Willardine Burks age 65 died Tuesday, September 4, 2012, in Liberty.

Willardine was born in Liberty, November 1, 1946, the daughter of the late Daniel Webster Burks and Geraldine Majors Burks. Willardine enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed animals, traveling, shopping, and her time involved with the Special Olympics. She attended a work program in Beaumont at St. Giles Church assisting in various projects.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as a step-sister Mary Cox.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory a brother Danny Burks and wife Karen of Hardin, sister Linda Osteros and husband Larrie of Lampasas, Texas, five nieces and nephews, Jason Burks, Justin Burks, Kaitlin Burks, Tammie Davis and Beau Osteros. She will sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Willardine will be held Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas from 5-8PM. A funeral service will be held 10AM Friday, September 7, 2012 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Ryan cemetery.

McClellan

Sylvia L. McClellan, age 69 of Bandera, died September 1, 2012 in Bandera.

Sylvia was born on June 20, 1944 in Bay City, TX, daughter of Sylvis and Vinnie Flowers Long. She graduated from Liberty High School in 1963 and attended Sam Houston State University. She worked for the U.S. Postal service and retired with more than twenty years of service. Sylvia loved to read and sing.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her daughters; Venica Pruett and husband Robert from Thomaston, AL, Bethany Prevost and husband Keith of Huffman, Vicki Purin and husband Mark of LaPorte, nine grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Services for Sylvia L. McClellan will be Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 11:30am at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX with burial to follow at Fairlawn cemetery.

Watkins

Thomas Yewell Watkins 75 of Hull, Texas died Saturday September 1, 2012 at Fairy's Landing Personal Care Center of Hull.

Service of remembrance will be held Wednesday September 5, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Chapel with Reverend Bonnie Osteen officiating, interment will follow at the Guedry cemetery in Batson.

The family will be receiving friends also on Wednesday September 5, 2012 from 10:00A.M. until time of service.

Thomas was born February 28, 1937 in Russellville, Kentucky to parents Homer Watkins and Mabel Gertrude Murphy and had lived in Hull since 1987 and was a retired Truck Driver and a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons Bill and Curt Watkins, brother Curtis Watkins. Survivors are wife Mary Watkins of Hull, Stepfather Elmer Westray of Louisville, Kentucky son David Jenkins of Pasadena. Daughters Peggy Cole of Needsville Texas Robin Bozotta of North Carolina, Anita Moore and husband Mike of Santa, Fe Texas. Sister Phyllis Westray of West Port, Kentucky grandchildren fifteen, great grandchildren three. Pallbearers are Colt Moore, Clint Moore, George Eichelberger, Gerald Esthay, Jeff Tullar and Ronny Myers.

Ellis

Rebecca “Becky” Rose Crews Williams Ellis, 70 years died on Sunday, September 2, 2012 after a long battle with lung cancer.

Becky was born December 12, 1941 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to parents Rodney Ishmael Crews and Willie Cole Tidwell Crews. She moved to Houston, Texas in 1947, graduated from Galena Park High School in 1959, lived in Houston for 52 years and worked at Maxwell House Coffee for 30 years. Becky moved to Dayton in 1999, and was a member of the Kenefick Southern Baptist Church.

Becky enjoyed painting, and crocheting. Her main enjoyment of life was having her family and friends to spend time with and love. Her heart was filled and happy when they were all together on special holidays. There are no words to say the love she felt for her husband, children, family and friends.

Family and friends may pay their respects at viewing on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. A service for Celebration of her life will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton. Interment will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park, Houston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Rodney Laye Crews, and her husband of 25 years, Wade Thomas Williams on June 17, 1984. She is survived by her husband of 17 years: Mark Elmer Ellis, Sr.; two sons: Rodney “Tommy” Williams and wife Dawn of Dayton and Randall “Randy” Williams and fiancé Lisa of Dayton; her sister: Laura Bennett and husband George “Skip” Bennett of Dayton; three grandchildren: Nikki Williams Fitzgerald and husband Tyler of Anahuac, Austin Wade Williams of Dayton and Wade Lee Williams of Dayton; two great-granddaughters: Rylee Ann Fitzgerald and Aubree Nicole Williams; three step children: Lori Carbaugh of Morrison, IL, Mark Elmer Ellis, Jr. of Sterling, IL, and Jeff Dewitt Ellis of Rock Falls, IL; six step grandchildren and one step great grandson.

Harrison

Jo Ann Harrison, age 69 of Houston, died with her loving family by her side on August 30, 2012 in Houston, TX.

Jo Ann was born on May 15, 1943 in Biven, TX daughter of Walter J. and Cecil Seals. Jo Ann graduated from Liberty High School in 1961 and was a housewife. She was a twirler in high school and was a coach’s wife. She loved sewing and spending time with her grandchildren.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Russell Seals and Charles Leroy Seals. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband of forty-nine years; Robert “Bo” Harrison of Houston, daughter; Donna Lynn Nabers of Houston, son; Michael Douglas Harrison of Houston, brothers; Bill Seale and wife Evelyn of Arlington, Bobby Seals and wife Connie of Willis, Dwayne Seals of Tomball, sister; Carol Seals of Forth Worth, grandchildren; Lauren Scott Nabers, Kailey Anne Nabers, Jack Harrison Nabers and Samuel Scott Nabers, care giver; Diane Brackens. The family would like to thank Diane Brackens for faithfully taking care of Jo Ann for approximately the last ten years of her life.

Services for Jo Ann Harrison will be Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 11am at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX with burial to follow at Fairlawn cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, September 3, 2012 from 4pm to 7pm at Allison Funeral Service Chapel.

Henry

Bobby Ray Henry 63, of Tomball, died Aug 25, 2012.

Visitation will be Sept. 01, 2012 from 11AM until funeral 1PM at Lily of The Valley Church Of God In Christ, 1222 N. Main St. Anahuac, Rev. L. Walters, Pastor. Interment will be in Godfrey cemetery, Wallisville.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents: Earl and Dora Henry, siblings: Shirley Kirkwood and Zola Artis and 1 Grandchild.

Mourning his departure, yet cherishing his memories are spouse: Barbara Henry of Tomball, Children: Bobby Henry Jr. of Wallisville, Brian Henry of Tomball, Byron Kirkwood of Houston, and Dexter Durst of Tomball, Siblings: Earl Henry of Anahuac and Antoinette Holmes of Wallisville. Aunt V’Ella Perkins, 8-Grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Peveto

Dosia Peveto, 90. of Dayton died Thursday, August 30, 2012 in Liberty, Texas.

She was born October 4, 1921 in Louisiana and had lived in this area for over 60 years. Mrs. Peveto worked as a nurse for many years and she enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family.

Graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Magnolia Park cemetery under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

Mrs. Peveto was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alvin J. Peveto and all of her siblings. She is survived by her daughters: Jeanette Mifflin and husband James of Dayton and Helen Ripkowski of Dayton; her son: Bill Taylor and wife Cissi of New York; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild; also numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Johnson

Herman James "Bud" Johnson 80 of Batson, Texas died Thursday August 30, 2012 at Fairy's Landing Personal Care Center of Hull.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday September 1, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Guedry cemetery of Batson with Reverend Alvin Tomlinson officiating. The family will be receiving friends also on Saturday September 1, 2012 starting at 9:00 A.M.at Faith & Family Chapel until time of service.

Herman was born in Batson, Texas to Walter B. Johnson and Eda Amman. Herman was a Cattle Rancher and a member of First Baptist Church of Batson, and a 50 year Mason with the Masonic Lodge of Batson and also a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, also his sisters, Walterine Wolfington, and Loreice Anderson, and a brother Bill Johnson. Survivors are his daughters Carolyn Huerkamp of Hull, Cindy Johnson of Nederland, sisters Thelma Holloway of Willis, Texas and Lois Campbell of Onalaska. Grandson Chris McCallon of Beaumont.

Burnett

Eleanor Maxine Pickle Burnett age 97 died August 28, 2012.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Ray, her parents, Lola and Floyd Pickle, sister Jewel McNulty.

She is survived by her daughter Dolores Smith, daughter Norma Baughman and husband Ralph (Sonny), grandchildren Ricky Baughman and wife Debbie, Kamie West and husband Jimmy, David Smith and wife Laura, Julie Taylor and husband Andrew, great grandchildren Kristen Verbick husband Bobby, Kelsey Smith, Matthew Baughman, James Baughman, Mark Baughman, Austin Taylor, Tyler West, Hannah Taylor, sister Opal Caldwell of Virginia, niece Madeline Frank of Virginia, niece Judy and husband Bobby Hall of Anahuac.

Maxine was a wonderful Bible teacher. She would say she believed the Bible from the front cover to the last that said "genuine leather". She lived her faith completely, leaving a rare heritage for her children and grandchildren which she explained in a last letter describing the seasons of life. Maxine is laid to rest in Guidry cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at Memorial Baptist Church in Baytown Friday, August 31, 2012 at 10:30am.

Maxine's love of fun and endless loving heart will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to her church, Memorial Baptist.

Branch

Patricia Lee Branch, age 48, of Cleveland, Texas, died Monday, August 27, 2012 at Kingwood Medical Center.

She was born November 24, 1963 in San Diego, California to parents Robert William Stein and Billie Lynn Thomas who preceded her in death. Pat was a 1982 graduate of Tarkington High School; and self-employed hairdresser and business owner for 20+ years. Family gatherings were made tastier with her dishes because she loved to cook. She was a steadfast friend, a devoted wife, tireless mother, grandmother, and loving sister. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She will be remembered lovingly by her husband Tom Branch; daughter Jennifer Ramey and husband Tony; son David Lee King and wife Amanda; step-son Darin Branch and wife Mercedes; sister Karen Mann and husband Eddie; grandchildren Parker King, Zeb Ramey, Devin Branch, Leiah Branch, Kinnady Branch; nephews E.J. Mann and Steven Mann; niece Amanda Mann; and many friends through the years.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2012, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Pastor David Hilton will preside over funeral services being held Thursday, August 30, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel.

Treadway

Ashlyn Tilea Treadway age 23 died Saturday as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

Ashlyn was born in Beaumont, TX, January 21, 1989 the daughter of Leslie Charles Treadway and Rilea Wallace. Ashlyn was beautiful inside and out with a loving heart. She enjoyed singing, shopping, and riding four-wheelers. She loved animals of all types and always ended her conversations with, “I love you.” She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Ashlyn attended Beaumont schools the majority of her life and was home schooled in her final year.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother Rilea Wallace, father Leslie Treadway, sister Brea Treadway, brother Lathan Treadway and wife Kristin, maternal grandparents Rev. Jerrol and Glenda Wallace, maternal aunts and uncles Rev. Michael and Tamara Mahaney, and Derrick and Jessica Wallace. In addition she leaves her four cousins, Hunter, Kyler, and Mykal Mahaney, and Madison Wallace.

Visitation for Ashlyn will be held Thursday August 30, 2012 at Moss Hill Pentecostal Church from 5-8PM. Funeral services will be held 2PM Friday, August 31, 2012 at the Apostolic Church of Beaumont 3333 Eastex Freeway Beaumont, Texas 77706.

Malone

Roger Vernon Malone age 59 died August 25, 2012 at his home.

Roger was born in Dewitt, AK November 16, 1953 the son of the late Hallie Malone and Virginia Rouse Malone. Roger enjoyed hunting and fishing, he worked for many years as a brick layer and within his own lawn tractor service.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Shelia Malone, daughters; Amber Sparks and husband James, Kay Webb, and Kiki Bell, sons Wade Malone and Preston Malone, brother David Cooper, sister Theresa Cooper, five grandchildren, Trista Sparks, Kayley Webb, Star Bell, Stormie Bell, and Zack Sparks.

A funeral service will be held 2PM Thursday August 30, 2012 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas with visitation to be held one hour prior. Burial will be held at Palms Memorial Park.

Leger

Annie (MaMa) Lou Leger, 73 of Anahauc died on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at her residence with her family by her side.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 30, 2012 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Interment will be at 3:30 P.M. on Thursday at Zion cemetery in Iola, TX. A gathering of Annie's family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 29th.

She was the owner of Mama Lou's Liquor Store in Anahuac for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar S. Lisenbe, Kathleen and Arthur LaSalle, grandparents, grandson, Shon Mosley.

Annie is survived by her husband, 30 years, Wayne Leger; daughters, Terri Hill and husband, Bo; Patsy Edwards and husband, Tommy; sons, James Ray Mosley and Rhonda, David Lyle Mosley and wife, Susan, Michael Mosley and wife, Diane, and Cecil Mosley; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter; sisters, Betty, Dorothy, Eddie Lynn, Gloria; brother, A C, Arthur Wayne, and Ronnie; aunt, Irene Hensley; and a host of other family and friends.
