Brown

Lloyd Thomas Brown, 67, of Liberty, TX, died March 17, 2012 in Liberty.

Lloyd was born January 29, 1945 in Livingston, TX son of Buster and Jewel Brown. Lloyd was a short log truck driver and a member of the VFW. He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 until 1966. Lloyd enjoyed working on his tractor.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; sister Opal Faye King. Lloyd leaves behind to cherish his memory sons Kevin Brown and wife Gail of Liberty, Jimmy Sellers of Arkansas; daughters Angela Strokos and husband Frank Jr of Liberty, Lavonda Norris and husband Daniel Gosell of Corpus Christi, Tammi Hyiat of Baytown, Linda Brown of Baytown and Juli Brown of Baytown; the mothers of his children Rosemary Costlow Pavliska and Vickie Parker; his loving dog Baby Girl and numerous nephews and nieces.

Graveside services for Lloyd Thomas Brown will be Thursday, March 22nd at Jones Prairie cemetery in Livingston, TX at 11am.

Smith

Joseph Grover Smith, age 89, of Cleveland, Texas, dieed Sunday, March 18, 2012.

He was born June 27, 1922 in Brooksville County, Mississippi to parents Joe and Ara Smith who preceded him in death along with his loving wife Annie Frank Smith; son Bobby Frank; daughter Betty Ann; grandsons Ronnie Dale Puckett and Heath Davis; and his granddaughter Holly Jo Smith.

Survivors include his daughters Cheryl Kirkpatrick of Cleveland, TX, Vickie Luman and husband Larry of Cleveland, TX, Glinda Ray and husband Kenneth of Cleveland, TX, Linda Sullivan and husband Danny of Kileen, TX; sons Tommy Smith and wife Gloria of Cleveland, TX, Don Smith of Dayton, TX; one brother, Jack Smith; grandchildren, Tommy Smith Jr., Mitzi Kline and husband Jerry, John Kirkpatrick, Shelli Hayes and husband David, Joe Smith, Matt Davis, Stacy Harp and husband Ben, Annie Murff, Sandy Faircloth and husband Phillip, Polly Williams and husband, Randy, J.J. Ray, and Juan Ray; great-grandchildren Kevin, Patrick, Michael, Tayler, Davin, Stephanie, Elizabeth Charlie, Heather, Shy, Kendra, Kaleb, Anthony, Raylee, Alexis, and Baby Kline; numerous other cherished family members and faithful friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2012, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Carl Williamson will preside over funeral services being held Thursday, March 22, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment immediately following at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens. Pallbearers include Tommy Smith, Larry Luman, Don Smith, Charlie Murff, Tommy Smith Jr., and Kaleb Faircloth.

Smith

Roy Glen Smith, 55, of Hardin, died on Tuesday February 29, 2012.

He spent his childhood in Dayton. He served his country in the U. S. Army. He was, admittedly, a rebel who lived on the wild side until he turned his life over to Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Smith of Hardin; sons, Roy Glen Smith, Jr. and wife Tabitha, Adam Wayne Smith and wife Amanda Ann, John Phillip Smith; daughter, Willie Ernestina Smith; sisters, Sandra Lee Hopson and husband Clifford, Wanda Jeanette Smith, Willie Ann Rhame and husband Cecil Dale, Karen Bernice Bennight and husband Joe Robert, Deborah Gail Thompson and husband Benny, Barbara Sherry White; brother, Robert Wayne Smith and wife Liza; grandchildren, Autumn Rose, Adam Wayne Smith, Jr., Savannah Raine, Jory Ashton, Tristin Augustus, Heather Ann, Eileen Brooke, Richard Scott, Endora Louise; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

A memorial service is planned for 3:00 Sunday, March 25, at Kenefick Southern Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Jeff Day. He will be laid to rest at Greenville cemetery in Kenefick.

Bryant

Marilyn “Dolly” Bryant, age 47, of Kenefick, died, Friday March 15, 2012, in Dayton, Texas.

Dolly was born December 21, 1964 to her parents William David Langley, Sr. and Mary L. Mason Langley. She grew up in the Cloverleaf area and was a graduate of North Shore High School class of 1983. She was a homemaker and a caretaker.

Services for Mrs. Bryant will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 19, 2012 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Dayton. Reverend Krystal Aldridge will officiate. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.

Dolly is survived by her husband, Kenneth Bryant; parents, William and Mary Langley, parents-in-law, Melvin and Barbara Bryant; daughter, Jenni Holmes; son, Joseph Holmes and his wife, Shanna; brothers, David Louis Langley, Billy Langley, Jr., and William David Langley, IV; sister, Sheila Baker and her husband, Gary; grandchildren, Jenna Green, Shaylin Holmes, and Jacob Holmes; Loving companion, Monkee; Numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.

Ferguson

Baby Ruth Ferguson, age 83, of Liberty, died on Thursday March 15th in Baytown, TX.

Baby Ruth was born in Cleveland, TX, daughter of Marshall and Myrtle Hill. She attended Columbus High School and married the love of her life, Elmo “Bill” Ferguson Jr in 1948. They were married 58 years until Bill’s death in 2006. She loved gardening, cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. Ruthie also enjoyed traveling.

Baby Ruth Ferguson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son; Marshall Ware Ferguson, and sisters; Estella Wilson and Lois Bahner. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter; Rebecca Moss and husband Alan of Liberty, grandsons; Bart Alan Moss, Eric Dale Moss and Andrew Thomas Moss all of Liberty, granddaughter; Madison Elizabeth Ferguson of Austin, sister; Betty Jo Seifert of Weimer, TX, and great-grandchildren; Krissy, Kirsten, Brett and Lexi Moss and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Baby Ruth Ferguson will be held at 1pm on Monday, March 19th at Odd Fellow Rest cemetery in Columbus, TX. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 18th at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis in Liberty from 5pm to 7pm.

Brannon

Robert Thomas “Bubba” Brannon, of Hull, died Friday February 2, 2012, in Beaumont, Texas.

Mr. Brannon was born April 15, 1964 in Cleveland, Texas to parents; Thomas Robert, Sr. and Lillie Hill Brannon.

Funeral services were under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. Visitation for Robert will be Monday, February 6, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Services for Mr. Brannon were Tuesday February 7 at Pace-Stancil chapel Dayton, interment was at Squier cemetery in Cleveland, Texas.

Mr. Brannon was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Robert Brannon, Sr.; a sister Mae Annette Brannon and an infant daughter Elizabeth Ann Brannon.

Robert is survived by his mother, Lillie Brannon; sons, Chad Elliot Brannon and Thomas Hunter Brannon; daughter, Betty Jo Delasota and husband Frank; fiancée, Helen Shaver; sisters Lillie Hopson and husband Tommy, Margaret Draz and husband Dave, Donna Quinn and husband Brent, and Selena Leonardt; grandchildren, Raymond Gregory and Brandi Gregory, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousin and friends.

Matyear

Alyce Rose Young Matyear, age 89, of Liberty, Texas, died Thursday, March 15, 2012 in Liberty, Texas. Rose was born July 1, 1922 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to her parents William Eugene and Minnie Mae McDonald Young.

Mrs. Matyear spent much of her life in Sweeney, Texas and was employed by Sweeney Chamber of Commerce from which she retired. She had been a resident of Liberty for the past several years. She was a member of Sweeney Church of Christ and El Modelo Club. Rose was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Graveside services for Mrs. Matyear will be Monday March 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at City of Sweeny cemetery in Sweeny, Texas. Visitation will be at Pace Stancil Funeral home in Dayton, Sunday March 18, 2012 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Mrs. Matyear was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Matyear, and two brothers; Kenneth Young and Bill Young.

Alyce is survived by her sons; Charles Randall “Randy” Matyear and wife, Cindy of San Antonio and Bradley “Brad” Matyear and wife, Deborah of Liberty, Grandchildren; Bradlynn Matyear and Bryan Matyear of Liberty.

Services entrusted to Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton, Texas.

Templeton

Kenneth Templeton of Hardin, TX, age 72, died on Wednesday, March 14, 2012.

He was born in Ace, TX on Thursday, May 25, 1939 to Spencer and Ida Faye Templeton both of whom preceded him in death. Kenneth was also preceded in death by his daughter, Pam Templeton and brother, Gerald Lavon Templeton.

He is survived by his loving children, Michael Templeton, Sr. and wife LaVonna of Hardin, TX, Tracy Templeton and wife Robin of Cleveland, TX; brothers, Clifton Templeton and wife Sandy, Larry Templeton and wife Linda, Kerry Templeton and wife Roberta; grandchildren, Michael Templeton, Jr. and wife Tiffany, Mark Templeton and wife Kayla, Katie Templeton, Joey Templeton, Cody Templeton, Vyctoria Barroso and Seth Templeton; great-grandchildren, Kalynn, Kylie, Hunter, and Harley Templeton; along with numerous other loving family and friends.

Visitation for Kenneth will be held at Neal Funeral Home on Friday, March 16, 2012 from 6:00-9:00 pm. Service for Kenneth will be held at Neal Funeral Home on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 10:00 am. All service arrangements were handled under the trusted care of Neal Funeral Home.

Paresson

Carole Ann Bandy Paresson, 68, of Channelview, died on Thursday, March 1, 2012.

Carole was born on September 15, 1943, in Goose Creek, Texas, to parents, Clarence Robert Bandy and Myrtia Faye Capps Bandy. She was a 1962 graduate of Channelview High School and a lifelong resident of Channelview. Carole married Paul Paresson in 1972. Mrs Paresson was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Channelview, Texas. She was a member, of many years, of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and Mary’s Kitchen and was a volunteer at the Channelview Public Library. She was very active as an advocate for the homeless.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Valerie Railey, a brother Bill Wheeler, and son in law, Dale L. Pavey. She is survived by her husband, Paul Paresson, children, Melissa Pavey, Amanda Railey and partner Marty May, Glenn Pitts and wife Kelly, J. Gregory Pitts and partner Kristi Combs, a brother, Robert “Tony” Bandy and wife Margie, sister, Diana Hatfield and husband David, a sister-in-law, Teddy Wheeler, nine grandchildren, William Perkins, Jason Perkins, Robert Shull, Jacob Pitts, Jared, Sky, Katelyn, Addison and Allison Pitts, four great-grandchildren, Jaxsyn Shull, Eliana, Brianna and Elissa Perkins and numerous other relatives and friends.

Carole was a loving wife, a wonderful mother and grandmother and a loyal and generous friend and will be sorely missed by those of us who loved her.

Wilson

Gladys E. Murphy Wilson, age 94, died Monday March 12, 2012 in Baytown, Texas.

She was born in Soda, Texas June 17, 1917. Gladys enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Basil Ardell Wilson and nine brothers and sisters. She leaves behind to cherish her memory a son Dan Wilson and his wife Tana, sister Velma lee Wright, grandchildren Jackie Wilson, Felicia Buddington, Angela Johnson, and Heather Overby. In addition she leaves thirteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday March 15, 2012 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral Services to be held 2PM Friday March 16, 2012 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Fairlawn cemetery.

Chamberlain

Charles William Chamberlain, Sr., 68, of Liberty, TX, died Tuesday March 13, 2012 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

A native of Hamilton OH, he had lived Liberty twenty-seven years and was member of The Mt. Calvary Baptist Church – Marysee, and a security guard in Houston TX. He was preceded in death by his son Dennis Chamberlain and his parents Robert Chamberlain and Opal Barnes. Survivors are his loving wife of forty-years Darlene Chamberlain of Liberty, sons Charles Chamberlain of Lumberton, N.C. Sanford Corley and wife Marlena of Mauriceville. Daughter Jonett Perkins and husband William of Moss Hill, brother Larry Chamberlain and wife Marilyn of Monroe, OH. And sister Linda Neanover and husband Bunk of Trenton, OH. Grandchildren Jessica Lemelle and husband Warren of Liberty, Mallory and Kristopher Perkins of Moss Hill, Emily and Colten Corley of Mauriceville, and Jayden Chamberlain of Lumberton, N.C. Majors

Isthmell Daniel Majors, 64, of Daisetta, died on Sunday March 11, 2012 at his residence in Daisetta.

He was born in Dayton Texas on February 4, 1948 to loving parents Isthmell Majors and Ruthie Walters and had lived in Raywood and the Liberty County for most of his.

He is survived by his brother Delbert D. Majors of Daisetta, sister Carlin R. Brown of Kountze, seven nieces, two nephews, twenty-one great nieces and nephews. Twenty-one great-great nieces, nephews and numerous extended family and friends. Cremation service handled under the care of Faith & family Funeral Services.

Brown

Justin Lee Brown, 29, of Saratoga, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 in Fannett.

A service of remembrance will be held Thursday March 15, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. At Faith & Family Funeral Services of Batson, with interment to follow at Oilfield cemetery in Saratoga.

The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday March 14, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a time of reflections from 6:30 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Faith & Family.

A native of Beaumont he had lived in Saratoga, most of his life and was a pipefitter with C.B. I. of Beaumont.

Survivors are his wife Lanell Brown of Saratoga, parents Noel & Kathleen Brown of Saratoga, grandmother Alice Patrick of Kountze. Daughters Emma Lee Brown, Allyson Lauren Brown of Saratoga, brothers Jason Brown and wife Jamie, Christopher Brown and wife Serena of Saratoga. Sister Amber Gautreaux and husband Bill of Saratoga and numerous nieces, nephews and friends and a host of Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Pallbearers are Jason Brown, Christopher Brown, Andrew Brown, Bill Gautreaux, Kevin Kirkland, Keith Jones.

Honorary pallbearers are Drake Kirkland and all of Justins friends.
