Stanislaus

James “Jay” L. Stanislaus, 87, of Springfield, MO, died on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the Cox Medical Center Hospital in Springfield, MO.

He was born on January 28, 1925 in St. Joseph, MO. His parents were Lawrence A. Stanislaus and Ruby Irene Denny Stanislaus.

He was a veteran of World War II, and after returning from the War, went to work for the Missouri Pacific Railroad (MOPAC). While employed by MOPAC, he and his wife, Jerry, lived in Lake Charles, LA, Houston, TX, St. Louis, MO and Omaha, NE. He was with MOPAC for 35 years and retired in 1983 as a Vice President.

He was a member of the Masons where he reached the level of 32nd degree.

Jay loved to get together with relatives and good friends. He and his wife of 70 years, Jerry, lived in Springfield for the last 20 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence A. Stanislaus and Ruby Irene Denny Stanislaus; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Albert Richmond and Geneva Richmond; brothers: Harold Stanislaus and wife Marie; Gerry Stanislaus; Marvin Stanislaus; sisters: Grace Hayward; Mildred Jenkins and husband Leo; Helen Atkins and husband Warren; Lucille McDowell and husband Bud; Frankie Miller and husband Kensil; brothers-in-law Carl Graham and Ivan McDowell; sisters-in-law Darlene Stanislaus; Patricia Campbell Graves and husband Lester “Tex” Campbell; and great granddaughter Tiffany Reilly.

He is survived by his wife Geraldine “Jerry” A. Stanislaus; his son Jimmie Stanislaus and his wife Bessie of The Woodlands; his grandchildren Jim Stanislaus and his wife Tara of Austin, and Jill Reilly and her husband Rob Reilly of Tucson; his great grandchildren: Ryan Reilly, Grant Reilly, Reid Reilly, Sophia Reilly, Alexa Reilly of Tucson, and Mason Stanislaus and Matthew Stanislaus of Austin; brother: Melvin Stanislaus of Omaha, NE; sisters: Shirley McDowell of Blair, NE; Fayetta Smith and husband Wallace of Harvey, LA; Mary Graham of Maryville, MO; sisters-in-law Caroline Stanislaus of Independence, MO; Marian Stanislaus of Maryville, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, other friends and relatives.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Fairlawn cemetery in Liberty. Arrangements are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Brown

Sherry Lynn Brown, 56, of Saratoga, died Sunday March 4, 2012.

She was born December 12, 1955 in Liberty, TX to her parents, Charles and Hazel Smalley. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Saratoga for over 30 years. She was a great mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Irene Smalley.

She is survived by her father, Charles Jack Smalley and wife Ima of Hull; children, Kevin Len Brown and wife Jamie of Dayton, Leslie Irene Brown of Batson, Randall Wayne Brown and wife Jennifer of Winnie; brothers, Glenn Smalley, Jack Smalley and wife Angela; grandchildren, Kaylia Brown, Zackary Brown, Alec Brown, Bradley Brown, Izzie Brown, Colton Brown; nieces, Nikkie Smalley, Stephanie Skodack, Sarah Smalley; great nieces, Kylie Lynn, Liberty Skodack; great nephew, Gavin Lynn.

Her family will receive friends Wednesday March 7, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Saratoga. A service of remembrance is scheduled for Thursday March 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Saratoga, officiated by Reverend Frank Aragon. Burial will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Marcontell, Ronnie Marcontell, Avery Fregia, Ronnie Fregia, Deanie Brown, Clay Brown, Matthew Graham, Derek Brown, B.J. Sullivan and Coy Duty.

Services have been entrusted to Faith and Family Funeral Services, 40847 HWY 105 E., Batson, TX, 77519 (936)262-2100 or (936)336-2222.

Rimpler

Terry Lee Rimpler, 60, of Dayton, died on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at his residence. He was a loving son, brother, father and grandfather.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 3:00 P.M.

Terry was preceded in death his wife, Marsha Rimpler and father, Charles Rimpler. Terry was employed by Keith Auto Service for over 20 years.

Terry is survived by his mother, Shirley Krallman Rimpler; daughter, Jenn Hall and husband, John; son, Rob Rimpler and wife, Leah; sisters, Jackie Severson, Linda Schneider; brother, Jerry Rimpler; grandchildren, Evan, Emily, Landon and Lawson Hall, Austin Rimpler; stepson, Jim Surles and wife, Evelyn; step grandchildren, Brodie and Ben Surles; and a host of other family and friends.

Dougharty

Reverend Allie Ray Dougharty, 73, of Mauriceville, TX, formally of Pitkin, LA, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday March 2, 2012 at Harbor Hospital in Beaumont.

He served for many years as a faithful pastor of the Mauriceville United Pentecostal Church from where he retired and had recently served as Assistant Pastor under Reverend Leo Anderson at the Pentecostal Apostolic Church of Orange Texas. Reverend Dougharty was born May 20, 1938 in Mittie, Louisiana to parents Allie Dan Dougharty and Lillie Velma Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Connie Turnage Dougharty of Mauriceville; sons, Allen Dougharty and wife Debbie of Pitkin, LA and Alvin Dougharty of San Francisco, CA; brothers, Durwood Dougharty and wife Brenda, Troy Dougharty and wife Darlene, Danny Dougharty and wife Sheila all of Dequincy, LA; sister, Velma Baier of Kenai, Alaska. Grandchildren, Shane, Joshua, and Lee Dougharty of DeQuincy LA; great grandchildren, Leah Dougharty and Slade Dougharty of Pitkin, LA.

His family will be receving friends on March 4 2012 from 11:00A.M until time of service at the First Apostolic Church of DeQuincy LA. A homegoing service will be held on Sunday March, 4 2012 at 2:00 P.M. also at the First Apostolic church of DeQuincy, LA, with, Reverend Mike Philips and Reverend Grover Heard officiating. Interment will follow at the Perkins cemetery in DeQuincy. “ A true man of God he fought a good fight he finished his course and he kept the(his) faith.”

Dorsey

A Mass of Christian Burial for Geneva Dorsey, 79, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Raywood with the Reverend Father George Okaehialam as Celebrant, with burial in Sacred Heart cemetery, under the direction of Wells Funeral Service, Liberty.

A native of Raywood, she lived most of her adult life in Beaumont. She died on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Westbury Place in Houston.

She is survived by one son; Darryl Dorsey, of Houston and one daughter: LaFern Dorsey of Beaumont; four sisters: Virgie Boutte of Raywood, Shirley Biley of Ocoville, CA., Mildred Caudillo of Long Beach, CA. and Germaine Strawder of Houston.

Visitation will be from 9 am until time of service at the church.

Gore

Billie Joe Gore, 79, of Wallisville, died on Wednesday, February 29, 2012.

A memorial service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac.

He was preceded in death by his daughters, Tricia and Rita.

Billie Joe is survived by his daughters, Jeanie Doyle and husband, Darrell, Jennifer Frank and husband, Steve; grandchildren, Craig Allen, Christopher Lee, Ken Allen; great granddaughter, Caitlyn; and a host of other family and friends.

Cooley

James Roland Cooley, 96, of Anahuac, died on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at his residence. He was a loving uncle, great uncle and great-great uncle.

Funeral services will 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 3, 2012 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery. A gathering of Roland's family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, March 2, 2012 at the funeral home.

Roland was a native of Nome and moved to Anahuac 53 years ago. He retired from the Texas Highway Dept. as a Chief Inspector. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Irvine Cooley. Roland served his county in the U. S. Army Air Corps in WWII. He received the AM Theater, Good Conduct, and WWII Victory Medals. Roland enjoyed fishing, and loved animals. Roland touched many lives in his long life and will be missed.

Roland is survived by his sister-in-law, "Dutch" Cooley; niece, Barbara Ann Hawkins; great nieces and nephews, Burton Moore, Brent Moore, Colleen McKenna, Deborah Johnson; and a host of great-great nieces and nephews.

Turner

Jack Edward Turner, 82, of Liberty, Texas died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 in Houston, Texas with his loving family by his side.

Jack was born September 9, 1929 son of Loyd and Lillian Turner in Devers, Texas. Jack attended Devers High School where he graduated in 1946. Jack then attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX for two years. Jack was a self-employed hot shot driver in the oilfield industry for thirty-two years. He loved spending time with his children and grand-children. Jack loved to cook and was a devout Dallas Cowboy fan. Jack was a big influence in building the first little league baseball field on Beaumont Ave. in Liberty. He loved working with the youth through the Elk’s Lodge. Jack was a member of the Elk’s Lodge Chapter for fifty years and served as the exalted ruler for that organization five times. Jack was married to his loving wife, Lavern for 34 years.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Patricia Turner Hallum, and Virgie Turner Leone and step-daughter Carrie Green. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Lavern Turner of Liberty, daughter Marilyn Baird and husband Jeff of Austin, TX, step-daughter Debbie Noble and husband Jimmy of Liberty, grandsons Alexander Baird of Austin, Bryce Teel of Atlanta, Georgia, Zachary Shoemaker and wife Lisa of Winnie, TX, Jeremy Shoemaker of Liberty, Jay Noble of Liberty, granddaughter Amber Noble of Liberty, and one great-grand daughter Brooklyn Shoemaker.

Visitation will be Thursday March 1 from 5pm to 8pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis in Liberty. Services for Jack Edward Turner will be Friday, March 2 at 2pm at Allison Funeral Service with burial to follow at Fairlawn cemetery in Liberty.

Perkins

Tracy Belle “Jack” Perkins, 90, of McKinney, TX, died on February 25, 2012 in McKinney, TX.

Jack was born November 11, 1921 daughter of John and Birdie Dennison in Nome, TX. Jack attended Nome High School where she graduated in 1938. She married the love of her life, James Perkins, in 1938 and spent fifty-nine years of marriage until James’ death in 1998. Jack moved to McKinney, TX and lived there for the past eleven years. Jack loved her sports. She was an excellent basketball player and loved hunting and fishing. She was a great cook and kept a great garden. Jack was family oriented loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Jack was proceeded in death by her parents, husband James, son John Martin Perkins, grandson John Martin Perkins Jr, brother Roy Dennison, sisters Oletha Lee, Wilda Briggs and Lottie Dennison. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter Judy Tedford and husband Gary of Fairview, TX, grandson Christopher Tedford and wife Kim of Fairview, TX, granddaughter Michelle Albracht and husband Dr. Jaime, great-grandchildren Abigail and Matthew Tedford, Garrett, Chandler, Zachary and Lily Kate Albracht.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 1st from 5pm to 8pm at Allison Funeral Service Chapel, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX. Graveside services will be Friday, March 2nd at 10am at Cooke cemetery in Liberty.

Johnson

Phillip Neal Johnson, 51, of Double Bayou, died Feb. 26, 2012.

Visitation will be 12Noon until funeral 2PM Mar. 03, 2012 at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, Hankamer. Interment in Whittington cemetery, Hankamer.

Mourning his departure, yet cherishing his memories are: spouse: Veronica Weaver-Johnson, sons: Eric Neal and Jordan Matthew, Parents: Rodney Sr. and Erma Johnson, brothers: Anthony Johnson (Ellen), Rodney Johnson Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ping

Edward J. Ping, born November 23, 1944 in Aberdeen, South Dakota and died in Tucson, Arizona, February, 14, 2012 following a long struggle with the devastating effects of wartime exposure to Agent Orange.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Jensen Larsen and Jack Ping.

He is survived by his wife, Harriet, of Green Valley, Arizona, His brother Scott Ping, sisters Patricia Drexler, Roxanne Ping, nephew Brian Buscemi, and niece Kelly Ping. His step-mother Eleanor Ping, and step-children Heinz Cooke and Sara Hayes. Beloved Grand Children Josie and Eli Hayes. His many friends and lifelong friend Bill Conner of Crosby, Texas

Edward, a distinguished War Veteran, awarded several honors including The Silver Star, The Bronze Star with an Oak Leaf Cluster and multiple Meritorious Air Medals, was a man who loved life and life loved him! He was an avid hunter and Fisherman, a man who knew no fear. Edward's sense of humor always on display, was infectious to all who came in contact with him. Edward was a man who was a leader and once while organizing an escape from the Viet Cong, led other prisoners to their eventual rescue. He was that kind of man, who would put others above himself. Edward went on to enjoy a successful career in real estate, leaving his mark in Crosby, Texas, where many without doubt will miss him immensely and his graciousness.

Edward, will be one of those treasured memories for many people, and will be truly missed. He undeniably left this world a better place than when he found it.

Platt-Murphy

Virginia L. Platt-Murphy, 62, of Dayton, died Friday, February 24, 2012, at her residence.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, March 1, 2012, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Virginia was born September 23, 1949 in El Paso, to parents; T. R. and Christine Carroll Turley, a former resident of Pasadena, and current resident of Dayton. She was a graduate of the South Houston High School class of 1967 and a former sales clerk for Dollar General.

Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband: L. Wayne Murphy of Dayton, son: Curtis Ray Platt of Dayton, granddaughter: Christian Platt, sisters: Susan Haywood and husband Darrell of Atascocita, Debbie Barron and husband Wayne of Houston, Faye Degetaire and husband Richard of Shepherd, and Patty McDonald and husband Wayne of Shepherd, and numerous nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Priestly-Cavalier

Stacy L. Priestly-Cavalier, 40, of Liberty, died Friday, February 24, 2012, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at the Cooke Memorial cemetery in Liberty with Frank Liddell officiating. The burial will follow thereafter. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton

Stacy was born August 27, 1971 in Texarkana, a graduate of the Liberty High School, and a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother.

Ms. Cavalier was preceded in death by her father: Johnny Wayne Priestly and grandmother: Syble Lee Priestly. She is survived by her son: Kyle Joseph “Joey” Cavalier of Liberty, mother: Kathy Priestly-Parrott and husband Dan of Liberty, brother: Sonny Priestly and Linnie Lowe of Liberty, stepsister: Breann Parrott of Daisetta, grandparents: Sarah Jo and Walt Glanville of Nash, Texas and Thomas and Shirley Cleghorn of Sacramento, CA, also numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.

Wilridge

Brock Gabriel Wilridge, 36, of Anahuac, died Feb. 25, 2012.

Services will be as follows; visitation, Mar. 03, 2012 from 9AM until funeral 11AM at First Missionary Baptist Church, 1110 Hamilton St., Anahuac, Rev. Pete Singleton, Pastor. Interment will be in Bayshore cemetery, Anahuac.
