Edna E. Terrell

Services for Edna E. Terrell, 100, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bailey & Foster with the Rev. Larry Krohn officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery.
Miss Terrell died Wednesday at Cartmell Home for Aged.
She was born Sept. 28, 1901, in the Elmwood community in Anderson County to Robert Perry Terrell and Florence Tippen Terrell.
Miss Terrell was a member of First United Methodist Church of Brushy Creek, Harvey Women’s Club and Retired Teachers Association. She retired June 2, 1967 from Alamo Elementary School where she had taught first grade since 1929, with the exception of one year when she worked for the War Department in military Intelligence during World War II (1942-43).
She taught school for 37 years in Palestine under three different superintendents. Her first teaching position was at Pert and she also taught in Elmwood. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1933, and her Master of Education degree in 1957 from Sam Houston State University. She also studied in the summers at  Texas University, Peabody College, Southern Methodist University and George  Washington College. She was honored by the Kiwanians Club in 1958 as teacher of the month. She also held membership in National Education Association,  Texas State Teachers Association, and a life member of the PTA.
Miss Terrell was preceded in death by sisters, Florence “Dollie” Lucas, Leta Wester and Lillah Mitchell; brothers, Almon Terrell, Olan Terrell and Marvin Terrell.
She is survived by nieces, Maxine Hampton, Mary Cheshier, Tammy Cheshier and Debbie Lucas, all of Elmwood; nephews, Jimmy Lucas and Ben Mitchell of Elmwood and Randy Lucas of Palestine.
Pallbearers will be Michael Cheshier, Steve Campbell, David Campbell, Randy Lucas, David Terrell and Jerry Terrell.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at a funeral home.

Joe Holliman Starling Jr.

Services for Joe Holliman Starling Jr., 30, of Jacksonville, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sweet Union Baptist Church with Freddie Bush and the Revs. Julius Session, Robert Christopher, Dwight Rivers and O. Verdell officiating. Burial will be in Blackjack Community Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Home.
Mr. Starling died Wednesday morning in an auto accident.
He was born March 28, 1972 in Jacksonville. He was a 1990 graduate of Jacksonville High School. He was employed with the  Texas Department of Criminal Justice at the Coffield Unit.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Mr. Starling is survived by his grandmother, Minnie Starling of Jacksonville; son, Quadrea Montrell Starling of Jacksonville; daughter, Khiana Starling of Jacksonville; brother, David Curley of Lewisville; and sister, Regina Starling of Lewisville.
Pallbearers will be TDCJ officers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lorenze McCullough, Darvin Deckard, Mickey Lacy, Michael Rusk, Willie Deckard and Chris Rivers.

Linda Lee Dillard Blocker

Services for Linda Lee Dillard Blocker, 50, of Flo, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Blocker’s residence in Flo.
Mrs. Blocker died Nov. 9 at her residence. She was cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
She was born Jan. 17, 1951, in Houston, to Jack D. and Doris Edwards Dillard.
Mrs. Blocker was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Dick Blocker; two brothers and one daughter.
She is survived by daughter, Kathy Peikert; stepdaughters, Mollie Blocker of Elkhart and Kim Blocker of Oakwood; stepsons, Robert Blocker, Jimmy Blocker and Christopher Lee Blocker, all of Oakwood; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mable Lee Adams

Services for Mable Lee Adams, 71, of Joshua, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Burlison. Burial will follow in Caddo Cemetery.
Mrs. Adams died Sunday at a Fort Worth hospice house.
She was born Oct. 23, 1931, in Rotan to Homer and Winnie Munday Bostic.
Mrs. Adams was a 1951 graduate of Davy Crockett High School in Palestine. She was employed by Alcon Laboratories for 18 years prior to her retirement in 1995.
She is survived by her husband, Robert C. Adams of Joshua; son, Jimmy R. Adams of Joshua; daughters, Patricia Markham of Joshua and Terri Duke of Cleburne; brother, Buford Bostic of Denison; sisters, Inez Boren of Channelview and Ruth Wilmoth of Midland; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

William Carl Murdock

Services for William Carl Murdock, 95, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Guiceland Cemetery in Anderson County. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Murdock died Sunday.
He was born Aug. 21, 1907, in Anderson County.
Mr. Murdock was educated at Sam Houston State University and received his master’s degree at  Texas Christian University. He served as a teacher, principal and school administrator. Tenures of service included 16 years in Navarro County, six years at the State Home in Coriscana, four years at the Buckner Home in Dallas and 19 years in northeast Houston. He retired in 1973 after serving 44 years and resided in Waco.
He was preceded in death b y his wife of 50 years, Mattie Lou “Nonie” Burks Murdock, in 1982.
Mr. Murdock is survived by his daughter, Jane Weatherford of Waco; sisters, Ruth Alsobrook of Galena Park and Audrey Haggerty of Clinton, Utah; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stillwell Retirement Residence in Waco.

Arnold “Hank” Ray

Services for Arnold “Hank” Ray, 72, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Revs. Bill Sheffield and Dean Easterling officiating. Burial will follow in Chambers Cemetery.
Mr. Ray died Sunday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 18, 1930, in Palestine to James Coleman and Lottie Stewart Ray.
Mr. Ray was a member of Walston Springs Baptist Church where he served as church treasurer and was a deacon for 40 years. He was a carman for Union Pacific and worked in the shops for 42 years. He also served on the Elkhart school board from 1974 through 1983. He was a former member of the Elkhart Farmer Co-op board and Walston Springs Water Supply board. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Norman Ray.
Mr. Ray is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joyce Davis Ray of Palestine; daughter, Lesa Martin of  Whitehouse; sister, Virginia Walker of Palestine; brothers, C.P. Ray of Denson Springs, Wayne Davis of Jacksonville, Dub Davis and Larry Davis, both of Palestine; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Terry Walker, Randy Walker, Kevin Davis, Phillip Davis, Bryson Bean and Lane Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Heath Martin and Zachary Martin.
Condolence calls will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Doyle Jackson

Funeral arrangements for Doyle Jackson, 94, of Palestine, are pending at Emanuel Funeral Home, Palestine.
Mr.  Jackson died Sunday night at Dogwood Trails Nursing Home.

Fred Charles Sweetman

Services for Fred Charles Sweetman, 70, of Pensacola, Fla., and formerly of Palestine, were held Jan. 4 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home in Pensacola.
Mr. Sweetman was cremated. He was laid to rest at Fort Brangus Cemetery at the naval base in Pensacola.
He died Dec. 31.
Mr. Sweetman was born April 15, 1932 to American parents in Paris, France.
He spent 24 years in the Security Service of the U.S. Air Force. After retirement, he went to Pensacola Junior College in 1974. He obtained a Bachelor of Theology degree in 1977 at Liberty College in Pensacola.
Mr. Sweetman was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Betty Yallelus.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cynthia Sweetman; son, Ted Sweetman of Palestine; daughters, Dian Powell of Tusclousa, Ala. and Crystal Brown of Daphne, Ala.; brother, John C. Sweetman; sisters, Joan Lembo and Linda Berman; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Donna Constabile

Services for Donna Constabile, 52, of Buffalo, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home in Buffalo with the Rev. Dale Olstein officiating. Another service and burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ringling Cemetery in Ringling, Okla.
Ms. Constabile died Saturday in Tyler.
She was born Oct. 29, 1950, in  Oklahoma City.
Ms. Constabile was a lifelong resident of Buffalo. She was self-employed and a Southern Baptist.
She is survived by her father, Billy Jack Barnes, and stepmother, Wilma, of Ringling; mother, Peggy  Jones of Buffalo; daughter, Rebecca Constabile of Buffalo; brother, Gary Allen of  Oklahoma; sisters, Katherine Faulkner, Daphne Herrington and Rhonda Barnes, all of Ringling.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Box, Johnny Wilson, Larry Johnson, Buddy Spikes, James Stanton and Charlie Waters.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Theora Brown

Services for Theora Brown, 84, of Grapeland, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Grapeland with the Revs. David Bradley and Kennith Mobley officiating. Burial will follow in Parker Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Grapeland.
Mrs. Brown died Sunday afternoon at Palestine Regional Medical Center. She was born Nov. 2, 1918 in Grapeland to John Ilai and Soleta Elizabeth Walling Bean.
Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and worked for Bob McDougal Sewing Machine Co. in Houston until 1974 when she retired and moved to Grapeland.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grapeland and the Naomi Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Brown in 1988; four sisters, Beatrice Willis Steadman, Eelyn Ansy McDougall Pritchett, Melba Musick and Ineta Bean.
She is survived by a daughter, Theresa Larsen of Grapeland; son, Ralph E. Brown of Houston; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Lynn Bean, Robert Bean, Joe Musick, Larry Musick, Marion Willis and Doug Welch.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lottie M. Petty

Services for Lottie M. Petty, 89, of Rusk, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Dr. Barry Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Fields Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Petty died Monday morning at Red River Health Care Center in Bogata.
She was born March 13, 1913 in Mabank to James Cullen and Annie Laura Norms Baker.
Mrs. Petty was a seamstress for Sweet Manufacturing Company in Dallas. She retired in May 1970 with 26 years of service. She was a Pentecostal and member of the Rebekah Lodge in Dallas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Petty; a sister, Edna Leona Buster; and a brother, Cliff Baker.
Mrs. Petty is survived by a daughter, Patsy R. Wright of Rusk.
Condolences will be received from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral Wednesday at the funeral home.

Jeanne Seagler

Funeral arrangements for Jeanne Seagler, 74, of Palestine are pending at Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Seagler died Tuesday at Home Place in Tyler.

Rolanda LaShelle Johnson

Services for Rolanda LaShelle  Johnson of Houston are pending at Emanuel Funeral Home, Crockett.
Ms.  Johnson died Monday night in Galveston at University of  Texas Medical Branch.

Larry B. Johnson

Services for Larry B.  Johnson will be at noon Saturday at Andrew Chapel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Oakwood City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home.
Mr.  Johnson died March 6 in Galveston at University of  Texas Medical Branch.

Lynn Brown

Funeral arrangements for Lynn Brown of Tennessee Colony are pending at Emanuel Funeral Home.
Mr. Brown died Monday in Dallas.
