Dorsey-Elliott

Bridget Pecolia Dorsey-Elliott, 42, was born August 02, 1970 in Liberty, Texas to Mr. Leon and Mrs. Betty Dorsey.

She was baptized at an early age at St. Miles Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. P.J. Walker, and later joined Turkey Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She served in many roles, such as Youth Director, Sunday School Teacher and Administrative Assistant to the Minister of Music until her death.

She attended school in the Liberty Independent School District and was a 1988 Graduate of Liberty High School. She later attended San Jacinto College and received her Cosmetology Certificate. She also attended Medvance and received her Pharmacy Tech Certificate and became State Certified. She was employed with Wal-Mart Distribution Center for nearly 5 years.

She was a member of Jewel #25 Order of the Eastern Star where she served as the Secretary, and also a member of the Esther Grand Chapter where she served as the Grand Secretary and the Grand Conductress.

She married Derwick Caldwell and to this union one child was born, Latoizia Derrica Shanae Caldwell. She later married Robert Elliott.

She was preceded in death by her father: Leon Dorsey, paternal grandparents: Roosevelt and Piccola Jackson, maternal grandparents: R.L. and Idella Douglas and numerous of Aunts and Uncles.

She leaves to cherish her memories daughter: Latoizia Caldwell of Liberty, TX., mother: Betty Dorsey of Ames, TX., brothers: Darryl Dorsey and Herman “Red” Gallien Jr. of Houston, TX., Roosevelt Boudreaux of Dayton, TX., and Kalyn Boudreaux o Houston, TX., sisters: LaFern Dorsey of Beaumont, TX., Schlanda Dorsey of Houston, TX. Great-Great Uncles: Ezekiel Williams of Nome, TX, and Willie Caldwell of Baytown, TX, Great-Great Aunt: Hazel Williams of Baytown, TX. Aunt: Bertha White (Modesto Jr.) of Double Bayou, TX., Louise Kenner of Beaumont, TX., Uncle: Adam Jackson of Beaumont, TX., Nephew: Rev. Terence Edwards of Liberty, TX., Great Nephews: Alondre Nolen, Marckise Nolen of Beaumont, TX., Niece: Tiffany Dorsey, Great Nieces: Toreia Nolen, Myiesha Nolen all of Beaumont, TX., Best Friend: Eureka P. Elzie of Liberty, TX., and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Jan. 05, 2013 at Turkey Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 1600 Wallisville Rd. Liberty Texas. Rev. A.K. Thomas, Pastor, Officiating. Visitation will begin at 9AM until funeral beginning at 11AM. Interment will be in Well’s cemetery located in Liberty.

Service entrusted to Proctor's Mortuary, 518 Miller St. Anahuac.

Strickland

Clifford L. “Slick” Strickland, 88, of Dayton, died Sunday, December 30, 2012, at the Liberty-Dayton Community Hospital in Liberty.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel and conclude in the chapel. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Slick was born October 11, 1924 in Reese, to parents; Jewel I. and Ting Tanner Strickland, and a Dayton resident of the past 65 years. He was a graduate of the Jacksonville High School, attended the Abilene Christian College, was a veteran of the US Army Air Force with service during WWII and the Texas Guard. Mr. Strickland was the owner of Strickland Welding, instrumental in the development and construction of many Dayton structures, and enjoyed his work, fishing, hunting, and travel.

Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by his parents: Jewel I. and Ting Tanner Strickland, wives: Winifred Anderson Strickland and Bobbie Strickland, and brother: James R. “Jigs” Strickland. He is survived by his children: Linda Mears and husband Paul of MD, Clifford L. Strickland, Jr. and wife Gloria of Jacksonville, Jim Strickland of Dayton, and John Strickland of Dayton, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Rehders

Dorothy Alice “Kitty” Rehders, 69 of Lampasas, TX died, December 30, 2012, in Austin, TX.

Alice was born in Houston, TX on January 6, 1943, daughter of Tommie Diehl Sr and Margaret Norris Diehl. She graduated from Liberty High School and continued on to receive an Associate’s Degree from Central Texas Collage in Killeen, TX. Alice was married to her beloved and devoted husband, Dennis Rehders on September 3, 2003 and was married for nine beautiful years.

Alice worked as an accountant for Miller Service Company for fifteen years. She enjoyed reading, gardening and being on the computer. She was also actively involved with Dennis in Sonrise Music Ministries where she sang as a duo with her husband and they performed a comedy routine together.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, sister; Arlene Davis and grandson; Zackery Miller. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, husband; Dennis Rehders of Lampasas, TX, son; Marshall Washburn and wife Korissa of Ecuador, daughter; Kimberly Stripling and husband Jim of Round Rock, TX, sisters; Lucy Ann Murphy and husband Jim of Houston, TX, Debbie Diehl of Spring, TX, brother; Tommy Diehl of Kountze, grandchildren; Amanda Miller, Jason Miller, Shelby Miller, Kiarra Washburn, Blake Washburn, Grant Washburn and host of nieces and nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX on Thursday, January 3, 2012 from 5pm to 8pm. The funeral service and celebration of life will be held at 10am on Friday, January 4, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church in Liberty, TX with Pastor Thomas Jeffers of Living Tree Baptist Church of Ingram, TX, Pastor Robert Pitts of Calvary Baptist Church in Liberty, TX, Pastor Terrell Harrison of Church of Eastland, Eastland, TX officiating. Burial will follow at the Norris Family Ground following the service at Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Allison Funeral Service.

Cloe

Merrill Lynn Cloe, age 69 of Liberty, died December 31, 2012 in Liberty, TX.

Merrill was born November 1, 1943 in Tahoka, TX, son of the late Edward Coe and Margaret Jones Coe. He graduated from Tahoka High School in 1962. He was an oil executive and a member of First Baptist Church in Liberty, TX.

Merrill was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Robert Cloe, Wayne Cloe and a nephew; Jayson Cloe. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of forty-six years; Karen Cloe, sons; Shannon Merrill Cloe and wife Janey of Troy, TX, Chad Cloe and wife Stacey of Houston, TX, brothers; Rick Cloe and wife Lena of Tahoka, TX, Roger Cloe and wife Patti of Canyon, TX, sister; Brenda Wright and husband Duane of Tulsa, OK, grandchildren: Barek Merrill Cloe, Andrew Clayton Cloe, Jacob Zain Cloe and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services for Merrill Lynn Cloe will be Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 10am at First Baptist Church in Liberty, TX with burial to follow at Cooke cemetery. Visitation will be held at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 5pm to 7pm.

Jackson

Mary Lou Jackson 80, of Baytown formerly of Anahuac died Dec. 25, 2012.

Services will be held Jan. 02, 2013 at First Missionary Baptist Church, Anahuac. Visitation will begin at 11AM until funeral beginning at 1PM. Interment will be in Jackson cemetery located in Double Bayou.

Mary was preceded in death by her Parents: Mr. Ourelien & Mrs. Mayea Edwards and Daughter: Roberta Lewis.

Mourning her departure, yet cherishing her memories are children: Lionel Jackson, Tommy Jackson and Warren Brenye. Siblings: Anna Fontenot (Benjamin), Ethel Lee Frank, Irene Davis (Felix), Geneva Hall, Barbara Jean Carter, Harry Lee Edwards (Emma), Gene Autry Edwards (Trudy) and George Lee Edwards (Shontal), Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Service entrusted to Proctor's Mortuary, 518 Miller St. Anahuac.

Tillman

Charles Franklin Tillman, 73, of Old River passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at his residence with his family by his side.

He was a loving husband, daddy, pawpaw, little pawpaw brother, and friend.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 31, 2012 at Old River Assembly of God under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Interment will follow in Palms Memorial Park. Military honors will be given at the cemetery. A gathering of Charles' family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the funeral home.

Charles was preceded in death by parents, Gilbert and Mae Tillman; sister, Shirley (Sissy) Dominguez. He retired from Gulf Oil as an Supervisor. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was an artist and well known Taxidermist. He ran the Tillman Deer Lease for over forty years. He was a Sunday School Teacher for 25 years and Board Member for 35 years at Old River Assembly of God. His greatest part of life was leading people to the Lord.

Charles is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jerry Tillman; daughters, Debra Kay Clanton and husband, Gary Wade, Gayle Tillman-Arnold and husband, Bruce, Jennifer Lea McLean and husband, Chad, Kathryn Denise Fugere and husband, John; sons, Charles Dwayne Tillman and wife, Hope; 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Newton and husband, Homer; brothers, Ronnie Earl Tillman and wife, Carol, Jimmy Ray Tillman and wife, Gloria; and a host of other family and friends.

Buchanan

Michael Ralph Buchanan, 30 of Dayton died Saturday, December 29, 2012 at his residence with his family by his side.

He was a loving son, grandson, nephew, uncle and friend.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at St. Stephens' Episcopal Church in Liberty under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Edward Buchanan; grandfather, Easton "Big Red" Buchanan, cousins, Lucas Hardmon, Kari Buchanan. Michael loved watching all sports, working on the computer and listening to music. Michael's biggest love was that of God. Michael also loved "OU Sooners".

Michael is survived mother, Loretta Figeac and husband, Gus; grandmothers, Theresa Patton, and Dorothy Buchanan; and a host of other family and friends.

Heath

Donald Earl Heath, 49 of Dayton died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center. He was a loving brother, nephew, uncle and friend.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Monday, December 10, 2012 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral home in Dayton. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Linda Masterson Heath; Donald was a past member of Westlake VFD. He loved playing video games and being with friends.

Donald is survived by his sister, Kelly Carr and husband, Michael Hayes; uncle, Phillip Masterson and wife, Brenda; aunt, Marsha Silva; nieces, Catherine Carr, Courtney Carr and nephew, Christopher Carr; three great nieces and nephews.

Chaplain

Tabbatha Simon Chaplain, 30 of Highlands died Monday, December 24, 2012. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter and friend.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 29, 2012 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery. A gathering of Tabbatha's family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, December 28th at the funeral home.

Tabbatha was a native of Pasadena and lived in Baytown for many years. She graduated from Sterling High School in 2001. She loved shopping and crafts. She was preceded in death by her uncle, Lester Simon and grandfather, Albert Berna.

Tabbatha is survived by her husband of seven years, Sergeant First Class (SFC) John Chaplain; daughters, Lydia and Aubrey; son, Ashton; Parents, Guy Simon Jr. and Dawn; sisters, Tiffanie Johnson, Samantha Meier, Heather Cooper, Megan Simon; grandparents, Guy Simon Sr. and Barbara, Linda Berna; mother-in-law, Terri Bissinger and husband, Larry, father-in-law, John Chaplain and wife, Stephanie; brother-in-law, Jeremiah Chaplain and wife, Samantha; and a host of other family and friends.

Leonard

Cyril Clarence Leonard Jr., 90, of Huffman passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012 in Odyssey Hospital. He was a loving husband, father, pawpaw, great-pawpaw and friend.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, December 31, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Huffman. Interment will follow in Huffman cemetery. Masonic and Military honors will be given at the cemetery.

Cyril was a member of First Baptist Church of Huffman. He also was a Mason for over fifty years.

Cyril is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jerry Leonard; daughter, Cheryl Schanen; son, Thomas Kyle Leonard and wife, Lilia; granddaughters, Gabriella, Bety, and Citlali; grandsons, Adam, and Philip; great-granddaughter, Lilly, and a host of other family and friends.

Beck

Kay Brown Beck, 59 of Hankamer died Friday, December 21, 2012 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Local visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 29th at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Lacon, Al. under the direction Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle, AL. Interment will follow in Eva Community cemetery. A gathering of Kay's family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, December 28th at Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle, AL.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Columbus and Ruby Brown, son, William Beck, brother, Jimmie Brown. She was owner of Beck Bulk Transport. She loved baking, shopping and being with family.

Kay is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jerry Beck; daughters, Jennifer Beck, Jerry Lynn Garcia; sons, John Beck, Jason Beck, Jimmy Beck and wife, LaDonna; sisters, Loria Hartman and husband, Clyde, Edna Mcintosh and husband, Ray; grandchildren, Dalton Beck, Sean Estes, Nolan Estes, Lauren Beck; and a host of other family and friends.

Fereday

Eugenia Shaw Fereday, 59 of Anahuac died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, January 4, 2013 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her mother, Audrey Shaw. She loved walking her dogs and being with family.

Jeanie is survived by her father, Milton Shaw; daughter, Samantha Bond and husband, DiDier Fort; sons, Trent Fereday and wife, Medeja, Travis Fereday and wife, Veronica; grandchildren, Tori Fereday, Thana Fereday, Alexa Fort, Keegan Fort; brother, Bowen Shaw; and a host of other family and friends.

Ables

Frank Ables, 79 of Dayton died on Sunday, December 23, 2012 in San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown with his family by his side. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather.

Local services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Frank was preceded in death by his son, Darrell Ables. Frank was the owner and operator of Star Foundations. He loved the river and reading.

Frank is survived by his wife, of 58 years, Wendy Ables; son, Rick Ables; grandsons, Stephen, Justin, and Patrick Abels and a host of other family and friends.

Thomae

Thelma Lee Neel Thomae, 86 of Dayton passed away on Monday, December 24, 2012 at Methodist Hospital in Houston with her family by her side.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 28, 2012 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Interment will follow in Magnolia cemetery in Dayton. A gathering of Thelma's family and friends will be from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, B.E. Thomae; sister, Frances Haigler; brother, Lloyd Neel. Thelma worked for many years for Crosby ISD. She loved fishing, her favorite dog and best friend, "Sugar". She was of the Methodist Faith.

Thelma is survived by her daughters, Barbara Janacek and husband, Buddy, Carolyn Howard and husband, Rick, Pawnee Alongi and husband, Charles; sons, Eddie Thomae and wife, Mary, Joe Thomae and wife Dianna, Elton Thomae and Allee; grandchildren, Gerin, Karin, Russell, Shanna, Brianne, Emily, Christopher, Brandy, Damien, Reece, Haylee, Nicholas, Khelsey, Ashley, Jace; great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Sawyer, Casey, Kalyn, Colton, Cody, Brandon, Isabelle; great-great grandchildren, Chet, and Jazlynn; and a host of other family and friends.
