Cameron

Douglas Cameron, 69, of Anahuac, died on Tuesday, March 9, 2011 at Bayside Community Hospital in Anahuac.

A memorial gathering will take place in the Methodist Youth Center of First United Methodist Church ion Anahuac at 2:00 PM Sunday on March 13, 2011. Interment will be in Wallisville cemetery.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Linda.

Doug is survived by a brother, Lance Cameron and sister, Sandra Hendricks and husband Mike; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Wallisville Heritage Park or the American Heart and Cancer Association.

Broussard

Matilda Ann Broussard, 64, of Kountze, died Sunday March 6, 2011 in Abbeville, Louisiana.

She was born in Beaumont, Texas on July 25, 1947 to her Parents: William Green Wilson and Floy Elizabeth Bane Wilson. Matilda was a Sales Manager for Wal-Mart.

She is Survived by her Brother: Billy Lavender and wife Shirley of Nederland, Two Sisters: Ester Wilson of Vidor and Elizabeth Marcontell of Livingston. Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday March 11, 2011 at 10:00 A.M at Jordan cemetery in Honey Island with Reverend Mel Rowell and Reverend Denton Maze officiating.

Brothers

A resident of Prairieville, La. Raymond E. Brothers, 88 years old, died Thursday March 10, 2011 at the Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, La.

He served in the army medics during World War II. He was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish. He has been a minister in the Assemblies of God for 50 years. Born and raised in Texas, his pastoral duties include Batson, TX., Leon Springs, TX., Divine, TX., and Llano, TX. He retired and lived in Coldspring, TX. until 2 years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Ermadean Brothers; 5 children, Don Brothers, The Woodlands, TX.; Loyce Hollingsworth, Baton Rouge, La.; Nancy Messer, Prairieville, La.; Patty Brothers, Belton, TX.; and Roger Brothers, Cleveland, TX. Preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Gail, his mother and dad, Travis and Sarah Brothers, 2 sisters, Edna Glenn of The Woodlands, TX, Audrey Woodcock of Smithville, TX, and 1 brother, Gaylon Brothers of St. Augustine, TX. He is survived by 3 brothers, Glenn Brothers of Richmond, TX, Billy Brothers of San Angelo, TX, James Brothers of San Antonio, TX. 4 sisters, Inez Raymond of Austin TX., Edith Frazier of Batson, TX., Gerolene Shedd, Mathis, TX., and Janie Selinsky of Plugerville, TX.

Grandchildren: 15 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren.

He was a devoted family man and loved by his family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday March 13, 2011 at 2:00 P.M.at Faith & Family Funeral Services in Batson with interment to follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson. The family will be receiving friends also on Sunday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at Faith & Family.

Bullock

Jasper Eugene Bullock, 67, of Sour Lake, died Tuesday March 8, 2011 at his residence.

He was born to Jasper Marion Bullock and Jewel Alexander on August 14, 1943 and had lived in Sour Lake many years and had been a Tool Pusher for Petroleum Well Service of Sour Lake.

He is survived by hi son Curtis Bullock of Saratoga, daughter Sandra Bullock of Saratoga, Gena Gongora and husband Jason of Sour Lake. Brothers Glenn Bullock of Sour Lake and Carl Bullock of Mauriceville. Grandchildren Jessica Nash and husband Chris, Curtis Bullock Jr, Crystal Bullock, Brittnie Lucier, Dillon Lucier. Great-Grandchildren Caden Nash and Skylar Nash.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday March 12, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Chapel 40847 Hwy 105 E.

The family will be receiving friends also on Saturday March 12, 2011 from 10:00A.M. until time of service at Faith & Family Funeral Services. Cremation to follow service.

Cameron

Florence “Mama Flo” Malinowski Cameron, 75, of Huffman, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2011, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with graveside services at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, at the St. Stanislaus cemetery in Chappell Hill. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Florence was born January 24, 1936 in Chappell Hill, to parents; Paul and Margaret Taranowski Malinowski, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in the Huffman area for the past 20 years. She was a homemaker, former owner/operator of Flo’s Lounge, and enjoyed cooking, and playing slots.

Mrs. Cameron was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Shon Cameron, an infant son, brother: Charles, and sisters: Agnes and Gertie. She is survived by her daughters: Debra and husband James of Huffman and Susie of Houston, stepson: Shawn and wife Kari of KS, four grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Tally

Sarah Ann Roy Tally, 49, of Baytown, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at her residence. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 10, 2011 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery. A gathering of Sarah's family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the funeral home.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents and a brother and a sister. She loved spending time with her family.

Sarah is survived by her daughter, Rachel Weaver of Baytown; son, Richard Weaver Jr. and wife Patty of Baytown. grandchildren, Tyra Braxton and Myka Braxton of Baytown, Kiylee Weaver Kamryn and Kohen Weaver of Baytown; Raymond Duhon and wife Diane of Jasper, special friend Tommy Haffner and son Zachary Falcon and a host of other family and friends.

Hill

Dorothy Barrow Hill, 96, of Anahuac, died on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Bayside Community Hospital. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Anahuac. Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery. A gathering of Dorothy's family and friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac.

Mrs. Hill was a native of Humble. She was a 1932 graduate of Baytown Lee High School. Dorothy was the co-owner of Hills Grocery in Anahuac. She was member of the Daughters Republic of Texas and the daughters of the American Revolution. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Sam Hill Jr.

Mrs. Hill is survived by her sons, Charles Hill of Anahuac, Sam Hill III and Peggy of Anahuac; grandchildren, Jean Taylor and Judge Hugh Taylor of Marshall, Graydon Hill and wife Katie of Marshall, Danni Hill of Anahuac, Amy Turner and husband Rhett of Anahuac, Katie Hill of Anahuac, Christine Huff and husband Ryan of Lubbock; and six great grandchildren; brother, Col. Sterling E. Barrow (retired); sister, Annie Faye Marshall and a host of other family and friends.

Shelton

Joyce Rea Cranfill McDonald Shelton, 69, of Hempstead, died Saturday, March 5, 2011.

She was born January 1, 1942 in Seymour, Texas to parents James Roscoe and Angie Mabel Bradley Cranfill. She was a long time resident of Monahans where she attended High School. Married to Jay McDonald, they raised their family in Monahans and later moved to Missouri where they attended Baptist Bible College, with Jay becoming a minister. They served several churches throughout Texas moving to Dayton in 1989. She had a passion for serving her church and its family in many capacities. Joyce was currently a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hempstead.

Services for Mrs. Shelton will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Dayton with Rev. Kenneth Wayne Shelton officiating. Interment will be at Ryan cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Jay McDonald. She is survived by her husband of nine years: Kenneth Shelton of Hempstead; her daughters: Julie Anderton & husband Bob of Tarkington Prairie, and Diana Gray and husband Robert of Livingston; grandchildren: Katy and Michael Kelley, Kyle and Allison Anderton, Stephen and Derity Gray, Tamara and Matt Boyd; great-grandchildren: Roxy Joline Kelley, Madilyn Boyd, Makenzie Boyd, Acaysia Nixon, and Haylee Gray; also numerous other relatives and friends.

Weeks

Sunny Rachelle Weeks, 24, of Daisetta, died Saturday March 5, 2011 in Daisetta.

Born in Liberty TX she had lived in Daisetta for ten years before moving to Baytown where she lived a short time and had been a Security Guard for U.S. Security Associates Inc. of Baytown.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother Norma Cobb, Great grandparents J.D. and Pearl Cain, Ethel and Mark Adams, Clarence and Armetha Weeks and Aunt Becky Hatcher.

Sunny is survived by her parents Donald Ray Weeks Jr and Sheryl Lynn Cobb Weeks of Daisetta, daughter Arianna Nacole Weeks of Daisetta, brother Jimmy Ray Weeks of Daisetta. Grandparents, Don and Pat Weeks of Hull, Norman Cobb and wife Mary Ann of Dayton. Aunts, Jennifer Richardson and husband Craig of Hull, Karen Prewitt and husband Randy of Hardin, Carron Gaskey and husband Billy of Clearlake and Uncle, Keith Cobb of Hardin and numerous cousins and friends.

A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday March 9, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. At Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105 E. with Reverend Rick Hassell officiating interment to follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday March 8, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. Until 9:00 P.M. At Faith & Family. Pallbearers are Danny McNeely, Beth Johnson, Darryl Bowen, Craig Richardson, Raymond Sanders, Randy Prewitt.

Waller

JoAnn DeWalt Waller, 82, of Liberty, died Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Liberty Health Care Center. She was born September 6, 1928 in Trinity, Texas to parents Theodore Buren and Dollie Ayers DeWalt. Mrs. Waller had been a lifelong resident of Trinity, where she worked as a registered nurse in Trinity and Huntsville before moving to the Dayton area to be near her family.

Graveside services for Mrs. Waller will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2011 at Cedar Grove cemetery in Trinity. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

Mrs. Waller was preceded in death by her parents and the father of her daughter: Phelon C. Waller. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Jan and Jay Knight of Dayton; her grandson: Jesse Knight of Houston; her granddaughter: Jenna Knight of Dayton and great-grandson: Tyler Gilley of Dayton; also numerous other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to Liberty Health Care Center in Mrs. Waller’s name to help fund their special events.

Apostalo

Tony Apostalo, 87, of Baytown, died Friday, March 4, 2011.

He was born June 12, 1923 in Port O’Connor, Texas. He was a carpenter and a fisherman. He loved to hunt and dance and he was very proud of the homes he built. He loved to visit with his family and friends He was a good husband and father and an awesome grandfather. He will be missed by those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Matilda Apostalo; brothers, Jimmy Apostalo, E.J. Apostalo, Henry Apostalo, Alex Apostalo; sister, Ruby Zafereo; wife, Mildred Apostalo.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline Apostalo; children, Nelda Henry and husband Gary, Melody Swire and husband Leslie; stepchildren, Dana Standard, Tresa Eastman and husband Thomas, Billie Robinson and husband Kevin, Dale Ott and wife Jane, Lona Donlon and husband Robert; brothers, Paul Apostalo and wife Sara, Frank Apostalo, Roy Apostalo and wife Mary Alice; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.

His family will receive friends at Sterling Funeral Home on Monday March 7, 2011 from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. The funeral service is scheduled for Monday March 7, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Sterling Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Larry Hayes. Burial will follow at Palms Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Smith, Sr., Joseph Smith, Jr., Haley Smith, Christopher Henry, Kristen Roulet, Daniel Eastman, Tommy Standard, Jr. and Thomas Eastman.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home 602 N. Main, Dayton, TX, 77535, (936)258-2678.

Clark

Harvey W. “Trapper” Clark, Jr., 69, of Dayton, died Friday, March 4, 2011, at the Liberty-Dayton Community Hospital in Liberty.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton. Burial services will be held at a later date. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Trapper was born February 5, 1942 in Utopia, to parents; Harvey W. Clark, Sr. and Hazel C. Brown, a former resident of Bandera, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 25 years. He was a former wildlife trapper for the State of Texas, a bartender for Tooley’s, and volunteer cook for many benefits in the area. He also enjoyed cooking, horses, and ranching.

Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his father: Harvey W. Clark, Sr., stepfather: Billy Stratton, daughter: Cindy Hicks, and brother: Donald Clark. He is survived by his sons: Mark W Clark of Texas City, Harvey W. “Jr.” Clark, III of AR, and Terry Clark of SD, daughters: Diane Flowers of Kingwood and Christy Lee Clark of Helotes, mother: Hazel C. Brown Stratton of Leon Springs, brothers: Sam Clark and wife Mitzi of Pearland, Gerald Clark and wife Judy of GA, Billy Stratton and wife Janie of San Antonio, and Bobby Stratton and wife Mary Carmen of Leon Springs, sisters: Georgia L. Glover and husband Norman of FL and Beverly Lee and husband Larry of KS, special friend: Betty McKeand Newman of Dayton, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Lewis

Gyrthia Jean "Jeannie" Perryman Lewis was born on August 20, 1927, and died at 3:25 AM on March 3, 2011.

Jeannie was a lifelong resident of Liberty, Texas. She married her high school sweetheart, J. Gary Lewis, Jr. on August 6, 1947, after patiently waiting for him to return from the war. He had dropped out of high school to enlist in the United States Navy, and after serving his country, returned home to Liberty to finish high school and graduate. Their love and devotion to each other was widely known by their friends and family in Liberty.

Jeannie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, J. Gary Lewis, Jr., her parents, Walter and Gyrthia Perryman, her brother, Brit Perryman, sister-in-law Mary Perryman, Yvonne Ford, brother-in-law Billy L. Adams, and her dear friend for over 40 years, Eunice Overton.

Survivors include son, Gary Lewis and his wife Beverly of Deer Park, Texas, son Randy Lewis and wife Frances of LaPorte, Texas, grandchildren Jennifer Stafford and her husband Wayne of Pasadena, Texas, Jason Lewis of Deer Park, Krista Sehnert of LaPorte, and Holly Arnold and husband Michael of Pearland, Texas, great grandchildren Lindsey and Shea Stafford and Victoria Sehnert. Jeannie was a member of First United Methodist Church of Liberty where she attended the Methodist Ladies' Bible Study, and the Sunday Afternoon Coffee Club. She was a member of the DAR Libertad Chapter, and the Liberty Dayton Eastern Star. Jeannie enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and crocheting. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 4, 2011 from 5pm to 8pm at Allison Funeral Services. The funeral service is at 2pm on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Allison Funeral Services, officiated by Jay Barnes. Burial will follow at Fairlawn cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are as followed: Jason Lewis, Wayne Stafford, Michael Arnold, Barney Gaspard, and Claude Perryman. Honorary Pallbearers are Tom Warner and Walter Perryman.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX, 77575 (936) 336-6418.

Mercer

Effie Lee Mercer, 85, of Hull, died Tuesday March 1, 2011 at Christus St, Elizabeth Hospital of Beaumont.

Born in Fuqua TX, on December 19, 1925 she had lived Hull since 1984 and was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Hull.

She was preceded in death by her son William D. Mercer Jr, Sister Johnnie Augeri, Brother Ed Gay and her parents Paul Gay and Ocie Mullins.

She is survived by her husband William Mercer of Hull, Sons Hugh Mercer of Hull, and John Lee Mercer of Houston. Brothers Carl Gay of Library Pennsylvania and Larry Gay of Houston. One sister Roberta Ursprung of Rye. Grandchildren Hugh Paul Mercer Jr of Hull and William D. Mercer III of San Francisco California. Great grandson Paul Christopher Mercer of Hull.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday March 5, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Hull with Reverend David Pursley officiating interment to follow at Holly Grove cemetery of Segno.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday March 4, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Hull.
