Smith

Carla Lee Smith, age 68, of Hardin, died on April 10, 2012 with her loving family by her side.

Carla was born February 1, 1944 in Orange, TX, daughter of Carl and Margaret Webster. Carla loved her grandchildren, softball, bowling, reading and scrap booking. She was a grocery clerk with Randall’s and retired from there with 20 years of service.

Carla was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Tony Lane Smith. Carla leaves behind to cherish her memory sons; Shannon Smith and wife Susan of Hardin, Frank Smith III and wife Karen, daughters; Brenda Smith of Baytown, Cindy Davis and husband Richard of Mount Belvieu and Crystal Shirey of Mount Belvieu, brothers; Steve Webster of Rocky Ford, CO, and Rory MacPherson of Grants Pass, OR, sisters; Peggy Lynn Warde of Long Hill, NJ, Jean Diane Hooper of Gillette, WY, and Robbie MacPherson of Tucson, AZ, grandchildren; Tiffany Ann Smith, Casey Thompson, Corissa Shipley, Anna Lee Shipley, Shannon Smith II, Juston Bourque, Trent Smith, Brandon Smith, Christin Arteaga and Johnathon Shipley, great-grandchildren, Rylee Denise Thompson, Mark Thompson II, Felicity Bailey and Conner Johnson, and her loving pet Booger Smith of Hardin.

A memorial service for Carla Lee Smith will be held at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis in Liberty at 10:00am on Saturday April 14, 2012. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School, 1301 North Main St, P.O. Box 100, Chamberlin, SD, 57325.

Leonard

Jerry O. Leonard, age 77, died Tuesday April 10, 2012 at his home with his beloved family by his side.

Jerry was born in Liberty, Texas May 25, 1934 the son of the late Henry Clayborn Leonard and Dorothy Blake Leonard. Jerry enjoyed trips to the beach, ranching and had a strong work ethic. He was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite for the Liberty Masonic Lodge and a member of the South Liberty Methodist Church. An A&M Cadet, Jerry worked for Waldrop Ford for twenty-five years later owning and operating Jerry Leonard Used Cars, and as a bail bondsman.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his first wife Betty Leonard, son Jerry Wayne Leonard and a brother Clayborn Leonard.

He leaves to cherish his memory his ex-wife Virginia Carver, sons James Kevin Leonard and wife Mary Jane, Bairn Leonard, Blake Leonard and wife Joni, brother David Leonard and wife Brenda, and a sister Pat Campbell. In addition he leaves his grandchildren Amanda, C.J, Tiffany, Caitlyn, Cody, Jacob, Kaylee, Kaden, and Kelton Leonard, a great grandson Eli Crawford and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday April 11, 2012 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. A funeral service will be held 10:30AM Thursday April 12, 2012 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Fairlawn cemetery.

Yancey

Sondra L. Waltman Yancey, 79, of Burkeville, died April 9, 2012, at her daughter’s residence in Tarkington Prairie.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Palms Memorial Park cemetery in Dayton with burial following thereafter. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Sondra was born march 11, 1933 in Diboll, to parents, Lee and Myrtle Parton Waltman, a former resident of Kenefick, and has resided in Burkeville for the past 30 years. She was a graduate of the Diboll High School, homemaker, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and crafts.

Mrs. Waltman was preceded in death by her parents, daughter: Cynthia Pitts-Copeland, grandson: Jeremy Pitts, great-grandson: Nathan Cooper, brother: James Waltman, and sister: Pauline Waltman. She is survived by her husband of 40 years: Walter Yancey of Dale, daughters: Theresa Votaw and husband David of Tarkington Prairie and Carol Puckett-Yancey and husband Chuck of Auburn, CA, sons: Lee Pitts and wife Trish of Ft. Worth and Charles Puckett and wife Teresa of Baytown, grandchildren: Christy Sanford, Christopher and Chadwick Yancey, Mary Cooper, James Votaw, Dylan Lejeune-Votaw, Jason Slater, Lauren O’Brien, Jeremy Pitts, Crystal Thomas, and Tiffany Puckett, 20 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Langford

Robert G. “Bobby” Langford, 66, of Huffman, died Sunday, April 8, 2012, of brain cancer with his wife, Janice by his side.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Bobby was born June 23, 1945 in Providence, RI, to parents; Lloyd G., Sr. and Mary E. Walsh Langford, a former resident of Spring Branch, and has resided in Huffman for the past 21 years. He was a master plumber by trade, member of the S. P. Waltrip Masonic Lodge #1328, Scottish Rite, Shrine, Order of Eastern Star, and West End Optimist International. He also enjoyed reading, cooking, and spending time with friends.

Mr. Langford was preceded in death by his father: Lloyd G. Langford, Sr. and brother: Jon Gregory Langford. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years: Janice K. Workman Langford of Huffman, daughters: Letitia Langford of San Diego, CA and Rebecca J. McWilliams and husband Kenneth of Greensboro, NC, son: Robert E. Aden and wife Rebecca of Huffman, grandchildren: Vincent Langford and Amanda L. Carter, great-grandchild: Aden Carter, mother: Mary E. Walsh Langford of Tomball, sister: Roberta “Cyssie” Passafuma of Tomball, brothers: Gary Langford of Tomball and Lloyd G. Langford, Jr. of Houston, aunts: Barbara Yarbrough of Huffman and Nell Copeland of Flynn, brothers-in-law: Nelson, John, and Steve Workman, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of usual floral remembrances, the family request donations be made to the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children or the American Diabetes Association, in Bobby’s name.

Tonatore

Anthony Tonatore, age 83, died at his home Monday April 9, 2012 with his beloved family by his side.

Tony was born July 7, 1928 in Monroe, LA son of the late Carmelo Tornatore and Mary Calesha Tornatore.

Tony was devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church in Liberty, Knights of Columbus, and the VFW. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. A US NAVY veteran he served in Italy during WWII.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother Peter Tornatore. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of fifty-four years Loraine Tornatore, sons Jay Tornatore and wife Linda, Anthony Tornatore Jr and fiancée Rhonda Coon, Peter Tornatore and wife Caroline, and a daughter Teresa McDonald and husband Daniel. In addition he leaves four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Visitation will be held Thursday April 12, 2012 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas with a Rosary service to be held at 7:30PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10AM Friday April 13, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Liberty Catholic cemetery.

Moor

Corine Rawlinson Moor, 97, of Anahuac, died on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Cedar Bayou Nursing Home in Baytown.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Anahuac under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery. A gathering of Corine's family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, April 9, 2012 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Moor was born October 25, 1914 in Jasper, Texas to Ina Melissa Wade and Amos David Rawlinson. She graduated from Silsbee High School and attended Port Arthur Business College. In 1933 her family moved to Anahuac. She worked several offices at the Chambers County Courthouse where she served as Chief Clerk. She worked for Mr. A. W. Marshall and Sterling Funeral Home for many years.

Mrs. Moor loved reading, working cross word puzzles, feeding the birds and enjoying her family. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Anahuac. She was preceded in death by her husband, Halley Estes Moor, son-in-law Charles Edmonds and grandson, Shawn Edmonds.

Mrs. Moor is survived by her daughters, Judy Edmonds, Janice Bradbury and husband, Charles; son, Halley Ray Moor and wife, Sheila; 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Wade Villemez, Darin Villemez, Cody Bradbury, Halley Moor, Jr., Rett Staner, Roy Barrett and Clay Edmonds. Honorary Pallbearer will be Johnnie Smith.

Crane

Margaret Lucille Crane, 83 of, Dayton, did on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Liberty-Dayton Regional Hospital in Liberty.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

A gathering of Margaret's family and friends will be from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. A private burial will take place in North Carolina at a later date.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie Elledge; parents, Ronnie and Olive Joines Crane. Margaret loved her cats and flowers.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Barbara White; sons, Dwight, Billy, Robert and Jerry Elledge; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Cole

Gary S. “Steve” Cole, 55, of Cleveland, died Sunday, April 8, 2012, at the Cleveland Regional Hospital in Cleveland.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Ryan cemetery in Tarkington Prairie with burial following thereafter. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland.

Steve was born January 2, 1957 in Dayton, to parents; Jimmie M. Cole and Shelby J. Tanner, and has resided in the Cleveland area throughout his life. He was a graduate of the Tarkington Prairie High School class of 1975, a water treatment operator for Union Tank Car since 1978, member of the United Steel Workers Union, and enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Mr. Cole was preceded in death by a stepson: Bobby Wooldridge. He is survived by his wife of 22 years: Kathy Cole of Cleveland, father: Jimmie M. Cole and wife Rue Nita of Cleveland, mother: Shelby J. Hoagland and husband Edwin Bruce of Cleveland, stepdaughters: Tracey Wooldridge of Houston and Cheryl Head and husband Tracy of Cleveland, brothers: Billy Ray Cole and wife Vicki and Justin Wayne Cole, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Bell

Ilene Elenora George Bell, 91, who lived with her daughter, JoAnn and Steve Abbott on Lake Wister in Oklahoma, died peacefully Thursday, April 5, 2012, surrounded by her family.

She was born May 11, 1920 in Barksdale, Texas to parents Emzey D. George and Linnie Belle Shockley George. Ilene was a long time resident of Dayton, Texas and a graduate of Dayton High School, Class of 1938. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dayton.

Services for Mrs. Bell will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 9, 2011, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, 1304 N. Cleveland Street in Dayton, with Rev. Jon Stouffer officiating. Interment to follow at Linney cemetery, Dayton, Texas.

Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 54 years, Homer Joseph “Joe” Bell, her cherished son, Donald Joe “Don” Bell, her brothers Allison George and Ray George, and her sisters Edith Pedron, Mae Walling, and Alma Lee Addington. She is survived by her daughters, JoAnn Abbott and husband Steve of Wister, Oklahoma, and Marilyn Rothschild and husband Wayne of Northbrook, Illinois; her grandchildren, Maxwell Bell Rothschild and Morgan Bell Rothschild of Northbrook; her sister, Betty Jo Wisegerber and husband Lester Ray of Dayton; and numerous wonderful nieces, nephews, other relatives, a host of good friends, and beloved dog, Fido.

Clark

Sabrina Ann Clark, 41, of Vidor, Texas died Wednesday April 4, 2012 at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont.

A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday April 10, 2012 at 11:00A.M. at The Pinehurst United Pentecostal Church 2111 N. 40th Street Orange, Texas 77630 with Reverend W.W. Smith officiating, interment will follow at the Wilkerson cemetery in Orange. The family will be receiving friends on Monday April 9, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. also at Pinehurst United Pentecostal church. Sabrina was born September 2, 1970 in Beaumont Texas, to Michael Wayne Carter and Silver LaJune Strange and had lived in Vidor for most her life and was an homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her father Michael Wayne Carter and sister Tammy Carter. Survivors are husband Joe Clark of Vidor, mother Silver LaJune Strange of Vidor, son Chase Windwehen of Waco, daughter Wendy Alisha Clark of Mauriceville and numerous aunts, uncles and a host of friends. Sabrina was a loving wife, mother and friend to all that knew her and she will be missed very much.

Bell

Ilene Elenora George Bell, 91, who lived with her daughter, JoAnn and Steve Abbott on Lake Wister in Oklahoma, died peacefully Thursday, April 5, 2012, surrounded by her family. Jones

A Memorial Service for Stanley Lee Jones, 42, of Baytown, will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012, in Wells Memorial Chapel, at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Ray Weathers, officiating.

Born to Sally Thompkins and Clarence Jones on September 15, 1969, in Beaumont, Texas, he died on April 4, 2012 at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital, Baytown. He attended high school in Hardin. He was known by many people as “Big Stan” or “Big Boy”. Stanley went to several churches and always had God in his life. He believed in keeping family close and always had something plan for the family and his children.

He is preceded in death by his father and a great aunt, who was known as Mother Girlie Mae Jordan.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife: LeQuitta Woodley Jones; his mother: Sally Ann; three daughters: Dijonee, Sharnease, and Staneace; two sons: Darrell and Desmond; one brother: Clarence; three sisters: Tanya, Dee Dee, and Yolanda; his grandfather: Miles Thompkins, five grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Baker

Sue Nell Tacker Baker, 84, of Liberty, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in Houston after an extended illness.

She was born January 27, 1928 in Mexia to Houston Allen Tacker and Allie Belle Little Tacker. She was owner of Baker Glass Co. and a member of Cypress Point Baptist Church, Huffman.

Mrs. Baker’s service was Friday, April 06, 2012 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton with Pastor Alfred Smith officiating.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bertie J. Baker, Jr., her sons: Jerry Baker, Jackie Baker, and David Baker, her brothers: Leonard Tacker, Edgar Tacker, Ardan Tacker, and Bobby Tacker. She is survived by her caregiver, pastor, & adopted son, Alfred Smith, numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, & friends.

LeMelle

Jason Paul LeMelle, age 30, of Liberty, went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2012.

Jason was born on January 23, 1982 in Liberty, TX, son of Lionel and Anna LeMelle of Liberty. Jason attended Liberty High School where he graduated in 2000. Jason worked for AMICO for the past ten years as an auto detailer. Jason always had a smile on his face and was always joking. He loved his 4-wheelers, outdoor activities and working with kids. Jason’s philosophy in life was “What can I do for you?” and not “What can you do for me?”

Jason was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Joseph Lionel and Cecilia LeMelle and his maternal grandparents Wesley and Selina Fontenot.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents, Lionel and Anna LeMelle of Liberty, brothers Samuel LeMelle of Austin, Lionel Joseph LeMelle of Liberty, John LeMelle of Liberty, Scott LeMelle of Liberty, fiancée Lina Rodriguez of Liberty, step children Mallory and Tyler Threadgill both of Liberty. In addition he leaves numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday April 9, 2012 from 6-9PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. A funeral service will be held Tuesday April 10, 2012 at 11AM at Cornerstone Church, 1693 Highway 146 Bypass Liberty, Texas with internment to follow in Palms Memorial Park cemetery, Dayton, Texas.
