Kelley

Dan Ward Kelley, 75, of Dayton, died Saturday, July 2, 2011, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Linney cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Dan was born April 5, 1936 in Livingston, to parents; Rufus W. and Delia Dykes Kelley, and was a former resident of Cleveland, and has resided in Dayton for the past 45 years. He was a retired operator for Liberty County Precinct 4 and enjoyed spending time with family, going to the lake, and sitting in his swing drinking coffee.

Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 43 years: Dorothy Sasser Kelley, sons: Henry and Johnny Kelley, sister: Ruth Kelley, and brothers: Carl, Rudolph, Andy, and Charlie Kelley. He is survived by his sons: Dan R. “Goo” Kelley and wife Carrie of Dayton and Terry Dudley and wife Sheryl of Hardin, daughters: Dorothy Burdette and husband Phillip of Dayton, Diana Dudley of Dayton, Lizzie Remmers and husband Archie of Dayton, and Nell Kelley and husband Mike of Dayton, sisters: Jensey Burge of Livingston and Martha Murphy of Corrigan, grandchildren: Keri Burdette, Bobby Remmers, Rhonda Wolfe, Johnny Armstrong, Henry Armstrong, Alan Kelley, Jason Kelley, Johnny Dudley, Kelly Grimes, Misty Allen, James Allen, and Lila Allen, great-grandchildren: Kason, Jaiden, B. J., Kandis, Sara, Heather, Joshua, Collin, Matthew, Annabelle, Madelyn, Davran, Jocelyn, and Ruby, great great-grandchildren: Tatum and Brodeigh, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Geisendorff

Alexander Lyle Geisendorff Jr. was born May 2, 1915 in Thicket, Texas, and died July 1, 2011 in Pasadena, Texas, in the Bayshore Hospital at the age of ninety-six years and two months. Lyle was preceded in death by his father Alexander Lyle Geisendorff Sr., mother Gertrude Pitre Geisendorff, sister Beth Geisendorff Budd and her husband Charles, brother William Robert Geisendorff, and Lyle’s wife Pearl Collins Geisendorff who was the love of his life.

He leaves behind his niece Barbara Budd Holton and her husband Jimmy, great niece Trisha Holton Mahilak and her husband Brian, two great nieces Madison Mahilak and Mallory Mahilak all from Denton, Texas as well as a number of cousins and numerous friends.

Lyle was very patriotic and served in the armed forces for five years. He loved the American flag and he would have them put up at his house, and the Anahuac Church of Christ on the holidays.

Lyle’s work with Exxon had him living in many different places during his career. He met many friends everywhere he went and always had stories to tell. The last place Lyle moved to with Exxon was Anahuac and he retired there in 1977. He resided in Anahuac until he passed away.

Visitation for Lyle will be held Tuesday July 5, 2011 from 6-8PM at Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main Anahuac, Texas. A funeral service will be held Wednesday July 6, 2011 at 10:30AM at Anahuac Church of Christ with burial to follow in Fairlawn cemetery, Liberty, Texas.

Carson

Bethany J. “Beth” Echols Carson, 62, of Dayton, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2011, at the Palms Memorial Park cemetery in Dayton with burial following thereafter. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Beth was born March 15, 1949 in Glen Rose, to parents; C. T. and Vista Godfrey Echols, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Dayton for the past 34 years. She was a graduate of the Reagan High School class of 1967, a homemaker, and enjoyed traveling.

Mrs. Carson was preceded in death by her parents and brother: Jim Echols. She is survived by her husband of 35 years: Gary Kit Carson of Dayton, sister: Joyce Stephens and husband Frank of Canyon Lake, sister-in-law: Sandy Echols, nephews: General, Cotton, Willie, and James, nieces: Paula and Leigh Ann, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Brackeen

Bobby Carroll Brackeen, age 77, died Thursday June 30, 2011.

Bobby was born in Wayne, OK, July 27, 1933 the son of the late A.C. Brackeen and Lela Russell Brackeen. Bobby worked for over thirty in Seismic Exploration as a Geophysical Consultant, which took him all over the world. He enjoyed wood working, home projects, and gardening. He was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jo Brackeen and a sister Vera Mae Barr. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter Brenda Patterson and husband Wayne of Katy, three grandchildren Dana and Chris Kestler, Justin and Jessica Callaway, and Morgan Patterson; two great grandchildren Abigail and Brady Kestler; brothers Jim Ed Brackeen and Tommy Brackeen. Bobby will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral Services will be held 11AM Tuesday July 5, 2011 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, burial will be held in Cooke Memorial cemetery.

Underwood

Betty Ruth (Herford) Underwood, 79, of League City, formerly of Batson, died Thursday June 28, 2011.

An LVN of 45 years, Betty loved her work with the newborns. She enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her children and grandchildren and loving family. Betty was a devoted friend and a faithful Christian.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry George Herford and Winnie Davis Townsend Herford.

She is survived by her children, Karen Ackerman of Kemah, Kenny Underwood of League City; grandchildren, Brian Ackerman of League City, Jessica Underwood of League City; great grandson, Abel Roberts; brothers, Lamar Herford of Beaumont, Benny Herford and wife Imogene of Sour Lake, James Herford and wife Juanita of Sour Lake, Lloyd Herford of Morgan City, LA, Walter Herford of Lindale, TX; sisters, Sylvia Jones of Beaumont, Elva Burlin of Beaumont.

The family will receive friends at Faith and Family Funeral Service Chapel Friday July 1, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. A service of remembrance with be held Friday July 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith and Family Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by, Dr. Duane Kelley and Rev. Bill Fabriguze. Burial will Follow at Guedry cemetery of Batson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Underwood, Brian Ackerman, Brian Ackerman, Sr., Danny Hillger, Tony Herford and Daniel Ballard.

Arrangements are under the direction of Faith and Family Funeral Services, 40847 Hwy 105 E., Batson, TX, 77519, (936) 262-2100.

LaVergne

Andrew "Tim" LaVergne, 70, of Raywood, TX died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown, TX.

Funeral service will be Saturday, July 2, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Golden Light Baptist Church, 2403 Basile, Eunice Highway in Basile, LA., with interment at Cezar cemetery in Duralde, LA. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. A wake will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Calvary Mortuary Chapel, under the direction of Calvary Mortuary Staff.

Andrew's love and memories will remain in the hearts of his loving wife of 28 years, Myra LaVergne; step-mother, Mary Ardoin; sons, Kevin Ceaser (Nikki), Dr. Douglas LaVergne (Keishia), and William LaVergne; daughters, Detra Ceaser, Tabbatha LaVergne, and Andrea LaVergne; sisters, Louise Rougeau (John), Earline Hampton (Ertis), Charlene Moreau (Melvin) and McCleadia Gradney; brothers, Louis LaVergne, Albert LaVergne, and Anthony LaVergne (Georgia); God- daughter, Helen Perry; God- son, Frederick Pugh; 12 grand children; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Haynes

Darrell Len Haynes, 52, of Anahuac, died on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Triumph Hospital in Baytown. He was a loving son, brother and uncle.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 10:00 AM. A gathering of Darrell's family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, July 1, 2011 at the funeral home.

Darrell was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Nell Haynes. Darrell loved fishing, hunting and cooking and was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. Darrell showed his community spirit and desire to help others while living in Wallisville, he was a member of the Wallisville Volunteer Fire Department for over 10 years.

Darrell is survived by his father, Joe Darrell Haynes; brother, Joe Laurence Haynes Sr. and wife Dayna; brother, Clint Moss and wife, Landis; sisters, Carolyn D’Arcy and husband, Bruce; Pam Gresham and husband, Ron; nephew, Joe Haynes Jr. and wife, Chris; and a host of other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association, the Wallisville Volunteer Fire Department or Green Acres Nursing Home in Baytown.

Nugent

Kenneth Nugent, 54, Daisetta died on June 27, 2011 at his residence with his family by his side. He was a loving father, pawpaw and friend to all.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 1, 2011 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Interment will follow in Oakdale cemetery in Daisetta. A gathering of Kenneth's family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the funeral home.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, O.C. Nugent, Mary Nugent Taylor and husband Edward Taylor; brother, Don Nugent. He loved being with family, being outdoors. Watching the Price is Right. He loved life to the fullest and listening to his jukebox and signing with his grandchildren. Kenneth was a graduate of Hull-Daisetta High School in 1976. Kenneth lived in Daisetta all of his life.

Kenneth is survived by the love of his life, Lou McCollough; his sons, Randy Nugent, Justin Nugent and wife, Dawn, Dillion Rawlinson and special daughter, Rhonda Patton; special friend, Ronald Patton; grandchildren, Kira Paige Nugent, Xavier Kenneth Nugent, Garrett Lee Marquis; brothers, Clayton Nugent and wife Judy, Elbert Fregia; aunt, Martha Parker and husband Kenny; numerous nieces, nephews and love ones.

Pallbearers will be John David Westbrook Jr., Juan Gamez, Brandon Mayon, James McCollough, Troy McCollough, Robert Taylor Jr. Honorary Pallbearers, Robert Taylor Sr., John David Westbrook Sr., Xavier Nugent, Garret Marquis.

Hart

Dustin Marlin Hart, age 20, died suddenly Sunday June 26, 2011 in Liberty.

Dustin was born in Humble, Texas January 21, 1991 the son of Artie Marlin Hart and Christy Holloway Watts. Dustin loved his music, spending time with his friends, and facebook. He was witty, funny, artistic with a good heart. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother Christy and step-father John Watts, father Artie Hart and step mother Donna, sister Emily Watts, brothers Joseph Rayon, Seth Traywick, Luke Hughes, Ross Watts, Michael Watts, Teven Mouton, and Fabian Galvan, maternal grandparents George and Marie Shaw, paternal grandparents E.C. “Dump” Hart and Willie Mae Hart. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Wednesday June 29, 2011 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral Services will be held 10AM Thursday June 30, 2011 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Phelps cemetery.

Sanders

Gerald Sanders, age 63, died Sunday June 26, 2011 at his home with his beloved family by his side.

Gerald was born October 4, 1947 in Burleson, Texas, the son of the late Melvin Lee Sanders and Pearl Necessary Sanders. Gerald was an avid outdoorsmen enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and traveling. He worked for many years for Curtis & Sons and Enterprise as a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brothers Larry James Sanders, Floyd Ray Sanders, and Irvin Paul Sanders, sister Linda Ann Sanders and a father-in-law B.W. Griffith. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Diane Sanders, daughter Paula Allen husband Brian, sons Gerald Sanders Jr wife Cindy and Chris Sanders, brothers Richard Sanders, Lee Sanders, Billy Sanders and his twin brother Earl Wayne Sanders, sisters Jodie Wood and Debra Sorrells, half-brother Lloyd Sanders, step mother Betty Sanders, mother-in-law Mavis Griffith, sister-in-law Janice McDougal, brother-in-law Bennett Griffith and wife Jennifer, two step brothers, two step-sisters and five grandchildren, Brian Allen Jr., Brody Allen, Benny Sanders, Miranda Strain, and Kyler Skuca.

Visitation will be held Tuesday June 28, 2011 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas.

A graveside service will be held 10AM Wednesday June 29, 2011 at Guedry cemetery, Batson, Texas.

Embry

Terry Louis Embry, age 57, died Sunday June 26, 2011 in Houston, Texas. Terry was born in Houston, September 14, 1953 the son of the late George Edgar Embry Sr. and Mary Evans Embry.

Terry worked for many years as a welder with the Port of Houston Authority and was a member of the Millwright Local #2232. Terry was known to speak his mind, work hard, and brag on his kids. He never met a stranger and enjoyed his Sunday’s playing cards and enjoying a meal with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a brother Allen Lane Embry. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of almost thirty-one years, Geralyn Embry of Tarkington, children; Lindsay Parker husband Scott of Moss Hill; Terry Allen Embry of Kingwood, Brandon Lane Embry fiancée Kelly McKnight, and Chelsea Elizabeth Embry of Tarkington; Brother George Edgar Embry Jr. Sister; Brenda Jane Hardin, and four grandchildren; Reese Parker, Raif Parker, Carson Embry, and Aiden Embry.

Visitation for Terry will be held Monday June 27, 2011 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas.

A funeral service will be held 10AM Tuesday June 28, 2011 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Parker-Embry Family cemetery.

Sullivan

Barbara Ann (Stinnett) Sullivan, 63, of Daisetta, died Saturday June 25, 2011 at Liberty-Dayton Regional Medical Center of Liberty.

Barbara was born July 26, 1947 in Daisetta TX, to James Sewell Stinnett and Mary Helen Broz Stinnett. She was a member of The Central Baptist Church of Daisetta, and a homemaker after retiring out of the Medical field where she had worked as a Data Processing Clerk for The Yettie Kersting Hospital of Liberty, which is now The Liberty-Dayton Regional Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Sullivan, her parents, James Stinnett and Mary Broz Stinnett, a sister Gloria Crawford. Brothers Charles Ray Stinnett, Cecil Stinnett, Leonard Stinnett, James Melton Stinnett and sister-in-law Shirley "Kitty" Stinnett.

Survivors are brothers Billy Stinnett, Sammy Stinnett both of Daisetta, sisters Jannie Stinnett of Daisetta, Shirley Stinnett of Daisetta, Alpha Tenorio and husband Lorenzo of Liberty, Frances Vanya and husband Jeff of Hardin, and sister-in-law Mary Ann West of Liberty. Nephews are Bruce Crawford of Daisetta, Allen Tenorio of Liberty, John Vanya of Hardin, James Vanya of Houston, Curtis Stinnett of Hull, Joey Stinnett of Splendora, Randy Stinnett of Sour Lake. Nieces are Kathy Harris of Spring TX, Stacey Stinnett of Hardin, Rhonda Champagne of Lumberton, Robyn Scott of Scott Louisiana.

Great nieces are Brook Scott, Sarina Crawford, Baleigh Holland, Tiffany Pennington, Amanda Vanya, Rebecca Stinnett, Jennie Stinnett, Jill Champagne.

Great nephews are Matthew Stinnett, Garrison Crawford, Dylan Scott, Martin Bush, Brandon Bush.

Great-great nephews Jake and Zane Jones and great-great niece Hannah Bush.

A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday June 28, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Central Baptist Church of Daisetta, with Reverend Harry McDaniel and Reverend Jim VanDorn officiating.

Interment will follow at Oak Dale cemetery of Daisetta.

The family will be receiving friends on Monday June 27, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Central Baptist church of Daisetta.

Garcia

Jeronima Castillo Garcia, age 74, died Wednesday June 22, 2011 in Houston, Texas.

Jeronima was born in Progreso, Mexico September 28, 1936 the daughter of the late Tirso Castillo and Concepcion Mares Castillo. She was homemaker and devoted member to her church Immaculate Conception Church in Liberty. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as a sister Francisca Castillo. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Galdino Garcia, children Ruperto Garcia, Martha Gerardo, Maria Lopez, and Rosario Castillo. In addition she leave eighteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held Friday June 24, 2011 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas with a Rosary Service to be held at 7PM. A graveside service will be held 1PM Saturday June 25, 2011 in Liberty Catholic cemetery.

Walker

Rosa Lee Sylvester Walker, 76, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 in Baytown, Texas. She was born October 12, 1934 in Opelousas, Louisiana, was a member of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with children & grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Walker will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phillip Suber, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be Saturday morning, 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents, son, Patrick Walker, and daughter, Cherry Walker Briggs. She is survived by her son, Reginald Walker & wife Janise; her daughters, Catherine Walker, Phyliss Winters & husband Henry, Traci Smith & husband J. T., Kay Mouton & husband Ambrose, and Mary Walker; 21 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren; also numerous other relatives and friends.
