Carlile

Ronald Christopher Carlile, 44, of Mont Belvieu, died Sunday, October 09, 2011 in Mont Belvieu.

He was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother and first love.

Funeral services will be at 3:30 P.M. on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the First United Methodist of Mont Belvieu under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Interment will follow in Methodist cemetery in Mont Belvieu. A gathering of Ronald’s family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

He loved hunting, fishing, cooking and football.

Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Carlile and is survived by his daughter, Ashleigh Carlile Clack and her husband John Luke; sons, Seth and Jaxson Carlile; mother, Betty Carlile; sisters, Linda Cassano and her husband, Tom; brothers, Keith Carlile, Mike Carlile and his wife, Brenda; soon to be first grandchild, Ashlyn Clack; first love and mother of his children, Stacie Carlile; mother and father-in-laws, Peggy and Jack Parris.

Cross

Paul Eugene Cross, 62, died at his home in Houston on October 10. Born in Liberty on October 19, 1948, he was the son of Mitchell R. and Maydell Plemmons Cross.

He graduated from Forest Park High School in Beaumont in 1967, and from Lamar University in 1985. He had a long career as an innovative and popular teacher, first in the Tarkington ISD, and most recently in the Houston ISD.

Mr. Cross is survived by his children and grandchildren, Derek Cross of Kerhonkson, NY, and daughters Freyja and Niomi; Jeremy Cross and daughter-in-law Misty Schanfish of Trinity and son Aden; and Sara Cross Te son-in-law Peter Te of Burnet and daughter Lucy.

There will be a visitation at the Parish Hall of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church at 1:00PM on Saturday, October 15, followed by the funeral at 2:00PM. Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas has been entrusted with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Paul Cross Memorial Theater Scholarship at Challenge Early College High School.

Baldwin

Patricia Ann Baldwin “Tootsie”, 56, of Dayton, Texas, died Monday October 3rd, 2011 in Dayton.

Tootsie was born November 21, 1954 in Dayton Texas to parents Wash and Eldora Baldwin. Tootsie was a lifelong resident of Dayton, Texas who enjoyed cooking, playing dominos, listening to music, spending time with her friends, family, children, and grandchildren.

She was a loving grandmother, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Services for Patricia will be Wednesday, October 12, 2011. Viewing will begin at 9am-11am at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Dayton, Texas with the funeral following at 11 am. Interment will follow at Ace cemetery in Dayton under the directions of Wells Funeral Service, Liberty.

She was preceded in death by her parents Wash and Eldora Baldwin. She is survived by her companion and very good friend Lee Phillips; her brothers: Pete and wife Agnes Williams of Houston, Thomas Williams of Dayton, and Donald Ray and wife Debra Baldwin of Liberty. Her sister Doris and husband Leo Hudson of Silsbee. Her son Marcus and wife Rachel Baldwin of Dayton, her daughters: Brandy and husband David Schofield of Dayton, Dominique Baldwin of Dayton, and Whitney Moore of Baytown. Grandchildren: Elizabeth Baldwin, Nicholas Henderson, Ivaj Turner, Traveon Baldwin, and Gabriella Schofield; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Noack

Vivian G. Gray Noack, 74, of Taylor, died Thursday, October 6, 2011, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 13, 2011, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton with burial following at Ryan cemetery in Tarkington Prairie. Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. to 9 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Vivian was born December 31, 1936 in Encinal, to parents; Benny and Emily Mager Gray, and was a former resident of Houston and Las Vegas. She was a retired apartment manager, former employee of Mac Haik Chevrolet in their title department, and bowling league member. She also enjoyed crocheting and gardening.

Mrs. Noack was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years: Wayne J. Noack, parents, and all of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son: Larry Hidalgo of Taylor, daughters: Debbie Monahan and husband David of Houston, Lou Anna Walker and husband Clint of McKinney, Chris Smith of Weatherford, and Terry McCan and husband David of Crossroads, grandchildren: Jamie, Derrick, Dana, Jason, Page, and Trinity, and numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

Swearingen

Brenda Kay Swearingen, 57, of Port Neches, died Friday, October 7, 2011, at the Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 10, 2011, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton with burial following at Hardin Chapel cemetery in Hardin. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Brenda was born December 18, 1953 in Beaumont to parents; W. W. Swearingen and Louise M. Mueller, a former resident of Liberty, and resident of Port Neches. She attended Alvin High School, was a retired broker for Smith-Barney, and was Methodist by faith. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading, cooking, and especially spending time with her family.

Miss Swearingen was preceded in death by her husband: Donnie Anderson, father: W. W. Swearingen, mother: Louise M. Mueller Allen, father: Alonzo “Lonnie” Allen, Jr., and brothers: Byron and Larry Swearingen, and Bryan Allen. She is survived by her brothers: Larry G. Allen and wife Wanda of LaBelle, Harold W. Allen and wife Debbie of LaBelle, James Fredrick Allen and wife Stephanie of Port Neches, and Michael Swearingen of Liberty, mother: Neeta Swearingen of Liberty, nieces: Ashley N. Allen Castrogiovanni and husband Adam of Germany, Brittany L. Allen of LaBelle, Misty Sommer and husband Greg of Conroe, Telicia Swearingen of Atmore, AL, great nieces and nephews: Hailey, Gracie, Destiny, Devon, Gregory, Wyatt, and Presley, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Oxner

Darryl Keith Oxner, age 48, of Cleveland, Texas, died Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at his residence. He was born January 2, 1963 in Houston, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Katrina Oxner; mother, Sue Hale; daughter, K.C. Caldwell; sons, Richard Oxner and Chris Oxner; sisters, Suzanne Collums and Michelle Harris; brother, Larry Oxner; grandchild, Chase Daniel Oxner (and one on the way, Ethan Tyler Caldwell); nephews, Joseph Culpepper, Melvin Ward, Terry and Micheal Powell; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members and treasured friends.

The family will welcome family and friends for visitation Monday, October 10, 2011, 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Tim Collins and Bro. Charles Burton will preside over funeral services being held Tuesday, October 11, 2011, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel with interment following at Morgan cemetery.

Pallbearers include Richard Oxner, Terry Powell, Chris Oxner, Cody Graham, Joseph Culpper, Kelvin Parker, Michael Powell, and Troy Caldwell; honorary pallbearers include, Larry Oxner, David Harris, Nick Collums, Jerry Ward, Tim Collums, Calvin Ward, and Jesse Alverado.

Henderson

Funeral Services for Edna Henderson, 91, of Houston, Texas, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 8, 2011, at St. Miles Missionary Baptist Church, with the Reverend Ervin Victoria, officiating and Reverend A. B. Walker, Eulogist, with burial in Wells Memorial cemetery, Liberty.

A native of Beaumont, Mrs. Henderson was a homemaker who spent many years as a resident of Ames, Texas. She passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital Houston.

She is survived by five daughters; Betty Thibodeaux of Beaumont, Judy Walker of Houston, Alice Faye Owens also of Houston, Patricia Smith and Mary Jo Smith, both of Baytown; one sister: Eloise Ward of Beaumont; eighteen grandchildren; forty five great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Gibson

William Otis W.O. Gibson Jr., 87, of Liberty, died on Thursday, September 29, 2011 in San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown. W.O. was a loving father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Funeral services will be in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 1, 2011. Interment will follow in Oakdale cemetery in Daisetta. A gathering of W. O.'s family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the funeral home.

W. O. was preceded in death by his wife, Alene Marie Gibson; and son, Larry Wayne Gibson; parents, William and Annie Gripon Gibson Sr.; brother, Calvert Gibson. W. O. loved watching football and baseball. He served his country in WWII in the U.S. Air Force.

W.O. is survived his daughters, Linda Marie Gibson of Liberty, Carol "Penny" Fullbright and husband Jimmy of Houston; grandchildren, Dave Fullbright and wife, Jan, and Kris Gibson and Dawn. Sister, Analene Karr of Houston; brothers, Ronald Gibson of Whitney, TX, and Leroy Gibson and wife Dorothy of Auroa, CO; great grandchildren, Monica, Hunter, Faith; and a host of other family and friends.

Johnson

Archelene J. New Johnson, 81, of Cleveland, died Thursday, September 29, 2011, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 3, 2011, at the the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Cleveland. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland.

Archelene was born December 16, 1929 in Houston, to parents; LeRoy New and Marguerite Corley, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in the Cleveland area for the past 22 years. She retired as a secretary from Stauffer Chemical, a former elementary school tutor and hospice volunteer, a steadfast friend, a devoted wife, and tireless mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and loving sister.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her father: LeRoy New, mother: Marguerite Corley Hopkins, and grandson: Colin McCarty. She is survived by her husband of 44 years: James “Ralph” Johnson of Cleveland, son: Stanley McCarty and wife Isabel of Cleveland, brother: Jimmy New of Santa Fe, sister: Zella Wallace and husband Calvin of Santa Fe, grandchildren: Christopher McCarty, Casey Hurtt, Kimberley Denson, and Kellie Eleby, great-grandchildren: Chris McCarty, Marguerite McCarty, Darrin McCarty, Araven “Missy” Eleby, Colin Hurtt, Alena Denson, Kristiana Denson, Ty Hurtt, Mikala Denson, and Chris Denson, Jr., granddaughter-in-law: Lydia Spencer, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Farmer

Jerry “Jeri” Eyvonne Pyron Farmer, 69, of Point Blank, died Thursday, September 29, 2011 in Conroe.

Mrs. Farmer was born July 15, 1942 in Minden, Louisiana to parents Winford Wade and Donna Mae White Pyron. She was a 1961 graduate of Pasadena High School and attended Houston Business College. Before moving to Point Blank in 2004 Jeri had lived in the Crosby area for 22 years and worked for Diamond Shamrock/ISK before retiring. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crosby, the Catholic Daughters, and the Quilting Guild in Huntsville.

Jeri enjoyed painting, quilting, playing dominoes, gardening, fishing and most of all her grandchildren and family.

Services for Mrs. Farmer will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 3, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crosby. Interment will follow at Heirlawn cemetery in Dayton under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Pace-Stancil.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Donald Pyron. She is survived by her husband of 48 years: Dalton Earl Farmer of Point Blank; her son: Dalton Farmer, Jr. and wife Michelle of Magnolia, her daughter: Denise Farmer & life partner Rene Eitel of Fannett; her grandchildren: Dalton Farmer, III, Hayden Blake Farmer, Samuel Wade Farmer, and Alec Reed Farmer.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Clopton

Annie Faye Wade Clopton, 83, of Huffman, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 in Livingston, Texas.

Mrs. Clopton was born September 8, 1928 in Dayton, Texas to parents John Wallace Wade and Leatha Ann Tillery Wade. She was a long time resident of Huffman where she raised her family.

Services for Mrs. Clopton will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland. Interment will follow at Rosewood cemetery in Humble. Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, September 30, 2011 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Clopton was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands: Rex Otto McCrary and Claude Clopton; her sons: Glenn McCrary, Troy McCrary, Patrick Clopton, Danny Clopton, Rodney Clopton, and Jerry Clopton; her daughters: Melissa Faye McCrary and Diane Clopton; and her grandson: John Wayne McCrary. She is survived by her sons: Wayne McCrary and wife Pinkie, Cecil McCrary and wife Enedina, Karl McCrary and wife Melissa, Darl McCrary and wife Jeanette, Ty McCrary, Larry Clopton, Barry Clopton, and Norman Clopton; her daughter: Dortha Miller; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Cordova

Erric Jason Cordova, age 35, died Saturday, September 24, 2011 in a motor vehicle accident.

Erric was born in Iowa August 14, 1976 the son of Manual Cordova and Linda Snyder Watson. He last worked with Targa as a Maintenance Supervisor, he worked previously as an online leak repairman for numerous contractors.

He leaves his wife Alexis Cordova of Liberty, son Andrew Jason Cordova, daughters Ashlyn Nicole and Addysn Mae Cordova, father Manual Cordova, mother Linda Watson and her husband Bob, paternal grandmother Crecencia Cordova, half brothers, Michael Cordova and Brian Buster, and a half-sister Jeannene Buster-Clark.

Cremation services have been entrusted to Allison Funeral Service. A visitation service will be held from 6PM-7PM with a rosary Service will be held 7PM Friday September 30, 2011 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home 8200 Old Brownsville Rd. Corpus Christi, TX . 78415.

Funeral Services to be held 11AM Saturday October 1, 2011 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. A Reception for the family will be held in Liberty, on Monday October 3, 2011, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church Parish Hall located at 2041 Trinity Ave. Liberty, TX 77575 from 4:00 - 7:00PM.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Erric Jason Cordova Memorial Fund at any Prosperity Bank location.

Broussard

Gladys M. Broussard, 75, of Houston, formerly of Raywood, died Saturday, September 24, 2011.

A visitation will be held Saturday morning, October 1, 2011, from 8:30am until 10:30am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Raywood, Texas. There will be a Rosary at 10:30am at the church with the funeral services following at 11:00am. The officiant will be Reverend Paschal Ezeihuoma. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery.

Gladys was born on April 5, 1936, in Liberty, Texas, to parents Zeno Arceneaux Sr. and Emily Guillory Arceneaux. She was very active in her community. Gladys enjoyed family events, socials and school activities. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed gardening. She was an excellent cook and extraordinary baker. Gladys enjoyed outdoor activities. She enjoyed going to the beach, crabbing, fishing and picnicking. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many who will be missed by many.

Mrs. Broussard was preceded in death by her parents, and four brothers, Milton, Nelson, Jules and Wilbert Arceneaux, and a granddaughter Michelle Kerley. She is survived by her daughters; Merinda Flakes, Sarah Broussard, Mary Broussard, Serena Wilder and Berna Freeland, grandchildren; Ricky Flakes Jr., Krystal Flakes, Ronnie Kerley, Michael Freeland and Randy Kerley, great-grandchildren; Israel Rivera, Carlito Rivera and Brysen Kerley and brother; Zeno Arceneaux Jr.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 10900-B Stonelake Blvd, Suite 320, Austin, Texas 78759. Arrangements are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service.

Stone

Howard L. Stone, 87, of Dayton, died Sunday, September 25, 2011, at the Triumph Hospital in Baytown.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church with burial following at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Howard was born September 18, 1924 in Nacogdoches, to parents; Lonnie and Mary Pearl Stone, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 62 years. He was a graduate of the Nacogdoches High School class of 1943 and obtained his Masters Degree at Stephen F. Austin State University. He was a veteran of the United States Navy with service during WW II and was a sixth grade teacher for the Dayton I.S.D. Mr. Stone was former president of the Dayton State Bank. He served on the Dayton City Council, was a member of the American Legion Post #512, Nolan D. Pickett VFW Post #5621, Dayton Masonic Lodge #824, the Elks Lodge, and Magnolia Ridge Country Club. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he had served as the chairman for the sanctuary building committee. He also enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing, his cats, working in the yard, and supporting numerous community activities.

Mr. Stone was preceded in death by his parents, son: Stephen Patrick Stone, sister: Opal King, and brother-in-law: W. D. Thames, MD. He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Dollie D. Stone of Dayton, sister: Flora O’Quinn and husband Billy of Lufkin, sister-in-law: Sarah Thames, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of usual floral remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church at 106 S. Cleveland, Dayton, Texas 77535.
