James “Buddy” Oliver Dean, age 60, died on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 12:54 p.m.

He was born June 7, 1951 in Woodville, Texas to parents, James R. and Lorene Dean who preceded him in death along with his grandparents, William Oliver Dean, Mary Jane “Molly” Plaster, James Barnett, and Laura Susann “Katt” Barnett.

The family will welcome family and friends Thursday, September 15, 2011, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Tim Davis of Bethel Baptist Church will preside over funeral services being held Friday, September 16, 2011 1:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with graveside services at 4:00 p.m., Camp Ground cemetery, Woodville, Texas, Friday, September 16, 2011.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Chapman Dean; daughters, Brandi Dean, Dana Fowler and husband, Jimmy, Carrie McGinnis, Shannon Bailey; brother, Russell Dean and wife, Donna; sisters, Janie Haney and husband, Jimmy, Nita Hardin and husband, Kenny, Lisa Dean, and Lavina McCoy; grandchildren, Kristina, Arren, Peter, Chelsea, Mathew, Zachary, Paige, Amanda and Samantha; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other cherished family members and treasured friends.

Bracewell

Max “John” Bracewell, Sr., 71, of Dayton, died Monday, September 12, 2011, in Baytown.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2011, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with burial following at the Fairlawn cemetery in Liberty. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

John was born May 31, 1940 in Groves, to parents; Carl, Sr. and Elora Norris Bracewell, a former resident of Orange, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past ten years. He was a graduate of the Liberty High School, a veteran of the US Marine Corps with service during Vietnam, a retired supervisor for Asplundh Expert Tree Co., and a former mechanic. He also enjoyed crafts and fishing.

Mr. Bracewell was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Judy Ann Sanders Bracewell, sisters: Ann Skaggs and Maxine Smith, and brothers: Lee Roy, Vernon, Eugene, and David Bracewell. He is survived by his sons: Max J. Bracewell, Jr. and wife Libby of Baytown and Michael J. Bracewell and wife Kimberly of Bandera, brothers: Buddy Bracewell of Dayton and Carl Bracewell, Jr. of Liberty, sisters: Dorothy Nugent of Liberty, Louise Quimby of Liberty, and Carolyn Maddox of Liberty, grandchildren: Katherine J. Bracewell, Fallon S. Sheffield, Brittany M. Deconge, and Lauren R. Bracewell, great-grandchildren: Sean Max Sheffield and Julius L. Simien, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Yarbrough

Brenda Kay Gilbert Yarbrough, 64, of Huffman, died Sunday, September 11, 2011, peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

She was born July 2, 1947 in Goose Creek, Texas to parents Douglas Sam and Clara Kimble Rhodes Gilbert and was a 1965 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown. She was a longtime resident of Huffman where she was owner of the Tele-Made Medical Supply. Brenda was very creative. She enjoyed sewing, painting, building and gardening. Most of all she loved her family and enjoyed supporting her husband Daniel in all of his horse rides.

Services for Mrs. Yarbrough will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Huffman cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law, Glen Yarbrough, Sr. and her brother-in-law, Billy Plante. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Daniel Raye Yarbrough of Huffman; her sons: Brian Marcus Blackburn of Huffman, Troy Glynn Blackburn of Huffman, and Cory Raye Yarbrough of Huffman; her grandchildren: Payton, William, and Luke Blackburn, Mitchell, Logan, Jake & Mason Blackburn, Ethan and Seth Yarbrough; her sisters: Pauline Brister and husband Don of Liberty, Mary Skyrla and husband Roy of Angleton; brother: Doug E. Gilbert; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 6977 Main Street, Houston, Texas 77030.

McAlister

Margaret L. Dale McAlister, 93, of Conroe, died Saturday, September 10, 2011, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at the Splendora cemetery in Splendora. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland.

Margaret was born November 22, 1917 in Newport, AR, to parents; Richard “Tobe” and Nellie Thomas Dale, and was a former resident of Cleveland. She was a homemaker, high school graduate, and enjoyed gardening, sewing, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Ms. McAlister was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Albert McAlister, Sr., granddaughter: Donna Orr, brothers: Robert Thomas and Albert Dale, and son-in-law: James Orr. She is survived by her daughter: Brenda Orr of Conroe, son: Albert McAlister, Jr. and wife Loretta of Garland, grandchildren: Kenneth, Mark, Susan, Jaime, Denise, and P.J., 17 great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Huff

James Michael Huff, age 60, of Cleveland, Texas, died Saturday, September 10, 2011.

He was born April 12, 1951 in Monticello, Ark. to Joseph Mack and Mildred Tranthan Huff.

Survivors include his loving wife, Carolyn Huff; sons, Leo Huff and wife, Summer, and Brian Huff; sisters, Connie Skinner and husband, Charlie, Clarrissa Milton and Jerry Seabaugh; brothers, Jerry and Diana, David and Beth, Fred and Carla, Jeff and Pam and Buddy; grandchildren, Nathaniel and Evelynn; six nephews, three nieces and many other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2011, 10:00 a.m. -9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Rev. Roger Dragg will preside over Graveside services being held Wednesday, September 14, 2011, 3:00 p.m. at Pace Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens cemetery.

Davis

Gladys “Marilyn” Rusk Davis, 76, of Liberty, died Friday, September 9, 2011, at the Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital in Humble.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 12, 2011, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Marilyn was born April 9, 1935 in Pasadena to parents; David L. and Newell Muckelroy Rusk, a former resident of Gun Barrel City, and has resided in Liberty for the past eight years. She was a graduate of the Pasadena High School class of 1952, had attended business school, was a member of the Women’s Business Association, and attended the First United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed playing dominoes, reading, flowers, travel, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents and brother: Cecil Rusk. She is survived by her husband of 27 years: Marvin Davis of Liberty, sons: David Sanford and wife Connie of Troup and Rink Sanford and wife Shari of Sacramento, CA, brothers: Benny Rusk and wife Linda of Liberty and Anthony Rusk and wife Judi of Austin, sisters: Gytha McNair of Dayton and Aileen Evans of Austin, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Eddlemon

Amanda Rae “Mandy” Eddlemon, 43, of Normangee, died Thursday, September 8, 2011, at the Madison St. Joseph Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 11, 2011, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Ryan cemetery in Tarkington Prairie. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Mandy was born February 14, 1968 in Dayton and has resided in the Normangee area for the past 10 years. She was a homemaker and baptized at the Grace Bible Church. She enjoyed cooking, crafts, gardening, decorating, and will be remembered as a mother to many and the family supervisor.

Mrs. Eddlemon was preceded in death by her grandparents: J. E. and Ruby Shipman, sisters: Brenda Carol and Tanya Lynn Croft, and uncle: Johnny Shipman. She is survived by her husband of 21 years: Kevin Eddlemon of Normangee, son: Klint Eddlemon of Normangee, mother: Bobbie Sue Shipman Banik and husband Melvin, Sr. of Flynn, sisters: Tammy Hutsen of Madisonville, Maranda Croft of Flynn, and Kandy Humphrey and husband Larry of Flynn, brothers: Jr. Banik of Flynn and James Banik and wife June of Deer Park, mother-in-law: Jean Clark of Coldspring, her faithful daughter: Lucy Lu Lu, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Fields

Nick George Fields, of Conroe, Texas, died on August 23, 2011.

He was born in Houston, TX, to George and Isbel Fields. Nick was preceded in death by his parents, George and Isbel Fields; his brother, Angelus Fields; wife of 35 years Marcia Fields; and son Nick Fields Jr. He was survived by his sister Dorothy Fecher; his children, Richard Fields; Rebecca Smith; Paul Fields; Suzanne Robertson; Greggary Fields; 16 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Nick would take the bus to the Veteran's Hospital when he was just 10 years old and would sing to the Veterans. At the age of 13 he had a radio show called the Nick and Connie Show on KNUZ in Houston. He enlisted in the Army at 17 during the Korean Conflict. He received a commendation for organizing entertainment for the troops traveling overseas. Nick was a musician by trade, his stage name was Danny Apollo, and he played all over the country and Canada. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and special friend.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at the Houston National cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive Houston, TX 77038 on September 9, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. where he will be interned. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the volunteers at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center.

Cheselka

Janet T. 'Jan' Mehling Cheselka, 70, of Liberty, died Monday, September 5, 2011, at her residence.

There will be a gathering for family and friends at Jan's residence at 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 9, 2011. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Jan was born March 12, 1941 in Duluth, MN, was a former resident of Mt. Belvieu, and has resided in the Liberty area for the past 37 years. She held a bachelor's degree in psychology, studied criminal justice, was a former police officer in Florida, former volunteer for T.V.E. and member of the Moss Bluff VFD, and a retired security guard from Bayer Chemical. She also enjoyed horses, trail rides, flea markets, and playing dominoes and cards.

Mrs. Cheselka was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years: Ernie Cheselka, son: Jerry Lee Cheselka, and mother: Mary Eleanor Courtney. She is survived by her sons: Jason Willis of Liberty, David Willis of FL, and Jeff Willis of FL, daughter: Debbie Willis of FL, stepfather: Joe Poncarelli of FL, brothers: Terry Miller of Pasadena and John Courtney, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Harrison

James Edgar Harrison, 55, of Liberty, died at his home on Friday, September 2, 2011. He was a loving brother, uncle.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Bacliff, TX.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Harrison and Audrey Johnson Hendricks; brother, Michael Dean Harrison. James was the past owner of Better Byte Computers in Sealy and Columbus, TX.

James is survived by his brothers, William Harrison; Randy Harrison and wife, Stephanie; and a host of other family and friends.

Guillory

A Memorial Service honoring the life of Clayton Guillory, 55, of Dayton, will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM, in Wells Memorial Chapel, Liberty.

A native of Ames, he attended public school in Liberty and graduated from Liberty High School.

Clayton leaves to cherish his memory his parents: Leroy, Sr. and Rose Guillory; his wife; Meredith Lamas Guillory; five children: Clayton Guillory, Jr., of Houston, Fabian Eli Luke Guillory, of Cleveland, Rachel Guillory of Dallas, A'Aliyah Rose Guillory and Danielle Simmons, both of Cleveland; five brothers: Leroy Jr., Joseph, and Walter Guillory, all of Raywood, Donald Ray Guillory of Daisetta, and Walden Guillory of Devers; three sisters: Gertie and Beatrice Guillory both of Raywood and Shirley David of Ames; three grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Arrangements Entrusted to: Wells Funeral Service, Liberty.

Garner

Geral Nelson Garner, 45, of Dayton, died Sunday, September 4, 2011, at the Triumph Hospital in Houston.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Geral was born January 13, 1966 in Montgomery, Louisiana, to parents; Loyd, Sr. and Pearleen Lawrence Garner, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past seven years. He was a former manager for Gehan Homes of Houston and enjoyed fishing.

Mr. Garner was preceded in death by his father: Loyd Garner, Sr. and brothers: Loyd, Jr. and William Garner. He is survived by his wife of 20 years: Terri Griffith Garner of Dayton, daughters: Crystal Lynn Garner of Dayton and Laci Delatte of LA, mother: Pearleen Lawrence Garner of LA, mother-in-law: Beverly Garner of Dayton, sisters: Remona Blood of LA, Karen Sue Hall of LA, Virginia Rominger of LA, Margo Johnson of LA, and Amanda Silmon of LA, two grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Bauerle

David Lynn Bauerle, 62, of Dayton, died Friday, September 2, 2011, at his residence.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

David was born April 18, 1949 in Utica, NY, to parents; Herbert R. and Edna Bulcum Bauerle, a former resident of Oklahoma, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 12 years. He was a superintendent in construction for Brown and Root and international worker for KBR of Houston, attended the First United Methodist Church, and enjoyed old cars, gardening, boating, jewelry making, and carpentry.

Mr. Bauerle was preceded in death by his father: Herbert R. Bauerle. He is survived by his wife: Willa E. 'Sunny' Forrest of Dayton, son: David 'Dee' Bauerle, Jr. of SC, stepdaughter: Tammy Souther and husband Gary of OK, stepson: Mark Zareski and wife Diane of NC, mother: Edna Bulcum Bauerle of SC, brother: Bruce Bauerle and wife Connie of San Augustine, sister: Gale Livingston and husband Charles of SC, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Silhavy

Agnes Silhavy, a long-time resident of the Liberty area, died Thursday the 25th of August at Magnolia Place Health Care Center in Liberty, Texas.

Agnes was born in Daisetta, Texas on July 31, 1928. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Hollis and Rosie Hunt, six brothers, Hollis, Ernest, Bill, Boyd, Allen (Pooch), and Jack Hunt, and one sister, Joyce Doris, her first husband, Frank Weaver and second husband of 49 years, Frank Silhavy.

Agnes was a home maker most of her life. She loved to work in her yard and enjoyed painting roses. Agnes had a tender heart and a gentle spirit and was loved by all who came to know her.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Weaver, of Liberty; her son, Frank 'Buddy' Silhavy and his wife Debbie, of Porter; her daughter Nelda Perkins, of Lexington, Kentucky; her grandchildren Andrew, Phillip, Ryan, Amy, Jamie, Dylan, and John; and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Corine Kleim and husband Mac, and Little Littlefield and husband T.J.; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial Services were held on Saturday, August 27th at the Hardin United Methodist Church, officiated by Reverend Gideon Watson. Special music was presented by Jay Cantu of the Liberty Opry, and Marilyn Dodd, pianist.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Hardin United Methodist Church-Sunday School Building Fund at P. O. Box 134, Hardin, Texas 77561 or to Magnolia Place Health Care Center-Activity Fund, 1620 Magnolia, Liberty, Texas 77575.

Wells

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for James Wendell Wells, 84, of Liberty, at 10 AM on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, with the Reverend Monsignor Patrick Roland Wells, as celebrant, with burial in Wells Memorial cemetery, Liberty.

A native of Liberty, 'Wendell' was the third of five children born to Luther T. Wells, Sr. and Stella Wickliff Wells. He attended elementary school at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic School, in Ames, Texas. He graduated from Liberty Training High School in Liberty. He attended Prairie View A & M College and went on the serve in the United States Army. Wendell lived most of his adult life in Los Angeles, California, where he owned and operated a Union 76 gas station. In 1959 he married Delores Martin, who precedes him in death. He is also preceded in by his parents, two sisters: Helen Goudeau and Doris Jenkins and one brother: Luther T. Wells, Jr.

Visitation will be held at the church from 9 AM until time of service.

Wendell leaves to cherish his memory three children; Kenneth Douglas (Kathy) Wells, Felicia (Frank) Williams, and James Wendell Wells, Jr.; six grandchildren: Allison, Kenneth Michael, Makana, Noah, Micah, and Matthew, one brother: Rev. Monsignor Patrick Roland Wells; one sister-in-law: Bennie Lee Wells, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Final Arrangement: Wells Funeral Service, Liberty.
