Hogan

Margie Ann Hogan, 65, of Dayton, died with her family by her side on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at her residence.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 22, 2012 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. A gathering of Margie's family and friends will be from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Bertha Lewis; daughters, Jamie Burton and Susie Cooley; brother, James Lewis; sister, Mavis Wood; niece, Jo Ann Hambert. She loved being on the water, traveling in their motor home, motorcycles and being outdoors.

She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Alvey Hogan of Dayton; daughter, Cynthia DeLuna and husband, Louie of Dayton; sister, Hilda Chapel and husband, Virgil of North Carolina, Barbara Dusak of Humble; grandchildren, Breanna Burton, Blake Burton, Cassie DeLuna, Stephanie DeLuna, Ruby Hogan, Ercia Hogan, Allison Hogan; great-grandchildren, Gavin Woodyard and Khloe DeLuna; stepchildren, Dean Handley and husband, John, Joel Hogan and wife, Dawn; special nephew, Joseph Dusak and a host of other family and friends.

Frazier

Deborah Delores Frazier, 56, of Sour Lake, died Monday January 16, 2012 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital of Beaumont.

She was born on October 20, 1955 in Kountze Texas to E.J. Kelley Sr. and Evelyn Juanita Oxley. Deborah had lived in Sour Lake most of her life and was a Bus Driver with 12 years of service at The Hardin Jefferson Independent School District and was a faithful and longtime member of The Apostolic Lighthouse Church of Sour Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Ralph Glenn Frazier Jr.

She is survived by her husband Glenn Frazier of Sour Lake, son Mark Christopher Frazier and wife Cassy of Sour Lake. Brothers Billy Kelley and wife Shirley of Sour Lake, Bobby Kelley and wife Pat of Sour Lake, E.J. Kelley and wife Michelle of Sour Lake. Sisters Evelyn Myrick of Sour Lake, Carol Lowrey and husband Ernie of Sour Lake, Sherry Craigen and husband Danny of DeRidder, and Donna Pricer and husband Duane of Sour Lake. Grandchildren Justin Frazier, Janson Frazier and Kaylee Frazier. A service of remembrance will be held Saturday January 21, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Apostolic Lighthouse Church of Sour Lake with Reverend M.D. Miller and Reverend Randy Davis officiating interment will follow at the Rosedale cemetery in Sour Lake. The family will be receiving friends on Friday January 20, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Apostolic Lighthouse church. Pallbearers will be Aaron Frazier, Bobby Kelley Jr, Dean Peeler, Charles Bell, Kelly Myrick, Terry Peeler. Honorary pallbearers are Keith Frazier and Ace Lang.

Simmons

John C. Simmons, 60, of Dayton, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at home surrounded by family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012, at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Liberty. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, at the church parish hall.

Family will receive friends after the service at John and Susan’s home, for a dove release ceremony at 5 p.m. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

John was born January 25, 1951 in Livingston, to parents; M. J. and Mary Beth Cox Simmons, and has resided in Dayton throughout his life.

He was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 1969, received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Lamar University in 1973, and was a State Tax Consultant and partner for Gamble-Simmons LP for 34 years.

He also served in many community service positions including; Dayton Citizen of the Year 2009, former Board Member for the Dayton City Council, Senior Member of the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department with 27 years of service including 19 years as Treasurer, City of Dayton Quality of Life Budget and Street committees and Chairman of the “Memorial Mile Project”, member and former vestry person for St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, former Chairman in 2002, Director, and member of the Dayton Chamber of Commerce, member of the Liberty-Dayton Chamber of Commerce, and past member for the Dayton Noon Lions Club.

He also enjoyed his cattle, traveling, gardening, reading, playing dominoes, movies, and especially spending time with his family and friends.

John will be remembered as a devoted son, dedicated and loving husband, proud father and grandfather.

Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his mother: Mary Beth Cox Simmons, father-in-law: John Loy Arnold, and brother-in-law: John Andrew Arnold.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years: Susan Arnold Simmons of Dayton, daughter: Lindsay Lee of Humble, sons: Adam Saffel and wife Aline of Hillsboro, OR, Nicholas Saffel and wife Marina of Atlanta, GA, and Phillip Saffel and wife Amanda of Lubbock, father: M. J. Simmons of Dayton, sisters: Rosemary Brothers and husband W. T. of Dayton and Margaret Simmons of Dayton, mother-in-law: Jeanne Arnold of Clearwater, FL, grandchildren: Regan, Natalie, Eli, and Olivia Saffel, nephew: M. J. Brothers, nieces: Katherine and Anna Brothers, many relatives, and friends.

In lieu of floral remembrances, the family requests that memorials be made to the St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church Columbarium Fund at P.O. Box 10357; 2041 Trinity Ave., Liberty, Texas 77575, in John’s name.

Tippit

Nona Nora Wolf Tippit, 97, formerly of Dayton died Monday, January 16, 2012 at her home in Sugarland.

She was born August 26, 1914 in El Campo, Texas to parents Arnold Frederick Wolf, Sr. and Paula Bender Wolf. She graduated from El Campo High School and had been a long time resident of Dayton before moving to Sugarland. Mrs. Tippit was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church and formerly attended St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Liberty where she was active in the Alter Guild. She was also a member of the Lakata Club in Dayton.

Services for Mrs. Tippit will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2012 at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Liberty with interment to follow at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Tippit was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband of 75 years, Morgan M. Tippit of Sugarland; her daughter, Karen Tippit Glass and husband Leo of Missouri City; her grandsons, Paul Morgan Glass and wife Janet of Sugarland and David Michael Glass and wife Celeste of Sugarland; her great grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Glass, Paul Michael Glass, Allyson Margarette Glass, Andrew Morgan Glass, Susannah Michael Glass, and Allen Michael Glass; her great great-grandchild, Addison Morgan Glass; her brother, Arnold Wolf, Jr. and wife Bess of Fredericksburg; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

For those who desire memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Cartee

Loretta Cartee of Sour Lake, Texas died today January 16, 2012 at age 75.

She was a loving Grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren, who she adored. She was preceded by her husband Jerry Cartee and parents Henry and Lily Mae Cook. She was survived by her children Clay Dillard of Lumberton, Doss Dillard of Sour Lake, and Terri Stroud of Collins Miss. Also her seven Grandchildren and one Great grandchild.

Her family will be receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Faith and Family Funeral Services.A service of remembrance wild be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Faith and Family Funeral home chapel in Batson, Texas, officiated by Reverend Clarence Russell. Burial will follow at Pine Ridge cemetery in Sour Lake.

Serving as pallbearers Shane Burke, Rusty Dillard, Trevor Stroud, Joe Semore, Thomas Derrick and Keegan Smith.

Tyson

Henry L. Tyson, 47, of Dayton, died Sunday, January 15, 2012, at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 19, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Dayton with burial following at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Henry was born June 30, 1964 in Orlando, FL, to parents; George W. and Joyce E. Heaberlin Tyson, a former resident of Kississime, FL, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 40 years. He was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 1982, veteran of the US Marine Corps, a patrol sergeant for the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office, the 100 Club’s Officer of the Year for 2010, and former officer for Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and Precinct 3 Harris County Constables Office. He also enjoyed collecting guns and his work.

Officer Tyson is survived by his wife of 28 years: Patty Alawine Tyson of Dayton, daughters: Editha Tyson of Austin and Miranda Tyson of Dayton, son: Henry Tyson of Dayton, parents: George W. and Joyce E. Heaberlin Tyson of Dayton, sister: Bonita Merrill and husband Bill of Houston, brother: George Tyson and wife Malinda of Austin, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of usual floral remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to the 100 Club, Inc., 5555 San Felipe St Ste 520, Houston TX 77056-2733, in Henry’s name.

Touchet

William Frank Touchet, age 58, died at his home in Richwood, Texas, Friday, January 13, 2012 with his family by his side.

William was born in Liberty, Texas May 21, 1953 the son of Frank Touchet and Effie Lorene Phillips Touchet. He worked in construction specializing in concrete; he worked for Jackson Taylor Construction, Brown and Root, National Pipe and Tube, last working for JVI Industrial as a Civil Project Manager. He enjoyed cooking, hunting, playing his guitar, and dancing. William especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother Effie Lorene Phillips Touchet, grandson Connor Touchet, and a brother in law Gerald Randy Kent.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his father Frank Touchet of Liberty, wife Elaine Touchet of Richwood, daughter Chiva Cleaver and her companion Mike of Humble, son Jacob Touchet and wife Sandy of Gatesville, sisters Bonnie Wolffe of Fort Worth, Charlotte Presnul and husband Eddie of Liberty, Agnes Hendry and husband Oscar of Liberty, brother in law Joe Kent and wife Linda of Liberty, sister in law Kelli Baucum and husband Dan of Abilene, mother and father in law Ray and Ruth Ferguson of Liberty, seven grandchildren Dustin, Chance, Tommy, Chloe, Casey, Ashlyn, and Cera. In addition he leaves numerous nieces, nephews and a host of additional family and friends. William will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Tuesday January 17, 2012 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N Travis Liberty, Texas. A graveside service will be held 2PM Wednesday January 18, 2012 in Guedry cemetery, Batson, Texas.

Hotaling

William James Hotaling, age 16, died Friday January 13, 2012 as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

William was born in Baytown, March 13, 1995 the son of Bernard James Hotaling and Jeanetha Gayle Hanson Hotaling. William was a junior at Liberty High School and was a talented baseball player. He enjoyed video games and all sports.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Barbara Hotaling and an Uncle Robert J. Hanson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his father Bernard James Hotaling and mother Jeanetha Gayle “Cissy” Hotaling both of Liberty, sister Jamielynn Denise Hotaling of Liberty, maternal grandparents Jack and Janette Hanson of Dayton, paternal grandfather Bernard Hotaling of Oklahoma City, aunts Ann Hotaling of Daisetta, Jane Duncan of Lacey, WA, Karen Garcia of San Antonio, uncles Allan Hotaling of Fort Worth, Sonny Hotaling of Liberty, and Jack Hanson Jr. of Wilmington, DE. In addition he leaves a host of friends and family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held for William Monday January 16, 2012 at North Main Baptist Church in Liberty from 6-9PM. Funeral services to be held 10AM Tuesday January 17, 2012 at North Main Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the William James Hotaling Memorial Fund c/o Prosperity Bank 520 Main St. Liberty, Texas or any other Prosperity Bank location. .

Caskey

Jan Powell Caskey, 67, of Dayton, died Saturday, January 14, 2012, at the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Jan was born July 16, 1944 in Monahans, to parents; C. B. “Buck” and Geraldine L. Hartman Powell, a former resident of Atascocita, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 10 years. She was a graduate of the Ft. Stockton High School class of 1963, attended college in Midland/Odessa, a retired correctional officer from T.D.C.J. Plain State Jail, a former EMT for Ft. Stockton, and a former volunteer for the Texas Gay Rodeo Association. She also enjoyed camping, gardening, ceramics, and stained glass.

Ms. Caskey was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her life partner: Carrie Uhrich of Dayton, sons: Vance Caskey and wife Heather of Pearl River, LA and Kraig Caskey and wife Quechi of Little Elm, sisters: Carla Barrett of Plano and Gwen Sackett of Groesbeck, brother: Rodney Powell of AK, grandchildren: Bryson, Brock, Trevor, and Kassidy Caskey, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of usual floral remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, Texas 77210-4486, to further leukemia research in Jan’s Name.

Hairston

Merle D. Westberry Hairston, 63, of Killeen, died Wednesday, January 11, 2012, in Dayton.

Visitation and services will be held from noon to 4 p.m., Sunday, January 15, 2012, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Merle was born October 26, 1948 in El Paso, to parents; Robert B. and Nora C. Cambell Westberry. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, macramé, drawing portraits, and collecting.

Mrs. Hairston was preceded in death by her father: Robert Berlin Westberry and brother-in-law: Doyle Buchanan. She is survived by her sons: Kenneth Hairston of Dayton and Richard Hairston and wife Michelle of Dayton, mother: Nora C. Cambell Westberry of Temple, sisters: Berlin Morgan and husband Freddie of Rogers, Evelyn Taylor and husband William of North Zulch, Jolie Buchanan of Rogers, Charlene Fisher and husband Ron of Valley Center, Dorene Holmes and husband Craig of Covington, GA, Francine Tucker and husband Paul of Manor, and Tammy Greensage of Rogers, brother: Robert Lee Westberry and wife Tina of Red Ranger, special friend: Pat O’Hara of Belton, grandchildren: Kenneth M. Hairston, Frederick M. Hairston, and Cassandra P. Hairston, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Boudro

Linn B. “Pa Pa Boodie” Boudro, Sr., 54, of Kenefick, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at the Veterans Hospital in Houston.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2012, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Linn was born February 27, 1957 in Dayton, to parents; L. Bruntz and Cora Lorine Armstrong Boudro, and has resided in the Dayton area throughout his life. He was a retired crew chief in the aeronautical field, veteran of the US Air Force, attended New Life Church in Kenefick, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, auto races, gardening, and fireworks.

Mr. Boudro was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 38 years: Linda Noe Boudro of Kenefick, sons: Linn B. Boudro, Jr. of Dayton and Christopher Boudro of Kenefick, sister: Carolyn Davis and husband Skeeter of Nacogdoches, sisters-in-law: JoAnn Gutierrez and husband Mike of Dayton, Jeannie McDowell of LA, Tina Tester of AR, and Shirley Creel of Baytown, brother-in-law: Joel Noe of Baytown, grandchildren: Courtney, Kaitlynn, Cerice, and Zoe, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Olson

Johnny Lee Olson, age 58, died January 6, 2012 at his home.

Johnny was born February 14, 1953 in Rockport, Texas. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Linda Joyce Olson of Liberty, daughters Natalie Scott of Port Arthur, Laura Smith of Liberty, Kimberly Metcalfe of Vermont, son William Lee Bryant Jr. of Liberty. In addition he leaves thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Cremation services were entrusted to Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N Travis Liberty, Texas.
