Waller

Brandine "Brandi" Anderson Waller of Houston, Texas, died peacefully on Friday, February 3, 2012, at the age of 43, after a long struggle with cancer.

She was born in Houston, Texas on January 20, 1969. Brandi graduated from Sharpstown High School and received a Chemical Engineering degree from The University of Houston. She is survived by her husband David Waller, son John David Waller, parents Larry and Carol Anderson, siblings Larry Anderson Jr., Lisa Bertelli, her loving grandmother Choo Choo and in-laws David and Linda Waller. Brandi was the aunt to 5 nieces and 5 nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18th at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Community in Humble, Texas. Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. followed by a noon luncheon reception at the church.

Brandi will be remembered for her beautiful smile, generous heart, and her never-ending laughter. She will be missed, but never forgotten by all of the lives she touched.

Tomlinson

Cathryn Gilmore Tomlinson, 44, of Saratoga, died Tuesday February 7, 2012 at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas.

A service of remembrance will be held on Friday February 10, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Calvary Tabernacle Church of Batson with Reverend Tolbert Hudspeth officiating, interment to follow at William-Hart cemetery in Kountze. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday February 9, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. also at Calvary Tabernacle.

Born in Kountze Texas on November 29, 1967 to Darvin Gilmore and Dora Roth Cathryn was a homemaker and had lived in Saratoga many years. She was preceded in death by her father Glen Gilmore and grandmother Irene Gilmore.

Survivors are mother Dora Gilmore of Batson, husband Wade Tomlinson of Saratoga, son Chance Hatcher of Saratoga. Daughters Kayla Whisler and husband John of Saratoga, Ashley Hatcher of Dutchtown Louisiana. Brothers Randy Cochran and wife Daphnie of Batson, Scotty Gilmore and wife Charlotte of Daisetta, Brian Gilmore of Batson. Sisters Jerry Sue Jones and husband Jeff of Hull, Tammy Fregia and husband Timmy of Daisetta, aunt Joan Johnson of Kountze, and uncle Ozzie Gilmore of Kountze, granddaughter Glynna Whisler of Saratoga and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Perez

Dorothy Mae Perez, 66, of Liberty, Texas, died at her home on Sunday, February 5, 2012.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 8, 2012, from 11am until 2pm at Allison Funeral Service Chapel. The funeral service will be Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 2pm at Allison Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Reverend Danny Cheney. Burial will follow in Best cemetery in Moss Bluff, Texas.

Dorothy was born on September 11, 1945 in Crowley, Louisiana to parents, Molear Pommier and Lydia Cormier Pommier. She had resided in the area for the last six years. Dorothy was a homemaker and loved to play games with her family and friends. She was considered the “prayer warrior” of the family and loved gospel music. She loved being with her family and will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Perez was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Valson Pommier, Russell Pommier, sisters; Jean Best, Earlene Pommier and great-grandson, Steven Ray Adams. She is survived by her daughter, Roxanna Marsh and husband Joe, son, Lynn Breaux, brothers; Ray Pommier and wife Irma, and Norris Pommier, sister, Judy Cummings and husband Terrell, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis St., Liberty, Texas 77575.

Powers

Joyce M. Cryer Powers, 55, of Lonestar, died Saturday, February 4, 2012, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Longview.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the Greenville cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Joyce was born February 8, 1956 in Grand Prairie to parents; James E. Cryer and Eloise Evans, a former resident of Dayton, and has resided in Lonestar for the past five years. She was a retired sales clerk for AT & T, and enjoyed the computer, reading, quilting, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Powers was preceded in death by her father: James E. Cryer, son: Wesley Charles Cryer, and brothers: Wesley Todd Cryer and Tommy Cryer. She is survived by her husband: Barney Powers, Sr. of Lonestar, son: Murphy Green and wife Billie of Dayton, daughter: Tonya Collins and husband Milton of Dayton, son: J. L. “Bubba” Green, III and wife Cristie of Tarkington Prairie, mother: Eloise Evans Watkins of Lonestar, brothers: Jimmy Cryer of Nashville, TN and Danny Barnett of Conroe, sisters: Linda Tidwell of Pasadena, Betty Smith of Lonestar, and Nancy Landrum of Liberty, grandchildren: Courtney, Murphy, Megan, Heather, Samantha, Cody, Michael, Derick, and Alissa, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Hammond

Mavis Diane Hammond, 68, of Shepherd, TX, died Tuesday January 31, 2012.

Her life consisted of her faith and her family. She was a faithful member of Calvary Outreach of Shepherd. She loved to fish. She enjoyed playing the piano. She took in children in need of love. She was a great cook and seamstress. She did everything wholeheartedly. She was a very loving and caring sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Allen; parents, Evert and Marie Laird; brothers, Delbert Laird and Delain Laird.

She is survived by her son, Tony Lynn Hammond of Enid, OK; daughters, Elva Marie Neil and husband Mike of Beaumont, TX, Charlotte Diane Freeman and husband J.B. of Chandler, TX, Sheila Pauline Wood and husband Michael of Splendora, TX, Roberta Lynn Warren and spouse John Hooks of Kountze, TX and Tammy Wynette Hammond of Shepherd, TX; sisters, Doris Marie Denham and husband Gene of Saratoga, TX, Deloris Pauline Hatcher of Saratoga, TX, Rose Laird of Thicket, TX; grandchildren, Jami Burns, Jack Neil, Robert Kilgore, Elisabeth Richard, Jeri Hooks, Holly Garner, Ashley Beaver, Charles Warren, Shawnie Hammond, Samantha Coehn, Madison Harger, Alexus Mykell, Alex Scott and Sarah McCall; great grandchildren, Haley Strother, Kylee Martin, Kayden Whittington, Skyler Neil, Remington Beaver and Adam McCall; and many nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends at Faith and Family Funeral Service Chapel Friday February 3, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A service of remembrance is scheduled for Saturday February 4, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith and Family Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Brother Kenneth Pippin. Burial will follow at City cemetery of Saratoga.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Kilgore, Evert Doucette, Jesse Doucette, Scott Hatcher, Gary Criswell and Charles Warren.

Murray

Marjorie Ila Murray, 76, of Dayton, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2012, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with burial following at the Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Marjorie was born April 3, 1935 in Lamont, PA, to parents; Rod Murray and Eloise M. Ross, a former resident of AR and IA, and has resided in Dayton for the past 40 years. She was a graduate of Lamont High School class of 1952, a home maker, and member of the Kenefick Southern Baptist Church and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She also enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Ms. Murray was preceded in death by her father: Ralph Payne, mother: Eloise M. Ross Payne, and sons: Michael Wayne Eggleston and Rick Eggleston. She is survived by her son: Pat Eggleston and wife Barbara of Dayton, daughters: Lori Sager and husband James of Highlands and Lisa Wilson and husband Mike of Villanova, PA, brothers: James Murray of Brea, CA, Duane Murray of Mansfield, and Robert “Bob” Payne of Flagstaff, AZ, sisters: Emilie Capots of Courtland, OH, Janet Pifles of Casa Grande, AZ, and Linda Strutton of Kaufman, grandchildren: Julie Ripkowski, Ashley Jones, Patrick Eggleston, Michael Marcontell, Kendra Ponder, Lauren Wilson, Cara Wilson, Kathryn Eggleston Stieler, and Andrea Eggleston Stieler, great-grandchildren: Cameron, James, Jordan, Isabella, and one on the way, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Gray

Bernice Parthenia Gray, 98, of Anahuac, died on Monday, January 30, 2012 at Bayside Community Hospital in Anahuac with her family by her side.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and great-great-great grandmother.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Anahuac cemetery under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. A gathering of Mrs. Gray's family and friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 1st at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gray was the past owner and operator of Gray Cleaners in Anahuac. She was a member of Anahuac United Methodist Church. Mrs. Gray was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bubba" Gray; parents, A.L. Hunter and Lillie McCoy Hunter; sisters, Floriene Burford; brothers, Darrell Hunter and Ralph Hunter, B.J. Hunter and Don Hunter; grandson, Guy Lyn McClung; son-in-law, Billy McClung.

Mrs. Gray is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann McClung; grandsons, Mark McClung and Kevin McClung and wife, Diane; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Trevizo

Pedro Trevizo, 79, of Tutuaca, Chihuahua, MX, died Sunday, January 29, 2012, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held in Tutuaca, MX. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Pedro was born April 29, 1932 in Sta. Barbara Tutuaca, Chihuahua, MX, to parents; Toribio Trevizo and Maria Trevizo, and has resided in Dayton for the past year. He was a farmer and enjoyed horses, hunting, and farming.

Mr. Trevizo was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Bernardino Trevizo. He is survived by his wife: Marcelina Frias of Dayton, daughters: Armida Trevizo and husband Elias of Dayton, Rosalina Frias and husband Filiberto of WY, Ramona Frias and husband Francisco of McKinney, and Yolanda Trevizo of Dayton, sons: Victor Trevizo and wife Lucy of Dayton, Rafael Trevizo and wife Alma of Dayton, Gerardo Trevizo of Dayton, and Rodolfo Trevizo and wife Maribel of Plano, brothers: Ponsiano Trevizo of MX, Modesto Trevizo of MX, and Basilio Trevizo of MX, sisters: Ernestina Trevizo of MX, Josefina Trevizo of MX, Herlinda Trevizo of MX, and Maria Trevizo of MX, 20 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Black-Helbig

Gail D. Carlson Black-Helbig, 64, of Dayton, died Friday, January 27, 2012, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Liberty. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Gail was born May 26, 1947 in Plainfield, New Jersey, to parents; Elmer and Agnes Porkorney Carlson, a former resident of OK, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 15 years. She was a graduate of the Norwalk High School, attended nursing school, member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, an artist, salesperson, and the first female licensed pest control operator in California. She enjoyed making jewelry, sewing, other crafts, gardening, and proud of her Swedish heritage.

Mrs. Black was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughters: Haley Carter and husband Jimmy of Porter, Heather Wolstoncroft and husband Jeff of Davenport, OK, Heidi MacDonald of Davenport, OK, and Hillary Oswald and husband Tim of Dayton, brother: Alan Carlson and wife Kristina of Sweden, seven grandchildren, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

James

T.J. James, age 28, died suddenly at his home January 27, 2012.

T.J. was born in Dallas, Texas September 26, 1983 the son of Thomas James and Nora Andrews James. T.J. enjoyed making people laugh, fishing, and old cars. T.J. especially enjoyed history and politics; he loved to read books on WWII and the civil war. A true love to T.J. was his team the Dallas Cowboys.

He graduated from Liberty High School in 2002, and went on to receive his associates in Process Technology from Lee College and his Bachelors of Applied Technology in Process Operations Management Service from Brazosport College in Lake Jackson. T.J. also volunteered as a Volunteer Fire Fighter for the City of Liberty of Fire Department and a member of the Liberty Church of Christ.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents, Thomas James SR and Nora James of Liberty, sisters Angel Smart and her husband Kevin of Liberty, Crystal Alford and her husband Steven of Liberty, nieces and nephews, Kaylea Voldahl, Logan Smart, Lexi Smart, Kelsey Alford, Colton Alford, and Camden Alford. He also leaves T.J.’s “person” Stephanie Aelene Jennings. Visitation will be held Tuesday January 31, 2012 from 5-7PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas.

Funeral services will be held 10AM Wednesday February 1, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Liberty. Cremation services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Transitional Learning Center, 1528 Post Office St. Galveston, Texas 77550. .

Harris

David Lee Harris, Sr., 66, of Kenefick, died Sunday, January 29, 2012, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

David was born October 7, 1945 in Kansas City, MO, to parents; Lilburn T. and Ada Mae Peede Harris, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in the Kenefick area for the past 40 years. He was a retired electrician from the Klemp Corporation and enjoyed fishing, wood working, gardening, and spending time with his family.

Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Sheila Woods Harris, daughter: RaeDonna Harris, brother: Harold Harris, and sisters: Evelyn Stewart and Mary Rice. He is survived by his son: David L. Harris, Jr. and wife Michelle of Cleveland, daughter: Kimberly Gray of Tarkington Prairie, stepsons: Donnie Brown of Dayton, Randy Brown of Hardin, and Matthew Brown of Houston, brothers: Jim Harris of Tarkington Prairie and Jack Harris of Houston, sister: Shirley Hilton of Center, 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Carrell

Irving Brent Carrell, 65 years of age, of Houston, Texas, and formerly of Liberty, Texas died on January 15th, 2012.

Brent died from the effects of several strokes, and he will be cremated. Brent was the only child of I.B. Carrell, and Loeta Carrell of Liberty, Texas. He was born in Liberty, Texas on December 7, 1946. He attended Liberty schools from the 1st through the 12th grade and graduated from Liberty High School in 1965 and Texas A & M University with a B.S in Accounting in 1970, and Masters in Business Administration in 1971. He married Carolina Cisneros in Galveston, Texas on April 28, 1973. Their marriage license was issued by his aunt, Lela Mae Catchings, Deputy County Clerk.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. They had no children. Brent and his wife also raised Boxers obtained from the Boxer rescue organization. Brent was a CPA and business consultant in Houston. He enjoyed his hobbies of collecting antiques and his wife collected Trench Art. He will be missed by his related, aunt, cousins and neighbors.

Services will be scheduled later and his and Cal’s ashes will be spread in accordance with his directive. Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Conner

Jessie M. Conner, age 95, of Liberty, died at her home Thursday, January 26, 2012.

Jessie was born June 19, 1916 the daughter of the late Henry Thomas Conner and Minne Toney Conner. Jessie enjoyed gardening and working outside. She was a great story teller who also enjoyed reading and doing her crossword puzzles. She worked for over forty at First Liberty National Bank working as a secretary for the president and finally in the trust department. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her sisters, Audrey Barrow, Jewel Buxton, and Lois Conner. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sister Beth Buchanan of Liberty, nephews Charles Buxton of Lufkin, Henry Buxton of Sandusky, MI, and David Buchanan of Beaumont, and a niece Mindy St. Clair of Liberty. In addition she leaves numerous grand nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2PM Saturday January 18, 2012 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial to be held in Fairlawn cemetery, Liberty with Rev. Timothy A. Gruver officiating.

Faircloth

Daniel Jackson Faircloth Jr., 69, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at his residence.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Cleveland, Texas.

Daniel was born in Bronson, Florida on May 26, 1942. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the Vietnam War. He was a self-employed Master Plumber and retired after many years of service to the community. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Survivors include his wife Barbara Ann Faircloth; daughters Debbie Faircloth Beaty, Karen Faircloth, Kim Faircloth Rowell, Kelly Faircloth Johnson, and Beverly Stokley Faircloth; sons Danny Faircloth, Dwayne Westbury, Rodger Cheves, Billy Cheves, and Michael Cheves; sisters Elizabeth Brown and Lyla Faircloth Ellzey; brother A.P. MacIntosh and wife Paula; 15 grandchildren; his cousin and best friend George Bass; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members and treasured friends throughout the years.
