follow in Wells Memorial cemetery. Allison Funeral Service 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Eakens

Orbin Erwin Eakens, 87, life-long resident of Saratoga, died Wednesday January 23, 2013.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Saratoga. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army with the rank of corporal. He worked in in the oilfields for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Alice Eakens; wife, Thelma Butler Eakens; brother, J.D. Eakens; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Roy Truitt.

He is survived by his daughter, Pam Molina of Wildwood, TX; step-daughter, Janell Payne of Lumberton; grandchildren, Tommy Payne and wife Janet of Lumberton, Linda Payne of Lumberton, Eric Molina of Colorado, TX, Phillip Molina of Colorado, TX; three great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Jo Lawson of Snyder, TX, Dorothy May of Bixby, TX; numerous nieces and nephews.

His family will receive friends at Faith and Family Funeral Services on Friday January 25, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A service of remembrance is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 26, 2013 at Faith and Family Funeral Services, officiated by Reverend Frank Aragon and Reverend Billy Wayne Walston. Burial will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Carl May, Thomas Payne, Robert Sparks, James Edward Sparks, Michael Sparks and Troy Don Sparks. Honorary pallbearers are Don Brown, John Taylor Payne and Tom Cryer.

Storey

Seawillow "Diltz" Storey 96 of Hull, Texas died Saturday January 19, 2013 at Liberty Healthcare Center.

Service of remembrance will be held Monday January 21, 2013 at 2:00P.M, at the Guedry cemetery of Batson with Reverend Harvey Drake officiating and Lana Rene' Skinner providing music. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday January 20, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.at the Faith & Family Chapel of Batson.

A native and lifelong residence of Hull, Texas "Diltz" was an homemaker and a Christian attending church when she was able at Community Church of North Hull.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Earnest B. Storey, daughter Ruth Storey Schaal. Grandson James "BOO" Storey. Mother Julie Fregia, sister Maude Nugent, Agnes Speed, Ollie Mae Dagle. Brothers Sevan Taylor, Roy Taylor, Leslie "Pat" Taylor.

She is survived by her son Jim Storey and wife Leta of Hull, daughter Janell Storey Raimer of Hull, sister Mae Bell Fregia of Hull. Grandchildren; James Storey, Chare' Storey Drake. Great Grandchildren; Landon Storey, Mistey Moseley, Shelby Styron, Jamie Storey, Tyler Drake, Blaze Drake, Conner Drake.Serving as pallbearers are James Storey, Harvey Drake Jr, Tyler Drake, Tyler Budro, Trevor Budro and Ross Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are C.D. Fregia, Tommy Fregia, Landon Storey, Jamie Storey, Donald Taylor and Walter "Buug" Bourgeois.

Davis

Willie Ray Davis, age 73 of Bastrop, formerly of Liberty died on January 20, 2013 in Bastrop, TX.

Willie was born October 9, 1938 in Liberty, son of the late Willie Davis and Chessie Worthy Davis. He attended Liberty High School and graduated in 1957. He was self-employed as an electrician and lived in Liberty for seventy-one years before moving to Bastrop. Willie loved to cook, garden and also loved his cows. He was a volunteer for TVE for twenty plus years.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Kenneth Davis and Lionell Davis.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife of fifty-one years; Kathleen Davis of Bastrop, sons; Randy Tatum and wife Angela of Liberty, Wes Davis and wife Becca of Bastrop, grandchildren; Brandon Davis, Justin Davis, James Palmore, Lani Davis, Tia Tatum and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services for Willie Ray Davis will be Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 10am at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX with burial to follow at Worthy cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm at Allison Funeral Service.

Haynes

Joe D. Haynes, 84 of Anahuac, Texas, died Saturday, January 19, 2012 at the Arboretum of Winnie.

Born to Joe L. and Lillian Haynes on July 26, 1928 in Combes, Texas. Joe worked over 25 years as a tugboat captain, for several different companies, he spent his spare time fishing and hunting and enjoying the outdoors as much as possible.

Preceding Joe in death, his parents, brother, Clen Haynes and son, Darrell Haynes. His survivors are his son, Joe Laurence Haynes and wife, Dayna of Anahuac, sisters Lois White of San Antonio, and Odean Haynes of San Antonio, step-son Clint Moss and wife, Landis of Anahuac, step-daughters Carolyn D’Arcy and husband, Bruce of Anahuac, Pam Gresham and husband, Ron of Anahuac. He had five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren and several other family members and friends.

Services provided by Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac, Texas

Robinson

Dr. Walter E. “Ed” Robinson, DVM, 71, of Fort Worth died Thursday, January 17, 2013.

He was born in Liberty, Texas to parents Woodrow Richard "Dick" and Blanche Page Robinson and was a longtime resident of Beaumont. He attended South Park High School where he was a proud running back for the Greens, graduating in 1959. Ed continued his education at Lamar Tech and coached at Port Neches Groves. He then attended Texas A & M where he received his Veterinary of Science and Doctorate of Veterinary degrees. Returning to Liberty Dr. Robinson opened the Liberty Veterinary Clinic later moving to the Huffman and Atascocita area where he practiced until 1995. During the past 10 years he worked in Harlingen and Colorado before his retirement. Colorado was his place. Golf was his game. Dogs were his love.

Services for Dr. Robinson will be 10:00 a.m., Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Cameron King officiating. Interment will follow at Heirlawn cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service on Sunday morning.

Dr. Robinson was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his mother: Blanche Robinson of Dayton; his wife: Nan Moore Robinson of Fort Worth; his son: David Edward Robinson and wife Melanie of Leander; his daughter: Melissa Carol Robinson of Benbrook; Balin and Chase Robinson of Leander; the mother of his children: Janice Earnest Robinson of Fort Worth; also numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Houston

Bobby Joe Houston, 70, of Dayton, died Friday, January 11, 2013, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Bobby was born January 2, 1943 in Hope, AR, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Dayton for the past 21 years. He was a graduate of the Sam Houston High School, attended the University of Houston, a former employee of Brown & Root/Austin and Dayton Electric, and a member of the Kenefick Southern Baptist Church. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, woodworking, and spending time with his family.

Mr. Houston was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years: Sandra J. Houston, parents: Betty Houston Cogdell and Ronald, brother: Jimmy Biddle, and grandmother: Edith Houston. He is survived by his daughters: Samantha Collinsworth and husband Gene of Dayton, Sherry Polvadore and husband James of Wylie, and Stacy Rozell and husband Paul of Spring, brothers: Harlan Biddle and Wayne Biddle, grandchildren: Tony Topping, Bobby Topping and wife Kelly, Kaitlyn Collinsworth, Kimberly Collinsworth, Jessica Polvadore, Shelby Polvadore, Jacob Rozell, and Nicholas Rozell, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

McNeely

Billie Robert McNeely, 67, of Dayton, Texas died Friday Jan. 18, 2013 at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton with Reverends Bruce Lockett and Rob Sharp officiating. Burial services will follow at the Magnolia cemetery in Dayton. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday evening, Jan. 22, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Serving as pallbearers are Bubba Atkinson, Aaron Allisan, Brent Quinn, Jason Linet, Fred Barton, Billy Carol Holifield. Honorary pallbearer is Bruce Bratton.

Billie Robert McNeely was born November 28, 1945, in Vidor, Texas to Harold Scott and Donna Doretha McNeely.

He married his wife Billie Jean Barber on September 29, 1967 in Nederland, Texas. After 15 years in the United States Marine Corp, serving two tours in Vietnam, he became a longtime resident of Dayton. He worked as a machinist/owner of the Highlands Machine Shop family-owned business. He attended church faithfully at Church of the Living God in Dayton where his wife is the founder and pastor. Mr. McNeely enjoyed hunting, fishing, leather work, horse riding, rock tumbling, jewelry making, tending his plants, and playing with his three dogs; Shanti, Reba, and Peppé. He was a member of the 29 Palms, CA Posse, VFW, and American Legion, Post #512.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Harold Scott McNeely and Donna Doretha.
