Berry

OraLee Berry, age 83, of Coldspring, Texas, died Saturday, May 21, 2011.

She was born October 1, 1927 in Alicia, Arkansas to parents Arch and Daffiny Golden who preceded her in death along with her loving husband, Ruben Berry; sons, Michael Ray Berry and Gary Lee Berry; granddaughter, Lisa Berry; and seven brothers and sisters.

OraLee was Baptist in faith; a former member of the “Order of Eastern Star”; she had a love for cooking and gardening along with having a passion for deer hunting and fishing. She was blessed with having a wonderful family and loved spending time with them. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Survivors include her daughters, Phyllis Warner and husband, Larry of New Caney, Texas, Bobbie Baker and husband, Paul of Greely, Colorado, Jean Dvorak and husband, Dayton of Houston, Texas; sisters, Joy Watson of Brooksire, Texas, Carolyn Brown of Ashland, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Dwayne Bell, Tanya Nino, Greg Bell, Jennifer Baker, Clifford Baker; fifteen great-grandchildren, Kevin Bell, Jeremy Bell, Joshua Bell, Hunter Bell, Elijah Bell, Lee Anthony Nino, Gabrielle Perry, Viktoria Rinker, Alexandra Bell, Christopher Bell, Tucker Bell, Kylee Sparks, Myles Baker, Caitlyn Cox, Michaela Purdy and one on the way; and one great-great-grandchild, Gabriel Perry; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other cherished family members and faithful friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 23, 2011, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Rev. Greg Smith will preside over funeral services being held Tuesday, May 24, 2011, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment following at Laurel Hill cemetery, Coldspring, Texas. Pallbearers include Dwayne Bell, Jeremy Bell, Greg Bell, Josh Bell, Clifford Baker, and Kevin Bell; honorary pallbearers include, Lee Anthony Nino, Christopher and Tucker Bell, Hunter and Elijah Bell, Myles Baker, and Alexandra Phyllis Bell.

Stinnett

Charles Ray Stinnett, 79, of Kountze, died Saturday May 21, 2011 at his residence.

Charles was born on September 2, 1931 in Hull TX, and had lived in Beaumont, most of his life before moving to Kountze. He was retired from Dresser-Atlas of Beaumont as a wire line operator and was also a U.S. Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife of many years Shirley "Kitty" Stinnett, brothers Cecil Stinnett, Leonard "Cowboy" Stinnett, and sister Gloria Crawford.

Survivors are his son Charles Randal Stinnett and wife Sarah of Sour Lake, daughters Rhonda Champagne and husband Russell of Kountze, Robyn Scott and husband Troy of Scott Louisiana, brothers, Billy Stinnett and Sammy Stinnett both of Daisetta. Sisters Jannie Stinnett of Daisetta, Shirley Stinnett, of Daisetta, Barbara Sullivan of Daisetta, Alpha Tenorio of Liberty, and Frances Vanya of Hardin. Grandchildren: are Martin Bush III, Brandon Bush, Jillian Champagne, Dylan Scott, Brooke Scott, Matthew Stinnett, Jennie Stinnett, Rebecca Stinnett. Great-grandchildren Rosalyn Conway, Hannah Conway, Kylee Champagne, Pauline Champagne, Dakota Buckner.

A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday May 25, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the chapel of Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105 E. Batson TX, with Elder David Plaster of the Silsbee Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses officiating.

Interment will follow at the Oakdale cemetery in Daisetta, the family will be receiving friends on Tuesday May 24, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Chapel.

Smith

Sidney G. “Gib” Smith, age 92, of Cleveland, Texas, died Saturday, May 21, 2011.

He was born December 1, 1918 in Fostoria, Texas to parents, Ike and Cora Smith who preceded him in death along with his loving wife, Myrtie “Nathalie” Isaacks Smith; son-in-law, Donald Howard Sr.; and brother, Jack Smith.

Survivors include his sons, Jerry Smith and wife, Sue of Cleveland, Texas, Larry Smith and wife, Martha of Cleveland, Texas, Mike Smith and wife, Audrey of Patton Village, Texas; daughters, Bonnie S. Howard of Cleveland, Texas, Cindy Stimac and husband, Craig Jr. of Cleveland, Texas; grandchildren, Donald, Stacey, Paul, Mark, Luke, Roy Lee, Shelley, Vicki, J.R., Jackie, Curt, Amanda, Alyssa, and Natasha; great-grandchildren, Valerie, Nikki, Brook, Taylor, Natalie, Shannon, Marissa, Samantha, Jamie, Rylee, Abigail, Alison, Triston, Trey, Logan, Stormie, Landon, Allen, Maddie, Summer, and Melayna; great-great-grandchildren, Kylie, Jayla, and Jazmine; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members and faithful friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 23, 2011, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Earl Faust will preside over funeral services being held Tuesday, May 24, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment following at Pin Oak cemetery. Pallbearers include Luke Smith, Dustin Howard, Les Gilmore, Taylor Faust, Shawn Faust, Mark Sears, and Paul Hendrik.

Rayon

William Rayon, 83, of Devers, died Sunday May 15, 2011 in Hull.

He was born in Meeker TX, to Cyril Trusimond Rayon and Ezola Marie Meche Rayon on November 20, 1927. William had lived in Devers, for over sixty years and was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator for Brown & Root Construction Company.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jean Arletta, brothers George, David, and Henry Rayon

Survivors are his son William J. Rayon and wife Joy of Devers, Step-daughters Terry Schwarze and husband Mike of Devers, Judy Thibodeaux of Raywood. Grandchildren seven, great-grandchildren twelve, and great-great grandchildren five, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and caregivers.

A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday May 17, 2011 at 11:00A.M. at The First United Methodist Church of Devers with Reverend Mary Gossett officiating. Pallbearers are Todd Rayon, Wade Rayon, Roland Rayon, Chad Johnson, Joseph Rayon, and Josh Rayon.

Honorary pallbearers are Gary Byerley, Rick Edwards, Mikey Schwarze, Coby Edwards, and Kyle Rayon. Interment will follow at The Stacy Memorial cemetery of Devers. The family will be receiving friends on Monday May 16, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. also at the church.

Baughman

Natasha Stewart Baughman, 50, of Dayton, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, in Liberty.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2011, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Natasha was born June 21, 1960 in Evansville, IN, to parents; William E. Stewart and Melva Westerman, a former resident of Henderson, KY, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 23 years. She was a homemaker, attended the Eastgate Church, and enjoyed painting, cooking, and reading.

Mrs. Baughman was preceded in death by her father: William E. Stewart and mother: Melva Westerman Beck. She is survived by her son: Casey Cole Baughman of Dayton, father of her son: William “Sonny” Baughman of Dayton, sisters: Deborah L. Sawyer of Nashville, TN and Billie Jean Tomberlin and husband Scott of Henderson, KY, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Kneisley

Robert Eugene Kneisley, age 58, died Friday May 13, 2011 at his home. Robert was born in Dayton, Ohio, May 22, 1952 the son of Paul Kneisley and Dorothy Rayburn Kneisley Harrison.

Robert was a member of the VFW Nolan Pickett Post where he was the commander. He also was a member of the AM Vets. He worked for many years in Construction as a field supervisor for Houston Testing Service. A giving and kind man he supported many charitable organizations. He enjoyed cooking especially BBQ, winning many awards as the head cook for the “Fertile Turtle Cookers”.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Kneisley. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of twenty-seven years Brenda Kneisley of Liberty, daughters Alexis and Samantha Kneisley of Liberty, mother Dorothy Harrison of Bracketville, TX, brothers Butch Rayburn of Willis, Richard Kneisley of Baytown, Floyd Harrison of Del Rio, Chris Harrison of Victoria, sister Sheila Thompson of Pearland. In addition he leaves numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday May 19, 2011 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas.

A Funeral Service will be held 9AM Friday May 20, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will be held at noon Friday in Houston National cemetery.

Rodriguez

Juan Pablo Rodriguez, age 29, died May 14, 2011.

He was born in Liberty, January 7, 1982. Juan enjoyed drawing and was an avid fan of the Houston Astros. He last worked in construction.

He was preceded in death by his cousins Jose Antonio Gonzales, Raul Gonzales, and Jorge Rodriguez, ans his paternal grandparents Paula Gonzales and Jullio Lopez.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, mother Esperanza Lopez, father Fidel Banuelos, sisters, Juanita Rodriguez, Angelica Tudon, Maria Jacobs, Lorena Mata, brothers Roberto Rodriguez, Jose A. Rodriguez, Noe A. Rodriguez, and a daughter Lucilly Rodriguez. In addition he leaves numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday May 17, 2011 from 5-9PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas with a rosary service to be held at 7pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10AM Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Church with burial to follow in Liberty Catholic cemetery.

Tackett

Joseph Donald Tackett, 73, of Dayton, died on Friday, May 13, 2011 at Odssey Hospice in Houston.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 16, 2011 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. A gathering of Joe's friends will be from 9:00 AM to 10 AM on Monday.

Joe was proceded in death by his wife, Victoria Tackett in 2009. Joe was best known for his great training of German Shepard's for over 60 years and a Master Judge for that breed. He was one of the early founders of the United States Schutzhund Club. He was the founder of the Good Shepard German Shepard Club of Dayton.

Joe leaves behind his most trusted friends, Axel, Mercy, Ivan, Ariel, and Snowball; has well as many human friends.

Canfield

Shirley Barrett Canfield, 70, of Houston, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011 in Cornerstone Hospital in Bellaire.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 15, 2011 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Shirley loved the Lord and playing the piano. She loved going to the beach and growing flowers. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Beatrice Little Barrett.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Sharron Bishop of Dayton; grandson, Lee Allen Bishop; great granddaughter, Peyton Denese Bishop; sisters, Jean Rigby and husband, Mike, Linda Wilcher; brothers, Kenneth Barrett and wife, Darlene, David Barrett and Gerald Barrett and wife, Michele; sister-in-law, Robin Johns; Dawn Daffern and a host of other family and friends.

Fulbright

Sophia Harmon Fulbright, 99, of Anahuac, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2011 in Bayside Community Hospital in Anahuac.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery. A gathering of Sophia's family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, May 16, 2011 at the funeral home.

Sophia was a home maker and loved sewing, collecting coins and stamps. Sophia loved being in her garden also. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Fulbright; brother, Walter Harmon; niece, Beverly Harmon Van Dyke.

Sophia is survived by her nieces, Nadine Harmon Hall, Sue Harmon Savanich, Mary Harmon Wilkins and nephew, Sidney Harmon Sr.; many great nieces, nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Williams

Vera Ailine Williams, age 63, of Dayton, Texas, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011.

She was born June 15, 1947 in Livingston, Texas to parents, Luther and Vera Mae Pitman who preceded her in death along with her grandparents, Bill and Bessie Herrod and Lee and Mary Jane Pitman.

Survivors include her loving husband, Willie Ray Williams; son, Robert A. Wilson Jr.; daughters, Regan Hallford, Lena Hall; brothers, Eddie Pittman, Luther Pitman, Sammie Pittman; sisters, Mary Brown, Carol Huser; grandchildren, Sarah, Rogan, Lyric, Christie, Jarrett, Shelby, and Richard; nephews, Tim Pittman, niece, Shannon Capps; great-nephews, David Pittman, Christopher Capps Jr., Xzander Capps; great-niece, Makayla Capps; her faithful and loving companions, “Precious” and “Little Tinkerbell”; numerous other cherished family members and treasured friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 15, 2011, 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas.

Graveside services being held 11:00 a.m. at Farley Chapel cemetery, Shepherd, Texas. Honorary pallbearers include Chris Capps, Eddie Pittman, William Odom, and Trey Ingram.

Mangum

James Earl “Jimmy Earl” Mangum, Jr., age 59, died May 11, 2011 in Beaumont.

He was born in Liberty, Texas May 3, 1952 the son of James Earl Mangum Sr. and Pauline Taylor Mangum. Jimmy Earl enjoyed ranching, BBQ, hunting, and telling a good story. He worked in many capacities over the years for Houston Oil & Mineral, Taylor Construction, and B&J Ready Mix.

Jimmy leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents, James Mangum Sr. and Pauline Mangum of Daisetta, daughter Dawn Mangum of Daisetta, son James Mangum III of Daisetta, sisters Tammy Patton husband Ricky of Batson, Alice Bracken husband John Wayne of Batson, and a nephew James Broussard wife Tara of Dayton. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral Services will be held 2PM Sunday May 15, 2011 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Oakdale cemetery. The Rev. Lonnie Jordan will officiate the services.

Steward

Alton Morris Steward, 64, of Anahuac, died on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Methodist Hospital in Houston.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Anahuac under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery. A gathering of Alton’s family and friends will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at First United Methodist Church in Anahuac.

Alton was a member of the Lyons Club International, the Anahuac Volunteer Fire Department, and Trinity Episcopal Church in Anahuac. Alton received the Melvin Jones Humanitarian Award in 2010.

Alton was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Eldria Deshotel Steward; brothers, Roger Dale, Jerry Lee and Howard Ray Steward.

Alton is survived by his wife, Gale McCullough Steward; daughters, Tammie Steward, Tracy Guillory and husband, Lindy; sons, Tad Steward and Troy Steward; granddaughters, Lindsey Steward, Ashton Guillory, Kaysha Steward, Kaitlyn Howell; grandsons, Kasey Steward, and D’Shaun Richardson; great granddaughters, Brodee Shiver, Kasey Self, and Kayla Self; great grandson, Carter Sherman; and a host of other family and friends.

Alston

Reverend Joseph Edward "Joe" Alston, 59, of Beaumont, died Thursday May 12, 2011 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center of Houston.

He was born July 10, 1951 in Livingston Texas, to his parents Edward Alston and Ola Richardson.

Reverend Alston had lived in Beaumont for thirty-six years and was Pastor of the Big Thicket Tabernacle formerly The First United Pentecostal Church of Saratoga for thirty-three years. He was preceded in death by his father Edward Alston. He is survived by his loving wife Joan Alston of Beaumont, mother Ola Alston of Houston, brother Dennis Alston and wife Karon of Magnolia, and sister Donna Schuchardt and husband Barry of Katy. Nieces are Holly Roberts of Magnolia, Kaylon Calvo of Houston, Amberly Campbell of Conroe, Shauna Gary of Houston, Shayla Evans of Houston. Nephews are Rodney James of Houston, Christopher Kinner of Fannett, Daniel Kinner of Spring Hill TN.

A service of celebration will be held Monday May 16, 2011 at 10:00A.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services of Batson, with Reverend Danny Russo officiating. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Rosewood cemetery of Humble. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday May 15, 2011 from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Big Thicket Tabernacle located on Hwy 770 in Saratoga TX.
