Fitzgerald

Jimmy Lee Fitzgerald, 66, of Anahuac died on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

He was a loving brother, uncle, great-uncle and friend.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 30, 2012 in Jackson cemetery under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. A gathering of Jimmy's family and friends will be Thursday, November 29th from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Jimmy was a rice farmer and cattle rancher for many years in Chambers County. He loved hunting, fishing, reading and being with family.

Jimmy is survived by his brother, Steve Fitzgerald and wife, Patti; sisters, Carlene Egloff, Debbie Nelson and husband, Don; nephews, nieces and great-nieces and a host of other family and friends.

Cox

Adrienne Nicole Fraley Cox, infant daughter of Courtney Fraley and William Cox. She was a loving daughter, granddaughter and great-granddaughter. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Adrienne is survived by her parents; grandparents, Deborah Fraley, Cynthia Ivey, Karen Cox, Mike Fraley and wife, Marcia, Bill Cox and wife, Debbie; great-grandparent, Barbara Hollister Avery and Mary Fraley; aunts, Heather Fraley and husband Andy Cantu, Nina Johnston, Kaitlyn Carney; uncles, Mackenzie Ivey, Christian Carney, Nathan Bechstein; great uncle, David Hollister and wife, Carrie; cousin, Olivia Hollister; and a host of other family and friends.

Simmons

Thelma Lee Simmons, 86, of Willis died on Sunday, November 25, 2012 in Conroe, TX following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac.

Interment will follow in Anahauc cemetery. A gathering of Thelma's family and friends will be Tuesday, November 27th from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac.

Thelma was born November 17, 1926 in Batson, TX. She loved cooking and sewing and being with family. Thelma lived a long full life; she was a hard worker who also enjoyed her family and friends very much.

When the family gathered for events such as Thanksgiving or Christmas she was ecstatic. She loved to gather all her brood and hear everything that had been happing.

She remembered everyone's birthday up until the day she died. Thelma was a member of Mims Baptist Church in Conroe. She retired from Capro Manufacturing at the age of 75 and later wished she had kept working.

Thelma was well loved and during her final illness she was under constant vigilance by her family members. Thelma is survived by her sister, Melissa Davis of Winnie; daughters, Linda Northlich and husband, John, Paula Elledge, Sue Crawford and husband, Jesse, Mattie Pennington and husband, Carlos, Pattie Hite and husband, Chester; sons, Robert and Sam Simmons; 21 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Williams

Danny Frank Williams age 78 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday November 27, 2012 in Liberty.

Danny was born April 1, 1934 in Aberdeen, South Dakota the son of the late Leo Hogan Williams and Agnes Kirchgasler Williams. He served in the US Marines during the Korean Conflict where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He retired from Exxon after twenty-five years of service working in Air Quality Control.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a brother. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of forty-eight years Merle Williams of Dayton.

A funeral service for Danny will be held 10AM Thursday November 29, 2012 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas 77575. Burial will follow in Fairlawn cemetery, Liberty, Texas.

Bass

John Bass, 64, of Dayton, died Sunday, November 25, 2012, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 29, 2012, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel and conclude thereafter. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

John was born November 12, 1948 in St. Cloud, FL, to parents; John E. Bass, Sr. and Doris Horne, a former resident of Pasadena, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 23 years.

He was a graduate of the St. Cloud High School class of 1967, a valve repair salesman for DMC Carter Chamber of LaPorte, and member of the New Life Church.

He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, and doing tractor work.

Mr. Bass was preceded in death by his father: John E. Bass, Sr., mother: Doris Horne Hoffman, brothers: Ivy E. “Toadie” Bass and Lloyd “Doug” Bass, and sisters: Doris “Sue” Bennett and Francis A. “Frankie” Davidson.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years: JoAnne McWilliams Bass of Dayton, daughters: Sherry Payne and husband Ben of Dayton and Cindy Bargas and husband Pete, Jr. of Dayton, sister: Margaret Feller of FL, grandchildren: Paeten and Makenna Bargas and Matthew and Steven Payne, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Wood

Thomas Lemuel "Tom Tom" Wood 47 of Saratoga, died Friday November 23, 2012 at his residence.

A service of remembrance will be held Wedenesday November 28, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Saratoga, with Reverend Frank Aragon officiating, Interment will follow at The Crawford cemetery also in Saratoga.

The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday November 27, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the church. A native of Liberty he had lived in Saratoga for most of his life and was a Operator for Crisman Construction of Batson. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Franklin Wood and Mary Jean Crawford. He is survived by his wife Wendy Wood of Saratoga, daughter Kassandra "Cassie" Wood of Mt. Enterprise, stepson Jason Fregia of Hull, and Christopher Fregia of Hull. Aunts Sherry Farr and husband "JB" of Saratoga, Wanda Robbins of Daisetta, and Katy Walshak of Houston. Serving as pallbearers are Lonnie Budro, David McMichael, Kevil Walshak, Jason Fregia, Christopher Fregia, and George Scott." TOM TOM" will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him very much. Service of remembrance under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105E. Batson, Texas 77519 locally owned and operated by local people you know and trust.

Goodin

Leonard C. Goodin age 75 died in Houston, on November 4, 2012. Leonard was born in Olathe, Kansas, on May 16, 1937, the son of the late J.R. Goodin and Violet Jordan Goodin Wolfe.

Leonard was raised on a farm and enjoyed raising horses. He was a graduate of Easton High School and was a graduate of Highland College in Highland, Kansas. He worked for many years as a Long Term Care Administrator his career took him from Kansas, Mississippi, Memphis, and Houston, finally to Liberty where he spent fifteen years at Magnolia Place. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a daughter Lyn Ann Collins. He leaves behind to cherish his memory a wife of forty-two years Sharon Goodin of Liberty, sons, Russell Goodin of Haines, Alaska and Jon Goodin and wife Alison of Needville, TX and a sister Darlene Wagner of Aurora, Texas, three grandchildren, Jason M. Collins of Overland Park, KS, Troy J. Collins of Norway and Jessica L. Goodin of Cordova, TN, and one great-granddaughter and five nephews. Cremation services were entrusted to Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. A Memorial Service was held on November 16, 2012 at Rollins Funeral Home, in Platte City, MO.

Inurnment was in Platte City cemetery.

Burnett

Herman Lee Burnett, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at his residence in Liberty.

Herman was born on March 25, 1923 in Hull, TX, son of Dan Burnett and Dicie Doucett Burnett. He attended Hull-Daisetta High school where he graduated in 1941. Herman entered into the Air Force-Army in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1946 with the rank of Sergeant. He was an engineering technician for Exxon for thirty-seven years before retiring. Herman loved being outdoors, as well as fishing, hunting and painting. He will be greatly missed by all of his friends. Herman was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Jewell Woods, brothers; Ray C. Burnett, Virgil Burnett and Bernie Burnett. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, sons; Richard Burnett of California, Ray Burnett and wife Sandra of Liberty, Clifford Burnett and wife Jacque of Crystal Beach, daughter; Anita Burnett Lavallee and husband Paul of Spicewood, TX, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services for Herman Lee Burnett will be Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 2pm at Batson Prairie Baptist Church with burial to follow at Guedry cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 28 from 5pm to 8pm in the chapel at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty.

Carraway

Sondra Jansen Carraway, 71 of Dayton died Friday, November 23, 2012 in Houston.

She was born October 19, 1941 in Dayton to parents Eugene “Pop” Jansen and Ruth Fingleman Jansen. Sondra grew up in Dayton and attended Dayton schools where she was a member of the DHS class of 1960. She was very talented and enjoyed painting, creating ceramics, and stained glass.

Sondra was a beautician owning her own shop and she also was a real estate agent. She and her husband of over 52 years traveled extensively throughout the world on short term mission trips and had recently served at a church in the Rio Grande Valley. Sondra was a member of the Ladies IV Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church in Dayton and had served as president of the Dayton Garden Club. Service for Mrs. Carraway will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gaylon Turner officiating. Visitation is Monday evening 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Magnolia Park cemetery. Shane Williams, Kraig King, Dave Perry, Ricky Blanchard, Fred Majors and George Holmes will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Carraway was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Ralph Jansen. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Lowell Jan Carraway of Dayton; her daughters: Sabra King of Dayton, and Rhonda Munoz and husband Freddy of Dayton; grandchildren: Shane Williams of Virginia, Erika King of Dayton, Sarah Blanchard and husband Ricky of Mont Belvieu, and Kraig King of Virginia; three great-grandchildren: Elijah Williams Ivy, Gavin Williams, and Carter Blanchard, also numerous other family members and friends.

Hall

Doris Jean Hall 65 of Kountze, Texas died Tuesday November 20. 2012 at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas of Beaumont.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday November 24, 2012 at 2; 00P.M At Faith & Family Funeral Services Chapel of Batson, with Reverend Rodney Weyler officiating, interment will follow at The Guedry cemetery of Batson. The family will be receiving friends also on Saturday November 24, 2012 from 11:00A.M. until time of service . A native of Wayne County Indiana she had lived in Kountze for most of her life and had worked for Hardin County as an administrator for Indigent Health care services. She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph Lee Hall and Flora Bell Thompson Hall, her husband Wilburn Hall, brothers Herbert Hall and Sherman Lewis. Sister Helen Liening and niece Edna Joyce Lewis.

She is survived by her Son Tommy Hall and wife Jennifer of Kountze, daughters Crystal Bagwell and husband Gary of Angleton, Brandie Sunday and husband Wesley of Silsbee, TX grandchildren are David Hall Desire Risinger, Dakotah Risinger, John Warren Bagwell, Wesley Majalca, Marcus Majalca, Blain Sunday, Cody Webb, Mathew Webb, Kayla Wright, Jacob Campbell, Stacey Bagwell Davis, Kymberly Bagwell, Kaylyn Bagwell Gary and numerous nieces nephews and a host of friends who loved her and will miss her very much.

Serving as pallbearers are Bryan Weyler, Rodney Weyler, David Hall, Wesley Majalca, Rusty Roth, and Bud Alford. Service of remembrance under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105E. Batson, Texas 77519

Strang

Richard Joseph “Ricky” Strang, 54, of Dayton, died on Friday, November 23, 2012 in Baytown, Texas.

He was born December 24, 1957 in Baytown, Texas to parents Earl Dean and Emila Montameyer Strang. Mr. Strang was a former resident of Katy, Texas. Ricky had lived in Dayton since 1975, where he was a senior member of the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department. Ricky was a member of Grace Community Church in Liberty where he was involved with many church activities. Ricky was a heavy equipment operator for Liberty County. Mr. Strang was also a volunteer for the Trinity Valley Exposition. He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle and spending time at the beach. Ricky will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Services for Ricky Strang will be Monday, November 26, 2012 at 2:00, p.m., at Pace Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton, Texas, with Reverend Harvey Abke officiating. Interment will be at Cook cemetery in Liberty. Pallbearers are Terry Boyett, Murphy Green, David Taylor, Jason Payne, Glen Addington and Bobby Glatfelter. Dayton Volunteer Fire Dept. and Liberty County Precinct 4 employees will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Pace Stancil in Dayton, Texas.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Sherry Strang.

He is survived by, his wife: Stacy Worthy of Mont Belvieu; Beloved dog: Tito; daughter: Ashley Worthy of Huntsville; brothers: Harold D. Strang and wife Janet of Abbeyville, LA. and Andrew Strang and wife Debbie of Daisetta; sisters: Debra Strang of Houston, Grace Rawls and husband Robert of Dayton and Edith and husband Richard of Giddings; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department.

Haltom

Barbara Kay Starkey Haltom, 63, of Dayton died Wednesday, November 14, 2012, in Houston, Texas.

Barbara was born July 19, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana to parents, Richard Lee Starkey and Evelyn Catherine Cramer Starkey. She had been a resident of Dayton for over 37 years where she and her husband Tony raised their family. Barbara was a graduate of the Jesse Jones High School class of 1967 and worked for the United States Postal Service for over 38 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed being with her family, was a selfless, caring person who always put others’ needs ahead of her own. Her positive attitude and strength was an inspiration to many.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother: Betty Ann Starkey and husband Tony Haltom. She is survived by her children: Richard Haltom of Dayton; Amy Moreau and husband Gary of Dayton; Allen Haltom of Dayton; her grandchildren: Emma Haltom, Kindal Moreau, Aubrey, Covin, & Harper Carroll; sisters: Sandy Louviere of Dayton, Marie Reeves of Conroe, Taunya Offdenkamp of Upton, Wyoming, Mikki Gray of Haugan, Montana; brothers: Edward Starkey of Houston and Terry Ammon of Metter, Georgia; her mother-in-law: Marie Haltom of Crosby; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Barbara’s Life will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, November 19, 2012, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, or charity of choice.

“I have finished my work, I now take my rest. Don’t weep for me, The Lord knows best. If anyone should ask of my whereabouts, tell them I am resting in my Father’s House.”

Melonson

Memorial Services for Martha Lee Edwards Melonson, 79, of Liberty, Texas will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, Ames, Texas with the Reverend Father Ikeokwu Nduh, M.S.P. Pastor celebrant. Rosary at 9:00 a.m. Under the direction of Wells Funeral Services, Liberty, Texas.

Martha was born to Inez (Davis) Edwards and Jake Edwards on January 30, 1933 in Liberty, Texas. As a high school student she spent two years in Japan with her brother and his family. Upon returning she attended West Liberty High School. She also spent two years at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas.

Martha married Timothy Melonson on October 30, 1950 and to this union five children were born. She was dedicated member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Ames.

She co-owned and managed the Leetim’s Building Supply as well as the Shaggy Dog Tavern. The name Leetim’s incorporated her middle name Lee and her husband’s first name Tim.

Martha was a devoted housewife, mother and managed two businesses successfully.

She is survived b her husband, Timothy Melonson and their children: Yolanda Ozan (Woodrow), Timothy Melonson, Jr., Everett Melonson, Darren Melonson and Damon Melonson (Hunica). Seven grandchildren – Tameka, Timothy III, Romona, Everett Jr., Deitra, Jessica and Damon, Jr.. Eleven great-grandchildren. And one sister Dorothy Harold. A host of relatives and friends.

Barringer

Faye Marie Barringer 85 of Batson, TX and also of Liberty, died Saturday November 17, 2012 at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texasof Beaumont .

A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday November 20, 2012 at 10:00A.M. at the graveside at The Guedry cemetery of Batson. A native of Sour Lake, TX she had lived in Batson most of her life and had worked as a Hotel Clerk and was a member of the Batson, Prairie Baptist Church of Batson. She was preceded in death by her brother Orval Warren, sister-in- law Gladys Sissy Warren and also her parents Johnny Warren and Velma Matthews. Survivors are nieces Tammy Tousha and husband Chester of Batson, TX Kathy Craft and husband Art of Lyles TN, great nieces Jana Wells Acy of Lyles TN, Jodi Wells Heflin, Che' Tousha of San Antonio, TX. Great nephews Josh Tousha of Batson, TX Rusty Wells of Austin, TX Greg Tousha of Liberty, TX and other nieces, nephews and friends. Service of remembrance under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105E. Batson, Texas 77519.
