Freeman

Alandra Yvonne Arceneaux Freeman, 43, of Ames, Texas passed away on Monday, April 25, 2011 at her residence.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church, Liberty, with the Rev. L. C. Speights officiating. Burial will be in Wells Memorial cemetery.

Mrs. Freeman was born on July 9, 1967. Known to most by her middle name, Yvonne worked in the medical field as a caregiver. She was the wife of Zack Freeman III and the mother of two children Trayvion Freeman and Zakari Freeman. She is preceded in death by her son Trayvion.

Visitation will be at Mt. Rose from 9am until time of service.

Yvonne leaves to cherish her memory her husband: Zack Freeman III, one daughter Zakari Nicole Freeman; her parents: Othella Arceneaux of Liberty and Carol Braxton of Houston, TX., one brother: Alonzo Citizen of Hull, two sisters: Tracie Arceneaux of Houston and April Dugat of Baytown and a host of other relatives and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wells Funeral Services, Liberty, Texas.

Charles

Dorothy Louise Tiner Charles, 89, of Dayton, died on Saturday, April 23, 2011 in Heritage Villa Nursing Home in Dayton.

Louise was a loving mother, step-mother, grandmother, and sister.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton with Pastor Charles Pierce officiating. Interment will follow in Ryan cemetery in Tarkington. A gathering of Louise’s family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 26, 2011.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Franklin Charles, parents, Willie and Ida Belle Tiner. Louise loved quilting, hunting and fishing. Louise attended First Assembly of God in Dayton for many years.

Louise is survived by her sisters, LaVetra Burge of Dayton, Becky Carpenter and husband, Curtis of Marble Falls, Dollie Jones of Baytown; brother, Willie Tiner and wife, Valorie of New Caney; son, Marvin Hutchinson of Holly, TX; stepsons, Gene Charles and wife, Mary, Albert Charles and wife, Judy Charles; and a host of other family and friends.

Stringer

Earnest O. Stringer, age 81, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at his home in Hull with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Lamar Co. Mississippi the son of the late Curtis Onro Stringer and Bessie Williams Stringer.

Earnest volunteered for the service joining the US Army, as a cook, upon completion of his service he worked as a welder for Brown & Root, Chicago Bridge and Iron, as well as with J.S. Manufacturing. He was the owner operator of Stringers Trading Post in Hull. He especially enjoyed serving others by providing entertainment by singing and playing his guitar and harmonica for the local nursing homes throughout the past twenty years. Earnest also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a son Alvin O. Stringer and a brother Sam Stringer. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of twenty-three years, Margaret Elizabeth Dempsey Stringer of Hull, son Thomas “Redd” Stringer of Sarasota, FL, daughter Earnestine Cooley of Purvis, MS, sister Mary Johnson of Baytown, brother Harry Stringer of Channelview, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. In addition he leaves his close friends, Mike and Rosa Tagert, Ernesta and Barry Jones, Nelson and Mary Taylor.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 25, 2011 from 5PM to 8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral Services to be held Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 10AM at the funeral home, burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to local nursing homes.

Burchfield

Bobby Leroy Burchfield III, infant son of Bobby Leroy Jr. and Leea Burchfield of Kountze, died Tuesday April 19, 2011 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont Texas.

A Graveside Service will be held at11:00 A.M. Saturday April 23, 2011 at Sutton cemetery in Honey Island,

Survivors other than Parents are brother: Jeremy Burchfield of Kountze, Grandmother: Beverly Burchfield of Honey Island, Grandfather: Bobby Burchfield Sr. of Kountze, Grandmother: Leea Johnson of Ace, Texas and Grandfather: John Edwards of Ace, Texas.

Campbell

Milburn M.E. Campbell, 73, of Liberty, died at his residence on April 21, 2011. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Interment will follow in Fairlawn cemetery in Liberty. A gathering of M.E.'s family and friends will be 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, April 25, 2011.

M.E. was a native of Liberty and worked in the Oil Field for over 59 years. He loved hunting, fishing, riding the boat, drinking his beer and his garden. He was listening to Cajun Music and eating hot peppers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie and Henry Campbell.

M.E. is survived by his wife of 36 years Sandy Lee Campbell; daughter, Patricia Whitney and husband Tommy; son, Henry Eugene Campbell and Terri; brother, W. H. Campbell; grandchildren, Lisa Gilliam, Renee McTigue, Rosie Whitney, Mary Slavin, Jonathan Campbell, Amber Campbell. 7 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Ramirez

Francis Ramirez, 69, of Devers, Texas, died on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Allison Funeral Service Chapel from 6pm until 9pm. A Rosary service will be held at 7pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 10 am at Allison Funeral Service and burial to follow at Liberty Catholic cemetery.

Francis was born June 4, 1941 in Ennis, Texas to parents, Mersed and Ynez Gaitan. She married Antonio Ramirez and they enjoyed over fifty wonderful years together until her death. She retired from Liberty Independent School District on May 25, 2001 after 27 years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and loved her family dearly.

Francis was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Antonio Ramirez, two sons; Daniel Ramirez and wife Donna and Michael Jay Aaron Ramirez and wife Jerra, three daughters, Christina McKinney and husband Dennis, Margaret Stevens and husband William Lee and Patricia Lucas and husband Steven, thirteen grandchildren; Meridith Villegas and husband Gonzalo, Megan Yawn and husband Christopher, Allie Henderson and husband Christopher, Brandon Lucas, Perry Stevens, Cade Lucas, Anthony Ramirez, Eli Ramirez, Jenna Ramirez, Josh Burk and wife Kristin, Jeremy Burk, Alyse Martin and husband Jerry and Jerry McKinney, six great-grandchildren; Chandler Sanders, Raeann McKinney, Hayden Howard, Madison Martin, Haley Martin and Preston Yawn.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Elizabeth Ann “Babes and Books” Fund at the Liberty Municipal Library in Liberty, Texas or to the American Diabetes Association.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service.

Webb

Dorothy Jean Webb, daughter of the late Sias and Pecolar Elliott, died on the 14th of April, 2011.

A lifelong and native of Liberty, Texas, she was born on the 24th of May, 1935. She attended school in Liberty, Texas and earned high school equivalency (GED). Dorothy married Elba Webb, Jr. at an early age and started their family. Dorothy and Elba were married for over 50 years until his death in June, 2000.

She was a lover of growing plants and flowers. She enjoyed the outdoors, tending to her flowers and her garden. Dorothy was a longtime member of the Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church. Her deep abiding faith in God was exhibited in her service to people. At Mount Rose, she served the Lord by teaching Sunday School Class, directing the youth choir and acting as the announcement clerk. Dorothy also sang in the adult choir and was an active member of the church missions and ladies auxiliaries.

Dorothy was a loving, dedicated mother of six children. Her love for people will be sorely missed. She was friendly and outgoing and never met a stranger. She made you feel comfortable talking with her. Dorothy was a lady of distinction who loved the Lord and lived to please him every day.

Dorothy leaves behind 4 sons: Derrick Webb & wife Dianna of Cypress, Wade Webb of Liberty, Dwight Webb & wife Clara of Liberty, Lonnie Webb & wife Connie of Beaumont; one daughter: Belinda Varner of Liberty; a brother: Richard Elliott of Raywood; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by son: Larry Eugene Webb, granddaughter: Daphne Marie Webb, brother: Robert L. Elliott; and sister-in-law: Alice Elliott.

Services for Mrs. Webb will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 22, 2011 at Mount Rose Missionary Church in Liberty with Rev. Patrick Webb officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Wells cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

Brooks

Funeral Service for Mrs. Ellen Brooks, 95, of Liberty, Texas will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 11:00 AM, at Turkey Creek Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. A. K. Thomas, officiating with burial in Wells Memorial cemetery, Liberty, under the direction of Wells Funeral Service.

A native of Liberty, Mrs. Brooks was the first born of eight children. She taught in the Liberty School System and was a faithful member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church. She attended Prairie View and also taught school in Raywood. Miss Cook united in marriage with Earnest Brooks, Sr. and to this union was born nine children. Sister Brooks served as church secretary, church clerk, and taught Sunday school for many years. A choir member for over 30 years, she also served as President of the Mission and Vice-President of the Program Committee. Turkey Creek could always rely on Sister Brooks as the church historian. She took great joy in traveling to the National Baptist Conventions.

Sister Brooks is preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Sr., and two sons: R. C. Brooks and Billy Ray Brooks.

She leaves to cherish her memory six sons: Morris Brooks of Conroe, Leroy, Theodore, Earnest, Jr., and Harold Brooks, all of Liberty, and Larry Brooks of Dayton; one daughter: Mary Ford of Liberty; two sisters: Ada Warren and Elizabeth Cook, both of Ames: twenty-three grandchildren; sixty-two great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Gore

Charli Rae Gore, 15, of Dayton, died on Saturday, April 16, 2011.

She was a Sophomore at Dayton High School where she was loved by all of her teachers and fellow students. She loved animals and taking care of children. She was active in the Girl Scouts. She was a good hearted person who was always willing to help out. She had big beautiful blue eyes and a beautiful smile.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Kera Renea Gore.

She is survived by her parents, Charles and Candy Gore of Dayton; sister, Cheyenne Marie Gore of Dayton; brother, Cody Lee Gore of Dayton; aunts and uncles, Cody and Ashley Durham of Batson, Ray and Tracy Gore of Dayton, Kenneth Gore of Baytown, Donna Gore of Crosby, Deborah Dunn of LaPorte; cousins, Jacee Gore of Dayton, Kendall Gore of Dayton, Stormi Gore of Dayton, Kenneth Gore, Jr. of Baytown, Autumn Gore of Baytown, Gabriel Gore of Baytown, Kevin Gore of Baytown, Chad Wardrip of Dayton; grandparents, Connie West of Houston, James and Shirley Franklin of Crosby, Wayne Durham of LaPorte, Randy West of Batson; and great grandmother Dora Thompkins of Houston.

The family will receive friends at Faith and Family Funeral Services on Wednesday April 20, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday April 21, at 2:00 p.m. at Faith and Family Funeral Service officiated by Rev. Lonnie Jordan. Burial will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

Serving as pall bearers are Ray Gore, Cody Durham, William McAnally, Michael Bertrand, Derrick Flowers, Randy Barnhill and Richard Bennight.

Carouthers

Helen Rhoads Carouthers, 88, of Daisetta, died Sunday April 17, 2011 at Silsbee Convalescent Center.

She was born in Camp Ruby TX to Jessie Bradford Rhoads and Ocie Mae Bailey on November 7, 1921. She had lived in Daisetta many years and was a member of The Daisetta United Pentecostal Church and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Luther Helen is survived by her son Kenny Carouthers of Batson, daughter Janell Johnson and husband Elroy of Branson, MO. Grandchildren five, Great Grandchildren nine, and Three Great Great Grandchildren.

A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday April 20, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. At the chapel of Faith & Family Funeral Service 40847 Hwy 105 E. of Batson, with Reverend Lonnie Jordan and Keith Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery of Batson.

The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday April 19, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. Until 9:00 P.M. At Faith & Family. Pallbearers are Elroy Johnson, Keith Johnson, Jason d’Augereau, Michael Haar, Josh Haar and Jeremy Fregia. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon International or charity of choice.

Barrow

Dora Frances Rogers Barrow, age 81, died Sunday April 17, 2011 at her home.

She was born in Highlands, Texas June 24, 1929 the daughter of the late John Edwin Rogers and Bessie Frances Walker Rogers. Dora enjoyed working in her yard and was a member of the Eastern Star. Dora also stayed very active in her church, First United Methodist Church of Daisetta. She retired after twenty years of service from Hull Daisetta ISD as a bookkeeper.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a husband Ovey “O.W., Tex” Barrow, a sister Maime Yorio, brothers Henry and John Edwin Rogers.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons, Wilbur Joe Barrow and wife Nancy of Mexia, TX, Terry Lee Barrow and wife Susan of Alto, TX, sister Laura Jane Hunt of Hull, brother Melvin M. Rogers of Batson, and two grandchildren, Bradley Joe Barrow and Molly Amanda Barrow. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral Services to be held 2PM Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Oakdale cemetery.

England

Hal Edward England, 68, of Hamshire, died on Thursday April 14, 2011.

He was an ordained Baptist Minister. He possessed a unique and wonderful sense of humor. He loved his family and was a great people person. He was devout in his faith and witnessed to people all the way until the end. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father, George Francis England and two grandchildren, Todd Randall Watson and Tianna Rose Watson.

He is survived by his loving wife Emma England of Hamshire; mother, Lou Nell England of Hull; daughters, Vickie Duke and husband Michael of Vidor, Tammy Watson and husband Thomas Watson, Jr. of Hull, Kimberly Laughlin and husband Bingo of Hamshire, Brenda Tackett and husband Richard of Vidor; grandchildren, Melinda Bossier and husband Jason of Vidor, Theresa McCauley and husband Jeremy of Daisetta, Trent Watson of Hull, Taylor Watson of Hull, Tobie Watson of Hull, Takala Watson of Hull, Jeff Laughlin of Hamshire, Jordan Laughlin of Hamshire, Jared Laughlin of Hamshire, Victoria Tackett of Vidor, Kennin Tackett of Vidor; surviving wife of Todd Watson, Jacquline Riojas; great grandchildren, Kara Bossier of Vidor, Nevaeh McCauley of Daisetta, Kloey McCauley of Daisetta; sister, Betty Evans and husband Wayne of Monticello, Ark.; his dog, Heidi; and numerous friends and family.

The funeral service was held on Monday April 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Church in Moss Hill, officiated by Brother Carlton Bailey. Burial was followed at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

Serving as pall bearers will be Michael Duke, Jason Bossier, Thomas Watson, Jr., Jeremy McCauley, Trent Watson, Bingo Laughlin, Jeff Laughlin, Jordan Laughlin, Richard Tackett; Kennin Tackett and Todd Randall Watson (preceded in death).

Bean

Ben Lamar “Buddy” Bean, Sr., 80, of Dayton, died Sunday, April 17, 2011, at the Liberty Healthcare Center in Liberty.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at the First Baptist Church of Dayton with burial following at Palms Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, for law enforcement and fire department personnel and families, at the funeral home. Additional visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m., at the First Baptist Church prior to services on Tuesday. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Buddy was born September 12, 1930 in Call, TX, to parents; Benjamin Franklin Bean and Flavia Lavine, a former resident of Orange and has resided in Dayton for the past 55 years. He was a graduate of the Burkville High School class of 1947, attended Sam Houston State University where he obtained his associate degree of criminal justice, a former Texas Hwy Patrol Officer for 31 years, a retired Dayton Volunteer Fire Department member, the former police chief of Dayton after 14 years of service, a former member of the Lions Club, and member of the Department of Public Safety Officers Association. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, spending time family and friends, and having coffee at Dennys.

Mr. Bean was preceded in death by his father: Benjamin Franklin Bean, mother: Flavia Lavine Powell, wife: Marsha Bean, son: Roger Allen Bean, and sister: Joyce Petitt. He is survived by his wife of eight years: Jo Ann Jordan Bean of Dayton, children: Lavina Darlene Douglas and husband Tommie of Dayton, Ben L. “Butch” Bean, Jr. of Mt. Belvieu, Tammy Jean Bean of Dayton, Gordon Ray Bean of Dayton, Kerinda Lea Bedell of Cedar Park, Buddie Lynn Bean of Lafayette, LA, sisters: Lavina Woods of Longview and Betty Jo Ford of New Braunfels, grandchildren: Lisa Cramer, Heather Zarsky, B. J. Jackson, Tori Giese, Bridgette Diane Bean, Brandi Lynn Bean, Ben L. “Bo” Bean, III, Misty Bean, Lamar Bean, Kelby Bean, Brandon Bean, Derek Bean, Logan Bean, Cody Bean, Nicholas Bedell, Bradi L. Bedell, and Chase Bedell, numerous great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of traditional remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to the Activity Department at Liberty Healthcare Center, 1206 N. Travis, Liberty, Texas, 77575. These donations will go towards the purchase of a new van in order to improve their residents’ quality of life. Please make checks payable to the Activity Department.
