Liddell

Margie Hylton Liddell, 85, of Liberty died Sunday, September 30, 2012 after an extended illness.

She was born June 23, 1927 in Liberty, Texas to parents V.R. Hylton, Sr., and Fay Anderson Hylton. Mrs. Liddell graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and attended Southwestern Bible College. She enjoyed painting, was a very accomplished pianist and most of all loved her family. Margie and her husband Bob retired to Liberty after living all around the world, building wonderful family memories.

Graveside services for Mrs. Liddell will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2012 at Worthy cemetery in Liberty, Texas. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 58 years, Robert “Bob” Liddell, daughter-in-law, Jeanie Liddell; sister, Liz Hylton and brother, Roy Hylton. Mrs. Liddell is survived by her daughter: M. Alayne Clancy of Hammond, Indiana; her son: R. Frank Liddell of Liberty; grandchildren: Kevin Clancy and wife Anya, Sarah Clancy Felton and Kerry, Jr., Hylton Liddell and Chasse, and Johnny Lowe; great-grandchildren: Natalie Garvey, Keagan Felton, Landon Liddell and Avery Liddell; sister: Lucille Tyler of Liberty; brother: V.R. Hylton, Jr. and wife Jean of Liberty; brother: Billy Hylton and wife Beverly of Liberty; special friend: Christine Rollins of Liberty; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

For those who desire memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the charity of your choice.

Donnell

Ora Lee Staton Donnell, 84, of Baytown, died Monday, October 1, 2012, at the Baytown Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Baytown.

She was looking forward to the day she would suffer no more pain; now that time has come to pass.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 4, 2012, at the Cook-Walden-Davis Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Berrys Creek cemetery in Georgetown. Visitation will be held at from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Cook-Walden-Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown.

Ora Lee was born January 21, 1928 in Liberty Hill, to parents; Sam and Ruth Jackson Staton, a former resident of Elgin, and has resided in Baytown for the past 40 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family, shopping, playing cards, and cooking her German chocolate cake and banana nut bread.

Mrs. Donnell was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Emory “Hock” Donnell, son: Jimmy Andrew Donnell, sisters: Ailene Menly, Ruby Davis, and Willie Sedberry, and brothers: Jake, Aire, Dee, Floyd, and Mark Staton. She is survived by her sons: Greg Donnell and wife Carol of Baytown and Randy Donnell and wife Rose of Crosby, daughter: Carolyn Donnell of Baytown, sister: Velma Parks of Austin, brother: Bob Staton of Austin, special grandson: Fred Cornelius, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family would like to thank Kindred Care Hospital, Dr. Hays, Baytown Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, and Pace-Stancil Funeral Home for the love and care provided to Ora Lee.

Davis

Helen J. “Grannie Jo” Davis, 79, of Thicket, TX, passed away Saturday September 29, 2012.

She was born in Fred, TX October 30, 1932. She has resided in Thicket for the last 32 years. She was a member of the First Assembly of God of Saratoga.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ike and Brownie Ferguson; son, Bobby Lane Davis; half sisters, Frankie Jordan, Nellie Kibee.

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Orville Davis of Thicket; son, Robert Ray Davis of Thicket; daughter, Denise Marcontell and husband Arnold of Thicket; brothers, James Ferguson and wife Cherry of Vidor, Earl Ferguson of Sam Rayburn; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Her family will receive friends at the First Assembly of God of Saratoga on Monday October 1, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A service of remembrance will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday October 2, 2012 at the First Assembly of God of Saratoga, officiated by Reverend Jeff Blizzard and Reverend Frank Aragon. Burial will follow at Felps cemetery in Thicket.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Faith and Family Funeral Services, 40847 HWY 105 E., Batson, TX, 77519, (936) 262-2100 or (936) 366-2222.

Adams

Milton "Dell" Adams, 59 of Houston died in Anahuac on September 17, 2012. He was a loving husband, father, and brother.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday October 6, 2012 at St Dunstan's Episcopal Church 14301 Stuebner Airline Rd, Houston, TX 77069.

Gonzales

Vincent Edward Gonzales II, 20, of Liberty, Texas died Wednesday September 26, 2012.

He was a hard working man. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing. He thought the world of his co-workers. He loved his family and he loved the adventures that life brought him.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bertha Sara Costello; grandfather, Hyson Swain.

He is survived by his father, Vincent Edward Gonzales and wife Tammy of Liberty, Texas; mother, Denise Morse and husband Sean of Zephyrhills, Florida; siblings, Ashli Michelle Kessinger of Beaumont, Texas, Darringer Gonzales of Oceanside, California; Emily Ann Gonzales of San Antonio, Texas; Cody Shae Gonzales of Bismarck, Arkansas; grandparents, Joseph and Brenda Gonzales of Bismarck, Arkansas, Ernie and Therese Lee of Copperas Cove, Texas, Doris Swain of Effie, Louisiana; nephews, Darringer Gonzales II, Aiden Kessinger; niece, Mariclys Velazquez.

A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Sunday September 30, 2012 at Faith and Family Funeral Service Chapel.

Anderson

Jerry “Jake” Falvey Anderson, age 81, of Liberty, Texas, died Monday, September 24, 2012 in Kingwood, Texas.

He was born July 09, 1931 in Coldspring, San Jacinto County, Texas to parents Warren Anderson and Minnie Larabee Anderson who preceded him in death along with several brothers and sisters. Mr. Anderson was a distinguished Veteran of the United States Army, he served from July 19, 1949 – April 04, 1953. Mr. Anderson loved the country life and his horses too. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and steadfast friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his loving wife Geraldine Anderson; sons Andy Anderson and wife Tresa, Michael Murphy and wife Amy; daughters Jeri Flurry and husband Casey; brother Chester Anderson; grandchildren Bryand, Amelia, Ben and Rachel Murphy, Erica Flurry, Mandy Street, and Selina Gilchriest; his special friend Bradly Hensley; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other cherished family members and treasured friends throughout the years.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 27, 2012, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Jerry Matthews and Bro. Jimmy Charles will preside over funeral services being held Friday, September 28, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel with interment following at Squier cemetery. Pallbearers include David Hunter, Garrett Street, J.D. Heard, Robert Martin, Mark Hill, and Chris Gilchriest; honorary pallbearers include J.W. Jackson, Gerald Lum and Robert Powell.

Wells

Norricerene Wells 80, of Daisetta, TX died Tuesday September 25, 2012 at The Liberty-Dayton Regional Medical Center of Liberty.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday September 29, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at The Daisetta United Pentecostal Church with Reverend Lonnie Jordan officiating, interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson. The family will be receiving friends on Friday September 28, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. also at the church. Serving as pallbearers are Craig Long, Cleve Bourque, Jerome Wells, Chip DeBarge, Marque Wallace, Zachary Wallace, Etan Wells, and Michael Wells.

She was born on December 23, 1931 to her parents Norris DeBarge and Walterine Brown DeBarge. She was a native and lifelong residence of Daisetta, and was a homemaker and a lifelong member of The Daisetta United Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Lee Wells, her parents Norris DeBarge and Walterine Brown, and sister Rachael Ferrell. Survivors are her sons Lynn Wells and wife Anita of Daisetta, James R. Wells and wife Paula of Kinder, LA; brother Sonny DeBarge and wife Joyce of Hull, TX; and sister Nancy Carroll and husband Billy of McKinney, TX. Grandchildren; Miranda Long and husband Craig of Pasadena, TX; MiKayla Bourque and husband Cleve of Port Neches, TX; Jerome Wells and wife Wendy of Daisetta, TX; Marque Wallace of Midland, TX; Justin Wallace of Okinawa, Japan; Zachary Wallace of Daisetta, TX; Ethan Wells, Alyssa Wells and Michael Wells all of Daisetta, TX. Great grandchildren; Kortlyn Wells, Alyson Wells, Madyson Wells, all of Daisetta and Cherish Long of Pasadena, TX.

Consuella Marie Hebert Hayes “Sue” died Sept. 23, 2012.

She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving husband of 44 yrs. Dale Sr., devoted son Darrell (Lisa), brother Lionel (Vera), extended family and friends.

Berryhill

Bennie Lee Berryhill 67 of Daisetta, Texas died Friday September 21. 2012 in Batson, Texas.

A service of remembrance will be held on Monday September 24, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at The First Baptist Church of Hull, Texas with Reverend Tolbert Hudspeth officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Dale cemetery in Daisetta. Serving as pallbearers are Garland Taylor, Mario Segovia, Tim Berryhill, Josh Fillingame, Curtis Johnson, Ross Morris. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday September 23, 2012 at Faith & Family Funeral Services Chapel from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Born on December 9, 1944 in Liberty, Texas to parents William John Berryhill and Katherine Taylor Berryhill Bennie had lived in Daisetta, Texas most of his life and was retired from Texas Gulf Sulphur Refinery and Shivers Oilfield Services and was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran.

He was preceded in death by his father William John Berryhill, and brother Paul Berryhill.

Survivors are his mother Katherine Taylor Berryhill of Daisetta, daughters Tina Berryhill Segovia and husband Mario of Huffman, Rena Joyce Berryhill of Batson. Brothers John Berryhill and wife Marilyn of White Oak, Texas Ken Berryhill of Beaumont, Texas Joseph Berryhill and wife Jane of Baytown, Texas. Sisters Alice Maresh and husband Richard of Ennis, Texas Bonnie Morris and husband Ross of LaPorte, Texas Renee Thrillkill and husband Rod of Clyde, Texas. Granddaughter Tara Segovia of Huffman, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Bennie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him very much.

Mintz

Gladys Mintz, age 90, of Liberty died on September 18, 2012 in Liberty.

Gladys was born in Coldsprings, TX on January 8, 1922, daughter of Edward Burley and Bertie Johnson. She attended Coldsprings High School where she graduated in 1940. Gladys worked for the Houston ISD where she was employed as a school clerk for twelve years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Women’s Mission Union. Gladys moved and lived in Fairfield, TX before moving to Liberty. She loved to cook, garden, and quilt and also loved crafting.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Draper D. Mintz Jr, grandson; Michael Ray Williamson, two sisters and one brother. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, sons; Bruce Mintz and wife Sonia of Liberty, Kenneth Williamson and wife Tina of LaGrange, step-son; David Mintz of Phoenix, AR, brothers; Howard Johnson of Houston, Dimmit Johnson and wife Josephine of Houston, grandchildren; Nicole McAdams and husband Greg, Ashley Williamson, Jennifer Mintz and Jake Mintz and one great-grandchild; Braxton McAdams.

Services for Gladys Mintz will be Monday, September 24, 2012 at 2pm at Heights Baptist Church in Liberty with burial to follow at Cooke cemetery. Visitation will be held at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX on Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 5pm to 8pm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave 7th floor, New York, NY, 10001.

Ballieu

Jimmie Gilley Ballieu, 72, of Dayton, died Thursday, September 20, 2012, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 21, 2012, at the Reeves cemetery in Old River with burial following thereafter. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Jimmie was born August 5, 1940 in Liberty to parents; William H. and Bertha Mae Cain Gilley, a former resident of Las Vegas, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past eight years. She was a homemaker, member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, and enjoyed sewing, cake decorating, reading, and gardening.

Mrs. Ballieu was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth Ballieu, son: Darrel Ballieu, father: William H. Gilley, mother: Bertha Mae Cain Gilley, brother: William “Petece” Gilley, and sister: Marcilene Dora Lightfoot. She is survived by her daughters: Sandy Miller and husband Don Franklin of Dayton, Mickie Loonam and husband Denis of Dayton, and Debbie May and husband Larry of Sweetwater, nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Alexander

Dorothy Mae Alexander, age 83, of Liberty went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2012 in Spring, TX.

Dorothy was born on August 3, 1929 in Hardin, TX, daughter of Clinton and Vinie Smith. She attended Liberty Training and was a housewife. Dorothy was a member of the Willing Women Workers and Courts of Calanthe. Dorothy loved her church and was the clerk at St. John’s Baptist Church for years. She was also president of the choir and women mission. She also was a deaconess in the church. Dorothy loved to sing and cook.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Elray Alexander, brother; George Smith, and sister; Gussie Smith. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, daughters; Diane Alexander of Houston, Daphaney Johnson of Houston, and Darlene Alexander of Houston, brothers; Samuel Smith of Liberty, and Arthur Smith of Liberty, grandchildren; Jakea Johnson and Alexis Jackson.

Services for Dorothy Mae Alexander will be at 11am Saturday, September 22, 2012 at St. John’s Baptist Church, 3709 North Main, Liberty under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX. Visitation will be two hours prior to service from 9am to 11am with burial to follow at Wells cemetery in Liberty.

Reinier

Jerry L. “Red Dog” Reinier, 52, of Dayton, died Friday, September 14, 2012, at his residence.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2012, at 3948 CR 133, in Liberty. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Jerry was born January 20, 1960 in Galveston, a former resident of Baytown, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 25 years. He was a former truck driver, welder, and oil field worker. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and his dog’s company.

Mr. Reinier was preceded in death by his wife: Elizabeth Reinier and sister: Kim Slaughter. He is survived by his children: Michael Reinier of Dayton, Justin Reinier of Baytown, Dustin Reinier of TN, David Reinier of Woodville, Candice Reinier Hayden of TN, Chenoa Stark of Beaumont, Charles Smith of the US Navy, and Charlie Bivens of Kountze, mother: Johnnie Roberson Kelley of Liberty, father: Julius Brock of Liberty, sister: Vickie Fatheree of Liberty, brother: Daniel Brock of LA, ten grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
