Matt Duane Butler, 50, of Dayton died on August 14, 2012 in Dayton.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew and friend.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. August 18, 2012 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Interment will follow in French cemetery in Dayton. A gathering of Matt's family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.

Matt the owner of Diamond M Cattle and Hay and employed with Crescent River Ranch. He worked for fourteen years with Lyondell Chemical in Channelview. He loved singing, dancing, his dogs, duck hunting, and being with family and friends. His favorite hobby was "Building People" and his favorite quote was "such as it is". Matt was preceded in death by his Pop, John David Butler, grandfather, Dan Mott, grandparents W. D. and Cleo Mae O'Brien; niece, Sammi Leigh Butler.

Matt is survived by his wife of 24 years, Jan Butler; mother, Ann Beard and stepfather, Gene Beard; daughters, Emily Maul and husband, Joey, Abby Christian and husband, Jay, Marley Butler and fiancee, Mike Wilbanks; son, Matt Duane Butler II and wife, Gretchen; grandchildren, Wesley, Ella, Jaycie, Jack, Jake, Cutter, Ty, Trent; sisters, Connie Mengo and husband Dean, Kim Skrabanek; brothers, Mark Butler, Clay Butler and wife, Barbara; grandmother, Bertha Lee Mott; step brothers, Mark Beard and wife Kristen, Duane Beard, Mike Beard and wife, Beth; host of other family and friends.

Aguilera

Maria Luisa Perez Aguilera, 85, of Anahuac, died on Monday, August 13, 2012 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 20th at Our Lady of Light Catholic Church in Anahuac with Rev. Neal Arce celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow in Anahuac cemetery. A gathering of Maria's family and friends will be from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday with a rosary at 6:00 P.M.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Maria Perez; one sister, and three brothers; son, Pablo Aguilera and granddaughters, Martha Aguilera, Kitana Aguilera; daughter-in-law, Rose Aguilera. She loved being with family and friends. She was a member of Our Lady of Light Catholic Church in Anahuac.

Maria is survived by her husband of 70 years, Ramon Aguilera; daughters, Aurora Nava and husband, Martin, Lourdea Barragan and husband, Antonio, Bertha Flores and husband, Salvador, Otilia Orozco and husband, Jose Luis, Francisca Jimenez and husband, Martin; sons, Raul Aguilera, Ignacio Aguilera and wife, Maria, Ernesto Aguilera and wife, Maris de Jesus; brother, Jesus Perez; 39 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Emery

Shawn Ray Emery, age 34, of Humble, Texas, died in a tragic accident on Thursday, August 09, 2012.

He was born October 09, 1977 in Houston, Texas. He was a 1996 graduate of Cleveland High School; loved bull riding and “MMA” (mixed martial arts); he was funny and had a great sense of humor. He was an extraordinary father, wonderful son and an amazing husband; he will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

His is preceded in death by his grandmother Delores Emery. Survivors include his loving wife of two years Sara Blythe Emery; mothers Kelly Emery and Debbie Emery; dad Harold R. Emery; grandparents Caryl Newsom, Penny and Betty Phillips; daughter Peyton Rae; sons Christian Ray and Colsyn Ray; sister Krista Harmon; brothers Chris Pinson and wife Amelia Pinson; Aaron Till, Jarrod Harmon; nieces Alexis, Jozlynn, Daisy, Katelynn, and Kendyl; nephew Malachi; uncle Cliff Emery; aunt Elizabeth Foster; along with countless friends beyond measure.

Bro. Monty Odom presided over funeral services held Monday, August 13, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Plum Grove cemetery. Pallbearers included Chris Pinson, Erik Ringo, Aaron Till, Courtney Lee, Jarrod Harmon, and Brian Strouse; honorary pallbearers included Cliff Emery and Jeremy Cruz.

Damrell

Loyd Thomas Damrell, 83, of Cleveland, TX died Monday August 13, 2012 at Fairy's Landing Residential Personal Care Center of Batson.

A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday August 15, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. Faith & Family Funeral Services Chapel with Reverend Clayton E. Hazell officiating. Pallbearers are John Arrington, Kenneth Hamilton, James Buck Potter, Lee Jeffcoat, Dusty Wilkey, Shelton Shoemake. Interment will follow at the Damrell Family cemetery in Clark community 7 miles north of Moss Hill on County Road 2115. Visitation will be held Tuesday August 14, 2012 at Faith & Family from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. And again on Wednesday August 15, 2012 from 10:00A.M. until time of service.

Born in Newton, to his parents Thomas and Maude Harvey Damrell Loyd had lived in Cleveland, since 1984 coming from Houston, where he had lived most of his life. He was a Fireman with the City of Houston for 23 years and was also a self employed Water Well Driller for 15 years and was also a U.S. Army Paratrooper and a member of the Rebecca Baptist Church of Moss Hill.

He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Damrell and Maude Harvey Damrell.

An aunt Florence Fowler. Brothers Williard Damrell, Fern Damrell and Winfred Damrell. Sister Rachel Midkiff, nephew W.A. Damrell Jr, Niece Brenda Springer, Kacy Hamilton. Great-grandson Christian Malachi Campbell. Survivors are wife Audrey Damrell of Cleveland, daughter Connie Potter and husband Bobby of Cleveland, sister Helen Krupar of Newton. Grandchildren Lisa Shoemake, Julie Wilkey. Great-grandchildren Shelton Shoemake, Wyatt Shoemake, Walker Shoemake, Micah Campbell, Makala Campbell, Gretchen Wilkey, Matthew Wilkey. The family would like to give their great appreciation to Linda Anderson and Holli and their great staff and special friends for the excellent care. Fairy's Landing you will be forever in our hearts and now a part of our family. Thank you!

Smith

Jerry Louis Smith, 72 of Buffalo, Texas died on Monday, August 13, 2012 at his weekend home in Dayton. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 16, 2012 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. A gathering of Jerry’s family and friends will be from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one daughter, and one grandson. Jerry loved working on load rigs and motorcycles.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary Smith; three sisters, one brother, eight children, numerous grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Sterling Funeral Home.

DeBlanc

Walter Lee DeBlanc, Sr., 78, of Ames, died Friday, August 10, 2012, at the Friendship Haven Rehabilitation Center in Friendswood.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2012, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Liberty with burial following at the Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Walter was born April 2, 1934 in Sour Lake, to parents; Walter Franklin DeBlanc and Lillian Terry, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Ames for the past 15 years. He attended the Lincoln High School, was a veteran of the US Navy, a retired security guard for Pinkerton Security, former construction worker and taxi driver, and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Liberty. He also enjoyed fishing and watching the Astros and westerns.

Mr. DeBlanc was preceded in death by his father: Walter Franklin DeBlanc, mother: Lillian Terry Brazier, wife of 47 years: Dorothy Mayo DeBlanc, and grandchildren: John Nathan Henry and Allen Walter Bailey. He is survived by his children: Regina Pinkney of Houston, Sandra Howard of Ames, Jeanne Wiggins and husband Michael of Manville, and Walter DeBlanc, Jr. of Ames, sister: Earnestine Chambers of Ames, niece: Mary Davis of MS, 34 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Ray

Claude Wesley “Junior” Ray, Jr., 85, of Batson, passed away Saturday August 11, 2012 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

He was a loyal and faithful husband, father and grandfather. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where he also served as a deacon. One of his great loves was farming. He ran his own business, the Burger Hut, for many years. He was loved and respected by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife Alice Ray; parents, Claude, Sr. and Mildred Ray; sister, Lois Deckert.

He is survived by his children, Mike Ray and wife Susie of Ingram, TX, Jerry Ray and wife Barbara of Spring, TX, Cheryl Ray of Houston; grandchildren, Emily Hardin and husband Van of Jackson, MS, David Ray and wife Suzy of Batavia, IL, Rebecca Ray of Austin, TX, Sarah Ray of Ft. Worth, TX; great grandchildren, Asher Hardin of Jackson, MS, Jeremiah Hardin of Jackson, MS, Jacob Ray of Batavia, IL; numerous other family members.

His family will receive friends at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Moss Hill on Monday August 13, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A celebration of life service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 14 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Moss Hill, officiated by Reverend Carlton Bailey. Burial will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Van Dorn, Robert Webb, Brian Webb, David Smith, Buddy Slankard and Pete Gunter.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Faith and Family Funeral Services, 40847 HWY 105 E., Batson, TX, 77519, (936) 262-2100 or (936) 366-2222.

Staggs

Ruby Mae Schoubroek Staggs, 74, of Coldspring, died Friday, August 10, 2012, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Cleveland. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland.

Ruby was born July 28, 1938 in San Augustine, to parents; Leland and Velma Wright Schoubroek, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Coldspring for the past 11 years. She was a homemaker, Baptist by faith, and enjoyed gardening, flowers, and especially spending time with family and friends.

Mrs. Staggs was preceded in death by her parents: Leland and Velma Wright Schoubroek, sisters: Laura, Ethel, and Julia, and brother: Earl. She is survived by her husband of 58 years: Floyd D. Staggs of Coldspring, children: Larry Staggs and wife Debra of Longview, Michael Staggs and wife Donna of Oxford, MS, Tommy Staggs and wife Melonie of Channelview, Debra Hooker and husband Lee of Rye, Troy Staggs and wife Becky of Baytown, and Micah Staggs and wife Kelly of Crosby, siblings: Johnny, Herman, Charles, and Jean, 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of floral remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association at 2030 North Loop W Ste 250 Houston, TX 77018, in Ruby’s name.

Elliott

Reno Elliott, 48 of Ames died Wednesday, August 8, 2012 in Houston, Texas.

He was born June 22, 1964 in Liberty to parents, Robert Elliott, Sr. and Dorothy Ruffin Elliott. Reno was a longtime resident of the Liberty and Houston area and was a member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Ames. He was a 1982 graduate of Liberty High School and he continued his education receiving Bachelor degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He served in the United States Navy, retiring in 1996. Reno also worked for the United States Post Office as a distribution clerk, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed motorcycles, all sports and listening to music.

Service for Reno will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 17, 2012 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Ames with Father George Okeahialam officiating. Visitation will be Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church with the rosary at 10:35 before the service. Interment will follow at Wells cemetery under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

Mr. Reno was preceded in death by his father Robert Elliott, Sr., his brother, Roderick Elliott, grandparents, Sias and Pecolar Elliott and Walter “Jim” and Fay Ruffin; also aunts, Joel Ruffin Dugat, Alice Ruffin Dugat, and Dorothy Elliott Webb. He is survived by his mother: Dorothy Elliott of Ames; his sister: Rochelle Zeno and husband Thomas of Ames; his brothers: Robert Elliott and wife Jenny of Channelview and Rashad Elliott of Ames; his nieces: Ebone Zeno Vehslage, Emoree Zeno, Erin Zeno, Ravyn Elliott, Shaquenne Elliott and Raeshell Elliott; his nephew: Gerald “Booley” Redmon; uncle: Rick Elliott of Raywood; Godson: Fabian Elliott of Baytown; Goddaughter: Leah Williams of Houston; cousin: Linda Robertson and Special Friend: Rita Granberry; also numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Davis

Wanda Lavonne Davis age 65 died Saturday, August 4, 2012, at her home.

She was born January 28, 1947 in Liberty, Texas the daughter of the late Harris Watson and Martha Faye Dubois Watson. Wanda was all about her family. She collected Coca Cola Products as well as angel collectables. She never met a stranger and was extremely generous.

Wanda was preceded in death by parents as well as a daughter Renee Reich.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons Willie Davis of Daisetta, Keith Davis and his wife Barbara of Houston, brothers, Harris Watson Jr. of Houston, Leo Watson of Daisetta, Clyde Watson of Hardin, and James Watson of Kirbyville.

In addition she leaves six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5-7PM Thursday August 9, 2012 with a memorial service to be held at 7PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas.

Dunn

Sharon Lynn Largent Elkins Dunn died on August 8, 2012. She was born on October 31, 1945 in New Gulf, Texas.

She was taken from her family and friends much too soon after a battle with cancer. She was a lifelong resident of Liberty County. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Allison Funeral Service. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

She was preceded in death by Parents Alva & Thelma Largent, brother Roy Largent and son Albert Elkins.

She is survived by her loving husband Gary Dunn; daughter, Dixi Elkins and son, Andy Elkins, both of Houston; Grandchildren Kelsie and Kaitlin Elkins, Madison and Morgan Callaway, all of Batson; Seth Elkins of Liberty and Jessica Elkins of Texarkana; a sister Betty Humphrey of Tarriffville, Connecticut and special friends Sharron Baldwin Farris, Linda McCarty Mann and Jimmy Elkins.

She was known for her creative talent, strong faith and sunny disposition. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

Enloe

Keallon Ray Enloe 37 of Batson, Texas died Saturday August 4, 2012 in Batson.

The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday August 8, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00P.M at Faith & Family Chapel with private interment to follow.

Born on October 22, 1974 in Liberty, Texas to Kenneth Ray Enloe and Charlotte Parnell Enloe. Keallon had live in Batson most of his life and worked for E.E. Grave Service and E.E. Pilot Car Services.

He was preceded in death by his brother K.J. Enloe, grandparents, Jim and Bessie Enloe and grandfather James D. Parnell.

Survivors are his parents Kenneth and Charlotte Enloe of Batson, son Joseph James Enloe of Batson, grandmother Ozell Parnell of Batson. Sister Deanna Enloe and husband Sami Albusaidy of Houston, nephews Matthew Enloe and wife Monica of Batson, Adam Albusaidy of Houston, and numerous family members and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers are Matthew, Tim, Glen, Ernie, Bernie, Steve, Chipper, Mason Sami.

Jenkins

Wilmer Jenkins, 85, of Liberty, Texas, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Liberty-Dayton Community Hospital.

A visitation will be held at Allison Funeral Service Chapel, on Saturday, August 11, 2012, from 10 am. until 11am.. The funeral service will follow at 11 am. Burial will be in Mount Zion cemetery, Liberty, Texas.

Wilmer Jenkins was born on January 8, 1927, in Jasper, Texas to parents Grelly Jenkins and Avery Winfro Jenkins. He attended public school at Mt. Zion Liberty Colored School District 7, Liberty, Texas. He confessed Christ at an early age. He served in the U.S. Army. Wilmer was employed by Tri-County Lumber Co., Raggio Services Co. Inc., and was also a farmer.

Mr. Jenkins is survived by two sisters; Luella Durham of Liberty, Modess Mosley of Richardson, Texas, one daughter, Tammy Jenkins, two granddaughters, two great-granddaughters, one aunt, Carrie Joseph of Stockton, California and a host of other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis St., Liberty, Texas 77575.
